As a matter of polite dispute with some local first generation immigrants and visitors, the www.fbi.gov tends to have very good communications and data bases shared with such groups as INTERPOL , Royal Canadian Mounted Police - Gendarmerie royale du Canada , Metropolitan Police Service New Scotland Yard , and a few other agencies locals have probably never heard of.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/30/08 Tuesday 1:50 A.M..  Apparently the Greenwich Time www.greenwichtime.com mentioned that we are under Marshal Law.  Bill Clark's blog Greenwich Gossip on September 3, 2008 indicates it.  However, I know Bill is smart, but I think besides Congress a local state's governor can declare Marshal Law.  Of course, if a foreign country were able to invade us without any resistance, they probably could do pretty much what they want.  Maybe the Governor just has control over the State Police.  Posse Comitatus Act - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia .  However, from what I could tell, it was just another normal slow day in downtown Greenwich, Connecticut without much going on to speak of.  With the higher prices of fuel, I guess more people are staying at home.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/30/08 Tuesday 12:55 A.M..  I can not backup Ubuntu on the Northgate Syntax computer with Vista Server 2008 Complete PC Backup program, since its partition is invisible to Vista.  The new Crucial Gismo 2 GB USB pen drive does not work with the USB 2.0 port in Ready Boost mode on the FIC server, so it is not Ready Boost capable.

The $15.14 charge on my Visa debit card was from VoiPax .  I will now install their program on my computers, since they have free calling from the United States of America to Jolly Old England.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/29/08 Monday 11:45 P.M..  I went out, and I threw out some garbage.  The front door was broken earlier when I came in, but a Greenwich Housing Authority official was here at the time, so it is now fixed.  I tried the Crucial Gismo 2 GB USB pen drive for Ready Boost on the Northgate Syntax computer Vista Home Edition partition, but it would not work for Ready Boost.  Possibly the rear USB ports are USB 1.0, and it needs USB 2.0.  The front USB 2.0 ports do not work with it either.  One of the two front USB 2.0 ports are broken anyway.  I put the pen drive on the stand of the left lower LCD monitor on the primary Vista computer.  I removed the expired beta Vista Server 2008 from the second hard drive on the Northgate Syntax computer, and I installed www.ubuntu.com on the second hard drive.  There is not a Linux driver for the Netgear FR114P print server, so it will not have network printer capabilities with Ubuntu.  I might shrink the primary Vista partition and put the Vista Server 2008 beta back on it, so I can use its Vista Complete Backup feature, which the Vista Home Edition on it does not have, so I can backup the entire system to the Bytecc external hard drive.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/29/08 Monday 9:25 P.M..  I chatted with a relative at 10 A.M. this morning.  I went back to bed until 1 P.M..  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes.  I chatted with a relative.  I watched the www.house.gov vote down the Economic Stimulus package.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I threw out some garbage.  I went out, and I went by the George Weston Bakeries Arnold Bread Outlet, and it is still boarded up from when it burned down a few months ago.  I then went by the Greenwich Library, and I chatted with a local and a computer engineer from the Bronx.  I read P.C. magazine.  I then went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue.  I chatted with a local.  I stopped by the Greenwich Hardware store, and I bought a 2.5 inch adjustable C Clamp for $6.49 and .35 tax less a discount of .65 for $6.19 total.  I then went by CVS, and I bought a .75 ounce of Auro Ear Drops earwax removal aid for $4.99.  I finished my walk, and I used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center.  I then went by the ATM machine at the Chase Bank at the Stop and Shop plaza.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a loaf of whole wheat stone ground Frerhoffer bread for $2.50, a six pack of New York Everything bagels for $2.50, a half gallon of Tropicana Premium with calcium for $3, a dozen extra eggs that expire November 1, 2008 for $2.39, four 21 ounce Stouffer's frozen lasagnas with meat sauce for $2.50 each, a 13.5 ounce box of low fat Cheez-its for $3, a 64 ounce container of Stop and Shop grape juice for $2.50, a 64 ounce container of Stop and Shop lite cranberry juice for $2, a 8 ounce container of Stop and Shop parmesan and Romano cheese for $2.50, and a 7 ounce Jones' boneless ham for $3.19, and fresh Chiquita bananas for .64 a pound for $1.72 for $35.30 total.  I then returned home.  I put the C clamp with two coasters on either side of the small computer table end of the shelf that supports my lower left LCD monitor on the primary Vista computer setup to make it more secure.  I checked my Chase Account, and it appeared my Visa Debit Card had been hacked.  I had a $25 charge pending from Yahoo Voice, and a $15.14 charge from VOIPAX GMBH GLOBALCOLLEC.  I called up Chase at 1-800-935-9935.  I cancelled my Visa Debit card.  They told me I would have to call them back at 1-866-564-2262 once the pending fraudulent charges go through on my account to have them refunded.  I tried calling Yahoo at 1-866-562-7228, but after a half hour wait, they kept running me around in circles back to the same half hour wait. I chatted with two relative.  I picked up my mail on the way in.  The order for Newegg.com - Crucial Gizmo! 2GB Flash Drive (USB2.0 Portable) Model JDOD2GB-730 - USB Flash Drives for $6.49 with free shipping arrived.  I will now reheat and eat the same linguine and tomato meat sauce dinner with grated parmesan and Romano cheese with watered down passion punch.  CIO

I have the Epox backup computer setup with the Vista Ultimate Media Center connected up to my 27 inch Sony CRT High Definition television in the living room.  By disabling the second monitor in Vista, and using the ATI Catalyst Control Center, I am able to put the first monitor and the Sony television in Clone Mode.  I was then able to log on to www.mit.edu to Free Online Course Materials | MIT OpenCourseWare , and I watched the first lecture in this course series MIT OpenCourseWare | Electrical Engineering and Computer Science | 6.033 Computer System Engineering (SMA 5501), Spring 2005 | Home .  The lecture are played with the Real Player, and for some reason the Real Player now works on the Sony Television in Clone Mode.  However, it only works when one first opens it in standard large view, and if one attempts to changes its size, it does not work on the Sony television, and one has to restart the Real player.  Thus I was able to watch and listen to the hour plus lecture on the large screen Sony televisioin.  I played the sound off the computer speakers.  I ate 10 dried apricots.  CIO

I filled a five quart pot with three quarts of water and a dash of sea salt and a teaspoon of olive oil, and I put it on the large electric burner on high to boil.  While doing that, I put a couple of tablespoons of olive oil in a 10 inch stick proof frying pan and a few pads of butter, and then I peeled and diced three cloves of garlic and one medium large onion, and I added them to the frying pan, and I turned it on medium high electric burner heat on the smaller front burner, and once they began to sizzle, I added one eight ounce top round London broil burger cut into half inch chunks, and I seasoned it all with Old Bay Seasoning, garlic powder, ground black pepper, cayenne pepper, paprika, Italian seasoning, and I mixed it all together stirring it until the beef was browned and the onions were blanched.  I then added a 26 ounce jar of Ragu tomato sauce, and I mixed it all together, and I covered it.  I added and stirred in a few dashes of maggi seasoning, Frank's hot sauce, and soy sauce.  Once the water in the pot was boiling, I added a 16 ounce package of Barilla linguine, and I boiled it for 10 minutes on high electric burner heat, and once it was done, I put a colander in another large pot, and I drained the hot water into the pot, and I set the colander of linguine on the side.  I dumped the pot of hot water down the bathroom sink to clean out the shaving gel scum.  While doing that I stirred the tomato sauce mixture frequently, and I then put half the linguine in a flat Rubbermaid container, and I put the other half on a large dinner plate with half of the tomato and beef mixture, and I put the other half of the tomato and beef mixture in a Rubbermaid container in the refrigerator, and I added some grated parmesan and Romano cheese mixture on top of the linguine and tomato and beef dinner, and I ate it all with a glass of watered down passion punch.  As usual after a meal, I cleaned up the kitchen.  CIO

Shopper and Maximum P.C. back issues.  I threw out the old computer magazines that I had read.  I put my old software boxes and spare hard drives on the two upper shelves behind the Sony television in the living room.  I put some of my other spare computer parts on the two shelves on the bookcase on top of the mahogany bureau in the bedroom, so they are easier to get at.  Thus the spare parts area to the right of the Orion television in the bedroom is neater.   I cancelled my reservation for the TS2 Event: Increase your customer offerings and drive your business! I have been snacking on dried apricots recently.  I woke up at 10 A.M. this morning.  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes.  I chatted with an associate.  I threw out the garbage, and I chatted with neighbors.  I used the keyboard shelf from the Chinese computer desk to prop up my left lower LCD monitor, so it is more stable, and it looks better.  I could get a C clamp to secure it to the desk, but for now, it is propped up by the IBM box.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/23/08 Tuesday 11:05 P.M..  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/23/08 Tuesday 10:20 P.M..  I went out after the last note.  I went by the Chase Bank on Mason Street.  I chatted with a fellow resident from the Midwest.  I guess the reason nobody is interested in European Royalty anymore is that once they found out the United States of America resident the King of Thailand was worth $36 billion, they all started heading towards Asia.  I next drove over to the center of town, but nothing much was happening.  I then went by the Greenwich Library, and I checked out "Volcano, A Visual Guide" by Donna O'Meara.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a top round London Broil for $2.99 a pound for $7.42, a six pack of light multigrain English muffins for $2.50, a 59 ounce container of Simply Orange orange juice for $3, a 13.5 ounce box of reduced fat Cheez-its for $3, a 2 pound bag of baby carrots for $2.99, a 3 pound bag of small red potatoes for $2.99, fresh bananas for .64 a pound for $1.71, broccoli crowns for $1.99 a pound for $2.69, a head of Foxy iceberg lettuce for $1.79 for $28.09 total.  I then returned home, and I chatted with a neighbor.  I brought up my groceries and the mail.  I chatted with a relative.  I got another telephone call from somebody looking for a Michael Scott in Toronto, Canada.  I made five 8 ounce hamburgers out of the London Broil.  I froze four of them.  I sautéed one of them, and I put two slices of processed cheese on it and place it on a bagel with A1 Bulls Eye barbeque sauce on it.  I ate it with steamed red potato chunks, baby carrots, and broccoli crowns with grated parmesan cheese and olive oil and margarine and Italian spices.  I drank a glass of watered down passion punch. I chatted with a relative.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/23/08 Tuesday 3:45 P.M..  I have some errands to do.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will shower and clean up, and I will go out.  It seems to be that with the www.un.org in full session with other Welcome to the White House other visitors, that we are trying to be hospitable based on our budgets, not on the budgets of mailto:bill@windows.com .  From what I know, my primary directive from the chief British agent in this area, David Heron is to, "Keep Doing What I Do. I am not suppose to know what goes on.  Get a Hair Cut.  Stay Focused."  Thus I have followed the instructions based on the English Speaking language in Greenwich, Connecticut.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/23/08 Tuesday 3:25 P.M..  I woke up at noon.  For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  Before going to bed, I did a Vista Complete PC backup from the first hard drive to the second hard drive.  I just finished a Vista Complete PC backup from the first hard drive to the Bytecc external hard drive.  I threw out some garbage.  I chatted with a neighbor.  I just had a spot inspection from two Greenwich Housing Authority officials.  I explained the reason for my apartment setup.  I explained some of the more intricate details.  They still think the apartment setup is too crowded, but I do not plan to change anything for now after working more on improving it for the last three months.  I have lived here for 20 years, and I do not plan to set it up for a cocktail party.  I am in good health, so I do not need to set it up for the EMT technicians to take me out in an emergency.  I do not intend to set it up like a hospital room either.  Having maintained an apartment in Manhattan that was 350 square feet when http://mikelouisscott.com/fred.htm took over Bill Baldwin's business and was in partnership with Taylor Sterling from here in Greenwich, I know how Fred's apartment which although small near the United Nations was run like a Carlyle Hotel suite.  Fred's clients included Mrs. Warburg Selicman, Mrs. Avery Fisher, Helen Kress Williams, Nelson Rockefeller, Barbara Rockefeller, Bunny Melon, Paul Melon's daughter, Kip Forbes, and Mrs. Vanderbilt in Newport, Rhode Island  Thus this apartment I live in is based on my experience and budget, and not the wide open spaces concept of decorating.  It is a small enough apartment that it can be warm enough in the winter.  Also once the cold weather sets in, more than likely any "Pied A Terre" will be appreciated.  Since most of the Movers and Shakers spend a great deal of time on jets and airplanes, I feel my apartment is more comfortable and work friendly than a jet of air plane cabin.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/23/08 Tuesday 5:10 A.M..  I did not go to bed after the last note.  I watched a two hour special on channel 13 PBS high definition on Albert Einstein and E=MC (squared).  I was told by a relative that one can take the bus from Boston to New York non stop for a 4.5 hour trip each way for $40 round trip.  I uninstalled Norton Internet Security 2008 on the primary Vista computer, and then I ran the Norton removal utility to remove any other remaining features in the system.  I then made a copy of the McAfee Internet Security suite CD.  I then installed it on the primary Vista computer, and ran its updates.  I then did a quick antivirus scan.  The McAfee Internet Security Suite runs just fine, and the Vista system runs a bit faster with it.  It came with a $30 upgrader rebate, so I filled out the information, and I sent in the front page of my Norton Internet Security 2008 manual, so hopefully in two months, I will have the $30 rebate, so I will be paid $17 for buying it.  I mailed the rebate information downstairs.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  CIO

Remember, if you need to write Bill Gates, he is now publishing an email address at mailto:bill@windows.com .  About 16 years ago, he responded to two of my emails, and the second message was in PGP encryption, so I could not figure it out what it was all about.  I was later warned by a Microsoft Security official Carl Mountain not to email him anymore, so I will not attempt to email him.  However, they keep inviting me to their conferences, so I must be on half way decent terms with them.  However, the upcoming Thursday October 2, 2008 conference for the Microsoft TS2 event that I have accepted the invitation for, I might have to cancel, since I have a previous more important appointment.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed shortly.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/22/08 Monday 9:00 P.M..  I woke up during the night, and I ate a bowl of Cheez-its Party Mix.  I finally woke up at 7 A.M. this morning.  I ate my usual Kennebunkport, Maine breakfast.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I used my cart from the rear of the Audi to bring up my duffle bag which was heavy from the basement to the Audi.  I stripped my bed, and I put the linens in the washer machine.  I finished loading the car.  I made a turkey, cheese, and ham sandwich to take with me.  My relative also gave me the last piece of blue berry pie, and some onions and red potatoes.  I put some more garbage out by the street.  Yesterday, I watered the new grass seed on the brown patches on the front lawn.  My relative also gave me a 10 pack of pairs of white tube socks.  I said good bye to my relative, and I left at 9 A.M..  I stopped by the Wells, Maine Amtrak train station for a pit stop.  I paid a $1.75 toll on the Maine turnpike.  I paid a $1.50 toll on the New Hampshire turnpike.  I stopped at the I-95 south Massachussetts welcome center.  One I-495 West, I stopped at the Lowell rest area.  One I-290 West in Worcester, Mass., there is a new exit for the Mass. turnpike, but I got off at the old exit a few exits later in Webster, Mass.  I stopped at the Charlton West rest area on the Mass. pike.  I ate half of the sandwich.  I put $19 of self service premium at the Gulf station at $3.879 a gallon for 4.897 gallons for 130.2 miles driving from Kennebunkport, Maine at odometer reading of 61521 miles for 26.5877 miles per gallon driving the regular highway speed.  On the television on the gas pumps, there was a news story about Gordon Brown.  I paid a 50 cent tolls to exit the Mass. turnpike for I-84 West.  I stopped at the Connecticut welcome center, and I ate the other half of the sandwich.  I took I-91 South to I-15 West for the Wilbur Cross Parkway.  I stopped at the North Haven rest area.  Then on the Merritt Parkway, I stopped the New Canaan, Connecticut rest area.  In the parking area west bound at the rest area, there is a free tire air pressure system.  I got off the Merritt Parkway at North street in Greenwich, Connecticut, and I drove to downtown Greenwich, and I arrived at the Chase Bank on Mason Street at 3 P.M..  I then stopped by the Greenwich Automotive Services Exxon gasoline station, and I bought $19 of self service premium at $4.319 a gallon for 4.4 gallons at 130.1 miles driving from the Mass. turnpike rest area and 260.3 miles from Kennebunkport, Maine at odometer reading of 61651 miles for 29.568 miles per gallon driving at the speed limit.  I then stopped by the Valley Road Post Office, and I picked up my mail for the last two weeks.  I then returned home, and I unloaded the Audi.  I chatted with one of my Maine relatives to let them know that I had arrived safely.  It was 20 degrees Fahrenheit colder in Maine and Massachussetts than in Connecticut on the way down.  I turned on the toilet, and the air conditioner.  I watered the plants. I unpacked.  I received the new sheets, and I left them on the bedroom hamper.  I put the new case fans on the pile of computer parts to the right side of the bedroom television.  I went outside, and I moved the car to one of its usual places.  I put the small cart back in the trunk of the Audi.  I made up a batch of passion punch.  The McAfee Internet Security Suite 2008 3 license copy was in the mail, but I will not install it until Norton Internet Security 2008 expires in 12 days. I sorted through the mail.  I received two $10 survey checks and a $16 memory rebate check.  I received notification that my food stamps have been raised starting October 2008 from $118 a month to $176 a month which is good news. I started up the primary Vista computer and the FIC server, and I installed the Norton Internet Security 2008 updates, and the Vista updates on the FIC server.  The primary Vista computer shows no new Windows updates.  I will now microwave and eat a Maria Callendar 21 ounce frozen beef lasagna with grated parmesan and Romano cheese on it, and I will eat it with some watered down passion punch.  CIO

We then went by Lowes, and my relative bought two 30 pound bags of Lawn Lyme, and a five pound bags of Scotts' Blue Grass Seed, and two perenial plants that were clearence items. We then went by Walmart. My relative bought me a Debrox ear cleaning kit with the solution and the green ear cleaning squeeze bulb. My relative also bought a Uniden 2.4 Gigahertz ESP 4540 cordless telephone for $9.49 plus tax. We then retured by the back road from Walmart to Biddeford, and we stopped by a farm, and we bought six ears of white corn for $1.50. We then returned back to my relative's house. I planted the two perrenial plants in the rear flower garden box, and I fertilized them with Miracle Gro fertilizer, and then I watered all the plants in the rear flower garden box. I then watered all of the plants in the front of the house. I then put some more Debrox in my right ear, and I hung my head sideways for another ten minutes, and then I used the green bulb water squeezer with hot water to clean out my right ear. No more additional wax seemed to come out, but the right ear canal seems to be clearer and less bothersome. I ate 10 dried apricots. I am charging up the Uniden cordless phone, before I connect it in the Master Bedroom. CIO

I looked at the 1929 and 1941 members book for the Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club - index.htm in Oyster Bay, Long Island. They use to race out to Captain's Island in Greenwich, Connecticut and over to Stamford and back. A relative was a life time member, but the relative is no longer able to enjoy it. I watched part of a New Hampshire Public television concert from Vienna, Austria. I took out the air conditioner from the library, and I left it on the "Wipe Your Paws" door mat beneath the window, with two screws in the small ceramic tray on the table by it, and the window stopper still installed in the upper window. I said good night to my relative. While I was sitting outside having my end of the evening cigarette looking at the full moon above the U.S.A. flag on the flag pole, I could see a jet fly by high up in the sky in front of the full moon. What was strange at 10:07 P.M. EDT flying towards the east to northeast in front of the jet or above it was an object with blinking lights going about three times faster than the jet. Perhaps it was some sort of satellite or U.F.O.. I will now shut down the primary IBM Netvista computer, and I will go to bed soon. Have a good night. I barbequed the sirloin steak for dinner with the marinade and Montreal Steak Seasoning. We ate it with steamed baby carrots, cauliflower, cheery tomatoes, and quartered small baby red potatoes with grated cheese, and I had a glass of watered down orange juice. I cleaned up the kitchen. I put the last of the garbage out by the street. I will now read or watch television with my relative. My relative is using an ice pack on here right ankle which is swollen from physical therapy. Note: <888> 09/12/08 Friday 5:55 P.M.. The carpenters have left. They helped move the heavy furniture back into place. After they left, I vacuumed the entire library and the book shelves. I then put back all of the smaller furniture and decorative objects and hooked up the television to the cable system, thus the library is back to normal and looks quite great. The carpenters have to cut .75 inch off the radiator end covers on the bottom, and they will come back on Monday to install them and pick up their tools. They did a good job of cleaning up everything. I have to get a 50 foot long telephone extension cord to hook up the Samsung all purpose printer and fax machine at its new location to the right of the desk to the right of the sliding door against the outside wall. The small round table and two chairs are now on the left side interior wall. We use to have a spare 50 foot telephone extension cable in the desk with the IBM Netvista, but I can not find it now. It might be in the tool cabinet upstairs in the hallway. The 12 foot by 13 foot piece of the carpet that they cut out is going to be picked up this Tuesday to be bound, and it will then be put in the middle of the library in the sitting area. CIO

I showered, and I cleaned up. I watched the Weather Channel about Hurricane Ike. They said a lot of people are not evacuating which is foolish. When I was at Greenwich Country Day from 1962 to 1965, I read a short story about the hurricane in Galveston in 1900, and there were over 5,000 people killed. Ocean water when driven by a hurricane is denser than cement, so even the most permanent structures tend to not to withstand the hurricane surge. I recall in the last hurricane in that area about six years ago, there was mention the Department of Defense had a biological warfare laboratory on the beach in Galveston also. I have never been on the south east coast of Texas, so I do not have first hand experience. The carpenters working on the floor in the library said they would be done about 2 P.M.. I will help them move a half dozen pieces of heavy furniture back into the library, after they are done. Then I will vacuum after they have left, and I will move the smaller items back into the library. My relative has a 1 P.M. appointment, so I will stay here to help out. We then stopped by the raw furniture shop, and we got so felt pads for a new kitchen stool that my relative had forgotten. We then went by TJ Maxx's and my relative retrieved a walking cane that had been forgotten. My relative bought some items, and also purchased a white rubber bath mat for the downstairs bunk room bathroom shower bath tub, so one does not slip for $6.99. My relative bought me a size 5XX large red and blue Polo rugby shirt for $2 that I will wear as a night shirt, since it is quite large. We then returned to Biddeford, Maine, and we went by Walmart and we got some items including two small 14 pound bags of Scott's fall weed and feed fetilizer for some patch work around the lawn. We then returned to my relative's house. The carpenter floor men have done all of the floor preparation and most of the detail work, and they have installed about 40% of the library floor. I helped clean up the kitchen. I used the leaf blower to clear off the driveway. I cut off the dead daisy flowers heads in the rear yard flower box. I showered, and I cleaned up. We drove along the waterfront to Sanbornes, where my relative got some picked lobster for a guest for lunch and haddock for dinner. Coming and going we saw former President Bush filming an interview in front of Walker's Point. It is suppose to rain this afternoon. CIO

Note: <888> 09/08/08 Monday 10:20 P.M.. I am a bit tired. I said good night to my relative. I will now shut down the IBM Netvista computer, and I will go to bed soon. It is suppose to rain tomorrow afternoon and evening here in Kennebunkport, Maine. CIO

Note: <888> 09/08/08 Monday 9:45 P.M.. I woke up hourly through the night until 4 A.M., when I finally fell asleep until 9:15 A.M.. I finished eating the can of dried apricots. For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with honey and sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a glass of passion punch with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda. I watered the plants. I made a baloney and cheese sandwich to take with me. I turned off the air conditioner and tower fans. I showered, and I cleaned up. I emptied the garbage. I turned off the toilet. I loaded the car. I chatted with a relative to let the relative know I was leaving at 11:30 A.M.. I said good bye to the building custodian and some neighbors. I drove up North Street to the Merritt Parkway, and I took a break at the Bridgeport rest area and the North Haven rest area and the rest area on I-91. On I-84 East just before the Vernon rest area, I almost hit a truck tire in the center lane that had come off from a retread tire on a truck. I steered to the right hand lane to avoid, it but I almost did not see it, because the two hour rest alarm went off a minute before the tire showed up, and it had not reset itself with the shorter breaks, so I looked at the dash board just before the truck tire showed up. I took a break at the Vernon rest area. I then took a break at the Charlton rest area on the Mass. Pike. I ate the baloney and cheese sandwich. I put $15.02 of self service premium at the Gulf station in the car at $3.899 a gallon for 3.853 gallons at 129.6 miles since the previous fill up yesterday at odometer reading of 61201 for 33.636 miles per gallon driving the speed limit on the highway. I paid at 50 cent toll at the I-290 north exit, and I took a break on I-495 east at the Lowell rest area. I ran into a lot of traffic at Lawrence where I was going about 20 miles per hour for 45 minutes. I took a break on the I-95 North New Hampshire rest area. I paid the $1.50 New Hampshire toll. I got off at exit 6 at the northern I-95 New Hampshire Liquor store at the Portsmouth Circle. I chatted with a relative on the wireless phone. I used the bathroom. I bought a .75 liter bottle of Mouton Cadet White Bordeaux by the Rothchild vineyards for $7.99 for a present for my relative. I paid a $1.75 Maine turnpike toll. I got off at the Wells Saco exit, and I took a break at the Wells Amtrak train station. I then drove into Kennebunkport, Maine to my relative's house. The lumber has arrived for a new floor to be put in the library. I gave my relative the wine, the CuisineArt DLC8 with attachments, the red and white Igloo cooler and one large and one regular folding chair from the rear of my Audi for my relatives to keep in the rear of their car. I used the cart from the rear of my car to haul the duffle bag from my car to the downstair's door. I also brought up three 16 ounce cans of Sunsweet dried apricots. We watched the evening news, and ate cheese and crackers and dip with watered down orange juice. I chatted briefly with a relative. For dinner, I barbequed marrinated strip steaks, and we ate them with steamed flavored rice and steamed brocolli and fresh tomato slices and watered down orange juice. I helped clean up the kitchen. I unpacked. To get the IBM Netvista to go online, one has to use the Wireless Lan Utility and not the Windows Wireless Utility. CIO

Note: <888> 09/07/08 Sunday 9:00 P.M.  I chatted with a relative.  I watched some television.  I will now shut down the computers, and until return from Kennebunkport, Maine around September 22, 2008.  I will go to bed shortly.  I will leave after I have breakfast in the morning.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/07/08 Sunday 6:55 P.M.  I ate the same meal as the last couple of nights, but instead of using a hamburger bun with the 8 ounce hamburger, I used a bagel, and instead of ketchup, I put A1 Bull's-eye barbeque sauce on the cheese burger.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/07/08 Sunday 5:30 P.M.  I threw out some garbage.  I walked around the building.  I chatted with neighbors.  I noticed the Greenwich Ice Skating rink is now opened for the season, although it is currently a bit warm out at 81 degrees Fahrenheit Greenwich, Connecticut (06830) Conditions & Forecast : Weather Underground .  CIO

Note: <888> 09/07/08 Sunday 4:45 P.M.  I woke up at 9 A.M. this morning.  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and milk and sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, and a glass of 50% passion punch and 50% cold filtered water, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I went back to bed until 1 P.M..  I made my bed.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I threw out the garbage.  I checked the oil on the Audi.  I went downtown, and I sat out briefly.  I went by the Greenwich Automotive Services Exxon gasoline station, and I bought $15 of self service premium at $4.319 a gallon for 3.474 gallons for 43.4 miles driving since August 29, 2008 at odometer reading of 61072 miles for 12.4928 miles per gallon in local driving at under 30 miles per hour with the air conditioner going.  I checked the tires for 32 PSI.  I returned home.  I chatted with a neighbor.  I packed up the items that I am taking to Kennebunkport, Maine.  I chatted with a relative.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/07/08 Sunday 12:35 A.M.  I chatted with the The Delamar on Greenwich Harbor , and they made it through the storm here with out any problems.  In Hurricane Hugo around 1988, they were flooded.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  I have to be on a daytime schedule to drive up to Kennebunkport, Maine http://www.geocities.com/mikelscott/137.htm on this Monday morning.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/07/08 Sunday 12:15 A.M.  I chatted with the security at the Key West Hotel Resorts & Florida Keys Beach Accommodations - Casa Marina Resort Key West , and the hotel is closed.  I suggested they ride out the hurricane at Key West hotels, Key West Place To Stay, Key West hotel Resort & Luxury accommodations on Duval Street - Key West, Florida which is a six story building in case there is flooding.  Even thought the Casa Marina in the old part of the hotel has two foot thick cement walls, water when driven is denser than cement.  In the hurricane in the 1930s in the Florida Keys, the hurricane took out railroad bridges that were 50 foot thick.  The security guard at the Casa Marina is from Albania, so I am not sure how much local experience he has.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/06/08 Saturday 11:55 P.M.  It is my viewpoint that even if Hurricane Ike tracks over Cuba, the high winds are on the north side of it, and they would be over the waters of the Florida straits, so more than likely the waters in the Florida straits will be churned up quite a bit, and more than likely there will be flooding in Key West and the other Florida Keys whether or not the hurricane moves over them or not.  I ate 5 dried apricots.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/06/08 Saturday 11:40 P.M.  If you look at this NRL Monterey Satellite Photos, Hurricane Ike is quite a large hurricane at category 4, but it is suppose to lose strength over Cuba, and regain strength over the Gulf of Mexico.  Thus I would say it is safe to say that Key West, Florida is in harms way.  If I were down there, I would leave and go north to some place like Orlando, Florida or Atlanta, Georgia.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/05/08 Friday 4:20 P.M.  I went to bed about 2 A.M. after the last note.  I had a telephone call from traveling relatives about 9 A.M., and I met them outside about 15 minutes later.  They looked at the Berber carpet in the Audi, and they said they did not need it for the house in Maine.  They gave me a New York Times, four brown and white giraffe pillows about 18 inches by 18 inches and 5 olive strips pillow covers the same size, and a sweater to take to my relative in Maine.  They left shortly there after.  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and milk and sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with butter, and a glass of 50% passion punch and 50% cold filtered water, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes, and I made my bed.   I put the olive moss green corduroy slip cover over the green and yellow damask slip cover on the Scott family sofa.  I put four of the olive striped pillow covers on the brown and white pillows, and I put them on the center back of the Scott family sofa, and I still have the larger beige damask pillows at either end.  I put the fifth pillow cover on the green and red apple pillow on the chair beneath the stereo setup.  Overall, it is a change that I did for now, and it looks quite well.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop, and I was able to return the Berber runner for $35 shop credit.  I bought for $20 each, a 19 inch EIZO L66 LCD monitor and a 19 inch EIZO Flexscan L661 monitor for $40 total.  I then returned home.  I threw out the 10 year old CompUSA 19 inch CRT monitor that I had on my bedroom window shelf and the 17 inch Dell Trinitron monitor that I had in my bedroom closet.  I took the two Dell 19 inch monitors off the FIC server, and I put them in the same places as the monitors I threw out.  I then put on the FIC server on the left side the EIZO Flexscan L661 LCD monitor on the right side the EIZO L66 LCD monitor.  The L661 is 85 MHz,and the L66 is 75 MHz.  The L66 is nine years old and the L661 is 8 years old, but they both work quite well.  I set them up.  I keep the right monitor turned off when one turns on the monitor control panel switch for both monitors, but one can turn it on with the switch on the right side of the base at the front.  I figured when I am not using the second monitor, which is frequently, I can keep it turned off.  I watered the plants.  I threw out the garbage and old periodical literature.

Tropical Storm HANNA 3 day cone

Hurricane IKE 5 day tracking cone

Bermuda watch out Tropical Storm JOSEPHINE 5 day tracking cone

Looks like Nantucket might get wet this weekend.  I hope no big trees fall down in downtown Nantucket.  Basically with tropical weather, you have to make your own best guess.  It also looks like Washington D.C. might get a bit of the same storm.  More than likely it will pick up strength once it leaves the shallow waters of the Bahamas to warmer deeper waters of the Atlantic.  Thus President Bush www.whitehouse.gov will have some more experience at home with hurricane preparedness.  More than likely the least worst case scenario is that some people might lose electricity.  I will also eat a bowl of the pineapple strawberry mixture before going to bed.

Note: <888> 09/05/08 Friday 12:15 A.M.  I woke up at 6 A.M. on Thursday morning, when a friend called from eastern Connecticut.  The friend told me was voting for www.johnmccain.com which is interesting since he is a well known Vermont liberal.  The friend also told me the Kitty Hawk is being retired, and I suggested they make it into a museum like the Intrepid.  He also told me General Dynamics is launching a new submarine that will be stationed somewhere down south. I chatted for a while about the price of tea in China.  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and milk and sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with butter, and a glass of 50% passion punch and 50% cold filtered water, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I washed the breakfast dishes, and I made my bed.  I gathered some paper work together.  I chatted with an associate.  I went outside, and I threw out the garbage.  I chatted with neighbors.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I sat out for a while chatting with a neighbor waiting for the mail to arrive.  I finally went out at noon.  I sat around the Greenwich Town Hall, and at 1 P.M., I filled out the information for my NEON energy assistance grant.  I then went to my usual 1:30 P.M. appointment.  I then went to my usual 3 P.M. appointment.  I then went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop, and I bought a CuisineArt DCL8 food processor machine with two extra blades and blade elevator along with the dough blade and regular blade for $3.75.  It was missing its round white pusher, but I had a spare one off the spare CuisineArt in the bedroom closet.  I then bought an 35 foot by 40 inch roll of white Berber carpet bound with web antislip padding for $35.  I put it in the back seat, so there is not too much weight in the rear of the Audi.  I am taking both items to my relative's house in Maine. The carpet will fit well in the basement, since they got rid of the brown 24 foot by 36 inch Bigelow broadloom runner, since it smelled of cigarette smoke.  I then went by the Chase Bank on Mason Street.  I then returned home.  I picked up my mail, and the rent statement had arrived.  I went back out to the Chase Bank on Mason Street, and then I went by the Wachovia Bank on Havemeyer Place which is opened until 6 P.M., and I paid my rent to the Greenwich Housing Authority.  I then returned home.  I tested the CusineArt, and it works fine. I put it in the trunk of the Audi.  I also put the red and white 26 quart Iglo picnic cooler container in the trunk to take to Maine.  They can use it to buy cold items at www.samsclub.com or taking it to the beach, since they only have a smaller one.  I went inside and outside a few times chatting with neighbors, and waiting for UPS.  I called them after 8 P.M., but the scheduled shipment never arrived and its web page has not changed.

$5.45 to send the spare keys and manual and assembly instructions and receipts to my relative priority mail.

Thus I had $195.34 invested in the bike setup that I never used.  However, I bought the Bike for half price with free shipping, and I assembled it. The Krypton lock and helmet were also discount items.  However, I am somewhat awkward on a bike at my weight of 211 pounds, and there is so much traffic around here, I did not consider it safe to ride the bike particularly at night.  Also we have local daytime and evening bus service, I think 7 days a week, if the Audi is not available anytime in the future.  Also the relative that I gave it to is thinner and better shape than me, and as I recall the roads in his immediate neighborhood are relatively flat and less busy for about a half mile radius.  He can use it for the neighborhood patrol or some other local activity.  I only road the bike around in a circle a couple of times in our building parking lot.  I assembled it, and I lubricated it when I assembled it two years ago.  It has never been out in the weather, just gathering dust in the apartment.  It might need to have the chain lubricated, but I don't know.  It was made in China like everything else.  The tires take 65 PSI.  I had the chain with the master lock attached to the seat, so the seat could not be stolen if the bike were secured with the krypton lock.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/02/08 Tuesday 11:15 P.M.  The Queen Mary II is back in Manhattan on Thursday, September 4, 2008 for a return trip to South Hampton, England QM2 - Itinerary - 2008.  I heard a few English accents downtown tonight, so maybe there are a few British visitors around.  I ate five dried apricots.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/02/08 Tuesday 10:45 P.M.  I went out after the last note.  I went by the Greenwich Library, and I chatted with the reference librarian.  I read P.C. World magazine.  I then went downtown, and I found a pair of black aviator sun glasses with dark grey lens but not wrap around ear pieces.  They sort of look like Porsche sun glasses, but they don't have a name on them.  I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I walked around the far south side of the train station.  I also used the bathroom at Starbucks.  I stopped by CVS, and I picked up a prescription.  I also bought a 1.06 ounce container of Italian seasoning for .99.  I also walked east on East Putnam Avenue as far as Mason street and back on the north side of the street.  I finished my walk.  During my walk, I chatted with a few locals.  I then returned home.  I chatted with a relative.  I put the pair of black aviator sun glasses on the oak dining table with the other glasses, and I put them in spare glass case I had.  I ate 10 dried apricots.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/02/08 Tuesday 6:50 P.M. I ate hamburger on a bun with a slice of processed cheese and ketchup along with steamed cauliflower and baby carrots with butter, olive oil, and Italian seasoning along with a glass of passion punch.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go downtown for a while.  CIO

This morning before going to bed, I moved the brass shell lamp from the oak dining table to the computer table above the telephone tea table, so one can see the telephone better.  I put the small lamp from there at the bedroom entrance on the bookcase, and I moved the bumble bee lamp from on top of the bedroom television to the oak dining table on the rear side, so one can use it for reading in the recliner.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/02/08 Tuesday 5:40 P.M.  I woke up during the night, and I watched a program on the volcano in Congo on channel 13 PBS.  I surfed the internet.  I ate 15 dried apricots.  I finally woke up at 11:30 A.M. this morning.  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and milk and sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with butter, and a glass of 50% passion punch and 50% cold filtered water, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.  I chatted with my relatives traveling here.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I went outside, and I chatted with neighbors.  I picked up my mail.  The order from www.ordersmokesdirect.com for 5 cartons of King Mountain Ultra Lights 100s arrived.  My relatives arrived at 2:40 P.M.  They used the bathroom.  They took the family car back down south with them.  Since the family car was empty, they put the luggage from the station wagon in it, and I gave them my Mongoose Mountain bike which I never used along with the Krypton lock and orange bike helmet. I gave them a key for the Krypton lock and the Master Lock with chain to secure the seat.  After they left, I found the instructions and other paper work along with two other Krypton lock keys and one master lock key, and I went over the Valley Road Post Office, and I mail them to them two days Priority Mail and for $4.80 with .65 delivery confirmation for $5.45 total.  I put in a card to hold my mail from Monday, September 8, 2008 to Monday, September 22, 2008, or whenever I show up to pick it up.  The order for four FRYS.com | Antec Antec TriCool 80mm Blue LED Fans for $3 each with free shipping for $12 total arrived.  I put them on the right cupboard sideboard in the bedroom.  My relatives brought down a 2 foot by 4 foot runner rug like I have underneath the computer chair.  I put it at the apartment entrance, so the door still clears it.  I put the white oriental rug back in the bedroom. They also brought down a navy blue 2 foot by 6 foot bound runner that I put underneath the right side of the bedroom  bed.  The living room now has a bit more room with Mongoose Mountain Bike gone.  I chatted with a relative.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/01/08 Monday 10:20 P.M.  I watched a bit of television.  I chatted with a friend.  I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon.  I might get up in the morning and go for a walk.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/01/08 Monday 9:20 P.M.  I chatted with two relatives.  I will try to go to bed earlier tonight around midnight, so I will back on a day schedule.  I have three appointments on Thursday afternoon, and I should be on a day schedule also next Monday, when I have to travel.  I will see if there is anything on television now.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/01/08 Monday 7:50 P.M.  I ate a fried a 8 ounce hamburger with a slice of processed cheese on a lightly toasted bun with ketchup and sautéed onions along with a bowl of steamed baby carrots and cauliflower with olive oil and butter and Italian spices and grated parmesan cheese and watered down passion punch.  I sautéed the burger and onions for about 3.5 minutes a side turning frequently in olive oil, butter, Italian seasoning, ground black pepper, garlic powder, and for the last few minutes, I put the cheese on  the burger with a couple of tablespoons of Kikkoman soy sauce.  CIO

Note: <888> 09/01/08 Monday 6:45 P.M.  I woke up at 1 P.M..  I had a wireless telephone message from my traveling relative that he was on the way with the family car.  I chatted with another relative in Kennebunkport, Maine.  I am now going to drive up to Kennebunkport, Maine and stay with my relative on Monday September 8, 2008.  I will stay there for about two weeks.  I will probably have to take some warmer clothes up with me.  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and milk and sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with butter, and a glass of 50% passion punch and 50% cold filtered water, and a cup of coffee with milk and splenda.    We had a smoke fire alarm at a neighbors apartment, but there was no problem just smoke from a hamburger.  I called the fire department to let them know it was not major.  They sent one truck to check it out.  I made my bed.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I threw out the garbage.  I chatted with some neighbors.  I showered, and I cleaned up.  I stood outside chatting with neighbors for a while.  I used my Stanley scraper, and I put a new Connecticut registration in my neighbor's windshield.  I notice my Connecticut registration expires on the Audi on January 2009, so I will have to pay $84 to get another one for two years, probably in December 2008.  My relative and friend arrived at 4:25 P.M..  They dropped off the family car.  I drove them over to the Greenwich Train station, and I dropped them off at 4:45 P.M. for their 5:12 P.M. train into Manhattan.  They went to get a slice of pizza at Planet Pizza.  I went by CVS, and I bought two more of the deluxe folding chairs for $7.95 both that a neighbor wanted them.  I then mailed the Microsoft Money 2006 income versus spending report for August 2008 to an interested relative.  I then returned home, and I sold the two folding chairs to neighbors who wanted them for $8.  I then chatted with neighbors.  I then chatted with a relative.  I then ate five dried apricots.  CIO

I printed out the notes for a total of 215 pages bound in two Clamp binders.  I put them on the round oak table by the recliner.  The notes are now 6741 pages long all together.

I took the two vases off the dining room table, and I put them back in the stereo bookcases.  I took the dark round oak lazy Susan from underneath the Northgate Syntax LCD monitor, and I put it on the Round Oak Dining table with the White Star Line place mat on it along with the large old European beer stein which is larger than the vases and the three candle sticks.  CIO
