Note: <888> 12/31/08 Wednesday 7:30 P.M..  I chatted with a relative.  I removed the small screws from the back of the Dell Latitude CS laptop computer, and I was not able to open its top half all of the way, but I was able to open it far enough to disconnect the power connector the CMOS laptop batteries.  I will leave it disconnected fifteen minutes to be on the safe side.  I will then reconnect it, and close up the case.  That should solve any password problems on the Dell Latitude CS laptop computer.  It might have an operating system on it, but if Ubuntu installs, it might be faster.  It says it has Windows 98 on it on the label.  I can do anything more until, I get the power supply this Saturday.  I can not install anything on it until I get the DVD drive holder this coming Monday.  CIO

I went outside, and I threw out the garbage.  I decided not to clean the couple of inches of powdered snow off the Audi, since if we get sleet or ice later on, it will keep the ice from sticking to the car.  I chatted with a neighbor.   A long time neighbor downstairs is moving out of the building.  I picked up my mail.  I moved the Panasonic 14 inch television by the French reproduction chair a bit further back, and I set up the Dell Latitude CS laptop computer at that location with its docking station, so once I get the power supply and DVD drive case, I can install Ubuntu on it, if it does work.  I might have to figure out how to open it up the Dell laptop case in case I need to short the CMOS to void a password in the CMOS setup.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I paid the Budget Amount at www.cl-p.com .  I received back the $21.45 amount that they had charged me for the Microsoft Money 2007 that would not install.  CIO

One could use some sort of device to push a thread through the eye holes and have the leather shoe laces attached to the thread or thin string to pull the leather shoes laces through the side eye holes.  CIO

I clipped my finger nails.  Since winter seems to have arrived here, we once again probably have to start up the "Freezing Norwegian Patrol" which is the Norwegian equivalent of the "Dutch Night Watch".  Not that Norwegians ever get too cold around here, but in the colder weather it helps for any volunteers at night to try to keep an eye on the local environment in case anything should go wrong.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  Have a good night.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/29/08 Monday 10:50 P.M..  I went out after the last note.  I found a small car battery jump start device that I had bought about a year and a half ago, and I had it store away in the bedroom.  I hooked it up to the Audi cigarette lighter, and I have its switch turned away from the cigarette light, so after a half hour of driving it will be charged up.  I will leave it in the Audi for a few days to charge it up.  To jump start the Audi, one would move the switch towards the cigarette lighter, and one would leave it that way for 10 minutes, and then one would try to start the car.  Who knows it might work in an emergency, but I have the bigger jump start units inside.  I will put the smaller unit inside, once I think it is fully charged up.   I went by the Chase Bank ATM machine on Mason Street.  I then went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I stopped by the Senior and the Arts center, and I used the bathroom.  I chatted with a younger custodian there from Peru, and I gave him my calling card.  He had a laptop computer, but he was not online, and I told him if he used www.optimum.net at home, there was wireless Optimum downtown and at the train station.  He tried, it and he found the connection.  I think you need to use your Optimum password to access it.  I stopped by Zyn's stationary, and they told me the owner would be there in the morning, if I wanted to sell them any of my extra lithium disk batteries.  I stopped by CVS, and I bought four 4.2 ounce tubes of Crest Pro Whitener toothpaste for $2.50 each and six 5.75 ounce tubes of Pringle sour cream and onion potato chips for $1 each and .60 tax for $16.60 total.  To Date, I have year to date savings on my CVS card of $873.37.  After my walk, I went by the Greenwich Library, and I chatted with a few regulars.  I then went by the Stop and Shop.  The Greenwich Automotive Services Exxon gasoline station next to the Greenwich Library after all of these years since July 1961, when I first moved here is now a Gulf station.  I guess I will continue to buy gasoline there, but there are both Mobil and Exxon stations near me on West Putnam Avenue not to mention the Shell Station.  I went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a day old Apple pie for $2.50, Wondabar German baloney for $2.99 a pound for $3.09, a 24 double roll package of heavy duty Charmin toilet paper for $11.99, three New York strip steaks for $4.99 a pound for $11.58 and fresh slightly green Chiquita bananas for .64 a pound for $1.57 and .72 tax for $31.45 total.  I have year to date savings on my Stop and Shop card of $513.69.  Thus both CVS and Stop and Shop savings cards saved me $1,387.06 this year, which on my income is quite a lot of money.  I then returned home.  I brought up my purchases and the mail, and I put away my purchases.  I received my new www.aarp.org renewal package with my new cards or stickers that I have already paid for.  I will now eat the last of the same Christmas dinner as the last four days, but without the Near East Long Grain and wild rice that I have already finished.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/27/08 Saturday 8:35 P.M..  I went out after the last note.  I went downtown, and I went by the Chase Bank ATM machine on Mason Street, and then I returned home.  I then went back by the Chase Bank on Mason Street.   I noticed that telescope across the way at the Pickwick Plaza on the second floor is pointed right at the rear entrance of the Bank of New York.  Possibly somebody is observing their customers' comings and goings.  I then went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I stopped by Starbucks, and I used the bathroom.  I went by the new Canadian TD bank TD Banknorth - Online Banking, Home Equity Loans, Investment Planning and Wealth Management at the northeast corner of Greenwich Avenue and Elm street, and I told them a few things about Canadian economics.   They have a shoe repair shop in the alley behind them on the north side of East Elm street.  I toured CVS for the zillionth time.  They will once again have toilet paper on sale again starting tomorrow, so after you go to church downtown, you can pick up your toilet paper and whatever else you need.  After I finished my walk, I sat out observing the usual amount of night time activity.  I then drove down by the waterfront on Steamboat Road, but I did not notice whether the lights were on out on Long Island, but today it was foggy, so possibly it is foggy out on the sound.  When I got back home, I did not have my cigarettes on me, so I must have left them on one of the benches downtown.  I chatted with a neighbor.  I ate a tangerine.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/27/08 Saturday 2:50 P.M..  I woke up at 9:30 A.M..  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with margarine, a glass of 50% passion punch and 50% cold filtered water with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes.   I made my bed.   I chatted with a friend.  I was told by Chase at 1-866-564-2262 that once the $21.45 charge for Microsoft Money 2007 has cleared, I can cancel it.  To have the capability to upload video on the internet, I ordered Digital Concepts 5.1MP 4x Digital Zoom Camera/Camcorder w/2.0" LCD Digital Concepts 35480 for $31.99 and $9 FedEx ground shipping for $40.99 total.  I threw out the garbage.  I picked up the mail.  I chatted with three relatives.  One of the relatives is leaving shortly for Hong Kong to go to school.  I will now eat a baloney and turkey and cheese sandwich with 1/4th of a tube of Pringle sour cream and onion potato chips and a dill pickle slice and watered down passion punch.  I will then shower and clean up, and I will go out to see if anyone bothered to show up downtown today.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/27/08 Saturday 3:50 A.M..  After the last note, I did some bottom fishing.  I found this link Sale Microsoft Money 2007 Deluxe downloadable | Software OEM Sales - OEM Market™. and I bought it for $14.95 and $6.50 download charge for $21.45.  However, either the download was defective, or it is a bogus operation.  I emailed the only form I could find to cancel the transaction, and if I do not hear from them later on today, I will call Chase to cancel the transaction.  I tried the download on the FIC server, and it did not work either.  It basically does not install any files, although it is about the right size download.  I tried turning off the antivirus program and the firewall, but from what I can tell, it might be a bogus site.  I restored the backups and made the few changes on both the primary Vista and the FIC server computers.  I lost today's email, but there was nothing that I can not live without.  I am a bit tired, so I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/26/08 Friday 8:50 P.M..  After dinner, I ate a tangerine instead of cranberry sauce.  I chatted with a relative.  I threw out the garbage and the old periodical literature.  I watered the plants.  I also moved my car to its usual location.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/26/08 Friday 5:15 P.M..  I woke up at 7:30 A.M.. I chatted with a relative.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I went out, and I went by the Chase Bank on Mason Street.  I then went  by the Greenwich Town Hall to the tax department, and I paid my property tax bill on the http://mikelouisscott.com/audi1998.htm for the amount of $32.62.  I then went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I stopped by the Senior and the Arts center, and I get a new parking permit for the year 2009.  I stopped by the Greenwich Hardware store, and they told me it costs $100,000 a year just to feed a horse.  I stopped by CVS, and I chatted with a neighbor's relative.  Neither place carries the 373 Energizer battery.  I finished my walk.  I used the bathroom at the Senior and the Arts center.  I also stopped by Charles Stuttig locksmith, and I got a second key made for my post office box.  I then drove down by the waterfront on Steamboat Road.  They have barricades blocking the pier on the waterfront.  I think it is too keep people from walking on the pier, since sea gulls take craps on the pier all of the time, and sea gull crap is extremely unsanitary and can be a health hazard unless one is accustomed to it.  They are building a new house on the harbor west side just south of the house with the Widow's Walk.  It looks to be high enough that it will not flood.   I next went by the Greenwich Library, and I chatted with locals.  I then went by the Greenwich Automotive Services Exxon gasoline station, and I bought $7 of self service premium at $2.299 a gallon for 3.044 gallons for 26.6 miles driving since Thursday a week ago at odometer reading of 62034 miles for 8.7385 miles per gallons driving.  I filled up the Audi on the east side of the station instead of the spot in front of the cashier, so possibly at that location, it takes more gasoline.  I then returned home.  I chatted with a neighbor.  I picked up my mail.  I received the $13 Visa Card rebate on the spare Thermaltake power supply, I bought for the FIC server.  I tested the new post box key, and it does work, but one has to pull it out a little bit and fiddle with it.  I chatted with a friend.  I will now cook and reheat and eat the same Christmas meal as last night.  I will also eat about 1/3rd of a can of a 12 ounce can of Ocean Spray cranberry sauce.  I know cranberry juice is good for the kidneys.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/25/08 Thursday 6:50 P.M..  I had a Merry Christmas.  I woke up at 5:30 A.M. this morning. I opened my Christmas gifts from a relative.  I got a XX Large dark olive green cashmere cardigan, and a Pulsar watch with an expandable band, but I need to put a new battery in it.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  Starbucks, Versailles, Zyn's stationary, the Greenwich Train station and CVS were opened.  During my walk, I stopped by Zyn's stationary, and I played for a dollar a #28 Holiday special scratch card, and I won $10 for $9 profit.  I viewed the Antique Car show room.  I walked over the far side of the train station area, and I toured the lower level parking garage dumpster area.  There are two discarded office chairs there along with various computer parts and a paper shredder.  I retrieved a Dell Latitude CS laptop computer that was missing its power supply and battery pack, a docking station for it, a keyboard and mouse for it, and a I/O Magic external DVD/RW drive with light scribe that was missing its power supply.  I put them in a red Salvatore Ferragamo http://www.salvatoreferragamo.it/ shopping bag that was by the dumpster area, and I carried them back up Greenwich Avenue to my car.  I then walked up to the top of Greenwich Avenue and over to the Chase Bank on Mason Street, and I put the $10 bill in the bank.  I then returned back via East Putnam Avenue by the north side of the street, and went to CVS, when they were opening.  I bought a twelve pack of 12 ounce Diet Cokes with lime in cans for $3.67 and .60 can deposit and .22 tax for $4.49 total.  During my walk, when I returned back to my car, I chatted with my relative, and I wished my relative Merry Christmas, and I thanked the relative for the presents.  I finished my walk.  After my walk, I drove down by the waterfront on Steamboat Road.  The new construction on that road is proceeding along.  I next returned home, and I brought up the items I purchased and found.  The Dell Latitude CS laptop has 400 MHz and 300 megs of memory Documentation Dell Latitude CS laptop .  It does not have a CD drive or floppy drive, but it has a USB port that one could use to install the Ubuntu operating system on it, if it works.  Laptops are suppose to work without battery packs.  I looked at Ebay, and one can get a power supply with shipping for it for about $16.  However, instead, I ordered this universal power supply that will work with a lot more different laptops Targus APA10US Mobile 70W Universal AC Adapter Targus APA10US for $19.99 and $9 FedEx ground shipping for $28.99 total.  The #9 adapter works with the Dell Latitude CS.

I then made and ate the same Christmas dinner as last year.

I started making Scott's Stuffing Recipie for Arnold Premium Stuffing to which recipe, I also added a few dashes of Maggi seasoning, two tablespoons of olive oil, and 25 diced dried apricots.   I also made up a package of Near East long grain and wild rice at the same time per the recipe on the box adding a tablespoon of olive oil instead of butter.   I put in an inch of water in a two quart Revere pot with steamer tray and lid, and I steamed 1.5 cups of baby carrots and broccoli crowns and diced sweet potato cubes.   I steamed them for 15 minutes over medium high electric burner heat, and I put them in a bowl with a little bit of margarine, seasoned with ground black pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning, with grated parmesan and Romano cheese and olive oil.   I also opened two 12 ounce jars of Heinz Home-style turkey gravy, and I added 1/2 of a 10 ounce box of mushrooms that I sliced into 1/16th inch thick slices and a teaspoon of dried parsley, and I simmer it over medium to low electric heat while doing the other cooking.   I cut one 1/2 inch thick slices of the Boars Head baked turkey breast, and I put it on a microwave proof plate with lid, and at the end of the other cooking cycles, I microwaved the turkey for 90 seconds on power level 6.   I put the Heinz turkey and mushroom low fat gravy on the turkey along with a 1/4th of the Near East rice mixture and a about 2 cups of the stuffing on a dinner plate.  I refrigerated the leftovers in Rubbermaid containers.   I ate it all with a glass of watered down passion punch.  I cleaned up the kitchen.  I made up a fresh batch of passion punch.  I threw out the garbage.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/24/08 Wednesday 10:15 P.M..  I threw the garbage outside.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/24/08 Wednesday 10:00 P.M..  I made and ate a three egg omelet with grated parmesan and Romano cheese and processed cheese along with five strips of bacon and a toasted English muffin with margarine and a glass of watered down passion punch.  I chatted with a relative.  The tangerines I got came from Winter Haven, Florida noble worldwide .  CIO

Note: <888> 12/24/08 Wednesday 8:10 P.M..  I ate a Florida tangerine.  I chatted with a fellow walker who use to be a Palm Beach, Florida Sheriff.  I chatted with the Desk at the Reach Resort down in Key West, Florida.  Basically, I have not learned anything new that I already did not know.  I received an invitation to attend Christmas Service at the St. Paul Lutheran Church here in Greenwich, but since my family here in Greenwich is Church of England out of the Round Hill Community Church in back country Greenwich, Connecticut up on Round Hill Road, if I ever had the time, I would go there.  The Round Hill Community Church became prosperous when the Seabury Conference Center was here, and it was part of the Church of England.  However, most people in Greenwich know about business, but they do not seem to know very much about religion.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/24/08 Wednesday 5:40 P.M..  I received the mail about 3 P.M..  I received a $30 Voucher for the Stop and Shop and the Old Greenwich Food Mart from the Greenwich, Connecticut department of social services.  I also received a $32.62 tax bill on my 1998 Audi A6 from the Town of Greenwich Tax department due at the end of January 2009.  I went out, and I went to the Stop and Shop, and I bought a 5 pound box of Florida tangerines for $4.77, a 6 ounce can of Black Pearl large olives for $1.67, two 12 ounce jars of Heinz home style turkey gravy for $1.50 each, a 6 ounce box of Near East mixed long grain and wild rice for $2.79, a two pack of Stop and Shop blue toilet tablets for $2.69, three Kraft Stove Top 6 ounce turkey stuffing for $1.50 each, a Boar's Head cooked boneless breast of turkey at $6.99 a pound for $9.16, a two pound bag of baby carrots for $2.50, two granny Smith apples for $1.49 a pound for $1.22, a 10 ounce box of fresh mushrooms for $1.99, a red pepper for $2.99 a pound for $1.50, two yams at .50 a pound for $.64 for $36.43, but with the $30 voucher, I only paid $6.43.  I then went across the street to the A&P Fresh, and I bought a 15 ounce bag of the Arnold Premium Seasoned stuffing for $2.50.  They were sold out of Arnold Stuffing at the Stop and Shop.  I then returned home, and I put away my purchases.  For the Christmas holidays, it is nice to have a warm apartment.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/24/08 Wednesday 2:30 P.M..   At Slickdeals.net , I ordered the two sided dog tag from www.artscow.com for $1.99.  I have the picture of myself at Tod's Point last Easter on the front, and the picture of myself by the telephone booth in Amsterdam in 1992.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/24/08 Wednesday 2:05 P.M..  I checked the mail a couple of times, and I chatted with neighbors.  The mail still has not arrived yet.  I watched a bit of television.  It is a cold damp raw day out, but at least it is not snow so far.  Apparently a lot of Christmas travelers are stuck in the Midwest because of snow conditions out there.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/24/08 Wednesday 12:40 P.M..  I turned the living room thermostat from "Off" to 76 degrees Fahrenheit, and I turned on the two living room tower fans to blow the heat around.  That should put the living room at about 72 degrees Fahrenheit in a little while.  I only turn the heat on now around Christmas time and during very cold days during the winter.  It is nice to feel a bit warmer.  I am listening to the Nutcracker Suite on the apartment stereo system.   CIO

Note: <888> 12/24/08 Wednesday 11:05 A.M..  I called up the AT&T store at 12 West Putnam Avenue at 1-203-629-8008, and they told me, one can not activate the same SIM card on more than one AT&T Go Phone.  I called up somebody out of town to wish them Merry Christmas.  I guess I will now eat a baloney and turkey and cheese sandwich with 1/4th of a 5.5 ounce tube of Pringle sour cream and onion potato chips and a dill pickle slice and a glass of watered down passion punch.  I will then shower and clean up, and I will get ready to wait for the mail person to arrive.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/24/08 Wednesday 10:10 A.M..  I still have not received my $25 Christmas Food Voucher from the Greenwich, Connecticut Department of Social Services.  It is good both at the Stop and Shop and the Old Greenwich Food Mart.  However, on Christmas Eve, the Stop and Shop is only open until 6 P.M., so since the United States Post Office delivered the mail here yesterday at 3 P.M., if the Food Voucher does come in the mail today, it will probably be a close call making it to the Stop and Shop to get my Christmas dinner.  If I don't get it, I can just eat a Stouffer's 21 ounce frozen lasagna that I have in the freezer.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/20/08 Saturday 7:20 A.M..  I woke up at 4 A.M..  I bundled up warmly.  I went outside, and I cleaned about six inches of snow off my Audi.  I moved it to a clean parking space that the snow plow truck had cleaned out.  I chatted with a neighbor doing the same thing.  I cleaned the snow off the benches in front of the building.  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with margarine, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes.   I made the bed.  Yesterday, I chatted with a friend too.  I chatted with another friend this morning.  I will now shower and clean up.  I figure there is no point in going downtown, and I will wait probably until Monday, after the storm tonight and tomorrow has cleared up a bit.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/19/08 Friday 8:00 P.M..  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  Stay warm.  It says in the www.nytimes.com that Connecticut could get up to 14 inches of snow.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/19/08 Friday 6:05 P.M..  When I did my house cleaning, I also cleaned out the water scum from inside the toilet tank, and I put the last Stop and Shop blue toilet tablet in it.  Alas, they no longer sell Borax blue toilet tablets around here.  I will now make and eat the same dinner as the last two nights.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/19/08 Friday 5:45 P.M..   I just recharged my 25 cent a minute AT&T Pay As You Go Nokia 2610 Go Phone AT&T GoPhone with $25 more time for the next three months with a $1.50 tax for $26.50 total.  Since I do not let my account expire, I can roll over my unused time, so I now have $77.15 left on my account until March 19, 2009.  I woke up at 6:30 A.M. this morning.  I went outside to check the weather.  I said good morning to a neighbor who was waiting for the Crystal Spring Water truck to arrive, but was confused that Poland Spring was here for another neighbor, but the Crystal Spring water truck arrived shortly there after for a delivery.  I checked my two remote door car keys for the Audi with the new CR1620 lithium disk batteries, and they did not work at first, but after fiddling with them, I finally figured out they have to be reactivated by sticking them in the door lock or ignition, and they both now work fine at much greater distance with the new CR1620 batteries.  I chatted with several neighbors.  I cleaned off the frost off the Audi windows.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I went out without eating breakfast.  I went over to the Greenwich Hospital laboratory, and I had blood drawn for my physical lab work.  I then returned home.   For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with margarine, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes.   I made the bed.  I threw out the garbage and the old periodical literature.  About 11 A.M. it started to snow.  Right now we have about six inches of snow on the ground.  I did some bottom fishing on the internet.  I watered the plants, and I added 10 drop of Schultz liquid plant food to each quart of water that I used.  I did my house cleaning that I had not done in a month.  A Christmas gift arrived from a relative.  I had two bothersome neighbor telephone calls.  I have asked the neighbor not to bother me, since the neighbor frequently wakes me up, when I am on a night schedule.  I picked up the mail.   Earlier I ordered FRYS.com | Inland (05554) USB laptop light for $3.99 with free shipping.  They are currently sold out.  I thought it might be handy to use with my nine year old Toshiba laptop, if I had to use it in the dark in an emergency. CIO

Note: <888> 12/19/08 Friday 12:15 A.M..  Before dinner, I chatted with a relative.  After dinner, I chatted with a friend about the price of tea in China.  I installed two of the CR1620 Lithium batteries in the each of the Audi remote keys.  I stored the four old batteries in the new packaging.  I put the CR1620 lithium batteries with the other batteries on the sideboard in the bedroom.  My blood pressure today was 110 over 74, which is suppose to be all right.  I am a bit tired, so I will shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  The National Weather Service Advisory for Fairfield County, Connecticut is now ambiguous, but from what I can make of it, they have cancelled the winter snow storm watch National Weather Service Watch Warning Advisory Summary .  I checked with the Greenwich Police non emergency number at 1-203-622-8000, press 0 for dispatch, and they said I should check with some of the other weather sites.  From what I know most of them get their weather information from the National Weather Service.  I am a bit tired, so I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  I think I will do house cleaning tomorrow.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/18/08 Thursday 8:15 P.M..  I went out after the last note.  I chatted with some neighbors.  I went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop, and I toured their Holiday display.  Books are half price.  I then went to the Greenwich Hospital Outpatient Clinic for my annual physical.  I have a new 1/3rd inch diameter black spot on my back that I will have to see the dermatologist for.  I have a blood blister on my left foot big toe that I have had since I dropped a book on my toe, when I was throwing out the five hundred books last July 2008.  The intern from Little Rock, Arkansas said that my left ear had wax build up in it.  I have to get my lab work done next week and go back for a follow up after the first of the year.  I also have to schedule an appointment for a colonoscopy, which they do next door to the Chase Bank on West Putnam Avenue.  Thus I seem to have survived another year so far.  I went to my other regular appointment.  I then went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center.  I stopped by CVS, and I browsed their holiday display.  I sat out for a while.  I then used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center.  I then went by the Greenwich Library, and I chatted with one of the reference librarians about the weather.   I then went by the Greenwich Automotive Services Exxon station, and I bought $6 of self service premium unleaded gasoline for $2.399 a gallon for 2.581 gallons for 31.5 miles driving since a week ago Tuesday at odometer reading of 62006 miles for 12.20457 miles per gallon in mostly local traffic.  I cleaned the outside car windows.  When I started the Audi, the 62,000 mile INSPECT light came on the trip odometer, and I have to figure out how to reset it, since all of the maintenance to date has been done on the Audi.  I reset the trip odometer when I got home, since one can not reset it, when the INSPECT light is on.  I then went by the A&P Fresh, and I bought three 16 ounce boxes of Land-O-Lakes margarine for $1 each, a 26 ounce Mrs. Smith's Cherry pie for $2.49, two 12 packs of Thomas' English muffins for $1.99 each 12 pack, a 36 ounce bag of Eight O'clock Hazelnut coffee beans for $14.99, buy one head get one head free of California broccoli for $2.49 both, a pound of baby carrots for $2.99, a 8 ounce container of Cool Whip lite for .99, Arnold 12 grain bread for $3.99, and a 8 pack of America's Choice hot dog buns for $1.69 for $32.81 total.  I then returned home.  I chatted with a neighbor.  I gave the neighbor a partially used Bic lighter.  The building custodian is putting out more Italian lights at the front entrance in the trees before it possibly snows.  I picked up the mail.  The Netgear Print Server power adapter arrived for Netgear PS121 USB Mini Print Server for Network Printer - eBay (item 230306898726 end time Dec-10-08 14:33:51 PST) refurbished for $14.95 with free shipping that I had already received.  The order for $16 100 CR1620 Batteries 3V; FAST, FREE SHIPPING CR 1620 - eBay (item 310106690210 end time Jan-05-09 04:24:59 PST) arrived.  I put away the groceries.  I have a lot of bread products in the freezer, which I will use up fairly fast during the rest of the month.  I put the Netgear power supply with the Netgear Print server setup, and I moved the temporary power supply back to the small DVD player on the small Panasonic television by the French reproduction chair.  When one uses the Netgear Print Server with the Samsung color laser printer, you have to turn on the power to the Samsung color laser printer first and the Samsung Color laser printer, and then turn on the Netgear Print server power adapter.  Since both are on the same power strip, the only way to do that is to disconnect the Netgear print server power adapter from the print server, and then connect it once the Samsung color laser printer is turned on.  I will now make and reheat the same dinner as last night.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/18/08 Thursday 10:30 A.M..  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will eat a baloney, turkey, and sliced process cheese sandwich with a glass watered down passion punch, and 1/4th of a 5.5 ounce tube of Pringle sour cream and onion potato chips and a dill pickle spear.  I will then shower and clean up, and I will go out for my afternoon medical appointments.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/18/08 Thursday 9:40 A.M..  I chatted with a relative.  For those of us whom can not afford to escape the winter weather down south, one should have ordered L.L.Bean: Search Results Union Suits by now.  For those of you whom can afford to escape tomorrow's snow storm on a moments notice Key West Hotel Resorts & Florida Keys Beach Accommodations - Casa Marina Resort Key West is a logical way to escape the winter storm's fury.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/18/08 Thursday 8:30 A.M..  I printed out a copy of my Christmas letter without the pictures, and I tacked it on the laundry room bulletin board.  The building custodian is using the wireless internet available in the building, and he is surfing the internet with his new $1,700 Apple laptop computer.  It seems to be faster than my setup.  I went outside, and I chatted with a neighbor.

Snow forecast for tomorrow Greenwich, Connecticut (06830) Conditions & Forecast : Weather Underground .  I guess since I only have about a 1/4th of an inch tread to 3/8th of inch tread on my tires on the Audi, I will not be going out in the snow tomorrow.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/18/08 Thursday 7:20 A.M..  I woke up at 9 P.M., and I chatted with a relative.  I ate a bowl of white Cheez-its and five dried apricots.   I went back to bed until 4:30 A.M..  I threw out the garbage, and I picked up the mail from yesterday.  It is clear today, but it is suppose to snow tomorrow.  I have a 1 P.M. medical appointment today.  It was seven degrees Fahrenheit in Kennebunkport, Maine this morning, but the electricity is back on in the relative's house up there.  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with margarine, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes.   I made the bed.  I chatted with a friend.  It is interesting in this latest ponzi scheme in the news, the media tells whom lost money, but they neglect to tell whom made money off the ponzi scheme.  I installed the Internet Explorer 7 update on the primary Vista computer and the FIC server.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/17/08 Wednesday 1:15 P.M..  I made and ate a breaded boneless chicken breast with a half portion of the flavored rice mixture I make along with a bowl of steamed broccoli and carrots with margarine on it and a glass of watered down passion punch.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will take a nap.  CIO

CIO

Note: <888> 12/17/08 Wednesday 10:40 A.M..  I went outside, and I threw the garbage away.  I moved the Audi to its usual location.  I chatted with neighbors.  The remote control for the Sansui television in the community room disappeared.  I helped a neighbor look for it, but we could not find it.  I went back upstairs.  I had a smaller Zenith Universal three digit remote control with its instructions that I bought from Odd Job about ten years ago for about $3.  I put two new AAA alkaline batteries in it, and I programmed it downstairs for the Sansui television with code "115".  I gave it to the neighbor that watches television the most to hang on to.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/16/08 Tuesday 8:15 P.M..  On second thought, I know that automobile batteries do not work well, when they get colder, so perhaps it is not a good idea to stick the Lithium disk batteries in the freezer.   I have noticed that some of my neighbors no longer sit outside at night having cigarettes, so perhaps the Carolina Red Wolf is still in the area.  CIO

Noel's Fairfield sent Madoff $7.3 billion as funds earned fees. - Greenwich Time

I showered, and I cleaned up.  I went out, and I chatted with neighbors.  I went by the Chase Bank on Mason Street.  I prefer the Chase Bank on Mason street to the new branch they are constructing at the old Harvey Electronics building, since the Chase Bank on Mason Street has a much safer traffic flow for gaining access to the parking lot compared to the location just west of Greenwich Avenue on West Putnam Avenue.  I then went by CVS, and I picked up a prescription.  They do not carry the 395 and the 1620 lithium batteries there, and the Energizer CR2032 costs $4.99 plus tax.  I then went to my 3 P.M. appointment.  I found a St. Christopher metal on the ground outside of my 3 P.M. appointment, so I put it on the zipper latch on my passport case that I carry with me.  My 3 P.M. appointment told me, I should keep my lithium batteries in the freezer, which I will do.  They are suppose to last longer in the freezer.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a 8 pack of Freihoffer hot dog buns for $2.89, a six pack of Stop and Shop bagels for $2.59, a six pack of White Gem boneless breasts of chicken for $1.99 a pound for $7.56, fresh Chiquita bananas for .64 a pound for $1.50 for $14.54 total.  I then returned home.  I chatted with neighbors.  I picked up the mail.  I put away my groceries.  When I was taking off my regular Swiss Army watch, the back came off, so I will leave it off, until I get the new 395 lithium batteries, and I will put the back on securely, once I have a new battery installed in it.  I can not seem to get it to snap shut on it, they way it use to.  I will now make and eat the same sautéed steak and vegetable dinner with a glass of watered down passion punch.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/14/08 Sunday 1:00 P.M..  I did some bottom fishing on the internet.  Not many bargains if any available before  Christmas.  I watched some vintage talking pictures on the television.  I chatted with a friend.  Not much happening around here.  I am a bit tired, and it is still a bit cold in the apartment, so I think I will shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  More than likely the ice storm that happened to the north of us could happen down here in the near future as the weather gets colder later on this coming winter.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/14/08 Sunday 11:00 A.M..  I chatted with a relative.  I made up another batch of passion punch.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/14/08 Sunday 9:20 A.M..   I ate the same sautéed steak and vegetable dinner as two nights ago.  I chatted with a relative.  I will now shower and clean up.  I probably will not go out, since I am a bit tired after being awake 25 hours straight yesterday and the day before.  CIO

I will now send out my weekly notes.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/14/08 Sunday 4:50 A.M..  I was up at 2:15 A.M..  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with margarine, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes.   I put clean linens on the bed.  I am doing two loads of laundry, and I have 40 minutes to go on the dry cycle.   On Friday night Saturday morning about 12:30 A.M., when I was walking down Greenwich Avenue, I heard a loud metallic sound like a garbage can lid falling or a sniper rifle firing.  However, from past experience of 25 years of walking on Greenwich Avenue, that sound as I now recall is usually a young kid on a skateboard practicing in the early morning hours.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/13/08 Saturday 8:05 P.M..  After the last note, I chatted with a relative.  Apparently all of the rain that we had down here was an ice storm up in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, and in Kennebunkport, Maine the electricity is off.  Thus people with homes there are worrying about their pipes freezing.  I had a bit of a problem doing the final backup of the FIC server to the Bytecc external hard drive.  I had earlier restored the backup and updated and configured the Samsung Color laser printer with it, however although I did a backup to the internal hard drive, I could not get the backup to work to the Bytecc external hard drive.  I finally figured out the problem.  The seven port USB 2.0 hub on the FIC server was causing the problem, so I was finally able to get the backup to the Bytecc external hard drive by connecting it directly to the rear USB 2.0 port.  I chatted with a relative.  I am a bit tired, so I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/13/08 Saturday 2:55 P.M..  I installed the Samsung CLP-315 software and the Netgear PS121-V2 software on the five other desktop computers.  I then backed them up to their internal and the external hard drives.  The Epox computer was still acting a little buggy with its new video card, so I installed the Microsoft ATI Radeon X1300 default driver in both partitions, and it now seems to work all right as opposed to the downloadable ATI driver that I had installed.   I have not had enough time to test it out to see if it is all right now.  I also reseated the PNY 1 gigabyte memory strip that I put in the Epox computer.  To use the Samsung color laser printer on the network computers, one has to start the Netgear Print Server software called "Netgear PS121v2 Smart Wizard" from the icon on the desktop, and then select the Samsung color laser printer as the printer when printing.  However, I do not use it much, since it costs 5 to 10 cents a copy.  I chatted with a friend.  I ate a bowl of white cheddar Cheez-its.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/13/08 Saturday 5:20 A.M..  The power supply did not arrive with the Netgear PS121, so I used the similar generic universal one from my small DVD player.  It is suppose to be 9 volt .5 amp.  I will have to email them to send me one.  I set up the Netgear PS121 printer server to the right of the Matsonic computer using its power strip.  I strung a new LAN cable to it from the router, and I connected its USB cable to the Samsung color laser printer.  I installed the software for the Netgear Print Server PS121 on the primary Vista computer, and it works just fine.  I will now set it up on the other computers on the network.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/13/08 Saturday 2:30 A.M..  Today is His Highness the Aga Khan's 72nd Birthday - Mowlana Hazar Imam's 72nd Birthday - December 13, 2008 .  In the old days, when his grandfather was the world's richest person, his grandfather who was quite fat got his weight in precious jewels on his birthday, the income from which was used for his various charities.  Now that the world is more modern, I think the current Aga Khan will be lucky if he gets his weight in coffee beans.  I woke about 4 P.M., when UPS delivered UPS: Tracking Information on the order for Nokia 2610 (Refurb) - GoPhone® (Pay As You Go) Cell Phone - | Wireless from AT&T, formerly Cingular refurbished for $9.99 and .60 tax with free shipping for $10.59 total.  Also outside the door was tracking at www.usps.com is "9101805213907080824509" on the order for Netgear PS121 USB Mini Print Server for Network Printer - eBay (item 230306898726 end time Dec-10-08 14:33:51 PST) refurbished for $14.95 with free shipping.  I put them on the oak dining table, and I went back to bed until 7 P.M..  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with margarine, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.  I chatted with a relative.  I put the spare cell phone in its box and its other information on the white wicker rack at the bedroom entrance.  I will install the Netgear Printer server and its drivers on the network computers in a little while.  I then threw out the garbage and the old periodical literature.  I brought up the mail.  I watered the plants.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I chatted with a friend.  I then went downtown, and I went by the Chase Bank on Mason street, and I used the ATM machine there.  I noticed the telescope is still in the window at the Pickwick Plaza, and it looks to be pointed at the building across the street where the Bank of New York Trust department might be.  I then walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I viewed the Carriage House Motors show room.  They have a vintage 1958 to 1965 Mercedes Benz 220 Convertible in two tone in cream and burgundy with medium burgundy upholstery.  When I was at www.lfc.edu , I owned one in the winter of 1971 that I bought for $850, but after paying that much again for a valve job at Loeber Mercedes in Chicago, which turned out it only needed a new fuel filter, I sold it for $1,500 to an auto restoration person from California, and I used what money was left to buy a St. Bernard puppy for $300 at the senior class auction.   I chatted with a Brazilian taxi cab driver.  I toured the dumpster area at the lower level parking area.  They still have the old worn black office swivel chair there.  I noticed the Italian wine bar in the basement of the Banker's Trust Building was closed, and it is usually quite busy.  Just south of there, the Danish store Bang and Olufsen is putting in a new electronics store.  Starbucks was already closed.  I straightened up the three blood drive signs in front of the senior and the arts center.  The blood drive begins today at 8:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. today.   On upper Greenwich Avenue, Hoagland's has a nice Willy Wonka candy factory display, the lights in the right display window are turned off though.  It was not very busy out.  However, at the top of Greenwich Avenue, I saw some activity, and the Barcelona cafe was quite full with a Blue Light disco party.  I walked by, and I checked out the action, but with the darken lights, you could not see what was going on inside.  I toured the Citibank and Kinkos plaza, but Kinkos here is not opened 24 hours anymore.  I cross the street, and I checked out the back side and the front side of the new Chase branch where Harvey electronics used to be.  It seems like it will be quite a large office with a view of the Barcelona cafe.  Years ago, when the Portofino restaurant was where the Barcelona cafe is, and a lot of late night hospital personnel use to go there.  The new Chase Bank appears to be in a building with natural gas heat as opposed to oil heat, so that might be a sign of the times.  I then finished my walked down Greenwich Avenue.  St. Mary's has their nativity setup, but Mary and the Manger are missing.  I then returned home.  I just heard movement in the hallway, which is unusual since both apartments across the way are vacant.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/12/08 Friday 12:25 P.M..  It took a while, but I finally got through to www.whitehouse.gov , and I told them the last I knew about 10 years ago www.gm.com was suppose to have a law firm that represents them in Chicago, Illinois that is suppose to have 6,000 lawyers.  I know www.saab.com makes a very nice police car in South Carolina.  Thus more than likely some of the foreign car companies might make a little bit more money.  However, more than likely the new democrat senate will probably bail out the American automobile companies.  However, in the great depression, the Roosevelt family made a lot of money selling apples out of wheel barrows.  I am a bit tired, so I will go to bed soon.  However, I will first do some bottom fishing.

Also tracking is UPS: Tracking Information on the order for Nokia 2610 (Refurb) - GoPhone® (Pay As You Go) Cell Phone - | Wireless from AT&T, formerly Cingular refurbished for $9.99 and .60 tax with free shipping for $10.59 total.

In my Christmas Card to the Union Church in North Terrytown, New York, I also sent them a $5 check from the www.chase.com bank to keep them in business.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  Maybe www.exxon.com and www.geico.com should buy the automobile companies, and then they could give automobiles away to get people to buy more expensive gasoline and more expensive car insurance, they way Polaroid use to sell cheap cameras to get people to buy expensive film or the way computer printer manufacturers sell cheap printers to get people to buy more expensive ink cartridges and toner cartridges.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/12/08 Friday 8:25 A.M..  I printed out 27 copies of a Christmas letter that I composed with Microsoft Publisher 2007, and I used two pictures in it, and I printed it out in color on the Samsung color laser printer with high grade legal laser paper.  I then printed out 26 envelopes with the Epson Stylus Color 880 printer.  I used Microsoft Word 2007 to do that.  I used two different varieties of Hallmark cards this year that I purchased on sale after Christmas a year or two years ago.  I signed each letter and card, and I put them in the envelopes.  I used twenty three $.42 stamps on most of them, and the three international Christmas cards, I used three $.42 stamps on each, since they cost $1.14 each for an ounce to Denmark, Holland, and England.  Thus I used thirty two $.42 mostly Christmas stamps of Modonna and Child and the Nutcrackers.  I sorted them into local, out of town, and international, and I put a rubber band around each bunch.  I then went downtown, and I mailed them at the central Greenwich Post Office inside mail drop.  I then walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I sat out at various locations.  After my walk, I used the bathroom at Starbucks.  I then returned home.  I said good morning to some neighbors.

I have posted my short Christmas letter at:

Note: <888> 12/12/08 Friday 1:05 A.M..  I woke up at 11 P.M., when the NOAA weather radio went off about storm activity in this area.  I made and ate a three egg omelet with processed cheese and grated parmesan and Romano cheese along with four strips of fried maple bacon and a toasted bagel with margarine and a glass of watered down passion punch.  I will now do my Christmas letter and Christmas cards.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/11/08 Thursday 6:40 P.M..  I picked up the mail downstairs in the mail room.  I think I will go to bed or rest for a while now. Stay warm and comfortable.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/11/08 Thursday 6:20 P.M..  I sautéed one of the steaks the way that I do it, and I ate it with my usual vegetable mixture and watered down passion punch.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/11/08 Thursday 4:55 P.M..  I moved the new needlepoint pillow to the center of the Scott family sofa in the living room in between the other pillows, and I moved the smaller needle point pillow from the bed to the sitting chair underneath the stereo system in the living room.  Now that the computers seem to be running better, I probably have some other tweaking to do around the apartment.  I still have to do my Christmas cards and letter, and I probably should clean the apartment, the Friday before Christmas, so there is always something to do, if one does not sit around and watch too much television.  Also the televisions do use more electricity than the computers, but I pay $80 a month for high definition television, so I should watch it a bit.  However, once there is a democrat in the white house, there is no point watching politics on television, so I could possibly save money by not paying for high definition television with democrats on television.  Possibly I could spend the same money on more conservative activities like republicans are known for spending money on.  However, for $2.65 a day, I can not drive downtown much cheaper, and a cup of coffee at Starbucks costs the same, so I guess I will keep the liberal television broadcasts going.  I can always watch older more conservative movies on the Turner movie channel.  Occasionally in the 700 numbers, the high definition television has some interesting movies too.  Alas, I can not afford to pay for the premium movie channels, and I do not have the time to watch the cheaper Netflix DVDs all off the time.  I do enjoy quality movies, but it takes away from the time I use on computers and maintaining my apartment "Pied A Terre" here in America.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/11/08 Thursday 4:25 P.M..  I went out after the last note.  I went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop.  I bought a two foot by two foot by 10 inches deep white with rose pattern needle point pillow for $15.  I then went to my usual 3 P.M. appointment, and then I returned home.  The mail has not arrived yet.  I put the new white rose pattern needlepoint pillow on my bed.  It will look better in the warmer months, when I used the pink and green quilt and opposed to the darker comforter in the colder months.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/11/08 Thursday 12:55 P.M..  I woke up at 10:30 A.M., when I had a computer magazine telephone call. I chatted with www.whitehouse.gov about the price of tea in China.  It is my personal viewpoint that a lot of phenomena in the Old Guard associations is base on the fact that in schools and churches in the old days, the participants were seated and organized alphabetically, so like for example with myself, I knew a lot of other people whose last names began with "S".  For example at the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut in the auditorium I sat next to Gordon Scott in the auditorium assembly before he was kicked out for listening to a radio.  However, Gordon Scott looked a bit like Gordon Getty, so maybe he was there under an assumed name.  My relative was commenting on this camera PowerShot SD800 IS Digital Camera , but for a $250 to $300 camera, it is only 7.1 mega pixels.  I backed up the primary Vista computer early this morning from the first hard drive to the second hard drive, and just now I backed it up the Maxtor external hard drive to save any additional changes in the last couple of days.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will shower and clean up.  I have a 3 P.M. appointment.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/11/08 Thursday 1:00 A.M..  I woke up at 4 A.M. today, when www.ups.com delivered Tracking is UPS: Tracking Information on the order for Nokia 2610 (Refurb) - GoPhone® (Pay As You Go) Cell Phone - | Wireless from AT&T, formerly Cingular refurbished for $9.99 and .60 tax with free shipping for $10.59 total.  I put my old sim card in the Nokia from my Motorola AT&T go phone, and the new wireless phone works just fine with my old sim card, although it is a slightly different sim card than the new one that came with it.  I put the box that it came with behind the bedroom file cabinet with the Microsoft keyboard boxes.  I had to call up the AT&T wireless go phone to reset the PUK number, since my old pin number did not work in the new phone, but after getting the PUK number and resetting the PIN number it works.  I chatted with a relative to test it.  I chatted with the relative some more later.  The phone was pretty much charged up, when it was delivered.  It came with a charger that is different than the old Motorola chargers that I have.  I have about $42 left on my wireless account at 25 cents a minutes, and I will renew it on December 24, 2008 with another $25 for $26.50 after tax.  The new Nokia wireless phone works just fine, and all my telephone numbers from the sim card show up.  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with margarine, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.  I chatted with a friend twice. I called up www.cl-p.com , and I looked at their rate structure online, and I changed my electricity rate plan the second time I called to the variable night time rate which is lower from 8 P.M. to noon the next day at about $.08 a KWH compared to the regular daytime rate that is $.11 a KWH.  However, under the night time plan, the daytime rate is suppose to be a bit higher.  Hopefully, it will save me about $40 a month in electric bills, and I will be able to use a bit of cheaper electric heat during the night period.  To go into effect, they have to install a dual rate electric meter, which they will do in the next month.   I ordered another  UPS: Tracking Information on the order for Nokia 2610 (Refurb) - GoPhone® (Pay As You Go) Cell Phone - | Wireless from AT&T, formerly Cingular refurbished for $9.99 and .60 tax with free shipping for $10.59 total to have a spare one.  I put my new sim card in the old Motorola phone, that is still on its charging adapter by the other oak coffee table phones, but it is not activated but available.  I have the new wireless Nokia phone at the same location on the oak coffee table with the other phones.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I went out, and I went by the Stop and Shop, I bought a six pack of Stop and Shop hot dog rolls for $1.34, a six pack of Stop and Shop plain bagels for $2.50,a pound of Stop and Shop margarine for $1.09, a 13.5 ounce box of reduced fat Cheez-its for $2.50, German Wondabar baloney sliced double thick for $2.99 a pound for $4.65, two buy one get one free of Hormel bacon for $5.29 both, a package of eight Oscar Meyer beef franks for $2.99, three boneless New York strip steaks for $4.99 a pound for $12.33, fresh Chiquita bananas for .64 a pound for $1.57, a bulb of garlic for $2.99 a pound for .48 for $34.74 total.  I then went by the Greenwich Automotive Services Exxon station, and I bought $5 of self service premium for $2.559 a gallon for 1.954 gallons for 21.3 miles driving since last Tuesday at odometer reading of 61974 miles for 10.9 miles per gallon driving in local traffic.  I then walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I noticed MacDuff's has live music tonight.  The new Canadian TD bank TD Banknorth - Online Banking, Home Equity Loans, Investment Planning and Wealth Management at the northeast corner of Greenwich Avenue and Elm street looks like it will be opening soon.  It is suppose to be opened 7 days a week and also opened from 7 A.M. until 8 P.M. on weekdays.  I chatted with a relative while downtown to test out the wireless Nokia phone.   One has to press the unlock and * keys to use it.  I also tested out "911" by the Greenwich Police station, and the Connecticut state police pick it up, but they can transfer it to the local police.  I have the local police number on the phone.  I finished my walked.  I then drove by the dumpster at the train station office park.  They still have an old black office swivel chair there.  I drove down by the waterfront on Steamboat road, and the lights are still on on Long Island.  I then returned home.  I picked up mail, and I told a neighbor about the Nokia phone bargain.  I put away the groceries.  I will now eat a baloney and turkey and cheese sandwich with 1/4th of a 5.5 ounce tube of Pringle sour cream and onion potato chips, and a dill pickle slice, along with watered down passion punch.  I have a 3 P.M. appointment today.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/09/08 Tuesday 10:45 A.M..  I ate a baloney and turkey sandwich with processed cheese on a Kaiser roll with a dill pickle slice and 1/4th of a 5.5 ounce tube of Pringle sour cream and onion potato chips with a glass of watered down passion punch.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will get ready to go out for my 12:45 P.M. dental appointment.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/09/08 Tuesday 9:10 A.M..  I chatted with a friend.  I finished the backups on the Epox computer.  Now with my energy assistance and not using electric heat in the winter, my electric bills now average $90 a month.  I still use the electric air conditioner in the summer though, except for when I am on vacation in Kennebunkport, Maine.

For my electricity at www.cl-p.com ,my actual usage for the month of November 2008 was $168.98, and that is with not using electric heat.  However, I do keep the electric lights with energy saving bulbs going when I am awake, and that produces a bit of heat.

The actual usage for 35 days in the November 2008 usage period was 876 KWH or 25.03 KWH a day with a monthly average temperature of 42.8 degrees Fahrenheit compared to the bill for November 2007 which was $196.84 for 33 days with 1144 KWH or 34.67 KWH a day and a monthly average temperature of 41.1 degrees Fahrenheit.  Thus I have cut my monthly usage by about 30%.  However, the rates went up again this year, so it actually costs me more.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/09/08 Tuesday 8:15 A.M..  I made my bed.  I moved the Volcano CPU coolers from underneath the bed to the lower center hallway bookcase behind the set of rice bowls.  I figure it is better to keep them off the floor.  CIO

I took another piece of the same 3/16th inch thick piece of plywood, and I cut it to fit further back in the Baker chair underside, and I installed it into the support frame groves letting it overlap the length of the other front piece to supply more support, and I used a 1.75 inch screw to support the new piece on either side, and I put another 1.75 inch screw to add more support to the front center of the front piece.  I also used a slightly larger screw than the frame screws to reattached one of the lose frame screws, so now the Baker Furniture chair is a lot more stable.  However, I would not recommend somebody more than about 250 pounds to sit in it.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/06/08 Saturday 11:10 P.M..  The new chair is more like one of those Baker furniture office chairs.  It has collapsed at the front right as one looks at it, probably because somebody had stood on it.  It was probably why they threw it away.  There was some 3/16th inch thick plywood in the stairwell left over from when they fixed the floor in the apartment across the hall.  I got a piece about 24 inches by 8 inches, and I used a pliers to break off on end at an angle, so it would fit in in the underneath front of the new chair in between the cushion and the wooden angle braces.  I then slipped it into position, and I screwed back in the screws to secure the cushion, so now the chair is supported in the front from underneath.  It supports my weight of 215 pounds to sit on, but I don't think it would support that weight if I stood on it.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/06/08 Saturday 10:15 P.M..  I ate two Oscar Meyer beef, chicken, and pork hotdogs on buns with ketchup and Dijon mustard with a glass of watered down passion punch and a 1/5th slice of cherry pie.

Note: <888> 12/06/08 Saturday 9:15 P.M..  I woke up at 2 P.M..  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with margarine, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.  I threw out the garbage.  I chatted with neighbors.  I picked up the mail.  I received my new Connecticut registration for the Audi.  I made three copies of it, and I put then in with the envelope with my automobile information on top of the dictaphone to the left side of the bed in the bedroom.  I put the registration in the Audi glove box in the black vinyl folder with the insurance certificate.  I scraped off the old registration sticker with a Stanley scraper from the driver's side inside windshield, and I put the new yellow one in the window, and it expires January 2011.  I put the old sticker on the new application sticker holder in the glove box.  I did some bottom fishing on the internet.  I moved the Harvard chair around, so it faces the living room mirror, and it is easier to use the telephones on the oak butler's table.  I chatted with two friends and a relative and a out of town security official.  I have a theory that the DuPont family were involved in winning the democratic presidential election, since they might have that type of money.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I went downtown, and I walked lower Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I stopped by the Greenwich Cigar store.  They sell Monte Christo cigars there.  I walked around the train station far side, and I sat out on the patio with all the Italian lights on the trees.  I checked out the lower level dumpster area.  I then walked back up Greenwich Avenue.  I chatted with a couple visiting off the train.  They told me they were from New Orleans, Louisiana.  He looks like he is still eating traditional southern cooking.  I mentioned that I had gone to Lookout Mountain Camp that was owned by the Morrison family from New Orleans, Louisiana.  I chatted with a local sitting outside having a cup of coffee.  I then finished my walk in mid Greenwich Avenue, and I drove down by the train station, and I retrieved a discarded office chair from the dumpster area.  It is sort of a modern Chippendale chair with French brocade fabric.  I then drove down by the waterfront on Steamboat Road.  Some of the houses are still lighted up on the waterfront.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I chatted with two locals.  I bought a dozen extra large eggs for $2.49 that expire January 5, 2009.  I then returned home.  I chatted with a relative.  I moved the small folding chair from the bedroom desk, and I put it away folded up by the television cabinet in the living room.  I moved the bent pine chair from the small computer table, and I put it at the bedroom desk.  I moved the smaller bent pine chair from the oak dining table at the Matsonic computer, and I put it at the small computer desk.   I put the new chair facing the Matsonic computer with space to walk by it along side the small computer desk with the Northgate computer LCD monitor.  One can move it forward carefully to avoid the wires on the floor to use the Matsonic computer.  I moved the Harvard chair perpendicular to it facing the wall mirrors to the left of the left living room closet.  I move the telephones on the oak butler's table, so they can easily be accessed from the Harvard chair.  I moved around some of the other bric-a-brac on the oak butler's table, so it is behind the new chair.  Thus over all it is a more practical setup with the new chair.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/06/08 Saturday 3:30 A.M..  I ate another 1/5th piece of cherry pie.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  Stay warm.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/06/08 Saturday 2:50 A.M..   I received notification from www.cl-p.com that with my electricity subsidies that I have received from the NEON program, they are lowering my monthly average electric bill from $105 to $90.  However, the amount is lower, because also based on my past usage last winter, when I did not use electric heat, it was lower.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/06/08 Saturday 12:15 A.M..  I woke up at 7 P.M..  Yesterday I ate 10 dried apricots, and today I ate 6.  I ate a piece of Cherry pie.  I chatted with a relative.  I went outside, and I checked out the environment.  I said hello to a neighbor.  I picked up my mail.  I read all of the recent computer periodical literature, and I threw it out along with the recent shopping catalogs.  I made and ate three egg omelet with slices of processed cheese and grated parmesan and Romano cheese along with three strips of fried bacon and a toasted bagel with margarine and a glass of watered down passion punch.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/05/08 Friday 2:25 P.M..  Well, nothing going on in America.  I think I will take a nap.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/05/08 Friday 1:15 P.M..  I took  down the big flags off the front of the hallway bookcases, so the hallway looks a little bit more spacious.  I moved the six Norwegian Royalty cups from the lower shelf of the center hallway bookcase to the upper shelf with the little Norwegian flag on the silver flag staff in between them.  Since I live in my apartment all winter without electric heat most of the time, I figure I should have a Norwegian viewpoint.  I will now make and eat the same dinner as two nights ago.  Alas, poached salmon is too expensive to eat in America.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/05/08 Friday 12:10 P.M..  I drained the water out of the drip tray underneath the Pathos plant in the living room windows.  I also drained the water out of the two Chinese rice bowls containing the two miniature palms on the mahogany bureau.  I switched the two miniature palms with the rice bowls, so they have more water to drain.  I rotated the oak butler's table, so it is perpendicular to the brass and glass coffee table, and it is parallel adjacent to the mahogany bureau.  I move the paper shredder into the bedroom to the left of the bedroom desk.  It is connected to a power strip that is turned on.  To use the speakers on the Gigabyte bedroom computer, you now have to turn on the speaker's power control button.  I moved the DeLonghi oil filled radiator that was behind the Harvard chair to the left side the Matosonic computer chair at the oak dining table.  I move the Harvard chair, so its back is to the small computer table holding the Northgate computer LCD monitor.  Thus it all works much better, and there is more room in the walk through area in the living room that leads to the hallway.  I currently have the Scottish Cross of St. Andrew's flag and the British Union Jack flying in front of the bookcases in the hallway.  Although it is nice symbolism, I might take the flags down including the one's underneath them, so one can see the items in the hallway bookcases, and it would make the hallway seem larger.  I will have to think about it.  However, the flags are in keeping with the English Country Style of decorating that I have tried to present in MY apartment.  CIO

According to a couple of friends, there is suppose to be a Supreme Court ruling today as to whether Obama is actually entitled to run for President as a United States citizen.  Supposedly his father has dual citizenship as both a Kenyan citizen and a British citizen, and Obama was supposedly born in Kenya and not Hawaii.  His mother is a U.S. citizen.  I watched a program last night on www.cnn.com about worldwide genocide in the last two decades which was quite depressing.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/04/08 Thursday 8:55 P.M..  The Greenwich Hospital also has a gift shop with a lot of gift items on sale.  I found a Wexford tower fan by the dumpster today that is in very good condition, so I put it in the hallway along side the other tower fan to use during warmer weather.  A little while ago, I threw out the two shipping boxes that I got today.  I brought up another find by the dumpster.  It is a four foot long solid oak oval butler's coffee table about 28 inches in diameter.  It is sort of the American version of a butler's table.  I move the telephone table from in front of the French reproduction table, and I put it in the bathroom with the coral on it along with a red Christmas candle.  I move the HP photo printer off the folding oak table, and I put the folding oak table behind the bedroom door with the other one.  I moved the mahogany tea table that had the telephones on it to the where the HP Photo printer is with the HP Photo Printer on top of it.  I moved the oak butler's table along side the back side of the brass and glass coffee table with the Harvard chair along side of it.  I dusted off the moisture off the oak butler's from the current rain.  I put the five telephones on it.  I also put the Panasonic 14 inch television on it facing the French reproduction chair.  I moved some of the available bric-a-brac on it.  I have the DeLonghi oil filled radiator behind the Harvard chair available for extra heat if it ever gets cold this winter, which it generally does. I dusted off the metal file holder from the left side of the bedroom bed, and I put it on the center of the butler's table with the current paper work that was on top of the HP Photo printer.  I moved the dining chair from the bedroom desk, and I put it at the oak dining table in front of the Matsonic computer.  I moved the folding wicker chair to the bedroom desk.  Overall, I think it is a neater appearance for the apartment.  Before going to bed this morning, I did a Vista complete PC backup from the first hard drive to the second hard drive.  A little while ago, I did one to the Bytecc external hard drive.

On December 2, 2008 there was a volcanic event at MVO Web Site Montserrat.  A lot of reclusive British people use to vacation there, before the original event over a decade ago.  I chatted with a fellow from Mexico City downtown last night whom told me he owns property near one of the volcanoes there, and he plans to start growing olive trees.  CIO

I used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center.  I stopped by CVS, and I read their brochure.  I chatted with a German Shepard walker about German Shepards.  I finished my walk.  I sat out for a while.  I went by the Greenwich Library, and I chatted with staff and regulars about the price of tea in China.  I was told by a relative that one can sail on the Queen Mary II in March 2009 from Dubai to New York for $2,500 or about a $100 a day.  However, it might be cold that time of year crossing the Atlantic Ocean.  I went by the Greenwich Automotive Services Exxon gasoline station, and I bought $6 of self service premium at $2.699 a gallon for 2.223 gallons for 30.6 miles since last Wednesday at odometer reading of 61952 miles at 13.765 miles per gallon.  I cleaned the outside windows, and I checked the tires for 32 PSI.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a yesterday's bakery cherry pie for $3, two six packs of New York Everything bagels for $2.50 each six pack, two pound boxes of Stop and Shop margarine for $1.09 each box, two half gallons of Tropicana Premium orange juice with calcium for $2.50, two 48 ounce containers of Quaker Old Fashioned oats for $4.99 each container, two Angus Cab London broil cuts of meat for $4.29 a pound for $6.15 and $8.30, and fresh Chiquita bananas for .64 a pound for $1.57 for $41.18 total.  I chatted with a local tow truck operator from Lone Star towing.  I then returned home.  I put away the groceries.  For dinner, I ate a half of one of the Angus London broil cuts of meat sautéed in olive oil, margarine, chopped garlic, garlic power, ground black pepper, and Italian seasoning.  I sautéed it in a frying pan over medium high electric burner heat for about six minutes a side turning it every minute.  I ate it with my usual vegetable mixture.  I also put Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce on the meat and A1 Bulls Eye barbeque sauce.  I ate it all with a glass of watered down passion punch.  I made up a fresh batch of passion punch.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/03/08 Wednesday 6:20 A.M..  After the last note, I showered, and I cleaned up.  I picked up the mail.  The order for Newegg.com - PNY OPTIMA 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory  for $42.99 with free shipping arrived.  Also my Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles renewal registration form arrived to renew the Audi registration for the next two years starting January 20, 2009.  I then went by the Chase Bank on Mason Street.  I then went to my 3 P.M. appointment.  I chatted with somebody after my 3 P.M. appointment that told me their fund had not lost much value.  I then returned home.  The Samsung CLP-315 Color Laser Printer at OfficeMax for $99.99 with $6 tax with free shipping for $105.99 total had arrived.  I then restored the October 30, 2008 Vista Complete PC backup.  I chatted for a while with a friend.  While doing the restore, I unpacked the Samsung color laser printer, and I set it up on a wooden cassette box on the oak dining table near the primary Vista computer.  I removed the packing tape, and I put paper in it, and I connected its power cord to the Matsonic power strip near it.  I did a test print out by holding the button for two seconds, and it prints out fine in sharp color.  Once the Vista restore was done, I installed the new memory, so the primary Vista computer has three gigabyte of memory, and the Epox computer has two gigabytes of memory, and the bedroom Gigabyte computer has 1.35 gigabytes of memory.  I then installed the Vista updates on the primary Vista computer, and I restored a few changed files.  I ate a baloney and cheese sandwich with 1/4th of a tube of Pringle sour cream and onion potato chips and a dill pickle slice and a glass of watered down passion punch.  I reinstalled the Microsoft wireless 6000 V2 mouse and keyboard programs.  I set up the printers whose ports had changed.  I chatted with a relative.  I moved the larger chair from the oak dining table to the small computer desk, and I put the smaller chair that matches the other one at the oak dining table.  I set it up, so I now eat opposite the closets.  I then installed the Samsung color laser program, and it all works just fine.  I then did a Vista Complete PC backup from the first hard drive to the second hard drive, and then to the third hard drive, and then to the Bytecc external hard drive.  While doing that I watched television.  I also ate two bowls of reduced fat Cheez-its and 15 dried apricots.  Before doing the backups, I renewed my Connecticut motor vehicles registration for the Audi online for a cost of $85.  I still have to do the backup to the Maxtor external hard drive.  Possibly the computer freezing was caused by the wireless sending unit being too close the speaker phone and the wireless mouse and keyboard, so I moved it a little bit further away.  I will go to bed now, and I will do the Maxtor external hard drive backup, and I will wake up and shut down the computer in a few hours.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/02/08 Tuesday 12:25 P.M..  I went to bed after the last note.  I woke up, and I ate the last two ounces of a box of reduced fat Triscuits.  I finally woke up at 9 A.M. this morning.  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with margarine, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.  I threw out the garbage.  I chatted with neighbors.  I backed up the primary Vista computer to the Maxtor external hard drive.  I chatted with a relative.  I have a 3 P.M. appointment today.  I changed the wall calendars to December 2008.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/01/08 Monday 9:40 P.M..  I chatted with a relative earlier.  I microwaved and ate a Stouffer's 21 ounce frozen meat lasagna which I put some grated parmesan and Romano cheese on.   I ate it with some watered down passion punch.  I backed up the few changes I made on the Vista computer.  Basically there is not much going on around here.  It was a warmer day at the first of the month and the first of the week, so more people were out than usual for this time of year.  CIO

Beside uninstalling Bit Torent and Disabling it the Program add-ons in Internet Explorer, I also in my "my personal folder", "program files" deleted the "DNA" folder.  I also uninstalled it in "Program Files\Bit Torent\", and I also deleted the "Windows\System32\Plugins\DNA" folder.  When I did a search of all files on the C: drive including hidden files, there is no evidence of the "npbtdna.dll" file on the C: drive.  I also disabled it earlier in Internet Explorer.  I still had the computer freezing.  I uninstalled the Adobe 10 Flash Player, and there is an uninstall program for it in the "C:\windows\system32\Marcomed\Flash" folder.  However, there was an earlier version 9 of it in the same folder that I could not delete because of administrative privileges, so I renamed it.  When I restarted the computer, it still froze, so I restored the Vista Complete PC backup from last night that I know works, and I then went through the same procedure above, and restored a few changed files.  Basically it seems like the Adobe Flash Player 10 that particularly works off email newsletters and other web sites is causing my computer to freeze.  It all started on Black Friday, and I did not have any problems with the primary Vista system before that.  There were four Vista updates installed last Tuesday, so maybe Microsoft in promoting Silverlight is causing the Adobe flash player to cause problems.  Thus I will not be installing the Adobe 10 Flash Player when prompted on web sites, and I will not be viewing Adobe content.  I lost today's email in restoring the backup.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/01/08 Monday 3:30 P.M..  I woke up at noon.  I chatted with a relative.  I went out without cleaning up.  I went by the Chase Bank on Mason Street.  I then went by the Wachovia Bank on Benedict Place, and I paid my rent to the Greenwich Housing Authority.  I then mailed the Microsoft Money 2006 November 2008 Income versus spending report to a relative at the United States Post Office mail box in front of Mitchell's department store.  They have a convenient drive up drop off there.  I then returned home.  I chatted with www.tripplite.com USA in Chicago, Illinois at 1-773-869-1233, and they are going to send me another serial cable for the UPS device that I ordered.  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with margarine, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.  Tracking is UPS: Tracking Information  on the order for Newegg.com - LG Black 22X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 16X DVD+R DL 22X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache IDE 22X DVD±R DVD Burner - CD / DVD Burners for $20.99 with free shipping arrived.  I put it to the right of the bedroom Orion television to have available for future use.  I will now shower and clean up.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/01/08 Monday 2:00 A.M..  How did I figure out my computer problems were caused by the malfunctioning Adobe Flash player.  I had email from www.forbes.com that I lost with an advertisement for The Glenlivet that froze my computer when I opened it.  Computer system problems and tweaking could cause one to go back to drinking too.  I will use the computer a bit more for a while before I back it up.  I want to make sure the primary Vista computer no longer freezes.  I had a theory a year ago that the Black Friday computer problems that I was having a year ago were caused by an attempt by a large warehouse sales operator with the second largest computer network in the world trying to mess up people's computers, so they would not be able to buy off the internet, and instead people would go to their stores.  For legal reasons I can not name that large warehouse sales operator, but their name begins with "W".  CIO

I uninstalled the Adobe Flash player, and then I tried to reinstall it, and the primary Vista computer system froze.  I then did a Safe Boot with Networking, and I uninstalled the Adobe Flash Player, and then I reinstalled it.  I then booted into Vista, and I installed the Microsoft Intellimouse and the Intellitype programs and drivers.   The system has not frozen yet.  CIO

Note: <888> 12/01/08 Monday 12:15 A.M..  The primary Vista computer froze again for unknown reasons.  Perhaps the problem is not the Microsoft Intellimouse and Intellitype software.  I ran a McAfee quick virus scan, and it showed no problems.  I disconnected the 7 port USB 2.0 device that has the Plantronics headset and the printers plugged into it to see if that might be causing a problem.  Both the Plantronics DSP 500 headset and the Microsoft Wireless 6000 V2 devices use the Human Interface Device drivers, so maybe they are conflicting.  CIO
