I took two slices of toasted Arnold multigrain bread, and I put Hellmann's Olive Oil mayonnaise on them, and I added 8 slices of Stop and Shop turkey and 6 slices of Stop and Shop provolone cheese, and I cut the sandwich in half, and I ate it with Cape Cod wavy sea salt potato chips and a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice and two slices of spice cake. CIO
11/30/21 Tuesday 4:45 P.M. As I recall in the winter of 1971, I changed jets in Barbados on my way back from Tobago. At Duty Free in Barbados, I was able to buy a liter bottle of Johnnie Walker black scotch for only an American dollar. I will now go outside and drink a brewed coffee. Coffee has become very popular in America, since it went from five cents a cup to five dollars a cup with the rampant inflation we have experienced in the last thirty years as our Southern neighbors explore our Northern wilderness. I then went by the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a Family 12 pack of Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese croissants for $15.29 and from the clearance section a half price 12 inch Apple pie for $4.49 for $19.78 total. I then returned home. I sat outside. I put away my groceries. I ate a one fifth piece of 12 inch apple pie with spring water. I filed this report. I will now go outside again, and I will put the green bag back in the car. CIO

I bought two 59 ounce Simply Orange grapefruit juice for $3 each, a five gallon bottle of Primo water with orange cap for $6.99 with bottle return, a six pack of Thomas' Everything bagels for $4.79, a 42 ounce Smart Balance spread for $6.99, and a 48 ounce Almond Breeze vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $4.99 for $29.76 total. I then toured www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue, but they are out of Fresca. I then drove down to the Senior and the Arts Center. I sat out for a while. I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com . I walked down the street to Zen Stationary, and I bought an Ace's High scratch card for a dollar, and I lost as usual. I then sat out some more at the Senior and the Arts Center. I then returned home. I used my little folding cart to bring up the water, and I put it away along with my other groceries. I went outside, and I put the cart back in the car along with the green bag. I sat outside for a while. I filed this report. I will now go outside and drink a brewed coffee. There was also no Promo Vermont Spring water at the Acme grocery store. CIO

I bought two boxes of Nabisco saltines for $3 each for $6 total. I then bought a 6 ounce can of CVS raw almonds for $2.99 less $2 off bonus bucks from the previous purchase for .99 total. I then chatted with a regular at the CFCF coffee shop across the street. I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and they have huge turkeys for .99 a pound. I bought three 19 ounce Stauffer's extra meat lasagnas for $11 all, a 8 pack of Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese biscuits for $11.99, and a 16 ounce Hungryman turkey dinner for $3 for $25.99 total. I then returned home. I put away my groceries. I went outside, and I put the green bag back in the car, and I drank a brewed coffee. I filed this report. I will now eat a one sixth slice of a 12 inch Apple pie. I will then go outside. I am trying to save energy for the environment by not cleaning up too much every day but every few days. CIO

11/24/21 Wednesday 2:30 A.M. Fred Von Mierers was supposed to take over Billy Baldwin's Interior Decorating Business. Billy Baldwin not only looked a bit like the Duke of Windsor, but also knew him. Vivian West when I first met her had an English Cocker Spaniel and a Pug named Charlie, but when I built the garage apartment on Long Island, she only had Charlie who tried to keep an eye on the house besides here grandson John. The Duke of Windsor kept Pugs, so maybe Vivian West also knew the Duke of Windsor. Vivian had me once show Charlie at the Long Island dog show, so I think some of the blue bloods at the Long Island dog show thought I was her grandson, who knows. I know a little French, so I could try to install Windows 11 Rufus in French on one of my backup computers at the far end of the oak dining table, but most of the free programs that I use are in English, but Windows 11 Rufus in French might have some French programs in the Microsoft Store. The Duke of Windsor lived in Paris after he left the Bahamas after World War II, so he might have had some French speaking friends. CIO

Back from December 1980 to February 1982, when I was living at Julie Bolton's apartment on West 74th Street, she was the head of word processing for Cyrus Vance's law firm across from the www.ibm.com building on Madison Avenue. Her apartment was two doors west of the Mayflower Madam's town house. When she had me move out in February 1982, because one of her sons was moving in, it was around minus 26 degrees Fahrenheit in Manhattan as a result of global cooling after Mount St. Helen's erupted. I would visit a pub behind the Museum of Natural History with a lot of www.columbia.edu students. I did not have a winter coat just my Brooks Brother's wool suit and grey tweed sports jacket, but I was younger and used to the cold. I did break down and spend $5 to buy a dark blue and light blue light weight parka from a street vendor on Columbus Avenue which offered a little bit of relief. While there John Lennon was murdered in the neighborhood while I was walking Julie's daughter's white German Shepard to the Waldorf Astoria to see Ronald Reagan when he first showed up in Manhattan after having been elected President. The Secret Service liked the dog, so they took a picture of it with a Polaroid camera. My standard meal was a roast beef sandwich from Gristedes on West 72nd Street for about $4. I also walked Julie's son's dog a Doberman Pincher. Since Julie's ex husband was in the State Department in Libya, Thailand, and Saudi Arabia, and Julie worked for Cyrus Vance after he was Secretary of State, I felt like a State Department Dog Walker. I spent a lot of time walking the dogs in Riverside Park, and on West 79th Street at the boat basin was where the www.forbes.com family kept their yacht the Highlander when not at Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale. I think the summer of 1981 was the only summer I ever spent in Manhattan, beside June 1973, when I was at www.cbsnews.com . I did frequently walk through Central Park and toured the Metropolitan Museum of Art for free which I know quite well. There was a bus down Riverside Drive and east on west 72nd Street and down Broadway and east on Central Park South and down Fifth Avenue to Greenwich Village, where I would go to a pub with a lot of www.nyu.edu students. Julie also had been secretary to the Dean of the NYU school of business. The pub was across the street from Ed Koch's apartment, so it was quite busy, and I already knew my way around Greenwich Village from the period in Manhattan from October 1973 to February 1975. I think in the early morning hours there was another bus that went uptown on Broadway to near Julie's apartment. Julie did not use her apartment very much, since she lived with the doorman at the Carnegie Tower on the East Side. The apartment had a boy's private school behind it. It was a Sanford White building owned by the Van Dusen family, and Julie was paid $50,000 to move out of it, and I built the garage apartment at her mother's house in Plandome Manor, Long Island from April 1982 to February 1983. In the period around the winter of 1979, I also lived with Julie's sons at her former husband's apartment on Bar Beach Road in Port Washington, Long Island. However, at the time, I did not know George Gordon Cary was living at his aunt's garage apartment nearby in Sands Point, Long Island. Long Island is very busy, so a lot of people get lost in the shuffle. The telephone directory on Long Island even had a aerial photograph on the cover of www.nantucket.net . Both Vivian West and Fred Von Mierers has those old type black steel telephones like they use in the www.army.mil . I think they were made to withstand a nuclear blast if the telephone lines still worked. When I was at www.cbsnews.com in the Spring of 1973, I learned that New York Telephone had a nuclear blast proof building at around Eighth Avenue and 55th Street. Fred did have a two line telephone, and I still have his number at 420 East 49th Street which still rings, but nobody ever answers. For all I now it is a top secret number of some sort. The number is 1-212-722-4072. Maybe that is the private number for the German ambassador to the www.un.org for all I know. A lot of Fred's visitors were German students at the www.columbia.edu Business school which also has the Watson Library www.ibm.com . Vivian West was German American with a mother from the Kaiser of Germany consulate in Manhattan, Fred spoke fluent German, and had lived with the Krupp family in Germany, and Fred's godmother was from the Kress family, which I think is also a German family. While at Julie apartment, in December 1980, I made a three day trip to Frankfort, Germany to get some more help. I will now go outside and drink a brewed coffee. CIO

I returned to Greenwich on December 13, 1983, the Aga Khan's birthday who was a resident of Greenwich at the time, when he was High Commissioner for Refugees at the www.un.org . By that time, they had made temporary repairs to the I-95 Bridge. Thus Greenwich attracted a lot of attention than it normally might not have attracted.

They have very large fresh turkeys there for 49 cents a pound. I then drove around downtown Greenwich, and I sat out at the Veterans monument at the Board of Education parking lot. Weicker, when we lived on both Baldwin Farms North and Baldwin Farms South. When we lived on Alpine Road, we were neighbors of one of the many Rockefeller families in Greenwich. When we lived on Cornelia Drive, we were neighbors of Paul Hicks the assistant selectman of Greenwich, Dorothy Bush, the former president's mother and grandmother, another member of the Rockefeller family, and not too far away from a Vanderbilt family member and Tom Watson's house of www.ibm.com at the time. When I came off www.nantucket.net with Jackie Onassis in December 1983, I ended up at 700 Steamboat Road for 4.5 years, when for a while I was a neighbor of the Trump family, when they lived nearby in Indian Harbor, where my stepfather also once lived, and where former first selectman of Greenwich John Marganot owned an office building. I also had a roommate at www.lfc.edu whose family had the house next to the Robert Kennedy family in Hyanissport. Also when I was around a friend of Barbara Rockefeller in Manhattan named Fred Von Mierers, I met James Edward Eldert whose grandfather had the house next to Richard Nixon in Key Biscayne, Florida. Thus I have probably been around other important people that I did not pay much attention to, since they were a bit older than myself. I do have two cousins whom are top notched lawyers in their field of practice also along with a local attorney here in Greenwich for trivial matters. I have been legally disabled in Greenwich, Connecticut since December 1983, if not longer; so I pretty much mind my own business, and I do not end up associating with some of the more local ambitious younger people. Before I moved to Greenwich area around June 1961, my father gave me Harry Truman's autograph. Also when I visited the www.forbes.com yacht at www.westpoint.edu around 1965, I signed my name in the guest book after Herbert Hoover. Also Fred Von Mierers godmother Helen Kress Williams had the estate next to Theodore Roosevelt's Sagamore Hill in Oyster Bay, Long Island. Vivian West out in Plandome Manor, Long Island lived near one of the Vanderbilt estates, so there were a few old Dutch families out there too. Another classmate at www.lfc.edu lived in his Aunt's garage apartment out in Sands Point, Long Island, and she was W. Averill Harriman's sister. Thus I have been tossed around by various political groups as far as I can tell. Also my family were neighbors of the Bush family in Kennebunkport, Maine. 11/13/21 Saturday 8:30 P.M. I went downtown to the Acme grocery store at 160 West Putnam Avenue. I bought a 5 gallon bottle with bottle return of Prime Vermont Spring water for $6.99 and a 48 ounce Almond Breeze unsweetened vanilla almond milk for $4.99 for $11.98 total. I then went by the www.chase.com Bank ATM machine at the top of Greenwich Avenue. I then drove down a cold and bleak mostly deserted Greenwich Avenue. I then tried to go to the www.shell.com gasoline station at 401 West Putnam Avenue, but their pumps were not working. Their self service premium gasoline is $4.50 a gallon though. I then returned home. I brought the 42 pound bottle of water up with my little folding cart, and then I put the cart back in the car, and I drank a brewed coffee outside. I filed this report. I then drove down to the Board of Education parking lot, and I sat out at the Veterans monument, and I first set my car clock, and I set Sirius XM to channel 76 on my car radio for Classical Music. I then used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com . I then sat out at the Senior and the Arts Center, and I chatted with a friend on my cell phone. I then went to the Acme grocery store at 160 West Putnam Avenue. I bought a three pound bag of Clementines for $3.99, two 4 packs of Signature sausage, egg, and cheese English muffins for $4.13 each four pack, six 5 ounce Dannon fruit yogurts for .60 each and buy one get one free of Thomas' English muffins for $4.69 both for $19.93 total. However, for some reason the time comes up one hour ahead as Madrid, Spain. Who knows, maybe the huge man with Scottish dog tatooes on his legs I saw the last time I visited the Acme grocery store is the King of Spain, when everything is supposed to come to a complete stand still when he visits except for his immediate entourage. 11/10/21 Wednesday 11:35 P.M. On the new www.hp.com laptop computer, I attached an USB DVD/RW drive, and I made a new System Restore Disk on a DVD disk. Then using a USB splitter with the external backup hard drive attached, I booted the System Restore Disk, and I tried to restore the new Windows Complete PC backup from the image I made after I configured the laptop. The system restore is working just fine from the Sytem Restore DVD disk, but it is interesting, the first thing it did was restore the "EFI" partition which the previous restore from the computer did not do that. I will now go outside again. CIO
11/10/21 Wednesday 10:45 P.M. On the new www.hp.com laptop, the second new Windows 11 USB pen drive had the same installation problem as the other USB Windows 11 pen drive even though it was made off the new HP laptop. All I can think of is the new HP laptop comes with Windows 10 S, and although it can be upgraded to Windows 11 Home or for $100 to Windows 11 Professional, the features on the new HP laptop include a 256 GB EFI SSD drive which maybe is not recognized by the regular Windows 11 install pen drive. Possibly some feature of Windows 10 S mode is still on the computer which permitted me to restore my Windows Complete PC backup of the new configuration from November 1, 2021. The last time I had used it was when I was watching the www.nantucket.net web cam on Friday November 5, 2021, when the audio on the Samsung 49 inch television was hacked that it was connected to, so maybe somebody online from Nantucket or else where hacked the new www.hp.com laptop. However, they would not have been able to discharge it to 7% battery power and disconnect the power cable to the power line transformer through the internet, so it seems somebody might have gained access to my apartment. I do not worry too much about the computers, since I know how to fix them, but I worry somebody might mess with my medications, beverages, food stuff, or other items in my apartment. I will now go outside again. CIO
11/10/21 Wednesday 10:10 P.M. On the new www.hp.com laptop, when it would not start, I got a few repair screens, and then it went to the Windows Advanced settings, and I had to scroll down to the next page to get the Windows Image restore program which worked from the HP laptop, but not the Windows 11 install pen drive. Thus it is all restored to the way it was when I first configured it and backed it up with Windows Complete PC backup. I am now going to try to make a new Windows 11 install pen drive to see if that pen drive works off the new HP laptop. Live and Learn. On a minor note today, when I turned on the new HP laptop, it was only 7% charged, when it should have been fully charged, and also the power cord was not fully plugged into the transformer on the power cord, which seems at some time before this past Saturday evening, some how some one had tampered with it. CIO

On the new HP laptop, I tried installing a Windows 10 Professional product key on Windows 11 Home, and that brought up product activation for Windows 11, and I did not feel like paying a $100 to Big Bill for Windows 11 Professional. However, when I tried to boot my Windows 11 install pen drive to restore my backup image, it would not work. After a bit of trouble shooting, I got the Windows 11 backup image to restore from Windows 11 Settings, Restore to the new HP laptop from the Windows Recovery on the hard drive. I guess on the new HP laptop, the Windows 11 install features do not work without the features built into the Windows 11 laptop. I went outside once. I will now go outside and drink a brewed coffee. On my 2005 Volvo XC 70 wagon, the fuel sensor module needs to be replaced for $650, the battery for $300, the rear hatch struts for $450, and disconnect the car alarm for a total of about $1,900 that a relative will pay for. Also the front tires need to be replaced and aligned, and that would cost $450, but I will hold off on that. To fix the key lock on the driver's side door lock would be $450 which I will not do. I am waiting to hear from a relative. They will work on it tomorrow. CIO

11/06/21 Saturday 11:05 P.M. I chatted with a friend. I tried my two oldest jump start systems on the car, but even though they say they are fully charged, they are no good. I tried my fairly new jump start system on the car, and after it was connected for a minute properly, the car started. On the positive post one has to make sure it is connected to the metal post and not the plastic beneath it. I took the car downtown, and on the highway at exit 3 going east to charge up the car battery, but the check engine light came on around exit 6, so I got off at exit 8, and I left the car to be checked out at https://www.rileyvolvocarsstamford.com/ . I filled out the night drop off form. When my neighbor arrived to pick me up, I turned off the car, and it started up again. Possibly with the cold weather my four year old battery is no good. I also mention on the form the rear hatch struts need to be replaced, and the drive's side front door lock does not work other than the wireless key fob. I have unlimited long distance with Optimum Online, but that does not work if the power went off. Also I have long distance on my three cell phones, but that might not work if the power went off. CIO

The newest automobile jump start system is fully charged. I do not know if they will hold a charge, but I am also charging up the other two older automobile jump start systems. CIO

11/05/21 Friday 9:35 P.M. I went downtown to the Acme grocery store at 160 West Putnam Avenue. I bought a family pack of 80 Signature medium roast 10% Kona coffee k cups for $19.99 and a 48 ounce Almond Breeze vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $4.99 for $24.98 total. I then drove down to the Board of Education parking lot veterans monument. I chatted with a friend on my cell phone. I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com . I met up with the friend. We sat inside at Starbucks for a while. We then sat out at the Senior and the Arts Center observing a busy Friday evening. I then returned home. I put the k cups in the right living room closet floor. On the chair by the apartment door, I have knit caps, knit gloves and scarves and lots more on the far right book case in the hallway on the upper middle shelf. I moved several polar fleeces to on top of the LG air conditioner in the bedroom, and I have more on the left side bedroom closet shelf. I also have long underwear hanging from the bathroom door on both sides. I also have lots of sweaters and turtle necks in the hallway sweater closet. Living in the North Country, winter clothing for survival outside in very important in the Winter. Over the spring and summer, I cleared out winter jackets and winter boots that I did not need, and I gave them to the charity container at the Stop and Shop. I also connected its power supply to the power strip on the near side of the oak dining table, so the new HP laptop always has power and a LAN connection. I used to tip the rest room attendant a dollar, when ever I used the bathroom there, so they probably thought I was rich. I once stayed a night at the Waldorf Towers with Hurley Haywood in January 1973, and I saw somebody entering the Waldorf Towers that looked like the Duke of Windsor from a chauffeur driven www.buick.com sedan. I used to walk through there to warm up in the winter, and I saw both Presidents Ford and Reagan, when I was watching outside during the Al Smith dinner. Fred Von Mierers and Helen Kress Williams used to help organize the International Debutant Ball there at Christmas time. I think once or twice, I also had a drink there. Combustion Engineering now www.abb.com and British Overseas Aircraft Corporation used to have offices just south of there in the Chemical Bank Building on Park Avenue. I will now go outside again. Actually, I think the last time I was near White Plains, New York was about four years ago, when I went to the Allstate Claims adjuster off I-287, when a neighbor broke the tail light on my car, and they gave me $300 to fix it, which I used to buy the Acer laptop from www.microsoft.com the only other new computer that I have ever owned. I did drive over to downtown Harrison, New York about ten years ago to go to the Cablevision store. Also, maybe about twenty years ago, I went to the new mall in White Plains, New York where the Nordstrom department store is, and I toured the Babbidges software store there. I think maybe fifteen years ago or longer, I went to Hartsdale, New York to buy a 19 inch Acer monitor from Best Buy. I did used to drive down from Kennebunkport, Maine on Interstate I-84 and I-684, and I would drive down King Street back to Byram, which would have taken me near the Westchester County airport in back country. I have stayed local most of these years to conserve on money, which I use for my personal computer and internet activity. It was actually only about two and a half years ago, I opened an Amazon account, but before then I would order over $35 to get free shipping. I then drove down to the Board of Education parking lot, and I had a picnic in the Greenwich Common. I then sat out at the Veterans monument and the Senior and the Arts Center. I then went by the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought buy one get one free of six packs of Thomas' English muffins for $4.69 both and four 48 ounce Ocean Spray diet cranberry juice for $3.49 each for $18.65 total. I then went to Putnam Shell at 401 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought $16 of self service premium gasoline for $4.399 a gallon for 3.683 gallons at odometer reading of 122791 miles for 53.5 miles driven since Tuesday October 19, 2021 for 14.527 miles per gallon in local traffic. I then returned home. I put away my purchases. I put the green bag back in the car, and I drank a brewed coffee outside. I filed this report. I will now go outside again. CIO

11/02/21 Tuesday 6:25 P.M. To get the new www.hp.com laptop to play off HDMI on the Samsung 49 inch television, one the Samsung television under settings, general, external device, I changed it to Gaming, so now it works just fine as a large screen mirror monitor. I put a dedicated HDMI cable from the HP laptop to the Samsung television on HDMI 2. I will now shower and clean up. CIO

I move the new www.hp.com laptop back to the right side of the oak dining table on top of the other two laptops. I will now shut down the primary work computer, and I will go to bed. CIO
11/02/21 Tuesday 5:45 A.M. I got out the new www.hp.com laptop, and I tried connecting its HDMI port to the Samsung 49 inch television, but it would not work possibly because off a bad HDMI connector connecting the cables. However, Windows 11 of the new HP laptop have a wireless features that recognizes my Samsung 49 inch television, and displays just great. Both new HP and the Samsung television have Bluetooth, maybe that is why it connects wirelessly for a second display. I will now head out to vote.

11/01/21 Monday 10:45 P.M. On the new HP Laptop, the USB Lan Adapter now does not show up in the device manager, so I went back to using the wireless which is fast enough. I have Office 2019 Professional installed on it and activated. CIO

On the new HP laptop, it came with Windows 10 S on it, and when I installed Windows 11, it was still Windows 11 S, but when I installed Norton 360, it prompted me to disable S, so now the USB Ethernet adapter works just fine to put it online with a LAN cable. I guess S stands for some sort of Security or Microsoft Store. I went outside, and I drank a brewed coffee. CIO
11/01/21 Monday 7:30 P.M. I started up the www.hp.com laptop, and I let it start Windows 10. I then installed my Windows 11 regular install pen drive, and I ran setup, and it installed Windows 11 without any problem as an upgrade. The HP laptop only has two USB ports, and no LAN connection, and a USB LAN connector will now work on it, so one has to use wireless which is no problem. I went outside again. CIO

I went out, and I drove west on West Putnam Avenue and north up King Street and West on Anderson Hill Road to the White Plains Civic Center to the Target Department store. On my Optimum Bill, I noticed they have been charging me for three cable boxes for three years when I only had two, and when I called, they took the third cable box off, but they will not refund me the $396, they over charged me for three years.
