I covered a dinner plate with three ounces of baby spinach leaves, then I added a drained and flaked five ounce can of Bumble Bee solid white albacore tuna fish, four ounces of shredded mozzarella cheese, a quarter of a diced red Bermuda onion, grated parmesan and Romano cheese, and Wish Bone Italian dressing. I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of www.coke.com Zero Sugar.

05/31/23 Wednesday 8:00 P.M.. I went downtown to the Board of Education Parking Lot Veterans Monument, and I sat out for about two hours. I paid $1.50 in quarters for parking. Bartlett Tree was trimming trees at the Board of Education, so it was a bit noisy. I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com . I then went to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue, and I waited a half hour for a prescription. Two doors south of CVS, there is going to be an Abercrombie and Finch store. I sat out for a while in the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park. I used the bathroom at the CFCF coffee. I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue. I bought a six pack of Stop and Shop English muffins for $2.99, two six ounce bags of Dole baby spinach leaves for $3.29 each, four 8 ounce bags of Kraft shredded mozzarella cheese for $2.50 each, two 15 ounce Stop and Shop Lite Italian dressing for $2 each, a Bermuda red onion for $1.47 and a 49 ounce Florida Natural Ruby Red grapefruit juice for $3 for $28.04 total. I then returned home. I did not get any mail. I put away my groceries. I went outside, and I put the grey bag back in the car. I drank a brewed coffee outside. I filed this report. I will now go outside again. CIO

I will eat a Jimmy Dean Sausage, Egg, and cheese croissant with two toasted multigrain English muffins with Smart Balance spread, and pineapple chunks with mandarin oranges, and a glass of Crystal Rock filtered water with some pineapple juice and cranberry juice and a cup of coffee with artificial sweetener and almond milk. 05/31/23 Wednesday 5:35 A.M.. I went outside a couple of times, and I tried to reset the 2005 Volvo XC70 service message to no avail.

05/31/23 Wednesday 4:00 A.M.. I went out for a drive down Green Witch Avenue and down to the pier on Steamboat Road and back around through town and returned home. The car seems to be running just fine despite the fact that the "Check Engine" light and message, "Engine System Service Required" message is displayed. I have not yet been able to reset it though. I then went to the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park on Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out for a long time. I toured www.cvs.com . When I started the car, the Check Engine light came on, but it appears to be running just fine. I went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a six pack of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.99. I then returned home. I used my little folding cart to bring up the water, and I then put the cart back in the car. I chatted with a friend. I tried two different procedures to reset the Check Engine Light, but the procedures did not work. I filed this report.

05/27/23 Saturday 5:15 A.M.. I learned a few secrets about www.nantucket.net . Some famous people live out there privately in remote parts of the island. Some people go out there to have their babies born, so their children can say they were born in Nantucket. On the south side of the Polpis Road half way down there is the Hidden Forest, where Druids get together, but it is swampy and hard to find. One needs a local to find it. The Scottish help found Nantucket, but when they found out Quakers do not have to pay for a minister, they all became Quakers. There were Masonic symbols on some grave stones out there. Benjamin Franklin's mother's family the Folger family were from Nantucket, and she is buried out there. Benjamin Franklin got to go to www.harvard.edu , because he was the youngest of thirteen children, so maybe he was spoiled. On the north side of the Madakit harbor there are lots of quahogs which are large clams. The recipe for Portuguese bread is the same as French bread, but the loaf is shaped like a regular loaf of bread sort of. One of the three towers of the Loran Navigation System were out there. The other beacons were in Hobe Sound, Florida and San Clemente, California; so I was around all three beacons. I figured if one were next to the beacon one would not be able to find one with triangularization. The microwave towers for the NORAD earlier warning system were out there, so people have to deal with microwave radiation. The Kennedy fall out shelter was out there. Jimmy Eldert's Joy family relatives started the Nantucket water company, so they were out there a long time besides Joy Street on Beacon Hill in Boston. They have a working windmill out there. They planted a million daffodils along the Sconset bicycle path. Sparky was a short wave radio operator. He looked a bit like the Duke of Windsor. The Hussey family are a local family. The harbor can freeze in the winter, and there are no ice breakers. The sheriff goes to the Virgin Islands in the winter. Mrs. Florence Frances who supposedly never left the island since the 1930s used to summer in Tuckernut and goes to Lyford Cay, in the Bahamas. The local lettuce can have sand in it. Most people with four wheel drive vehicles used them for blue fishing. Everyone has freezers full of blue fish. Flossie baked blue fish filet in aluminum foil with mayonnaise and dill. The electric company only has four ships generators, and the last one came from England over 40 years ago, and it is now made in Germany. The youth hostile is next to Tony Ferrill's house, and he owns Ferrills Dairy in Norwich, Vermont. The Stowe Ski patrol works as waiters in the summer at Le Languedoc. Some school teachers work out there in the summer. The Reverend William Sloan Coffin from Yale was a carpenter out there and from one of the older families out on Nantucket. The Mueller water mains are from Wabash, Indiana. In World War II, everything was painted Battle Ship grey. They had a lot of four wheel army Wiley's jeeps out there. They use to practice landing Eastern Airlines jets out there. There are some French Canadians out there. The Nantucket Anthaneum Library has a lot of historical valuable books in their vault, and the top floor is all books on genealogy. People like to be low key there and blend in from experience. There is the Taft coin laundry down by the harbor. When I was out there until December 1983, nobody had cable television let along the internet. Robert Louis Stevenson's library is in his house on Quince Street. Half the books are on mysticism. Herman Melville wrote a one page description of Nantucket in Moby Dick. He says it is a fog shrouded barnacle infested island.

Austin, Texas Dell computers https://bensbargains.com/s/dell-refurbished/ . My Uncle Larry Anderson's family old ranch in Austin, Texas is now the Dell Corporate Headquarters. My cousin Larry before he retired use to do free legal aid. Uncle Larry's family were fourth generations Texans. His nephew from the Osborne family in Culver, Indiana was the president of Northern Trust Bank at one time, and the Osborne family started the Illinois Central Railroad with money they made in the Philippines, but I am not sure if the different branches of the Osborne family are related. My grandfather Scott worked for the Illinois Central Railroad for sixty years and was a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason, so he probably saw a lot of people, if one wants to see a lot of people. Most the male monarchs of Europe are involved with the various Masonic orders. Also George Gordon Cary's maternal grandmother was from the Osborne family, and her husband Jay Coogan the last living member of Queen Victoria's honor guard was the President of the Illinois Central Railroad and W. Averill Harriman first worked for walking the track for the Illinois Central Railroad. I do not know if railroads make any money anymore with all of the expenses, but I think some of the internet telecommunications lines might run along the various railroad tracks, so maybe the railroad lease the space where the telegraphs once ran. Railroads since they cover a lot of areas have multiple railroad houses along the tracks and since they travel around and see more, railroad people like truckers might know more.

If Henry Cabot Lodge IV can not handle legal problems up around www.nantucket.net with all of the Old Guard up there, I found a retired lawyer on mainland who knows how to sail whom might be able to handle some legal affairs of the well traveled younger generations. He went to Harvard Law School and is well connected in the New York City area https://www.rbf.org/people/david-rockefeller-jr , but when I first ventured into Manhattan in January 1973 I had two sisters that worked as paralegals at David Polk and Wardwell https://www.davispolk.com/ and Cravath Swain and Moore https://www.cravath.com/ down at the www.chase.com plaza on Wall Street. They seem to have a lot of lawyers for complicated matters. Out in Chicago, there is a law firm with two thousand lawyers that handles www.gm.com affairs. Also my father's first wife's Coon family paid to start the https://www.law.northwestern.edu/ . Locally with Frick family members in the New York area besides them being from Pittsburgh, where they probably also have a law firm, the United States Supreme Court Justice Roberts was born in Buffalo, New York; when his father was working for Bethlehem Steel a Frick company before he went to Harvard Law. On the international front I have a distant relative whom is a Justice at the World Court at the Hague. Another diseased relative used to be the Assistant District Attorney in Tulsa, where the Getty family were from. The person that I built the garage apartment in Plandome Manor, Long Island had a lawyer who lived on Round Hill Road in Greenwich. Locally I have a relative who is lawyer with https://www.milbank.com/en/ . My mother's lawyer in Kennebunkport, Maine is also a judge up there. I have another classmate from Taft who is a Federal Judge in Washington D.C. and another Taft Classmate's father was a Federal Judge in Manhattan, and another Taft Classmate is a Federal Judge in Boston. A Lake Forest College classmate is a District Attorney in Denver. I do not know too much about the legal profession, but laws change all of the time, so if one is going to study the legal profession, one needs a new set of expensive law books. Also another Lake Forest College classmate is a lawyer in Boston, and his family have a house next to the Robert Kennedy house in Hyannisport. I also know the son of a judge in White Plains, New York. I figured out lawyers are very expensive, so it might be better to hire a lot of graduate law students to flood the courts with a lot of legal paper work that some law clerk would have to read. I know when I worked in expediting in traffic for Daniel Construction in Greenville, South Carolina now a part of www.fluor.com , the set of Interstate Commerce Regulations books were twice as long as the Encyclopedia Britannica. Also Fred Von Mierers' lawyer was William Polk Cary whose family started Davis Polk.

05/27/23 Saturday 1:45 A.M.. Back in the period from October 1978 to December 1980, when I drove out to the West Coat three and a half times and flew one and a half times, and Ronald Reagan got elected, the rich Democrats around the Watson family democrats did not like my perspective. I do know when Tom Watson Junior was Jimmy Carter's ambassador to Russia, he drove a Volvo across Russia, but that was about the only news story about him here. I also know one of Dwight David Eisenhower's granddaughters married a Russian General. Three of the round trips across America were in a 1971 yellow Subaru I bought on Nantucket for $150, and I put a new clutch in it myself. I had to get the exhaust welded near Philadelphia. At the Grand Canyon, the oil plug would not work, and a local garage put in one of those oil plug things with a smaller oil plug. In Midland, Texas the gasoline attendant did not close the hood properly, and the hood flew up on Interstate 10, and cracked the windshield. In Laguna Beach, the start motor quit working, and I roll start car out there. I never did find a replacement windshield in the junk yard out there. At Manchester Auto Parts in Anaheim, California, I found a front blinker lens. On the way back east in Dillon, Colorado, I found in a Sears Tire Dump two used Continental snow tires with studs that the Amaco station put on for $2.50 apiece. In Russell, Kansas; the garage off Interstate 80 put in a new water hose late on Saturday night for $20. In Abilene, Kansas at the Subaru Buick garage, I found the starter motor solenoid fork that I put in outside the Eisenhower Museum with four cadets from Eisenhower Military Academy watching me. Back down in Fort Lauderdale, I found the replacement windshield at a junk yard with lots of old Subarus, and I bought it for my waterproof floating Panasonic radio that I bought at Radio Shack on Nantucket for $30. I also got an air conditioning system for the car, and that Christmas, when I was house sitting for the Burns Security people in Greenwich up on North Street, I put in the air conditioning system, but it never worked when I got back down to Daytona, Florida. The following fall, I think when I was in Port Washington, Long Island, I put in near aluminum brake drums which cost about a $100. For oil changes and spark plugs, I was able to buy the parts at K Mart, since they were the same as Datsun parts. In Williamstown, Massachusetts I got tune up part at K Mart, and I bought a $8 timing light. Gasoline as only 52 cents a gallon and the Subaru got 52 miles per gallon. Howard Hughes designed the original Subaru based on aeronautics, which is why there were a lot of Subarus near Hughes Medical in Fort Lauderdale. They tested them on a track there, when they first came to this country. In Laguna Beach on the first trip, I put a lot of bondo in the rust spots, and I primed and painted them. In August 1980, I gave it in trade to John Delia at the Subaru Dealership in Greenwich for 1971 Volvo Coupe for $1,750, and later that evening four of Howard Hughes' blond guys on motorcycles with Connecticut Plates from California robbed me of my travel funds which were in a Jansport back pack in the trunk. I had a little bit of money left, so I drove back out to California and camped out next to Reagan's ranch, and the day after Reagan was elected, I sold the Volvo for a cash for your car place at the entrance to Disney Land for $1,250 cash, and I flew back East thinking some of Reagan's guys would give me a job, but I just ended up freezing in Manhattan with former Secretary of State Cyrus Vance's head of word processing at 315 West 74th Street. I think I once has some exhaust work done at Midas, but I can not recall. I used a Sears Craftsman socket and wrench set. I learned the new Subarus are made in Indiana. A relative who was in the Air Force in Korea and lived in Washington D.C. used to drive a Subaru in Kennebunkport, Maine and New Hampshire. They used to have cast iron radiator parts and Eagle Electric parts. Eagle Electric use to have a big warehouse by the Queensboro Bridge in Queens near the Marathon Oil gasoline station. That was the way to Long Island that Helen Kress Williams taught me, so one did not have to pay a bridge or tunnel toll. Helen knew Eleanor Roosevelt and Alice Roosevelt, so she had a large network of frugal friends from the Great Depression.

When I used Windows air conditioners, I used to put them in front of the window air conditioner to blow the air around the apartment. With the 50% increase in electricity rate this past January 2023, I am trying to use not as much air conditioning anymore except for when it goes above 80 degrees Fahrenheit in the living room. There are lots of fans at CVS this time of year, but they are now more expensive.

The last time I was on Long Island despite my view of it here was to go to a Microsoft Conference at the Hyatt Hotel out on Hauppauge, Long Island near Macarthur Field airport about twenty years ago. I got there early, and I saw a white man there who was six feet tall and six feet wide not around, so despite the conference having a thousand vegans who looked liked they never had a decent meal, there was adequate security. I did notice they had rebuilt the Long Island Distressway and there were a lot of new offices out there, so I guess Long Island got busier from when I was out there in Plandome Manor building the garage apartment from April 1982 to February 1983. I only took Christmas Day off back then, and after a bit of travel including Oslo, Norway, I ended up back on www.nantucket.net before I returned to Greenwich on December 13, 1983. Between then and the last trip, I did visit the friend out on Plandome Manor for dinner and also to cut an opening from the house to the garage apartment, and I also visited a friend out on Sands Point, Long Island several times including dinner with a half dozen friends in the carriage house. I think on my last trip back from Vero Beach, Florida about ten years ago, I also landed out at Kennedy airport, which I think is out there on Long Island, so technically that might have been my last trip. The Queen of Sweden is also from Brazil, and I once chatted with her daughter her the Crown Princess in Greenwich on the pier on Steamboat Road. I saw her father the King of Sweden sitting in Starbucks, and he told me, if I ever visit Sweden, I will end up sitting in a coffee shop. I probably would sit outside, so I could smoke cigar cigarettes though. I then went to the Acme grocery store at 160 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a 48 ounce Silk vanilla almond milk for $4 and two 16 ounce cans of Dole mandarin oranges for $2.29 each less 5% senior discount of .23 for $8.35 total. 05/13/23 Saturday 9:20 P.M.. After the last note, I went downtown to the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park, and I sat out for a long time. I went over to www.cvs.com , and I bought buy one get one 50% off of CVS 24 capsule Allergy relief pills for $8.23 both. I then sat out in the park some more. I then drove down to the Board of Education Parking Lot Veterans Monument, and I sat out for a long time. I then used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com . I then sat out some more. I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue. From the clearance section, I bought a four pack of croissants for $2.99, and also two 8 ounce Wish Bone zesty Italian dressing for $2 each, and a 6 ounce bag of baby spinach for $3.29 and a 8 ounce Stop and Shop grated parmesan and Romano cheese for $4.79 for $15.07 total. I then returned home. I picked up the mail. I put the coronation issue of Time magazine on the shelf of the center hallway bookcase. I put away the groceries.
I took a dinner plate, and I put three ounces of baby spinach leaves on it. I then cut the rest of the cold eye round of beef in half inch strips, and I put it on the plate. I then put three ounces of Cracker Barrel Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese diced. I then put on a diced quarter of a Bermuda onion and grated parmesan cheese. I then covered it with Ken's Steak House Caesar dressing. I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice. I went outside, and I put the grey bag back in the car. I drank a brewed coffee outside. I filed this report. I will now go outside again. CIO

The last time, I drove down to Washington D.C. in January 1991 when it was zero degree Fahrenheit, I drove with a cold weather friend that had gone to college way up in upstate New York https://www.stlawu.edu/ and also had lived at Stowe, Vermont. However, after the visit the friend drove down to the Scott family plantation in Virginia to go Quail Hunting. I took the Amtrak back to Stamford, Connecticut, and I chatted the whole way with a Joshua Epsbury from Lakeville, Connecticut which school there Hotchkiss competes with the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut in sports. Also Henry Ford Junior went to Hotchkiss, so they probably have a bit of extra money there. Two of Henry Ford's nephews did attend Taft and Lake Forest College with me, but they were not amused when I was not driving my Mustang Convertible from Boston there, and instead bought a 1951 300 B Adinhauer Mercedes Benz there for $300 https://www.facebook.com/mikelouisscott009/photos_by , but my father's first wife was the daughter of Owen Coon who started the largest automobile finance company in America out of Chicago, so the various automobile manufacturers probably knew him trying to sell their cars. Even the last time I visited Washington D.C. around January 1991, when it was zero degree Fahrenheit and George H.W. Bush was down in Argentina, I went out for a night walk from the old Dutch Inn in Georgetown now the Graham Hotel, and I walked down Pennsylvania Avenue past the White House which I had toured in the daytime, and I stopped by the Astria Book Store on Pennsylvania Avenue, and got a cup of coffee and bought a book, and I chatted with somebody that looked like a former www.lakeforest.edu roommate on the Farm and back to the hotel. I guess my relatives did have to do grocery shopping. I also worked on maintaining our many multiple houses in the area. I chatted with a friend that is having a new 30 gallon hot water heater installed. The old 60 gallon hot water heaters with the extra insulation are too big to fit into his closet area where the hot water heater is. My friends from Sea Island, Georgia are going to visit Manhattan in the end of May for their Barnard College reunion. They are not going to his Yale reunion though. CIO

When one works out on www.nantucket.net as a dish washer pot scrubber and food prepper and cleaner and baker like I did between 1977 and 1983 for long seasons at the Gordon Folger Hotel and the Le Languedoc restaurant and a few other places like Henry's bakery, the Nantucket bakery, the Club Car and India House; one learns a bit about cooking. I also worked on Lincoln Avenue as a painter on the beautiful old second oldest house on Nantucket restoring it and I also the last thing I did was paint the trim on Admiral Halsey's house. I also worked from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. lunch shift, and then I would jog out to the airport beach and rest and jog back, and then I would work the 4 P.M. to 4 A.M. shift. I hardly every took a day off too, and everything on Nantucket is 25% more expensive, because as a island most everything has to be imported. 05/08/23 Monday 8:15 A.M.. I moved the two walkie talkies from the Vizio TV to on the floor in front of the left living room stainless steel cart. On the Vizio TV setup, the Amazon Fire TV Cube was not working, but I was able to reset it by pressing the volume down button the mute button on it. I then setup it up again, and it now works just fine on the Vizio TV on HDMI 1.
