Note:<888> 08/31/06 Thursday 1:30 P.M.:   I finished installing the free AOL on the Toshiba laptop.    I went outside, and I chatted with some neighbors.  One of my neighbors has thrown out a new piece of carpet that broke in half in the roll, but the two unbroken sides could be aligned together and still used, if someone needs it.   It is lying along side the dumpster.   I ate a bowl of K.C. Masterpiece Barbeque potato chips, a few handfuls of peanuts, and 1/5 piece of pineapple cheese cake with some iced tea.    www.fedex.com just delivered the computer case.   I chatted with the FedEx delivery person about tropical storm activity.   I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will go out for my 3 P.M. appointment.   I will configure the backup computer, when I return.    CIO

Note:<888> 08/31/06 Thursday 9:50 A.M.:   I woke up at 5 A.M..   I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee.   I washed the dishes, and I made my bed.  I showered, and I cleaned up.   I went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.   I chatted with another morning walker about economics.   I chatted with the construction crew working on the store just south of the Greenwich Hardware store, and they told me it is going to be a Rugby store, which seems to be odd for Greenwich Avenue.   I stopped by CVS, and I toured the store.   They have sold out of the Sylvania energy efficient bulbs.   The same bulb in the RTH brand sells for $5 each there, so each two pack is worth $10.   Thus I have $140 in energy efficient bulbs in reserve.   I might check with some relatives to see if they need them.    I also have a lot of other spare light bulbs, so I easily have over $200 in spare light bulbs in reserve, so as long as I can afford electricity, we should be able to keep the lights on in Greenwich, Connecticut at night in the near future, providing we have electricity, where ever that comes from and from whatever energy source.   After I completed my walk, I chatted with a resident from Germany.   I then returned home.    I noticed when I was going by the police and fire station, the detective division is now in a trailer on the back side of the primary fire and police station.   Hopefully, their trailer will have enough heat this winter.   I returned home, and I chatted with a neighbor.   I chatted with a relative.    My order for XG Box Viper2 10-Bay Aluminum Mid ATX Gaming Case-No PS(Red) XG CA-V2-WOP-R-CUSA Viper 2 for $48.99 plus two packs of Deluxe UDMA/100/133 Motherboard Cable Set w/Screws/Standoffs for one for $2.25 and one for $1.27 plus $2.95 shipping with coupon code "SHIP295" on over a $50 order for $55.46 total  is out for delivery FedEx | Track .   FedEx usually arrives here about noon.    I have my usual 3 P.M. appointment today.   CIO

Note:<888> 08/30/06 Wednesday 6:15 P.M.:   I chatted with a relative and a contact out of town.   Apparently with the current tracking Tropical Depression ERNESTO five day tracking, coming ashore on the Carolina's border, and going inland towards the foot hills of the Appalachian mountains, there could be flooding on those river basins and watersheds, since down in Florida the storm has between 5 and 15 inches of rain, and having the storm over a larger area of land, it would mean more water running down in the river basins and watersheds of the area.   The worse case scenario from my perspective based on what I know a lot of water could come down the Potomac River, and the low lying areas of Virginia might flood.    That also might mean some of the low lying areas of Washington D.C. might flood, but having never lived in that area, I am not sure how far the Capitol area is above the river flood plain.   I think the Lee family mansion is on higher ground than the White House www.whitehouse.gov from what I remember, the White House is only about 10 feet above the banks of the Potomac, but it is the nature of flooding that water tends to run around its lowest point of access, and we all know that Washington D.C. supposedly has some underground facilities, so possibly there might be a problem down there in a couple of days.   However, people tend to be away until after Labor Day, so maybe things will be all right by then depending on what happens.  Water also tends to run off fairly fast in that area as I recall, once the storm surge in the river has gone down.   CIO

Note:<888> 08/30/06 Wednesday 2:55 P.M.:    I put an inch of water in a three quart Revere pot with steamer tray and lid, and I put in two ears of sweet corn, and about a cup of baby carrots and broccoli crowns, and I steamed them on high electric heat, until the water began to steam, and then I lowered the electric heat to medium to medium high.   All together, I cooked the vegetables for 15 minutes.   During the last 8 minutes of the vegetables steaming,  I put a couple of tablespoons of olive oil in a 7 inch diameter stick proof frying pan on medium high electric heat, once the oil became hot, I put the last two of the boneless 5/8th inch thick pork chop medallions in the frying pan.  I seasoned them on both sides with garlic powder, ground black pepper, and Italian seasoning cooking them over medium electric heat flipping them with a cooking fork every minute for six minutes all together.   During the last two minutes, I put in a few tablespoons of La Choy low sodium soy sauce, and I let the chops simmer in it while the soy sauce evaporated flipping them once, and then I put them on a dinner plate with two ears of corn on the cob with a little bit of olive oil on the steamed corn, and I put the other vegetables in a bowl with a little bit of olive oil on them.  I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.   I then washed the breakfast dishes.   CIO

Note:<888> 08/30/06 Wednesday 1:45 P.M.:   I went out after the last message.   I went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop, and I donated the items to them that I listed below.    I then went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.    I sat out at various locations.   I spent a $1.25 parking downtown.   During my walk, I chatted with one retired individual, and I walked him back to his retirement home.   I stopped by CVS.   I then went by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street.    I then returned to CVS, and I bought eight two packs of the Sylvania energy efficient light bulbs for $1.99 each two pack  plus .96 tax for $16.88 total.   At the end of my walk, I chatted with another retired individual, and I sold two of the two packs of energy efficient light bulbs to the individual for $2 each for $4 total, so I only spent $12.88 on the six packages that I kept.   I used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center.   I then drove down by the waterfront.   I then stopped by the Arnold Bread outlet, and I bought a six pack of New York everything bagels for $1.85 and a 24 ounce Entenmann's pineapple cheese cake for $2 less 10% senior discount of .39 for $3.46 total.   I then returned home, and I picked up my mail.    I put the spare bulbs on the side board shelf in the bedroom.   I moved some computer items from that location to the white bookcase.    I chatted with a friend.  I chatted with a relative.     CIO

Note:<888> 08/30/06 Wednesday 8:20 A.M.:   I was up at 5 A.M..   I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee.   I washed the dishes, and I made my bed.  I went outside, and I threw out some garbage, and I chatted with some neighbors.   I had an old trunk in the left side of my bedroom closet full of old clothes that no longer fit me.   Later on this morning I am donating to the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop.

32 Oxford Shirts

1 Flannel Shirt

11 pairs of casual pants

1 trunk

1 aquarium light

1 aquarium light bulb

2 rolls of grass cloth wall paper

I also threw out the old Dell V350 computer in the dumpster which still has its EISA sound card and memory in it.   I also threw out the broken Braun cappuccino espresso machine.    Thus my bedroom closet is a little bit better organized for every day use.   I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will shower, and I will clean up, and I will go out.   CIO

Note:<888> 08/29/06 Tuesday 4:40 P.M.:    I cleaned my two pairs of reading glass and my old pair of sun glasses in the Sharper Image Eyeglass Cleaning machine.   I first put dishwashing liquid and hot water in it, and I ran each pair through about four cycles, and I then rinsed them underneath fresh water and set them out.   I then ran each pair through several cycles of a 50% vinegar and 50% warm water solution, and I rinsed them off.  I then polished the lens with the polishing cloth.   I tightened the eye frame screws with the tiny eye glass screw driver I keep on my dining table.   I also removed the retaining straps while cleaning them.   They seem to be much clearer.   I put the Sharper Image eye glass cleaning machine in the white book shelf in the bedroom that I just installed.   I also put the small camera bag there.   I installed six of the Sylvania 13 watt but glows like 60 watt fluorescent bulbs in the six remaining light fixtures in the apartment that did not have them.   I also installed an extension cord from the computer power control switch that controls the light above the computer, and it now also controls the light beneath Granddad Boven's Excerpts from Boven Dutch Apple Pie and Boven Family Crest portrait, so it does not stay on all the time, which would be a nuisance if one were trying to sleep on the living room couches.   They thus both turn off with the switch on the computer power control center.   I put the remaining 5 two packs of the Sylvania 13 watt fluorescent bulbs in the on the lower shelf of the white book shelf in the bedroom, and I put the package of four spare bent tip bulbs in my small bulb drawer in the bedroom mahogany bureau.   I also have a large supply of spare regular light bulbs that use more electricity.  CIO

Note:<888> 08/29/06 Tuesday 2:15 P.M.:   I went out after the last message.   I went downtown, and I walked the lower Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.   I then checked out bent tip bulbs at the Greenwich Hardware store, but they did not come in four packs which are cheaper.   I then went by CVS, and I bought a four pack of RTH 25 watt bent tip bulbs for $3.99, and they had a sales promotion of two www.sylvania.com 13 watt soft white mini 60 compact fluorescent bulbs which put out about 60 watts of light and each bulb lasts about 7 years and saves $37 I guess during the life of the bulb for $1.99 a two pack, so I bought 8 two packs for $15.92 plus $1.19 tax for $21.10 total.  The display with the bargain bulbs is at the far right of the front store check out counter.   I think the bulbs are normally about $8 apiece, so it is a saving on the cost of the bulb and the electricity used.   I did not walk upper Greenwich Avenue, but I returned to my car.   I then went by the Greenwich Library, and I read the Financial Times of London.   There was an articles in it today about the German process from the 1920s for converting coal into gas, which is suppose to be more energy efficient than ethanol.  I then went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop.   They have a couple of dozen used 20 inch Phillips color television sets for $20 apiece.   I bought a Sharper Image : You Can See Clearly Now Deluxe Eyeglass Cleaner : Eyeglass Cleaners for $10.   It did not come with the cleaning solution, but I can buy it here Sharper Image : Additional Eyeglass Cleaning and Conditioning Concentrate for the Automatic Eyeglass Cleaner , however at $9.95 and .95 tax and $5.95 shipping it would cost me $16.85, which I can not afford at the moment, but I might order in the future.   This page How to Clean Eyeglasses - eHow.com , says I can use a little warm soapy water, which I might try for now.   I put four new CVS AA alkaline batteries in the eye glass cleaning unit, and it seems to work.  Of course this is how to make one's own cleaning agent - Formula for LENZ-BRITE Liquid Eyeglass Cleaner and "Anti-Fog" .  Of course I am cheap, as you all know, and this Keeping Your Eyeglass Lenses Clean article at constant-content.com says one can use one part vinegar and one part water, so maybe  I will try it shortly.  Or possibly to do some warm soapy water first, and then the vinegar and water mixture second.   It came with a new glasses polishing cloth.   I then returned home, and I chatted with a relative, and I left a call back message with someone on the Microsoft Partner program.   I also picked up my mail.   I will also check around the apartment, and I will replace any regular light bulbs with the new low wattage light bulbs, and I already have 7 installed that the Greenwich Housing Authority gave me.   CIO

Note:<888> 08/29/06 Tuesday 8:40 A.M.:   I rested until 7:45 A.M..  I put an inch of water in a three quart Revere pot with steamer tray and lid, and I put in two ears of sweet corn, and about a cup of baby carrots and broccoli crowns, and I steamed them on high electric heat, until the water began to steam, and then I lowered the electric heat to medium to medium high.   All together, I cooked the vegetables for 15 minutes.   During the last 8 minutes of the vegetables steaming,  I put a couple of tablespoons of olive oil in a 7 inch diameter stick proof frying pan on medium high electric heat, once the oil became hot, I put two of the boneless 5/8th inch thick pork chop medallions in the frying pan, and I put the other two in a Rubbermaid container in the refrigerator. It is suppose to be raining all day, but I guess I could venture out to the library or some deluxe venture like that.   I could always take a walk on Greenwich Avenue with my umbrella, but I would have to pay 25 cents a half hour to park over in the high rent district.   I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will clean up, and I will go out.   CIO

Note:<888> 08/28/06 Monday 11:55 A.M.:   I went out after the last message.   I chatted with some neighbors.   I found a painted white solid wooden bookcase by the dumpster with three shelves besides the top and bottom which is 40.5 inches high, 20.5 inches wide, and 7.5 inches deep.   I brought it up to my apartment, and I dried it off.   I moved the paper shredder from between the opened bedroom door and the white bureau, and I put the white bookcase in that location.   It just fits in, but the door will not open all the way flush with the wall, but it opens most of the way.   Thus I have a little bit extra storage room in the bedroom.   I moved the paper shredder and wire folding cart to in front of the white bureau.   I then went out, and I went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop.   I then drove down by the waterfront on Steamboat Road, and two of the regular fishermen were catching blue fish.   I noticed over in Belle Haven, they have torn down Victor Borge's house and they are in the process of tearing down the Watson www.ibm.com family home.   I believe each property was listed for $18.5 million, so I do not know if they are subdividing them both into two acre lots or if they are making one $37 million lot.   I noticed they also have taken out the dock at the Watson property.   Thus the waterfront seems to be getting more expensive in Greenwich, Connecticut.   I next went by the Greenwich Library, and I read P.C. Magazine and P.C. World magazine.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a package of four boneless pork chop medallions for $3.59 a pound for $3.63, two 16 ounce jars of Planter's dry roasted lightly salted peanuts for $2 each, fresh Chiquita bananas for .24 a pound .82, and four ears of sweet corn on the cob for .67 for $9.12 total.   I then returned home.  I picked up my mail, and I chatted with my neighbors.   I chatted with a relative.    CIO

Note:<888> 08/26/06 Saturday 6:55 A.M.:   I was awake at 10 P.M..  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee.   I washed the dishes, and I made my bed.  I chatted with a relative.   I took a couple parts from the server, and I assembled those parts along with parts from the Northgate Syntax computer, and I have them ready for the new red Viper case when it arrives this Wednesday.  I reconfigured the Northgate Syntax computer with parts from the Dell V350 computer, and the Northgate Syntax computer is now on the left side of the bedroom desk, and it runs just fine.   The Dell V350 case stripped of its parts is on the floor of the bedroom at the bedroom entrance in front of the white bureau.   The way the computers are and will be configured when I received the new red aluminum case is http://mikelouisscott.com/computer.htm .   I also exchanged the Pontec speakers from the bedroom with the Jensen speakers from the living room, since the Pontec power cable did not work off the bedroom control panel.  Thus there is no working CPU attached to the brass and glass coffee table configuration in the living room until I get the new case this Wednesday.   CIO

Note:<888> 08/25/06 Friday 2:20 P.M.:   I did some regular internet work.  I ate two scoops of peaches and cream ice cream.   I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will go to bed soon.   CIO

Note:<888> 08/25/06 Friday 11:20 A.M.:   I went out after the last message, and I dropped by my donations at the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop.   They gave me a receipt for the donations.   I then went by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street.   I then went to the Barbershop, beauty salon, haircuts - Old Greenwich, Connecticut in Old Greenwich, and I had my hair cut for $20 and $5 tip for $25 total.  I walked over to the Old Greenwich Rummage Room, but they do not open again until August 28, after their summer break.   I then went by CVS, and I bought two 9 ounce cans of CVS  roasted salted almonds for $2.99 each for $5.98 total.  I got my usual short preppy hair cut that I get every three months.   I then returned home.   I chatted with a relative.   I mailed the receipt for the donations along with a list of items to a relative.   I ate few handfuls of dry roasted peanuts.   I will now go downstairs, and I will pick up my mail.  CIO

Note:<888> 08/25/06 Friday 7:50 A.M.:  I opened up a 18 ounce can of Progresso New England clam chowder, and I put it in a microwave proof plastic pot with lid, and I heating it on one reheat cycle of the General Electric microwave oven.   I will eat it in a large Cobalt Blue soup bowl with a glass of iced tea.   I will now shut down the primary computer, and after I eat the soup, I will shower, and I will clean up, and I will go out.   CIO

Note:<888> 08/25/06 Friday 7:25 A.M.:  I was able to transfer the files from the server to the primary computer quickly, by unbridging the LAN connections on the primary computer.   However, with the LAN connections unbridged the primary computer would not go online, so I had to rebridge them.   I might have to do with the D-Link Router.  Instead of going through my email, I sorted out the old clothes from my closets from when I weighed about 165 pounds, which was some time ago compared to weighing 200 pounds today.  I will be donating to the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop today when they open this morning.

I will donate them in a relative's name, so they can take the tax deduction.

I turned on the Honeywell Hepa air purifier in the apartment to have cleaner smelling air despite the electricity costs.   I now have to disable System Restore and reenable it to get System Restore going again.   Tracking on the order for XG Box Viper2 10-Bay Aluminum Mid ATX Gaming Case-No PS(Red) XG CA-V2-WOP-R-CUSA Viper 2 for $48.99 plus two packs of Deluxe UDMA/100/133 Motherboard Cable Set w/Screws/Standoffs for one for $2.25 and one for $1.27 plus $2.95 shipping with coupon code "SHIP295" on over a $50 order for $55.46 total  is FedEx | Track .   CIO

Note:<888> 08/25/06 Friday 3:25 A.M.:  I did my chores.   I also put the small captain's chair from the bedroom entrance in the rear of the car to give to the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop.   It tended to block the bedroom entrance area.   The two cushions for it, I put underneath the cushion on the chair between the mahogany bureau and the desk in the bedroom.   I will not be doing house cleaning today, since the apartment is basically pretty clean.  For some reason copy the files from the server to the primary computer takes to long, unlike the Northgate Syntax backup computer, so since I have them backed up elsewhere, it does not matter.   Possibly their is bottleneck on my network with the four LAN connections on the primary computer.   It should not take so long.  I will now go through my email.   CIO

Note:<888> 08/25/06 Friday 2:20 A.M.:  After the last message, I chatted with a relative before going to bed.   I chatted with a relative while I was in bed.   I woke up at 1 A.M..   I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee.  I will now wash the breakfast dishes and make my bed.   I will also water the plants, and I will put a scent bowl out of more white vinegar on the window ledge.   While doing that I will copy the files from the server over the network to my primary computer for extra backup purposes.  I will also throw out the garbage and the old periodical literature.  CIO

Note:<888> 08/24/06 Thursday 5:15 P.M.:   I went out after the last message, and I went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop.   I then went to my usual Thursday 3 P.M. appointment.   I then went by the Greenwich Automotive Services Exxon gasoline station, and I bought $8 of premium unleaded self service gasoline for $3.559 a gallon for 29.1 miles driving this past week at 13.9 miles per gallon at an average of 14 miles per hour around town.    I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a pound of baby carrots for $1.99, broccoli crowns at $1.49 a pound for $1.36 and four ears of fresh corn for .62 for $3.97 total.    I then returned home.  I brought up my mail.   BBC NEWS | Science/Nature | Nasa names new spacecraft 'Orion' .   I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will eat two scoops of peaches and cream ice cream.   I will then go to bed.   Have a good evening.   CIO

Note:<888> 08/24/06 Thursday 12:50 A.M.:  I microwaved a Banquet 7 ounce chicken pot pie, and I ate it in a bowl with the remaining olive and chick pea mixture in another bowl along with a glass of iced tea.   I moved the telephone tea table from the living room into the bathroom, and I moved the telephone table from the bathroom into the living room with the telephones on it by the chair at the apartment entrance.  I put the flash lights and lanterns on its lower shelf.   I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will shower, and I will clean up, and I will go out for my 3 P.M. appointment.   CIO

Note:<888> 08/24/06 Thursday 11:55 A.M.:   I could possibly order this PCPROGRESS.com ATI RADEON 7500 64MB DDR OEM AGP DVI CONNECTION ONLY DVI TO VGA ADAPTER SOLD SEPARATELY  , and I have a DVI cable that I could use on my primary computer 20 inch monitor, and I could use the primary computer DVI to VGA adapter on the card in the server.   It is probably the most reasonable way to do it, but I will think about it, and I guess I could do it today, but first I will think about it.   Of course for $20 more, it would be nice to have 256 MB, so I think I will wait for a couple of months or so.   The adapter is available here ATI DVI-2-VGA DVI to VGA adapter for Twin-View video cards - OEM at Newegg.com .CIO

Note:<888> 08/24/06 Thursday 11:45 A.M.:   I could order this video cardPCPROGRESS.com ATI RADEON 7500 64MB DDR OEM AGP DVI CONNECTION ONLY DVI TO VGA ADAPTER SOLD SEPARATELY  with free shipping for the XG box computer or PCPROGRESS.com POWERED BY ATI RADEON 9200SE 128MB DDR NO DVI AGP OEM  for the server, but I think I will wait until I can afford Nvidia GeForce FX5200 256MB DDR AGP Video Card w/TV and DVI Albatron A5200-256MB  plus $2.95 shipping with coupon code "SHIP295" on over a $50 order, which I could probably afford around the time I get my renter's rebate around Thanksgiving time.   The new computer case is really all that I can afford until I get my renter's rebate, since I might have unplanned expenses, and I have auto insurance and electricity starting again in October.   CIO

Note:<888> 08/24/06 Thursday 10:35 A.M.:   I have the spare parts to build another faster computer, but I need another case, so I ordered XG Box Viper2 10-Bay Aluminum Mid ATX Gaming Case-No PS(Red) XG CA-V2-WOP-R-CUSA Viper 2 for $48.99 plus two packs of Deluxe UDMA/100/133 Motherboard Cable Set w/Screws/Standoffs for one for $2.25 and one for $1.27 plus $2.95 shipping with coupon code "SHIP295" on over a $50 order for $55.46 total.   I will build the system with my spare Epox motherboard, and I will use the 20 gigabyte hard drive from the Northgate Syntax backup computer, and the AMD Athlon XP 2000 processor, along with a LAN card, and I will use the DVD/R from the server or one of the two DVD/RW from the primary computer and I have extra CD/RW drives in the other backup computers, and I will use the 64 meg. PCI video card from the server, and I will put the 8 meg. PCI video card in the Northgate as the second video card in the server, and the red viper case comes with two case fans, and I have two spare CPU coolers, and the red viper case comes without a power supply, but I have two new spare power supplies, so I can configure it with one 512 meg. memory chip.  On the Northgate Syntax computer, I can put in the spare AMD Duron 1.6 meg. processor, and the second 10 gigabyte hard drive from the Dell V350, along with letting it only have one CD/RW drive, and I can run it with the remaining 256 meg. memory chip.   I can put Linux on the Dell V350 and the Northgate Syntax, so basically I will have the much slower Dell V350 working, but I will not have it setup, since there is no room for it, and I don't have a monitor for it.   I can always add a 64 meg. PCI video card at a later date to the server for about $20 with shipping.   Thus for $50, I will have a backup computer that runs four times faster than the Dell V350, and I will have improved the backup coffee table computer.  The Viper 2 case http://www.xgbox.com/  sells for twice as much at CompUSA.com: MGE Company XG Viper 2 ATX & micro-ATX Mid-Tower Case, No Power Supply - CA-V2-WOP-R - Computer Upgrades » Computer Cases ,  and with a power supply it sells for $150, if one looks at the other prices on the net.   It comes with two case fans, and it is an aluminum case, and it has good air flow, and leading edge technology.  I think it is the same as this one XG Viper CA-V2-WOP-R Red Computer Case With Side Panel Window - Retail at Newegg.com which is considerably more.   CIO

Note:<888> 08/24/06 Thursday 5:40 A.M.:   Instead of going out after the last message, I took an old fashioned republican nap like Calvin Coolidge until about 5 P.M..   I went outside, and I aired out the heat build up from the car.   I said hello to some neighbors.   I picked up my mail.   I went back to bed until about 8 P.M..   I chatted with a relative and a friend.   I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee.   I went back to sleep until 1 A.M..   I did  some bottom fishing on the internet.  I washed the breakfast dishes, and I made up the sofa where I took my nap.   I have a couple of pillows stuffed underneath the French reproduction chair with the sheep skin on it.   I read my primary computer Gigabyte motherboard manual, and the primary computer does not completely turn off.  Its fans keep going once the computer is turned off by its case switch.   I tried changing the case power cable around on the motherboard, but that did not make a difference.  I removed the front panel, and the case front wires looked all right.   All I can figure out it the current power supply interacts with the motherboard differently than the previous power supply that is now in the server.   I lowered the primary computer power supply fan to medium from high speed.   I cleaned the case filter at the front of the CPU.  It all seems to be working just fine.  I just will have to continue turning off the complete power to the computer with the UPC device and the control panel.   I will now do some more bottom fishing on the internet, and I will go through my email.   CIO

Note:<888> 08/23/06 Wednesday 6:15 A.M.:   I reheated the breaded chicken and rice in their Rubbermaid containers on one vegetable cycle of the www.ge.com microwave oven, and I put them on a dinner plate, and I put one third of the remaining chic pea and olive mixture in a bowl, and I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.    I figure I am doing better in the current www.whitehouse.gov administration, so I logged on to http://www.georgebush.com/ , and I went to GOP.com | Republican National Committee :: Contribute , and I donated $2 to the Republican Party.   Of course one has to realize I already donate a considerable amount of time and my spare funds towards volunteering locally here in the Greenwich, Connecticut community both within the community and on the internet.   I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will shower, and I will clean up, and I will go out for my usual morning walk.    CIO

Boeing's New Airplane - the 787 DreamLiner > English use username: wdtpreview, password: wdtpreview .  At the moment, my air force consists of a $1.50 balsa wood glider toy airplane from the Ridgefield, Connecticut hardware store, which I bought when I ventured up there to charge up my car battery some time this past spring.   I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will go to bed soon.   I will probably be awake around 1 P.M.   CIO

Note:<888> 08/21/06 Monday 6:00 A.M.:  I did a few more apartment tweaks.    I put the four Radio Shack nickel cadmium rechargeable batteries in the Radio Shack battery charger, and they will be fully charged at 1:30 P.M..   I used two of them in the Emerson wireless headset connected to the stereo, and they last about two to three hours a charge.   One has to change the Radio Shack battery charger from Metal Hydride to Nickel Cadmium depending on the type of rechargeable batteries that one uses in it.   I also have four unused metal hydride rechargeable AAA batteries that I got as a clearance item at CVS on  Greenwich Avenue recently.   The MIT observer www.mit.edu reminded me that MIT had a nuclear reactor on campus, so more than likely they still have electricity to keep their computers going.  However, being at MIT, it is probably one of those original graphite reactors such as out at the Brookhaven National Laboratory Brookhaven National Laboratory - A Passion for Discovery across Long Island sound from Greenwich, Connecticut.   I fixed the Auto Arrange icons feature on my primary computer which some how was disabled.  CIO

Note:<888> 08/21/06 Monday 4:10 A.M.:   I tweaked some areas around the apartment.   If anyone is short on fuel and has a microwave oven, the last time I checked a 10 pound bag of Carolina enriched rice similar to Uncle Ben's was $4.99 at the Stop and Shop.   One can easily cook it up this way Michael Louis Scott's Microwave Oven Rice Recipe .  One can add a little tomato ketchup or soy sauce or chicken or beef bouillon powder or sesame oil or olive oil or butter or margarine for a little flavoring.   Rice is very popular with the Asian and Hispanic communities, so as long as the price of it is inexpensive it tends to be a staple item in their diet.   However to ship 10 pounds from the Carolinas might cost a little bit more anymore, so possibly it has gone up in price.   Of course there are other forms of bullion, and if one had invested in them for the last few years, one more than likely kept up with inflation Kitco - Gold Precious Metals - Buy Gold Sell Gold, Silver, Platinum - Charts, Graphs, Prices, Quotes, Gold Stocks, Mining Stocks, bullion dealers .  My local expert in the field has not been too visible recently, but I still have his email address.  I have my usual biweekly 4 P.M. appointment today, so I should try to go to bed by 6 A.M..   I will now go through my email.  CIO

Note:<888> 08/21/06 Monday 2:20 A.M.:   After chatting with the local Italian group here in Greenwich, Connecticut, I thought I would make a cold summer European dish.   I opened a 15 ounce can of Goya chic peas, and I drained them with a strainer, and I put the chic peas in a large metal bowl, I then opened a 6 ounce dry can of large whole California black pitted olives, and I drained them with the strainer, and I then cut each one in half lengthwise, and I put them in the metal bowl.   I then peeled  a medium size yellow onion, and I diced it into approximately quarter inch square chunks, and I put them in the bowl.   I then added two teaspoons of Italian spices, a teaspoon of garlic powder, and a quarter teaspoon of ground black pepper, two tablespoons of lemon juice, two tablespoons of Colavita aged balsamic
