Note:<888> 07/31/06  Monday 3:30 A.M.:   I took a dinner plate, and I put on it about 2 ounces of baby spinach leaves that I rinsed under cold water with the salad spinner, and then I peeled and sliced into 1/16th inch thick slices one third of cucumber that I spread over the spinach, and then I opened a 2.75 ounce tin of Beach Cliff sardines in water, and I drained its fluid on the salad, and I minced the sardines into half inch square chunks, and I spread it over the salad.   I sliced eight .25 inch by .75 inch by 2.75 inch slices of Land-O-Lakes Monterey Jack cheddar cheese, and then I cut them into .25 inch by .25 inch by .75 inch slices, and I spread them over the salad.  I diced half of a medium onion, and I spread it over the salad.   I then added 11 grape tomatoes, and about 1/4th of a package of Cardini's  Caesar croutons, and 15 pitted black olives, and I sprinkled a couple of tablespoons of 4C grated parmesan cheese on it along with balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil.   I ate the salad with a glass of iced tea.  I washed the dishes.   I got the 2005 rent receipts, 2005 electricity bills, and the 2005 SSI statement ready for my Renter's Rebate.   Instead of going to my 4 P.M. appointment today, I will drop the information off later in the week when I have the car.   I will have to leave a message to that effect.   I tightened the screws on my eye glasses' frame, and I put a new blue cord on the frame, so they do not slip off.   The old one broke.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/30/06  Sunday 4:45 A.M.:   I ate a 5.5 ounce tube of Pringle sour cream and onion potato chips with some iced tea.   I guess one can safely say I pigged out on junk for dinner tonight.  Warmer weather is on the way Greenwich, Connecticut (06830) Conditions & Forecast : Weather Underground , so one should keep plenty of cold fluids and liquid refreshments handy.   Possibly one this Tuesday when it is 95 degrees Fahrenheit, and 97 degrees Fahrenheit on Wednesday, and 92 degrees Fahrenheit on Thursday, we should keep a sharp eye out for any visitors from Saudi Arabia, India, or Brazil or other hot climates coming here to cool off.    I do have a 4 P.M. appointment on Monday afternoon that I need to get some paper work ready for.   I really do not have any interest in ever returning to South Florida since I have relatives in mid Florida, it was simply an adventure when I was younger.   Normally in the United States of America, we are busy working on weekdays, so we try to get some extra rest on weekends.   CIO

End of Scott's Notes week of 07/30/06:

Note:<888> 07/30/06  Sunday 2:55 A.M.:   There is a vintage British movie on the television about a British diplomatic legation being held hostage in India, and their flight by train to safety.   Alas, since none of the British seem to move around in America anymore, we are not really sure about the status of our neighbors and whether or not we are under siege or not.   From my viewpoint, the town is mostly vacated by the regular year round residents, and we get a cross section of summer travelers from around the world, whom do not really spend too much time here, because their is not that much besides country club sports for the travelers to pursue.   Still there is probably a skeleton crew of hold outs.   Of course on a night time schedule, frequently the viewpoint is different than the regular daytime schedule.   However, it is well known that the wealthier citizens in this community tend to travel when they have the free time.   I have heard rumors that Canada this time of year can be an enjoyable visit, but it can be equally warm or hot up there too.  Basically on a limited income, all that I know is what I read.   I do not have that much first hand experience with other areas anymore for the last 22.5 years I have maintained year round relatively private residency in Greenwich, Connecticut USA.   However, I do frequently observe the general public, and I have seen a cross section of people from around the world visiting our small downtown shopping area.   However, I personally find more of what I need to buy on the internet at more reasonable prices, since I have the time to search around on the internet, since I have invested in the technology.   Well, I will now send out my weekly notes.   They tell me, one can even buy wine off the internet, but although I keep a small amount around for cooking, I do not drink alcohol myself, since I drive an automobile, and alcohol tends to make me tired, and I frequently try to make the most of every day.   Since we have a large number of liquor stores and pubs and cafes in the area, it is obvious that a large section of the local population do drink alcohol or wine or beer.   It is a very common habit amongst New York City residents in this area, since they tend not to drive automobiles.  CIO

Note:<888> 07/30/06  Sunday 1:55 A.M.:   It is my professional point of view that the Scottish are the true natives of England, and it is simply that England was invaded so many times from the south by their southern neighbors and their neighbors from the Continent, the true English moved further north to get away from their more Germanic neighbors.   I ate two scoops of Edy's low fat slow churn coffee ice cream.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/30/06  Sunday 12:50 A.M.:   I ate a 9.75 ounce can of CVS whole cashew nuts.   The town of Greenwich, Connecticut plants to build a new police station at their current location for the cost of about $54 million, so they will be tearing down the old one soon.   Basically it is located in an expensive real estate area, and if they were smart, the would build a higher building possibly an additional four stories tall, and they could put commercial or residential units on the upper floors of the building to recoup some of the costs of building with rental income, and they could build down several stories with a large underground secure parking garage, but all of that would be more money in the short term.    Then  again the British Embassy in Washington D.C. needs to rebuilt too.    From this photograph Photos To Go British Embassy Washington D.C. , it is a bit older and dated building left over from the bygone era of Colonial Empire and all of those things that are long since gone.   They obviously could use a more practical modern building, and I do not think they need all of the outdated rooms such as Photos of Embassy .   If the whole world revolves around Tea Time, the British obviously have a lot of catching up to do.  Of course amongst the World Powers, Washington D.C. is still regarded as a remote colonial outpost, where not much really goes on.   It is generally regarded as a place, where one has time to take off and enjoy reading a book or some other leisure past time.   Obviously there is more modern European architecture, but the British Embassy in Washington D.C. is not considered that important anymore by the British to be improved and updated.   It is probably the last embassy in Washington D.C. where they have a ball room, where they still can have a formal dress white tie ambassadors balls for those privileged few whom still can afford it, and enjoy such leisure activities.   Of course in the traditional British style, they would have to employ a lot of Footmen and other such expensive help, and I do not think 10 Downing Street  wants to run it like a palace, when one considers how Spartan 10 Downing Street is  10 Downing Street website - Home.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/29/06  Saturday 10:05 P.M.:   I woke up at 7:30 P.M..  Thus the old reliable Scottish and Dutch night watch is now awake.   I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee.   I threw out some garbage, and I picked up my mail.  I chatted with a relative.   I will now make my bed and wash the breakfast dishes.   I will then do a little bit of regular computer work.  There is a chance of thunder showers this evening, so I do not know whether I will be going downtown or not.   I have work to do here, so I do not necessarily have the time to walk downtown.   I will also shower and clean up, so I feel fresher.   It is nice being on a night schedule, when it is so hot in the daytime.   I guess the more Nordic types of people in this area prefer being on a night schedule in this area, when the weather is hot outside.   I chatted with the Casa Marina Key West Hotel Resorts & Florida Keys Beach Accommodations - Casa Marina Resort Key West with somebody working there from Brazil, and I told them they need to study National Hurricane Center / Tropical Prediction Center and make their own best guess about the weather.   Here in Greenwich, Connecticut up North, we use the warmer weather to get ready for another long cold winter, when the freezing Norwegian  Patrol still has to work.   Key West is still hogging the news from down south CNN.com - The old man and the six-toed cats: Hemingway home in dispute - Jul 29, 2006 .   Back in 1978, we had 200 stray cats at the Casa Marina when it was under reconstruction.   During the hot weather, one has to remember to clean this window air conditioning filters, and using one can get new foam filters at the hardware store, or one can wash them with hot soapy water, if they are moisture resistant.  CIO

Note:<888> 07/29/06  Saturday 8:50 A.M.:   Well I went outside, and I chatted with some neighbors.   On this picture, it looks like at the moment that the cloud formation off of Northeast Brazil is not forming into a hurricane yet NRL Monterey Satellite Photos , however the hurricane season lasts until the end of November, so anything can happen yet at this point.  It is the end of the month, and the senior citizens down in Florida do not get their social security checks until the third of the month, so most of them would not be able to go anywhere until the third of the month anyway.  I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will go to bed soon.   I guess I am on a night schedule.   It is suppose to be hot today and through out next week Greenwich, Connecticut (06830) Conditions & Forecast : Weather Underground .   I do not look forward to looking at my electricity bill when I get it.  I have the air conditioner set at 74 degrees Fahrenheit, and in the heat of the afternoon, it goes up to about 80 degrees in my apartment.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/29/06  Saturday 7:00 A.M.:   When I use to travel around the United States of America in the last 1970s, I always remembered the telephone number 1-800-228-1212 which as I recall many years ago was the central reservations number for the Hyatt Hotel chain Hyatt Home , but it no longer works for them anymore.   I use to enjoy chatting about the weather with their operators in Iowa where a lot of Danish people also live.   The Victor Borge museum is even in Iowa with his original piano.   I just broke three large eggs in large metal mixing bowl, and I added a couple of tablespoons of milk, a few dashes of parsley and Italian spices, and a couple of teaspoons of grated parmesan cheese, and a teaspoon of olive oil, and I whisked it all together with a whisk.   I put five strips of Smithfield bacon on three paper towels on a microwave proof dinner plate with two more paper towels on top with a microwave plate cover on top of that, and then I put a few teaspoons of olive oil in my omelet pan on medium electric burner heat, once the olive oil was hot, I added the egg mixture, and after about three minutes, I flipped the omelet and I cooked it two more minutes on the other side, and I added six 1.5 inch by 1.5 inch by .25 inch slices of Stop and Shop Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese on one side, and I flipped the other half over to form the finished omelet.   While doing that I microwave the bacon for 4 minutes, so it was soft and tender and not crispy, and while doing that I toasted two pieces of German dark bread, which I put a little bit of olive oil on, and I cut in half across the vertical, and I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.   Tracking on the order for Duofold 2-Layer Union Suit (For Men) - Save 61% in grey in large size in regular length for $19.95 and 20 cent shipping for $20.15 total is UPS Package Tracking .  Also 20 cent shipping ended yesterday Friday.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/29/06  Saturday 5:15 A.M.:    Of course there is Sunoco.com Routing Page and Suncor.com has not released their profits for the second quarter, but you have to deducted $3.29 for a quart of oil that they did not put in my Volvo when I was up in Kennebunkport, Maine where I got my oil changed on the Volvo.  Of course in the breakup of Standard Oil A History of the Standard Oil Company a lot of smaller oil companies were formed, and the Rockefellers and the other Standard Oil stockholders got  stuck with lots of shares of lesser known oil companies, and all www.exxon.com really is, is Standard Oil of New Jersey like www.mobil.com is simply Standard Oil of New York, and Chevron is Standard Oil of California, not to mention worldwide operations.   Basically, Getty, BP, Shell, and Gulf are not connected with Standard Oil, and more than likely Saudi Aramco Home Page has probably bought into all of the oil companies, and since they are basically a private company owned by the Saudi Arabian Royal family, they have not yet learned to count yet, but our current mathematics system in the United States is derived from the Arabic number system.   Although the local population is not friendly to the Arabs in this community except the Italian Mafia when they are bribed, I am tempted to start flying my Saudi Arabian flag just to see whom it keeps away or whom it attracts, and how it effects the local price of gasoline and energy here.   Despite our Christian values here in this community, we need to stay warm up north in the winter, and we need to be able to move around, and unless one wants to move near Niagara Falls in upstate New York near Buffalo, New York or Toronto, Canada, there is not a lot of surplus energy in this area.  Of course the TVA has a lot of surplus hydroelectric energy, which is why www.gm.com built their Saturn automobile plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee.   From what I know, one's best bets in terms of the Western Hemisphere long term energy needs, one should move up near the Tar Sands of Alberta, Canada which www.shell.com is developing, but it is very cold up there, and one has to deal with a lot of grizzly bears.   www.mcdonalds.com on West Putnam Avenue is now opened for breakfast in Greenwich, Connecticut U.S.A..  CIO

Note:<888> 07/29/06  Saturday 4:30 A.M.:   I went out after the last message.   I walked downtown, by all the Euro Trash automobile dealers in my neighborhood.   I noticed one of the hard working United States companies Welcome to McDonald's is opens at 5 A.M. for breakfast, and they stay open until midnight for late risers.   Do What Tastes Right - Wendys.com drive in is also opened until midnight.   I checked out the Greenwich Automotive Service Center Exxon gasoline station, and they were closed, so I guess they are no longer opened all night light the Shell station on West Putnam Avenue.   I guess Exxon with $5 million dollars an hour profits thinks they're rich, but Royal Dutch Shell is a bigger oil company worldwide with a cheaper cost of production, so they must be making at least $10 million an hour, and they work around the clock.   One of these days the Rockefellers will have to learn if they want to make truly big money, they need to work around the clock instead of going to cocktail parties in the evening.  Of course the Rockefellers are simply people whom produce oil and manage banking operations, and frequently other families whom own the oil producing properties are richer, since the oil is produced on their properties.   For all I know the Davidson family have all of the money, and the Rocks just distribute oil from the Davidson family property.  Maybe it is from the Davidson side of the family that the Rocks came into a little bit change, when most people were interested in owning real estate which is cheaper to maintain and hard to take away particularly if you control the military.  I next walk down Greenwich Avenue, and there was a Rolls Royce from Florida at the top of Greenwich Avenue at the Barcelona cafe.   I walked down Greenwich Avenue, and the pubs were just closing.   I stopped in at McDuffs by the railroad station, and I told one of their staff about the possible hurricane problem down south.   I also told the proprietor at the wine bar at the Greenwich Financial center.   The train station with the Welcome to Citibank branch office is still there.   I sat out in front of the Senior and Arts center, and I enjoy a couple of cigarettes in the night air.   The MIT observer was not around.   I then walked back home the same way.   I stopped by the Shell station and West Putnam Avenue, and I told the new night manager about the same thing I mentioned earlier in this note about Shell's profits www.shell.com and Investor Centre - Royal Dutch Shell plc 2nd Quarter 2006 Results which says they were $6.3 billion during the second quarter, but with Shell, their is the oil company, and I am not sure if the transport tanker company is part of the oil company or not or a separate company.  Still $6.3 billion will buy a few tulips bulbs in the Netherlands for any hard up Dutch farmers.   There was not much traffic, and my entire walk took 2 hours and 26 minutes with about a 26 minutes in breaks, so it is basically a two hour round trip walk from here downtown on West Putnam Avenue down Greenwich Avenue to the train station.   Of course in the daytime with automobile and pedestrian traffic, it would take longer.   On my way downtown, I saw two Greenwich American Red Cross vehicles bringing people back from the bars in Port Chester, New York as part of the "Call A Ride" program to prevent Drinking and Driving, but I am not sure whether they charge for their services or not.  Aparently Phillips 66, Conoco and 76 Brands is marketing Venezuelan oil from the Communists down there, so they have a large supply of oil too, so ConocoPhillips Home Page seems to have me $5.2 billion in chump change this past quarter Conoco Phillips Investor 07/26/06 , and www.chevron.com made $4.4 billion in chump change this past quarter http://media.corporate-ir.net/media_files/nys/cvx/2Q_Release.pdf and www.bp.com  made $7.26 billion this past quarter BP Global - Investors , so basically there are a lot oil people if they are driven out of the south land by hurricane activity can spend their profits in this Exxon company town where they will gladly except their wampum for what its worth.   I suppose some oil company like www.gulfoil.com does not reports its earnings because it is basically a private company owned by the Mellon family or they have not yet learn to count yet.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/29/06  Saturday 12:45 A.M.:   I reheated the rice and breaded chicken left over from last night along with steaming the remaining broccoli and baby carrots, all of which I ate with a glass of iced tea.   The weather is supposed to have cleared, so I will now get a little exercise and walk downtown and back, which for me should not be too difficult.   I will now shut down the primary computer.  I think it is too dangerous to ride my bicycle around here particularly at night.  CIO

Note:<888> 07/28/06  Friday 11:55 P.M.:   Fluor apparently has moved into the same neighborhood in Irvine Texas as www.exxon.com and www.microsoft.com in case anyone has to rebuild after a hurricane.  ExxonMobil made a shit load of money this past quarter Exxon Mobil Corp.: Corporate News on the Net brought to you by Business Wire .   USATODAY.com - Big oil tanks up: Exxon's profit nears $10B which is about 4.7 times as much as www.bp.com made at a million dollars an hour, Exxon makes about five million dollars an hour, and since Greenwich, Connecticut is suppose to be an Exxon company town, there must be a little money out there in the wood work somewhere, if one is pro Exxon.   I chatted with a friend.  CIO

Note:<888> 07/28/06  Friday 10:55 P.M.:   I chatted with the Casa Marina again, and they transferred me to someone at their nearby Reach Resort that was looking at the same satellite photos.   This is the link that they might be trying to find NRL Monterey Tropical Images , and that cloud formation off of  northeast Brazil might form in a couple of days turn into a tropical storm between Trinidad and Tobago and middle Caribbean, when it works it way into warmer waters.   It is the hot water temperature that causes hurricane activity.   Also technically hurricane satellite photographs can be altered by someone intercepting satellite photo telecommunications.   From my perspective at the moment, it looks like it could be a problem in the next couple of days.   There is a small eye in the cloud formation.  CIO

Note:<888> 07/26/06  Wednesday 11:25 P.M.:   Tracking on the order for www.sierratradingpost.com has 20 cent shipping through this Friday, so from Bargain Barn at Sierra Trading Post and Sunglasses (Bargain Barn) at Sierra Trading Post - Save 35-70% on Famous Name Brands , I ordered Version Optics '04 LCA Sunglasses - Save 73% in (40) black / copper fade w/ yellow lens for $19.95 and .20 shipping for $20.15 total is UPS Package Tracking .

Note:<888> 07/26/06  Wednesday 11:05 P.M.:   I took a dinner plate, and I put on  about 2 ounces of baby spinach leaves that I rinsed under cold water with the salad spinner, and then I peeled and sliced into 1/16th inch thick slices one third of cucumber that I spread over the spinach, and then I washed and sliced into 1/16th inch slices four medium mushrooms, and then I opened a 6 ounce can cold solid white albacore tuna fish, and I drained it underneath cold water with the lid over the tuna, and then I flaked it with a fork in a large bowl, and I spread it over the salad.   I then put a half of a diced peeled onion on it.   I sliced eight .25 inch by 1.25 inch by 1.25 inch slices of Stop and Shop Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese, and then I cut them into .25 inch by .25 inch by 1.25 inch slices, and I spread them over the salad.  I then added 11 grape tomatoes, and about 1/4th of a package of Cardini's  Caesar croutons, and 15 pitted black olives, and I sprinkled a couple of tablespoons of Kraft grated parmesan cheese on it along with balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil.   I ate the salad with a glass of iced tea.  I washed the dishes.   I will now go through my email.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/26/06  Wednesday 10:00 P.M.:   I rested most of the day.   I did some regular internet work too.   I was able to do a complete Microsoft Vista beta 2 build 5472 backup of the entire system using the regular backup feature as opposed to the Complete PC Backup feature.   I ate 2/3rds of a 5.5 ounce tube of Pringle sour cream and onion potato chips.   I chatted with Greenwich Automotive Services Exxon station a few times.   My 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo station wagon needs a new catalytic converter.   The current one has been repaired before, and it can not be fixed again.   They could get a new one from Volvo for $600 to $800, plus $120 labor installation.   However, for $300 to $400 they can get an after market one.   However, the service manager is looking for one that has a five year warranty and will pass the emissions test.   I have authorized them to spend $300 to $400 for the part and $120 labor, so since they have to get the part, it might take more than a day.   Thus unless I walk downtown tomorrow, which I probably will not, I will miss my 3 P.M. appointment tomorrow.   Also I seem to be back on a night schedule.   I also chatted with a relative a couple of times.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/26/06  Wednesday 8:40 A.M.:   I looked some internet video of European news and video.  I put three tablespoons of water in a 10 inch frying pan, and I put in the contents of a 7 ounce box of Armour frozen sausages, and I set them to medium electric heat with lid, and I cooked them for six minutes.   While this was happening, I broke three large eggs in a large mixing bowl, and I added two tablespoons of milk, and a few dashes of oregano, parsley, and a tablespoon of grated parmesan cheese and a small bit of olive oil, and I whisked it all together.   Once the sausages had cooked six minutes, I removed the lid, and I let them cook with the water evaporating.   I then added a couple of tablespoons of olive oil and the egg mixture, and I cooked it mixing it together for medium cooked scrambled eggs with sausages.   I put the pan on a dinner plate to warm it, and then I added the egg and sausage mixture.   I also toasted two halves of an English muffin which I put olive oil on.   I ate it all with a cup of coffee and orange juice with vitamins and supplements.   I watched a bit of television.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/26/06  Wednesday 4:50 A.M.:   I went to bed until 3:20 A.M..   I watched a bit of a Bob Hope movie about a haunted castle in Cuba.    I guess it is sort of like the ghost in the old Casa Marina Key West Hotel Resorts & Florida Keys Beach Accommodations - Casa Marina Resort Key West in Key West in the old days.    I guess I will do a bit of regular computer work now.   I might eat breakfast in a little while.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/26/06  Wednesday 12:20 A.M.:  I watched a bit of television.   I will now go to bed soon.   I will run Norton Speed Disk on the C: drive, while I am asleep.   I ate two scoops of Edy's slow churn low fat coffee ice cream.    I have lost a bit of weight, and I am down to 195 pounds.   I would not mind getting back down to 170 pounds or even 160 pounds, so when I am exercise walking, it is less weight to carry around.   The MIT observer manages to stay lean and thin, but I am not sure I want to go through that method of losing weight.   Back when I lived in Greenville, South Carolina for six months during the first half of 1976, I put on weight eating Win Dixie Carolina steaks, and I went up to 185 pounds.   I then spend the summer in Nantucket after the Tall Ships in New York harbor.   That fall around the third week of September 1976, I drove down to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and by the time I returned up North to Nantucket in mid April 1977, I only weighed 125 pounds, and I was darkly tanned on the lean South Florida diet, which mostly consisted of peanut butter sandwiches, oranges, and the occasional yogurt.   Thus I guess there still a lot of thin people down south, whom if they saw me today at my present weight would think I am Bubba the Beached Whale.    Of course, since in the colder months up north one is inside more, and since I spend most of my time working on the computers, I lead a more sedentary lifestyle, and thus I tend to put on a bit of weight.   Of course, many Manhattan residents walk a lot, and since there are so many people in Manhattan, there tends to be less food to go around, so the local Manhattan people out here for the summer tend to be thinner.   If one goes to the grocery store on a daily basis, also one tends to put on weight.   If one choose other activities, such as pub crawling, one might lose weight.    Well Bon Soir, for tonight.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/25/06  Tuesday 10:50 P.M.:   I went outside, and I threw out some garbage.   I chatted with a neighbor.   I then talked on the telephone with a relative and a friend.  I will now go through my email.  CIO

Note:<888> 07/25/06  Tuesday 9:05 P.M.:  I woke up at 7:30 P.M..   I had a telephone message from a friend in Sea Island, Georgia, but when I returned the telephone call the friend was not there.   The second hard drive was defragmented.   I tried a Vista beta 2 build 5472 Complete backup from the first hard drive to the second hard drive, but it failed once again.   I put an inch of water in a Revere pot with steamer tray and lid, and I put 1.5 cups of baby carrots and broccoli crowns in it, and I brought it to a boil over high electric burner heat, and then I steamed it over medium heat for the rest of the 15 minutes.   While doing this I reheated on three reheat cycles in the microwave in their Rubbermaid containers the barbeque chicken from last night and the microwaved rice.   I put the vegetables in a bowl with a little bit of olive oil on them.   I put the rice and chicken on a dinner plate with a little bit of La Choy low sodium soy sauce on the rice, and I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.   I will now go outside and throw out the garbage, and I will check the outside environment.   I called Greenwich Automotive Service Exxon station, and they said I should call back tomorrow evening.   I frequently use second sight for making forecasts, and recently I have been chatting with the MIT observer from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and the only old friend that called me up recently lives at the old Marjorie Meriwether Post estate in Palm Beach, Florida called "Mar Largo", and when I left my car at the Greenwich Automotive Service Center Exxon station today, I ended up parking it behind a Range Rover from Palm Beach, Florida.  Using second sight, and since I focus on the tropical weather on the internet this time of year http://mikelouisscott.com/weather.htm and http://geocities.com/mikelscott/weather.htm , it might seem to me that a major hurricane might hit Palm Beach, Florida this year.   Of course the Post Office Square in Palm Beach is called Scott Square, so there might has been a Scott family member down there in the old days, so the Scotts have historically had a presence there.    CIO

Note:<888> 07/25/06  Tuesday 2:10 P.M.:   After the last message, I was thinking of buying this with 20 cent shipping Duofold 2-Layer Union Suit (For Men) - Save 61% , so I gathered up my spare change, and I went to the West Putnam Avenue branch of Putnam Trust Bank of New York.   I put enough funds into the account to buy the union suit.   I chatted with some Germans thinking of buying the building, and I told them that Hachette Publishing use to be located there, and they published George Magazine, so possibly the building is owned by the Kennedys.   I also told them the Joseph P. Kennedy foundation use to be in the Pan Am building in New York City.   As I was exiting from the rear drive of the bank parking area, I hit a small bump, and my exhaust system started making a lot of noise.   I returned the short distance home, and I looked underneath the car, and the exhaust pipe to the rear muffler had separated at the joint at the rear of the middle of the car at the rear of the catalytic converter.   I went upstairs, and I got my tools, and I brought them down.   I jacked up the car, and there was too large of a space to slide it back in.   I left my tools in the rear of the station wagon.   I then called up Greenwich Automotive Services Exxon service station next to the Greenwich Library, and they told me I could drop it off there.   I drove it down, and they said they would see if they could put a sleeve on it, or do what it takes to repair the break in the exhaust system.   They will not be able to work on it until tomorrow.  They said they would call me if it is an expensive repair.   I then walked back home, and I chatted with some neighbors.   I chatted with a relative.  Since it really does not get that cold here in the winter to need a union suit, I will not be getting it, and I might need some money towards the end of the month.   I will now go to bed, and I will defrag the second hard drive, while I am asleep.   I will eat a couple of scoops of Edy's slow churn low fat coffee ice cream.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/25/06  Tuesday 10:55 A.M.:   I went out after the last message.   I checked underneath my Volvo, and it sounds like I might have a minor exhaust leak, which I will look into when I can afford it.   I went out, and I returned to pick up the faucet parts that I needed to return to the Greenwich Hardware store.   I then went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.   I chatted with the MIT observer, and I gave the MIT observer 5 cigarettes.   I stopped by the ATM machine on Greenwich Avenue at Putnam Trust Bank of New York.   I stopped by the Greenwich Hardware store, and I returned the faucet parts for $7.92 refund on my debit card.   I used the bathroom at Starbucks.   I drove down by the waterfront, and I chatted with a couple of fishermen.  I returned home.  I chatted with some neighbors.   I worked with http://mikelouisscott.com/visbeta.htm .   I will now go to bed.    I will leave the primary computer on, and I will try optimizing the second hard drive to see if the Vista beta Complete backup feature might work with a non fragmented second hard drive.  If one looks at NRL Monterey Satellite Photos , there are some cloud formations out in the south Atlantic that might form into a hurricane.  Names for hurricanes this season at the bottom of this page CNN.com - Special Reports - Hurricane Season 2006, and there is even a Michael, if they go that far.  CIO

Note:<888> 07/25/06  Tuesday 5:30 A.M.:  I ate three scoops of Edy's slow churn low fat coffee ice cream with one third of a pint of blueberries.   I will now shut down the computer, and I will go back out downtown.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/25/06  Tuesday 3:50 A.M.:   I have the updates installed on the three backup computers, and I am now installing the updates on the Toshiba laptop computer.  All six computers seem to be running just fine.  CIO

Note:<888> 07/25/06  Tuesday 2:45 A.M.:   I put away my laundry.   I tried doing a basic install of the Vista beta 2 build 5472, and then a complete system backup from the first hard drive to the second hard drive, and the backup failed, so there is definitely something wrong with the backup program in this version of the beta http://mikelouisscott.com/visbeta.htm .   I installed the Belkin Power control center that I bought for $5 at the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop before I went up to Maine underneath the other Belkin power control center on the bedroom desk, and I hooked it up to the Dell V350 computer, so now both computers at that location are controled by power control centers.   I will now label its switches, and I will then install the updates on the two backup computers in the bedroom.   When one has six computers in the apartment, it takes quite a bit of time to maintain them along with my normal work routine.  CIO

Note:<888> 07/25/06  Tuesday 12:40 A.M.:   I woke up this past afternoon at 1:30 A.M..   I checked the mail, and my order for 1GB, (1024MB) DDR PC3200 400MHz STANDARD OEM <FONT COLOR=RED>FREE SHIPPING</FONT> for the VIA KT 600 (not for ASUS) memory chip for $54 with free 3 day shipping arrived.   I went back to bed until 4 P.M..  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee.   I installed the new memory in my server computer, and it works just fine.   I took the 512 meg chip from the server, and I added it to the Northgate Syntax backup computer on the coffee table along with the existing 256 meg. chip, so it now has 768 megs memory, and it too works just fine.   I showered, and I cleaned up.   I chatted with my relative in Maine, and my relative got the pictures.   I went out, and I threw out some garbage, and I chatted with some neighbors.   I went by the Greenwich Library, and I read the National Geographic, and it has an article on super hurricanes.   See http://mikelouisscott.com/weather.htm and http://geocities.com/mikelscott/weather.htm .   I then drove down by the waterfront, and one of the most regular fishermen is back again after having a liver transplant this winter at Columbia Presbyterian Medical center in Manhattan.   The fishermen looks quite healthy.   I then walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.   I stopped by CVS.   I chatted with the MIT observer, and I gave the MIT observer 5 cigarettes.   I completed my walk.  I then went by the Food Emporium, and I bought four boneless breasts of chicken at $1.79 a pound for $4.92, broccoli crowns at $1.99 a pound for $2.09, a 16 ounce bag of baby carrots for $1.99, and two half gallons of Florida Natural Orange juice with calcium for $2.50 each for $14.50 total.  I then returned home.  I chatted with a friend.  I then opened up the package of four 1/2 pound boneless chicken breasts, and I rinsed them underneath cold water, and I dried them with a paper towel.   I then put two in a Pyrex pie dish, and two in a Rubbermaid container in the refrigerator, and I rubbed olive oil on both sides of each boneless chicken breasts.   I then seasoned both sides with garlic powder, chicken and meat seasoning, ground black pepper, Italian seasoning, oregano and Kraft Bulls Eye barbeque sauce and Texas Best Barbeque sauce one side at a time with the rib side down for cooking.   I then cooked them in the Farberware convection oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 35 minutes.   Also for the last 15 minutes the chicken was cooking I put about 1.5 cups of baby carrots and broccoli on a steamer tray in a Revere pot with an inch of water, and over 15 minutes I brought it to a boil over high electric heat, and then I reduced it to medium for the remaining of the 15 minutes.  I also made up a batch of Michael Louis Scott's Microwave Oven Rice Recipe .   Once the chicken was done, I put one of the boneless chicken breast with half the cooking juices in a Rubbermaid container with lid in the refrigerator and the other chicken breasts I put on a dinner plate with the remaining 1/2 of the cooking juices over it and half the rice on the dinner plate too.   I put the steamed baby carrots and broccoli crowns with a bit of olive oil in a separate bowl.  I put the other half of the rice in a Rubbermaid container in the refrigerator.   I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.  I have 45 minutes to go on the dry cycle on two loads of laundry.   I put clean linens on the bed.   I am thinking about reinstalling the Vista beta 2 build 5472 to see if the backup program would work, but first I will look at its newsgroups again.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/24/06  Monday 12:50 A.M.:   I worked with Vista beta 2 build 5472.  I watched a BBC television program.   I watched a History channel television program about Atlantis.   I took a dinner plate, and I put on it about 2 ounces of baby spinach leaves that I rinsed under cold water with the salad spinner, and then I peeled and sliced into 1/16th inch thick slices one third of cucumber that I spread over the spinach, and then I washed and sliced into 1/16th inch slices three medium mushrooms, and then I opened a 2.75 ounce tin of Beach Cliff sardines in water, and I drained its fluid on the salad, and I minced the sardines into half inch square chunks, and I spread it over the salad.   I sliced eight .25 inch by 1.25 inch by 1.25 inch slices of Stop and Shop Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese, and then I cut them into .25 inch by .25 inch by 1.25 inch slices, and I spread them over the salad.   I then added 10 grape tomatoes, and about 1/4th of a package of Cardini's  Caesar croutons, and 15 pitted black olives, and I sprinkled a tablespoons of Kraft grated parmesan cheese on it along with balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil.   I ate the salad with a glass of iced tea.  I washed the dishes.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/23/06  Sunday 5:30 A.M.:   I was up at 2 P.M. yesterday.  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee.   I threw out some garbage.    I picked up my mail.  I chatted with some neighbors.  I chatted with a relative.   I chatted with four friends.    About 8 P.M., I decided to see if the spare refurbished Epox EP-8RDA3+ motherboard would work.   I went through an eight hour tedious process of installing it and uninstalling it in the primary computer.   The good news is that it does work with my current hardware and software configuration.   However, there is one small problem when it is installed.   When one turns on the primary computer with it installed, it does not boot right away.   One has to press the restart button several times to get it to boot.   However, in an emergency it would be a workable spare motherboard.    I had to reactivate XP when I put back in the Gigabyte motherboard.   I also straightened up the apartment.   I ate half of a tube of Pringle sour cream and onion potato chips with some iced tea.   I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will go to bed soon after I eat a couple of scoops of Edy's low fat mocha fudge delight slow churn ice cream.    CIO

Note:<888> 07/22/06  Saturday 7:50 A.M.:   I finished going through my email.  About the free mason email scam 419 Scam – Freemason scam (David P. Owen, Paul Landy) .   I ate two thirds of a 5 ounce tube of Pringle sour cream and onion potato chips along with five .5 inch by .25 inch by 2.5 inch slices of Land-O-Lakes Monterey Jack pepper jack cheese.    It is sort of amazing with all of the so called high tech people around here, one mostly sees a lot of young people downtown drinking alcohol on weekends, so I have a feeling this area is not as high tech as it pretends to be.   Possibly once the children's parents quit paying for them to spend too much money at the local pubs, it will turn out they own computers possibly, but they really are not that high tech.   I have been around the high tech people in California, and one does not see many of them drinking alcohol, so more than likely it is the Wall Street crowd whom tend to be like gamblers, and after work they drink and party if they made money.   I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will go to bed soon.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/22/06  Saturday 6:00 A.M.:   I got email from the Masonic Lodge in Hotels Bournemouth | Hotels & Tourism Information | Official Bournemouth Tourist Board , which has me totally confused.   I think they want me to lose weight and spend more time around the beach.   However, since I have spent most of my time recently around computers, I am not sure what the purpose of their email is.   It offers a rather large grant of money, and I am not sure why they think I would be worthy of such an offer.   Obviously as a disabled individual, I would have a hard time traveling to England to receive a grant, and since England has a lot of impoverished but smart people, I do not see why they think I could help out.   Perhaps, they have me confused with some other Michael Scott.   I do not recall applying for such a grant.   Since my father lived in England, it would seem unusual that they think I would need money to return to England.   If I were suppose to be in England, I would simply go to the Queen Mary II dock in Manhattan and sail back home.   I obviously would not need a passport.   I have been ordered by my family to stay in Greenwich, Connecticut no matter what happens, since this is the town we are suppose to be from in America.   It would be fun to check out the local waterfront in England, but I am still not a very good swimmer, and I was told by the head of dermatology from Columbia University the last time I was in Key West, Florida back around 1982, that I should never go out in the sun too much again.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/22/06  Saturday 4:50 A.M.:   I woke up yesterday at about 4 P.M..   I did my house cleaning and watering the plants.    I threw out the old periodical literature and the garbage.   I chatted with neighbors, and I picked up my mail.   I chatted with two relatives.  I made up a batch of Michael Louis Scott's Pork and Beans with franks .   I used a 11 ounce can of Campbell's pork and beans two Nathan all beef hotdogs that I cut on an angle into half inch thick slices, two thirds or a diced and peeled medium onion, and also a little bit of soy sauce.  I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.  I showered, and I cleaned up.   I went out, and I went by the Food Emporium.   I bought two 5 ounce packages of Cardini Caesar croutons for $1.99 each and fresh Dole bananas at .69 a pound for $2.08 for $6.06 total.   The Cardini Caesar croutons were suppose to be a $1.50 a package, so it is the second time in two trips that I have been over charged by their computers there.   I forget what the last time was, but I made note of it in my notes earlier.   Of course part of the problem is that they put up sale tags, but they either do not remove them when the sale is over, or they do not enter the sale prices in their computer data bases.    I then went downtown, and I chatted with the MIT observer.   I gave the MIT observer a banana for a snack and a package of Seneca Ultra Light 100 cigarettes in a box, since he is so busy covering the downtown area, he does not have time to make it to the grocery store, since he does not have a car.   I chatted about technology with the MIT observer.   The MIT observer has shaved his head to be cooler, and he now looks a bit like Dr. West that I used to work with at the Osborne Street Polaroid research laboratory.    Dr. West was the head of the optics department at the Harvard Physics laboratory, and he also taught at MIT, and he also helped Dr. Land start Polaroid.   He also knew how to repair bicycles.  I chatted with the MIT observer about politics, and if it is a war between big oil and big computers, more than likely big oil will win, since in generally observing, one sees lots of transportation that uses oil or its derivatives and not many computers.   Still I prefer to work with computers, since that is what I do.   I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.    I chatted with a resident from India, and he told me the His Highness the Aga Khan's 69th Birthday is from New Delhi, India, and I mentioned to the fellow from India that people were looking for http://mikelouisscott.com/fred.htm and I mentioned that Fred knew somebody that ran a discothčque in Katmandu, and he said Fred was more than likely living up north in the "Hill" country of India, since he seemed to know people like Fred.   After I completed my walk, I returned home.   I put three tablespoons of water in a 10 inch frying pan, and I put in the contents of a 7 ounce box of Armour frozen sausages, and I set them to medium electric heat with lid, and I cooked them for six minutes.   While this was happening, I broke three large eggs in a large mixing bowl, and I added two tablespoons of milk, and a few dashes of oregano, parsley, and a tablespoon of grated parmesan cheese, and I whisked it all together. I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.   The fellow from India did not know whether Duke of Windsor Edward VIII of the United Kingdom - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia was also emperor of India and whether he might still be alive with a billion people keeping an eye on him.  I have now read that the Duke of Windsor died on May 28, 1972 and June 6, 1972, and I saw him alive at the Waldorf Towers in January 1973, so possibly he might still be alive at 112 years old.   He is just more private.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/21/06  Friday 6:45 A.M.:   Well, I am a bit tired, so I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will go to bed soon.  Actually some people whom show up here from the so called poorer sections of the world are representatives of their countries, so they actually have a little bit of pocket money, and they frequently can afford to pay their bills.    Since the Scott family have lived between the different commercial interests in this area for a long time, we manage to get by.   Whether some of our long term associates actually want to deal with us anymore with other countries producing product at a cheaper price similar to some of our inventions is opened to question.   Whatever the real case without the profit from sales of current items, we can not afford to do the research and development of any newer items that might be needed in the future with a larger world population, and there are always different cartels trying to control their established commercial interests.   Ben Franklin Benjamin Franklin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia  was English with a mother from Nantucket whom probably got tired of burning whale oil so he research electricity, and Thomas Edison Thomas Edison - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia  and Edison's Biography grew up around a lot of wheat, so he had enough bread to try to keep the lights on.    CIO

Note:<888> 07/21/06  Friday 6:10 A.M.:   I discussed with the MIT observer this evening that many of the older people in this community whom lived down south during the winter months were raise under the Jim Crow laws - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia , so when they came north every summer they would try to enforce them up north.    However, when I use to live at the beach in Florida when I came north in the summer, they usually thought I was Puerto Rican, although I do not speak Spanish.    I guess there are some nautical types whom get darkly tanned in their worldwide sailing adventures, and when they return back to their northern homelands, people mistake them for their tropical relatives.   Since I have relatives and friends whom have worked in Africa, they obviously would know other people of color, and I can not imagine that my father in living next door to the President of Nigeria when he was building the oil refinery in Kaduna, Nigeria only saw white people.    In terms of the numbers of world population, I find this story interesting BBC NEWS | Europe | Chirac warns of 'African flood' , so more than likely where ever anyone goes in the world anymore, one might see a few people of color.   However, having lived down south in my youth in Virginia, Florida, and Alabama, I have probably have seen lots more African Americans than so called liberal whites up north or even people of color up north.   Of course, there are probably over a billion white people up north too, so more than likely in another 50 years there will be 2 billion white people up north.    There are 1.2 billion Chinese, 1 billion people in India, so that would seem with 6.5 billion people on the planet, there are 1 billion Africans, 1 billion to 2 billion white people, 1.2 billion Chinese, 1 billion people from India, so by simple mathematics, there would be 2.3 to 1.3 billion people from other parts of the world whom might be various shades of colors depending on the season and their native environment, and I guess that would include all of the Spanish and Latino people in this hemisphere.    Of course in southern parts of Africa, which is a cooler climate, there are probably a few more white people than most people expect.    Basically it is my viewpoint that whatever the real numbers are, because we are a colder climate in this area, we do not actually see that many people of color.   Whatever the real numbers of tourists and visitors are in the New York area, it is sort of amusing that tourists whomever they are from other parts of the world are not as familiar with this area as the individuals whom have lived here for a very long time.    Quite frankly I live here, and I do not like the cold weather, so I would imagine people from warmer areas find the cold weather equally uncomfortable.    Of course the people of Scottish descent Scottish people - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia are such a northern people, they are not that numerous, or maybe 20 million people at the most worldwide, so I find it hard to believe the stories that the Scottish enslaved the world of 6 billion people, but the Scottish are very good engineers, so more than likely they made a few people work harder in the world to make it more modern to meet our modern needs.   In other words if the local visitors get too hostile, you can always "Beam Me Up Scotty", or whatever they use to do in that old television show.   Since Alexander Graham Bell and Andrew Carnegie were Scottish more than likely, their relatives know something about communications and engineering.    Whatever the Scott family actually did was more than likely they were busy making money between the English and the Scottish when both countries were too far to be traveled between easily in the old days.  I ate two thirds of a bag of Cardini Caesar croutons, which is what the rich people feed the poor people here.   They are basically stale bread crumbs.   However, we actually are doing modestly well here, and we are not yet down to bread and water sea rations yet.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/21/06  Friday 4:35 A.M.:   Of course to see whom is burning the surplus electricity at night, one can always look at NexSat, NRL/NPOESS Next-Generation Weather Satellite Demonstration Project , which also shows the hurricane just past by Nantucket.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/21/06  Friday 4:25 A.M.:   I checked www.nantucket.net and their live cameras were not working, so I called up the Siasconset Police Department at 1-508-228-1212 , and I got the Nantucket police department, and they told me the electricity was still working.   As I recall, when I was last out there around 1983 except for a weekend trip around 1988, I recall back around 1983 or 1982 they installed a fourth new generator which was imported from England.   It was one of those big ship's generators.    However, I read on the internet like everything else in England the ship's generator company was sold to the Germans, so if they ever need to get another generator out on Nantucket, they need to deal with the German company.   Fred Von Mierers http://mikelouisscott.com/fred.htm had German connections, so maybe he bought the ship's generator company.   I found the telephone number at Police Departments in Nantucket, Mass. - Yellow Pages - Switchboard .   Thus from what I can tell the Gray Lady is still ship shape.    However, being a cheap Scotsman that is half Dutch, before I would waste money buying something from the Germans, I would take one of those old mothballed nuclear submarines in New London, Connecticut and hook it up to the Nantucket generating system, and you could light the island up like Toronto, Canada or even Buffalo, New York when the Carys decide to waste electricity.   Obviously Niagara Falls has a lot of electricity, if one is in a business that uses lots of electricity, and since they are obviously interested in new business customers, they could probably offer low cost business opportunities for companies that use lots of electricity providing their people did mind the cold and dreary atmosphere of the Niagara area during the winter months.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/21/06  Friday 3:35 A.M.:   I went through my email.    Obviously other people would like to use my comfortable computer work environment for their own purposes.   However, you must realize by now I am basically the "Godfather" of this technology, and at a certain point the business group do not seem to know what I am talking about in terms of improving this technology in the short run.   Having been around this technology for most of my life, I think there are plenty of more senior people around whom suspect we are under surveillance by other technology competitors, and at a certain point if they do not share or tell us what they are interested in, we can not come up with solutions that might meet their needs or interests.   The MIT observer once worked in a computer store, so he would know the basic computer systems, but one has to realize with 350,000 people working for www.ibm.com many of them frequently coming into this area, it is not up to me to try to interfere with other computer people networking in this community.   I obviously have communications if anyone wants to contact me, and at this point nobody has chosen to do so, so it is my perspective there is not much anyone needs me to do in this field, so I will simply continue my normal routines, which are based on a much colder weather environment.   It is generally assumed if the United States government has an interest in my skills or any other government agencies, they can inquire, but based on the fact that many government organizations are controlled by politicians whom may or may not be familiar with the elemental aspects of computers, it is hard to tell how really interested they are in this technology, since there are so many other advanced forms of communications that many people have available to them.   It is my perspective that having lived around a great many government and military groups for most of my life in a technological capacity, it is not up to me to "Make Waves" , but to continue my low key approach to using ordinary by today's standards basic office equipment.   From what I can tell, individuals whom do not like people publishing their version of freely available information, must come from other more restricted societies where the ability to freely publish tech journals and other aspects of computer business information is not available.   Thus from what I can tell, individuals from many parts of the world where this technology is more advanced are probably showing up in this area hoping to market some of their newer technology to individuals whom might be able to afford to buy it.   In my particular case, I am using systems that are about two to five years old in terms of today's technology, and on my limited budget that is all that I need.   Since I drive a 11 year old car, I do not need any newer computer technology to keep up with the fast moving world of events, since at my pace I am simply doing what I can afford at my time in life.   As I get older I might want to invest in other diversions, and reallocate my limited budget.    From what I can tell, a lot of the senior individuals whom I have dealt with whom claimed to have backgrounds in this technology were familiar with various aspects of it, but they were not interested in using it in they way that I have chosen to use it.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/21/06  Friday 1:30 A.M.:   I had a telephone call from a friend this past morning whom is vacationing in Bristol, Maine.   He is one of those Nordic types.    I woke up at noon.    I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, coffee, and toasted bread with olive oil.    I showered, and I cleaned up.    I went out, and I went by the Arnold Bread outlet, and I bought a 12 pack of Thomas' English muffins for $2.05.    I then went to my usual 3 P.M. appointment on Thursday.   I then went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop.   I went downtown, and I chatted and walked briefly with another local walker.    I then walked upper Greenwich Avenue.   I went by the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street.   I went by the still opened lower level of the Greenwich Hardware store.   I bought some kitchen faucet repair items, such as a faucet 8-3B part #780569 aerator adapter male for .99, a faucet 8-3M part # 780579 aerator adapter male $1.99, a faucet 8-4K part #780596 aerator adapter female $4.49 for $7.92 total.   I then stopped by CVS, and I picked up my pictures from www.kodakgallery.com .   I then completed my walk, and I chatted with a local Russian ballet teacher at the senior and the arts center about cold weather.    I then returned home.   I tried using the parts to fix the aerator on my kitchen faucet, but they were not the right parts, so I will return them.   About three months ago, an energy efficiency group showed up at my apartment and installed a water conserving aerator, but it fell off right away, since they striped the threads on the faucet.    I finally was able to get the aerator to stay on my using a pliers to crimp the opening on the aerator, so it was a tighter fit.   I installed it with a bit of Teflon tape to have a waterproof fitting.   For now it seems to be working just fine.   I chatted with a relative.   I put my copy of the photographs in my photo album.   I put the second copy in a Priority Mail flat rate envelope, and I put labels on it to send to a relative.   I took a dinner plate, and I put on  about 2 ounces of baby spinach leaves that I rinsed under cold water with the salad spinner, and then I peeled and sliced into 1/16th inch thick slices one third of cucumber that I spread over the spinach, and then I washed and sliced into 1/16th inch slices four medium mushrooms, and then I opened a 6 ounce can cold solid white albacore tuna fish, and I drained it underneath cold water with the lid over the tuna, and then I flaked it with a fork in a large bowl, and I spread it over the salad.   I sliced eight .25 inch by 2.5 inch by .75 inch slices of Land-O-Lakes Monterey Pepper Jack cheese, and then I cut them into .25 inch by .25 inch by .75 inch slices, and I spread them over the salad.   I peeled and minced one half of a medium onion, and I put it on the salad.    I then added 10 grape tomatoes, and about 1/4th of a package of Cardini's  Caesar croutons, and 10 pitted black olives, and I sprinkled a couple of tablespoons of Kraft grated parmesan cheese on it along with balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil.   I ate the salad with a glass of iced tea.  I washed the dishes.  I went back downtown, and I mailed the Priority Mail flat rate envelope with the photographs to relative at the central Greenwich post office for $4.05.    I then walked lower Greenwich Avenue.   I chatted with the MIT observer.   I gave him an old yellow polo shirt of mine which I had out grown.    I also gave him about a third of a package of Seneca Ultra Light 100 cigarettes.   We chatted for a while about traveling around America.   I then returned home.    Today when I first woke up, I had to reset the server, since it seemed to have been hacked once again.    Since their is a Federal agency monitoring my server, more than likely the various hackers will be rounded up in due time.   Of course with the Feds, it always takes time.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/20/06  Thursday 3:30 A.M.:  On both my primary and server computers, they use the VIA KT 600 chipset, so I ordered 1GB, (1024MB) DDR PC3200 400MHz STANDARD OEM <FONT COLOR=RED>FREE SHIPPING</FONT> for the VIA KT 600 (not for ASUS) memory chip for $54 with free 3 day shipping.    I will put it in my server for 1 gigabyte total, and I will move the 512 meg 233 mhz PC 2100 memory from it into the Northgate Syntax backup computer on the coffee table, so it will have 768 megs of memory.   The current three 512 meg PC32000 memory chips in the primary computer will work with either the current Gigabyte or spare Epox motherboards, but the new memory would also work in it, but I prefer to keep its existing memory.    I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will go to bed soon.   I have a 3 P.M. appointment today.   I will eat some peanuts with iced tea before going to bed.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/20/06  Thursday 1:10 A.M.:   I am going through my email.  I got a promotion from Shutterfly | Prints & Prepaids for 20 free 4 inch by 6 inch prints, so I uploaded my prints from Kennebunkport, Maine to them, and I order 30 prints for $1.90 and $2.49 first class mail for $4.39 total to be shipped to my relative in Kennebunkport, Maine.    I will see if another relative want the other set of prints that I ordered from www.kodakgallery.com.   On the new tires on my Volvo, I did not have a four wheel alignment done, because I can not afford it.   Also on the highway and regular road, the car is running straight and the wheels are not out of alignment as far as I can tell.  Since my 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo station wagon is 11 years old, its the old type of Freon in the air conditioning system that has been outlawed in this country, so I can not get it legally recharged.   I was told they could recharge it up in Canada, but it would cost quite a bit of money to drive up to Canada to get it recharged, assuming the problem with the air conditioning system is the Freon.   I will look on the internet when I have time about having the warning lights turned off for the Service and Check Engine Lights.   The Check Engine light means there might be an emissions problem, but for now I can live with that.   There is no point paying for a mechanic, when as far as I can tell, it is not necessary.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/19/06  Wednesday 11:50 P.M.:   I put the tea in the refrigerator to become iced tea.   I emptied the eight ice trays into two large zip lock bags, and I put the bags of ice in the refrigerator freezer, and I refilled the ice trays and put them in the freezer.   I refilled the Glade Plug-in refill with a 60% English Leather cologne and a 40% mixture of  80% isopropyl alcohol.    When I was up in Kennebunkport, Maine, my relative gave me an old half filled 8 ounce bottle of Angostura bitters which whenever it was bought used to cost a $1.39 instead of $9 today.  Perhaps, we bought it down in Tobago back in the winter of 1970 or 1971.    However, I recall down there they use to sell it in gallon bottles, and they used a lot of it in a Planter's Rum Punch.    CIO

Note:<888> 07/19/06  Wednesday 10:55 P.M.:   I made up a batch of Michael Louis Scott's Pork and Beans with franks .   I used a 11 ounce can of Campbell's pork and beans two Nathan all beef hotdogs that I cut on an angle into half inch thick slices, two thirds or a diced and peeled medium onion, and also a little bit of soy sauce.  I ate the beans and franks with two ears of corn on the cob that I brought down from Maine which I steamed for 15 minutes on a steamer tray in a large Revere pot, and I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.   I am also making up a batch of Formula One http://mikelouisscott.com/icetea.htm .   I chatted with a relative.  The liquor that I took up to my relative's house in Kennebunkport, Maine consists of a 1.75 liter bottle of Mount Gay rum from Barbados unopened in apartment for 3 years, 1.75 liter bottle of Dewars White Label blended Scotch whisky unopened in apartment about 8 years, 1.75 liter bottle of Smirnoff Vodka unopened in apartment about 2 years old, 1 liter bottle of Gordon's Gin unopened in apartment for 5 years, 1 liter bottle of Canadian Club whisky unopened in apartment for 8 years, and 375 ml bottle of Noilly Prat original French dry Vermouth Sec unopened in apartment 8 years.   All of the bottles were unopened, and they have been sitting around unused in my apartment for a long time.   I still have some bottles of beer that are three to five years old, some bottles of wines a few years old, a third of a 1.75 liter bottle of Smirnoff Vodka, about 1/5 of a .75 liter Jack Daniels Tennessee whisky, and a bottle of Moet and Chandon champagne that is probably vinegar after about eight years.   I also have cans of soda and some mixers that are probably flat.  I also have some www.perrier.com around.  I will now empty my ice trays in a bag, and I will refill the ice trays.  The "Old Guard" in Kennebunkport, Maine occasionally enjoy having a cocktail with their friends.   The Queen Mary II is back in Manhattan this Monday July 24, 2006 QM2 - Itinerary - 2006 , so keep an eye out for any limeys.   In the bag of two ears of corn that I brought down from Maine, I found a lemon.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/19/06  Wednesday 9:10 P.M.:   I went out after the last message.   I went by the Greenwich Town Hall, and I paid my property tax of $32.03 on my 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo station wagon.   I gave it to the town tax collector with a check with the bill in an envelope, since the office had just closed at 3:30 P.M., and he was outside the office.   I then walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.   I chatted with the MIT observer.  I used the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Greenwich Avenue.   I stopped by the Greenwich Hardware store which has vacated their upper level Greenwich Avenue storefront for remodeling, but the lower rear entrance is still open.   I looked for a sink faucet water spray diffuser, but I could not find one.  I should bring in a spare part to see if they have one that fits.   I am still using the older pink rubber one.   I stopped by CVS, and I bought four 16 ounce jars of CVS dry roasted peanuts lightly salted for buy one get one free for $2.89 both jars, and three 18 ounce Ajax antibacterial dishwashing detergent for .79 each less $3 off CVS bonus bucks coupon for $5.23 total.   I completed my walk.   I use .75 in parking downtown.   I stopped by the Senior and Arts center, and I use the bathroom, and I drank a glass of cold spring water.   I then drove down by the waterfront.   I then went by the Greenwich Library, and I read P.C. World and P.C. Magazines.   I chatted with the staff about economics.    I then went by the Greenwich Automotive Exxon gasoline station next to the Greenwich Library, and I bought $20 of premium unleaded self service gasoline at $3.699 a gallon for 140.5 miles driving from the Massachusetts turnpike rest area on the way down from Maine at 26.3 miles per gallon at an average of 41 miles per hour.   I cleaner my front and rear windows.   I checked the oil, and normally it would use about a half of a quart of oil from Maine, but I was down 1.5 quarts, so I guess when they did the oil and filter change, they only put in four quarts of oil, and did not allow for the oil the new oil filter uses.   I put in the remaining .5 quart of Castrol 10W40 oil and a quart of Valvoline 10W40 oil, so it is now topped up on the oil dip stick to the full mark.   I then went to the Medallion Auto Parts and Marine store on U.S. 1 in Port Chester, New York, and I bought four quarts of Castrol 10W40 anti sludge oil for $3.29 a quart and a 12 ounce container of Pennzoil www.pennzoil.com Maximum Gumout Regane Complete Fuel System Cleaner for $7.99 plus $1.56 tax for $22.71 total.   I then returned home.  I left the oil in the rear of the Volvo station wagon.   I put the Gumout fuel system cleaner in the gasoline tank.   One is suppose to use it every 3,000 miles.   It cleans Intake Valves, Fuel Injectors, and the Combustion Chamber of the engine.   I chatted with some neighbors.    CIO

Note:<888> 07/19/06  Wednesday 3:05 P.M.:   I finished the ASR backup of the primary computer.   I went outside, and I threw out some garbage.    I chatted with a neighbor.   I picked up my mail.   I chatted with a relative.   I will now shut down the primary computer.   I will then shower, and I will clean up.   With the bad winds and rain storm here last night, there are two large trees that have fallen down in the back yard and apparently there are 6,000 homes without electricity in Greenwich, Connecticut.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/18/06  Tuesday 1:40 P.M.:   I chatted with a friend at 7 A.M. this morning.  I woke up at 10:30 A.M..   I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee.   I threw out some garbage.    I picked up my mail.  I chatted with some neighbors.   I got my General Electric www.ge.com Profile 15,500 BTU air conditioner with remote control service contract bill for the next year beginning September 12, 2006.   It is $96.95.   I will pay it around the first of August 2006.   The service contract covers in home repair, which is handy since it weighs about 90 pounds.   Currently it is 76 degrees Fahrenheit in my apartment.   I chatted with a relative and a friend.   I am downloading Microsoft Vista beta 2 build 5472.   Once it is downloaded in about an hour, I will install it after burning it to DVD.   I will now proof my pictures from my vacation trip to Kennebunkport, Maine.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/18/06  Tuesday 12:50 A.M.:   I went through my email.  I ate 2.5 scoops of Edy's slow churn mocha fudge delight with a couple of handfuls of blueberries that I washed.   Tomorrow is suppose to be another hot day Greenwich, Connecticut (06830) Conditions & Forecast : Weather Underground . Note:<888> 07/17/06  Monday 11:40 P.M.:   I put the mail crate by the mail boxes in the mail room downstairs.   I put my folding cart that I used to carry up the tires in the rear of my Volvo station wagon.   I now have room in the rear for items such as groceries, or if I put the rear seat down, I could put my bicycle in the Volvo station wagon for a ride at Tod's Point where there is suppose to be less traffic.   I will now go through my email.   Since I will have about a $92 maintenance contract bill in August 2006 for my General Electric Profile 15,500 BTU air conditioner with remote control, which currently expires September 12, 2006, I will not be buying any computer items off the internet, since I also have two week to go until the first of next month.   Well, at least I am cool.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/17/06  Monday 11:10 P.M.:   I was awake at 6:30 A.M. this morning.   I ate a bowl of oatmeal, a toasted English muffin with butter, vitamins and supplements with orange juice, and coffee.   I showered, and I cleaned up, and I finished packing, and I straightened up the bedroom that I stayed in including the bathroom and stripping the bed.   I loaded my luggage into the car.   I said good bye to my relatives, and I left the house in Kennebunkport, Maine Kennebunkport, Maine, Scott's Internet Hotlist .   I drove out Route 9 north to U.S. 1 west, and I got on the Maine Turnpike in Wells, Maine.  I paid a $1.75 toll on the Maine turnpike and a $1 toll on the New Hampshire turnpike.   I took a pit stop at the Massachusetts welcome area.   I then got on I-495 west.   I was slowed down for about a half hour at Lowell, Massachusetts.    I stopped at the rest area there.   I got off I-495 west on to I-295 west to the Massachusetts turnpike.   I stopped at the Charlton, Massachusetts Exxon rest area.   I ate a blueberry muffin.   I put $23.50 of Exxon premium unleaded self service gasoline in the car at $3.289 a gallon 182.6 miles driving, since I filled up in Biddeford, Maine when I got the new tires, at 24.7 miles per gallon at an average of 27 miles per hour.   I then got off the Massachusetts turnpike, and I took I-84 west.  I stopped at the Connecticut welcome center for a break.   At Hartford, Connecticut, I took I-91 South to I-15 west or the Wilbur Cross Parkway which turns into the Merritt parkway.   Going back down from Maine on I-84 west there are no rest areas from the Connecticut welcome center to Armonk, New York on I-684, so if the traffic is not too bad, I take the Merritt parkway, although the mileage is about the same each way.  I stopped at the North Haven and the New Canaan rest areas.   I got off in Greenwich at North Street, and I drove downtown, and I stopped by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street at 2:30 P.M..   I drank some of their cold spring water from their water cooler in the basement.  I then went by the Valley Road Post Office, and I picked up my mail.  I then returned home, and I brought up my luggage, and I turned on the air conditioner since the apartment was about 100 degrees Fahrenheit.   It is back down to 82 degrees Fahrenheit, but it will take a while this evening to cool it back down to 74 degrees Fahrenheit.   I left a message with a relative that I was home.  I ate a blueberry muffin with a chilled diet Sprite soda.   I went out to my 4 P.M. appointment.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought four 6 ounce dry black pearl medium pitted olives for $1.25 a can, 3 Cardini 5 ounce bags of Caesar croutons for $1.50 each, bananas at .79 a pound for $1.81, two pints of fresh blueberries for .99 each pint, two cucumbers for $1.34 both, a 10 ounce box of mushrooms for $2.49, two pints of grape tomatoes for $2 each, two 5 ounce bags of baby spinach leaves for $2.50 each for $26.12 total.   I then returned home.   Since I was a bit dehydrated, I drank a few glasses of cold filtered water.   I brought up my groceries, and I put them away.  I unpacked.   I brought down the three folding chairs that I keep in the rear of my Volvo station, and I brought up the two mostly used snow tires from the rear compartment area of the Volvo station wagon, and I stored them with the other two old tires on rims in the left living room closet.  I chatted with a neighbor.  I watered my plants.   I cleaned the General Electric air conditioner filter.   I chatted with two relatives.  I sorted through my mail.  I finally received my www.aarp.org membership cards for this year until May 2007 and my AARP magazine.   I took a dinner plate, and I put about 2 ounces of baby spinach leaves on it, and then I peeled and sliced into 1/16th inch thick slices one third of cucumber that I spread over the spinach, and then I washed and sliced into 1/16th inch slices four medium mushrooms, and then I opened a 6 ounce can cold solid white albacore tuna fish, and I drained it underneath cold water with the lid over the tuna, and then I flaked it with a fork in a large bowl, and I spread it over the salad.   I then added 10 grape tomatoes, and about 1/4th of a package of Cardini's  Caesar croutons, and 15 pitted black olives, and I sprinkled a couple of tablespoons of Kraft grated parmesan cheese on it along with balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil.   I ate the salad with a glass of iced tea.  I washed the dishes.   I started up the server and the primary computer.   I installed the Symantec and Windows updates.   When I started up the primary computer, I got a warning the CPU cooler was not working, so I shut it down, and I opened up the case, and I flicked the CPU cooler fan a few times to get its bearings aligned, and then it started up working just fine.  Frequently items with bearings can have their bearings settle, when they are not used for a while.   The computers are running just fine.   CIO

Note:<888> Sunday, July 16, 2006, 8:10 P.M.:   I chatted with my relatives.   We went out to dinner at the lower Kennebunk village at Grissinis’ Italian Bistro.   I had the wood oven baked filet of salmon with mashed potatoes with chanterelle mushrooms and balsamic sauce along with a glass of iced tea and Italian bread with olive oil and bread sticks.   We drove by the Kennebunkport waterfront.   I will now end my notes for my summer vacation in Kennebunkport, Maine.   I will start packing, and then I will watch some television with some relatives.   I will leave tomorrow morning after breakfast.   CIO

Note:<888> Sunday, July 16, 2006, 3:50 P.M.:   I planted two pink rose flower plants in the large flower pot on the railroad ties to the right of the garage entrance.   I also planted another pink flower plant in the raised back garden area.   I watered all the new plants that have been planted recently.   CIO

Note:<888> Sunday, July 16, 2006, 2:45 P.M.:   I went to bed after the last message.   I woke up at 10 A.M..   I ate breakfast of oatmeal, toasted English muffin, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee.   My relatives went out shopping.   I swept the front porch.   I showered, and I cleaned up.   I went to the beach in front of the Colony Hotel, and I sat out on the beach sunbathing for an hour from noon to 1 P.M..   I then drove around the waterfront, and I parked downtown in Kennebunkport, and I walked around downtown Kennebunkport for a while.   I returned to my relative’s house.   I ate lunch of a reheated baked potato with butter and reheated baked haddock.   I will be driving back down to Greenwich, Connecticut tomorrow Monday July 17, 2006.   I could have stayed another day, but there is a chance of thunder showers here and in Greenwich on Tuesday.   We are going out to dinner at 6 P.M. this evening.   My relatives are napping.  I will water the plants at the front of the house that I put in a couple of days ago.  CIO

Note:<888> Saturday, July 15, 2006, 10:45 P.M.:   I watched the end of the DVD movie with my relatives.   This is the end of my notes for the day.  CIO

Note:<888> Saturday, July 15, 2006, 9:05 P.M.:  I put a towel on the ground in front of my Volvo, and the oil filter is on the lower passenger side front of the car, and I looked at it.  The new oil filter is a NAPA Gold Oil Filter #1311 NAPA Filters : Oil Filters and The Official NAPAonline.com E-commerce Site | Shop NAPAonline sells online for $6.69 plus shipping and handling if you happen to have a 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo station wagon.   My relatives are watching the DVD of the new version of “Pride and Prejudice”, but they had to figure out how to put the English subtitles on since the English in the movie is too quick.   CIO

Note:<888> Saturday, July 15, 2006, 8:20 P.M.:   I went out at 3:15 P.M., and I dropped my 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo off at the Lower Kennebunk Village Sunoco station at 3:30 P.M. for its 4:30 appointment for oil and oil filter change.   I walked the downtown Kennebunkport area, and I bought a 12 ounce cup of coffee for $1.65 and .35 tip for $2 total from the Coffee Shop in Dock Square, and I drank it by the wharf breakwater, where I could also have a cigarette.   I walked around the Kennebunkport downtown area and the post office area.  I then went by the Sunoco station at 4 P.M., and the car was still waiting to be serviced.   I then toured the Federal Jack’s wharf area.   I walked by the Sunoco station again, and they put it on the lift at the garage at 4:30 P.M..   I then walked around the Lower Village shop and mall area, and I returned back by the Sunoco station at 4:45 P.M., and the car was still being serviced.    I then walked back down to the Kennebunkport downtown area, and I stopped by the Colonial Pharmacy.   I returned to the Sunoco station at 5 P.M., and the car was ready.   I paid them $29.95 for the oil and filter change.   One can not see the oil filter from underneath the hood, but only from beneath the car, so I am not sure what type of filter they put in.   The oil change stick is a Castrol oil sticker, so I assume they put in Castrol oil.   I then drove the length of the Kennebunk beach, and I parked briefly, and then I returned to my relatives.   I put away my clean laundry.   We watched the NBC evening news.   We had dinner of baked haddock, baked potato with butter, and tossed green salad, and I ate it with a glass of cold filtered water.   CIO

Note:<888> Saturday, July 15, 2006, 2:50 P.M.:   Before going to bed last night I ate two scoops of Edy’s slow churn vanilla bean ice cream and about 1/3 of a box of Cheese Its crackers with some cold filtered water.   I woke up at 10 A.M. this morning.   I ate breakfast of oatmeal, a toasted English muffin with butter, and orange juice with vitamins and supplements.   I then put Miracle Gro diluted in water and Miracle Gro Miracid diluted in water around different plants around the house.   I swept out the garage.   I wipe off the deck furniture with soapy water.   I showered, and I cleaned up.   I put Hellmann’s mayonnaise on two slices of bread with two 1/32nds thick slices of rare roast beef, one 1/32nds inch thick slice of ham, and two 1/32nds inch thick slices of Swiss cheese, and I cut the sandwich in half.   I ate it with a bowl of Lays sour cream and onion potato chips and a glass of cold filtered water.   I am doing a load of laundry, and I am just about to start the dry cycle.   I will leave here about 3:45 P.M. earlier for my 4:30 P.M. oil and oil filter change appointment at the Sunoco service station downtown.   CIO

Note:<888> Friday, July 14, 2006, 8:50 P.M.:     I read the New York Times.   I went out at 5 P.M., and I drove along the Kennebunk beach front to the west, and then I stood out for a while at Gooch’s beach, and I took some pictures.   I returned home, and I watched the NBC evening news.   I chatted with my relatives.  We had dinner of bay scallops alfredo with linguine and a tossed salad.   I ate my dinner with a glass of filtered cold water.   We sat out for a while on the deck.   I will now watch some television.   CIO

Note:<888> Friday, July 14, 2006, 4:00 P.M.:   I went to bed at 10 P.M..   I was up at 10 A.M. this morning.   One relative departed this morning.   I ate breakfast of oatmeal, toasted English muffin with butter, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee.   I chatted with the retired person whom cut the grass.   I put in a half of cup of bone meal around two plants, and I watered them along with the plants I planted yesterday.   I put some patio blocks underneath the two plants on the deck.  I used the leaf blower to clean off the driveway.   I chatted with relatives.   I showered, and I cleaned up.   A relative and I went by the Kennebunkport post office, and then we went over to Gooche’s beach in Kennebunk, and we walked the east end of the beach.   I took some pictures.   We stopped by  the shops at the Breakwater Spa on the way back.   I put Hellmann’s mayonnaise on two slices of bread along with three 1/32nds inch thick slices of roast beef, and one 1/32nds inch thick slice of turkey, and three 1/32nds inch thick slices of Swiss cheese.  I cut the sandwich in half.   I ate the sandwich with a bowl of Lay’s sour cream and onion potato chips and a glass of cold filtered water.   On my 1995 Volvo 850 turbo station wagon not only does the service light come on, but it is up to date on service besides the oil change, but the “check engine” light comes on, and that supposedly has to do with emissions, and I will have that checked out when I get back to Greenwich, Connecticut.   Today the “ABS” light came on, which it has done before.  When that happens the car will not go out of park except with the park release switch and the lights and blinkers do not work.   However, there is a quick fix for the “ABS” light.   All one has to do after the car starts is turn back the ignition key about Ľ of an inch counter clockwise, and the “ABS” light goes off, and the lights and the blinkers work.   Basically the car is good running shape, and there is nothing wrong with it.  CIO

Note:<888> Thursday, July 13, 2006, 9:20 P.M.:   Two of my relatives went out to dinner at the Lobster shed at Cape Porpoise.   Another relative is recuperating from a cold.   I watched television and the NBC evening news.   I put Hellmann’s mayonnaise on two slices of bread and three 1/32nds inch thick slices of rare roast beef and three 1/32nds inch thick slices of Swiss cheese on the sandwich.   I ate the sandwich with a glass of cold filtered water and a bowl of sour cream and onion potato chips.   Earlier I drank a Shaw’s ginger ale flavored with raspberry.   I also sat out on the deck.   When my relatives returned from dinner, I went out to the breakwater beach in front of the Colony Hotel, and I took some pictures in front of the waterfront area.   Ansel Adams when I worked with him back at the Polaroid research photograph laboratory back in the old days in Cambridge, Massachusetts use to say the last two hours in the evening before sunset and the first two hours in the morning after sunrise are the best times to take pictures because the light is the best.   I returned back to my relative’s house.   I put the Kayak and the foot pump that my relative sent here last summer in the basement at the far end to the left of the desk.   I will now watch some television.   This is the end of my notes for the day.   CIO

Note:<888> Thursday, July 13, 2006, 4:20 P.M.:   I went to bed at 10 P.M. last night.   I woke up at 10 A.M..   I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, English muffin with butter, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee.   I planted a honey suckle vine on the south side of the front trellis.   I planted a yellow flowering plant underneath the kitchen window.   I planted a pink flower bush with four small bunches of white flowers around them in the front entry way urn.   I put two basil and one parsley plant in a clay pot on the deck along with three other small bunches of red flowers in a long clay pot.   I used a tooth washer, and I put it in between the nut and the windshield washer blade on the drive’s side of my Volvo, so that windshield blades is tighter, and it should not slip anymore.   I raised the U.S.A. flag on the front flag pole.   I showered, and I cleaned up.   I put Hellmann’s mayonnaise on two sides of a piece of pita bread with four 1/32nds slices turkey and four 1/32nds slices of Swiss cheese, and I ate it all with a glass of iced water.   I went out, and I went by the Sunoco service station on Route 9 in downtown Kennebunk or Kennebunkport, and I have an appointment at 4:30 P.M. on this Saturday to have my oil filter and my oil changed.   I drove along the Kennebunk beach, and at high tide all of the surfers were out.   I went by H&B Provisions, and I bought a small container of Quaker old fashioned quarter oats for $3.05.   I parked in the downtown area of Kennebunkport, and I took some pictures around town.   I returned to my relative’s house.   CIO

Note:<888> Wednesday, July 12, 2006, 3:50 P.M.:   I watched television until about midnight this past evening.   I woke up at 9 A.M..   I ate breakfast of oatmeal, English muffin with butter, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and coffee.   I showered, and I cleaned up.   Two of my relatives went to the beach.   I went out with another relative.   We went by the Kennebunkport, Maine post office.  We then drove up Route 1 to Arundel, Maine, and we went to Tire Warehouse www.tirewarehouse.net , and my relative for a late birthday gift bought me a set of four Pirelli www.pirelli.com  P6 Four Season  (BW0087H) H rating tires for $93.70 each, $12 old tire disposal fee, and $12.95 high performance mounting and balancing for each tire for $438.60 and $18.74 tax for $457.34 total.   It took about one and a half hours to get the tires bought and installed.   I had them mounted on the four sport rims, and the two spare snow tires are in the back mounted on the other rims.   We then went to the Biddeford Exxon station on Route 1, and my relative bought me $19 of middle grade Exxon gasoline at $2.999 a gallon for 168.8 miles driving since the Massachusetts turnpike fill up at 27.5 miles per gallon average driving 35 miles per hour.  We then went to Cingular cell phone store, and we got a cell phone battery for a relative.   I then stopped by a 25 cent spray car wash, and I spray cleaned my wheels and tires for $2.50.   We then went by the Home Depot store in Biddeford, and we got some plants and potting soil.  We then went by Wal-Mart in Biddeford, and we got some other household items.   We then returned home.   I ate a sandwich on pita bread with Hellmann’s mayonnaise, four 1/32nds inch sliced turkey and two 1/32nds inch sliced Swiss cheese, and I drank some Lipton iced tea with it.   On the tires we declined the Value Protection pack out of the local store, but there is 24 month free 24 hour emergency roadside tire assistance program.   The tires are suppose to be good for 50 to 60 thousand miles. Note:<888> Tuesday, July 11, 2006, 8:40 P.M.:   I chatted with my relatives.   We had cheese and crackers and watched the NBC evening news.   We had dinner of baked filet of salmon, baked halibut, rice pilaf, and sautéed zucchini, onions, and spinach.   I also had a glass of quinine water with ice.   We also had cookies and coffee for desert.   I will now shut down the computer for the day.   CIO

Note:<888> Tuesday, July 11, 2006, 4:10 P.M.:   I did not fall asleep until about 1:30 A.M. this morning.   I went outside on the deck a few times for a cigarette.   About 1:07 A.M. silhouetted in front of the full moon to the south, I saw an aviation vehicle flying 50 to 100 thousand feet up going 3 to 5 times faster than a normal jet.   It had a jet contrail behind it, so it was not the space shuttle, which I do not think would have a contrail.   Possibly it was a Black Bird or some other stealth type aviation vehicle.   I turned off the dehumidifier, since it was keeping me awake.   I woke up at 7 A.M., and I turned it back on, since it was damp in the basement room.   I finally woke up at 1 P.M..   My relatives had gone out shopping.   I had breakfast of oatmeal with half of a sliced banana, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and toast with butter.   I showered, and I cleaned up.  My relatives returned.   The front porch screen door handle came off.   I tried fixing it.   I found a small L wrench in the top right of the small parts cabinet in the tool closet that was the right size for tightening the door handle L wrench screws.   The quarter inch square rod on the screen door handle was too short.   I went to Port Hardware in Kennebunk, and I got a foot long piece of quarter inch square stock, and they cut me off a piece with a hack saw once inch longer than the original door piece.   I paid $1.75 for the piece of 1 foot long Ľ inch square stock including the cut.   I then went to H. & B. provisions, and I got a 12 ounce cup of hazelnut coffee with cream and sucra for $1.25.   I then returned to my relative’s house, and I reattached the screen door handle with the longer piece of Ľ inch square stock, and it works just fine.  I put the small L wrench that I used for tightening the screen door handle screws back in the upper right small cabinet drawer in the took area cabinet.  I left the original and the spare piece of Ľ inch square stock on the front shelf area of the tool cabinet.   I am online, but it is going a bit slowly, so I do not know whether I will be able to post the note or not.  It is overcast with intermittent rain showers.   There supposedly a collapse in the “Big Dig” down in Boston.   CIO

Note:<888> Monday, July 10, 2006, 9:50 P.M.:   I was awake at 9:30 A.M. this morning.   My relatives went out grocery shopping.   I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, toast and coffee.   I read the New York Times.   I called the Swedish Imports 1-207-985-2117 and 1-800-439-2110 in Kennebunk, but they are not able to change my oil and oil filter this week, so I will now have it done, until I get back.   I have put three thousand miles on it, since I had it changed by them in last June a year ago, and it only needs to be changed every 4,000 miles, so I have enough miles to go.   I showered, and I cleaned up.  I did a load of laundry.  My relatives returned, and I helped them unload the groceries.   I ate lunch of reheated baked haddock with green squash.   My relative gave me $30 for the two green outdoor tables that I brought up.   I went out to the Kennebunk Ace hardware store in Kennebunk, Maine on Route 1.   My relative had me buy a Toastmaster #2249 electric can opener for $10.   I also got two 4 packs of 60 watt and two 4 packs of 100 watt ACE light bulbs for $1 a four pack.  I also bought a 75 watt indoor ACE flood light for $4.59.   I then returned to downtown Kennebunkport, and I took some pictures of the downtown area.   I then returned to my relatives.   The IBM Netvista would not go online, and I finally installed the drivers for the Linksys Wireless – G Portable USB adapter which have a wireless TCP/IP stack, and my generic USB wireless device now works online just fine.   However, it is USB 2.0, and I only have it on a USB 1.0 port, so it is a slightly slower speed.  However, certain internet sites are slower up in Maine, but the system is working just fine.   Another relative has arrived.   We all chatted on the deck, and we had chips and mango salsa.   For dinner, we are going to have marinated steak tips cooked outside on the grill with steamed broccoli and baked potatoes.   There seems to be an internet log jam in the Kennebunkport, Maine area which does not speed up until after 9 P.M. at night.   Web sites to the north such as http://news.bbc.co.uk come up, where web sites to the south and west of us do not until after 9 P.M..  We looked at some pictures on the television of a relative’s trip to San Francisco, California.   On my first trip to San Francisco, California after driving across country from Nantucket, I arrived with a friend on Columbus Day in 1978, and the whole city was closed off for a street festival, and the Queen of Spain was the guest of honor.   The American Railroad Convention was also going on at the Hyatt Embarcadero.  Also on that first trip across country, when I was driving across Interstate 10 West through Texas, I pulled off at a gasoline station in Midland, Texas, and I had the filling station attendant fill up my 1971 yellow Subaru station wagon with gasoline, and he also checked the oil.   However, when he closed the hood, he did not close it all the way, and when I got back on Interstate 10 West, the hood flew open, and cracked the windshield.   Thus I saw my first trip to California through a broken wind shield.   I remember touring about 40 salvage yards looking for a replacement windshield to no avail, but I found out that North American Rockwell started out as a salvage yard.   When I got back to the east coast in the same car after a weather beaten trip across country, I found a replacement windshield in the salvage yard at Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and I also traded in my Radio Shack waterproof floating radio for an air conditioner system.   I found out that  Howard Hughes had designed the original Subaru based on aeronautical principles, and he had them originally tested in Fort Lauderdale at a young people’s racing track.  That is my web log for the day.   CIO

Note:<888> Sunday, July 9, 2006, 10:10 P.M.:   We watched the movie last night Casanova.   I went bed at 11 P.M., and I woke up at 9 A.M..  Two relatives left to return home.   My other relatives went off to church.   I ate breakfast of oatmeal with sliced bananas, strawberries, and peaches, orange juice, toast, coffee, and vitamins and supplements.   I put in three new 60 watt light bulbs in the garage ceiling and two new 60 watt light bulbs on the front outdoor porch ceiling, and I cleaned those fixtures.   I also put in a used 75 watt flood light in the kitchen ceiling fixture.   I showered, and I cleaned up.  One of my relatives, and I went to the Kennebunk beach, and we walked the entire length of the beach both ways.  We then toured a short bit downtown, and I took some pictures.   We then returned back to my relative’s house, and I ate a crab meat roll with potato chips and iced tea.   I worked on the IBM Netvista computer, and about 2:30 P.M., I had problems getting to go online.  I finally got it online, and I installed some updates.   About 4 P.M., it would not go online again, so I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the wireless drivers.   I did not get to go online, so I left with two relatives.   We went for a ride along the Kennebunkport shore line, Goose Rocks beach, and Biddeford Pool, and then we returned home.    I had a telephone call from a relative, and the relative needed to some email forwarded from the IBM Netvista computer.   I worked on getting it to go online.   We ate dinner of baked haddock, baked potato, and fried zucchini and onion, and I had some quinine water.   I worked on the computer some more.   I tweaked the wireless setting, and I finally got it to go online.   I forwarded the email to a relative.   I will web browse a bit before going to bed.   CIO

Note:<888> Saturday, July 8, 2006, 8:35 P.M.:   I had tonic water and cheese and crackers on the deck with my family.   We had dinner of baked haddock, tossed green salad, and rice pilaf, and I also had tonic water and ice.   After we cleaned up the kitchen, my relatives took one of the relatives departing to the Wells Amtrak train station.   I went with another relative to the Cape Purpose along the Kennebunkport, Maine waterfront.   We then returned along the inland road to downtown Kennebunkport.   We stopped by the post office.   The post office is looking for rural carriers for $13.05 an hour.  We went by the Colony Pharmacy, and my relative got some post card, and my relative went to the coffee shop for coffee.  My relative then use the cell phone from the River Club parking lot.   We then returned back to my relative’s house.   My other relatives have returned.   We will now watch a DVD movie.   According to http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ , I am getting 532 kbps download and 143 kbps upload.  I will now shut down for the night.  CIO

Note:<888> Saturday, July 8, 2006, 4:30 P.M.:   I left Greenwich, Connecticut yesterday at 10:30 A.M..   I drove up King Street to I-684 East to I-84 East, and I took a break at the Danbury, Connecticut rest area.   I then drove I-84 East, and I took another break at the Southington, Connecticut rest area.   I ate some cashew nuts.   I then drove I-84 East to the rest area around Vernon.   I then took I-84 East to the Massachusetts turnpike,  and I took a break at the turnpike rest area.    I put in $15.50 of Exxon self service premium gasoline at $3.269 a gallon for $140.4 miles driving from Greenwich at 28.7 miles per gallon at an average of 46 miles per hour.     I ate some cashew nuts.   I then took I-290 north to I-495 east, and I took a break at the Lowell rest area.   I then got on I-95 north, and I took a break at the New Hampshire rest area.  I then got on the New Hampshire turnpike to the Maine turnpike, and I got off at Wells, Maine.  I paid .50 for the Massachusetts turnpike, $1 for the New Hampshire turnpike, and $1.75 for the Maine turnpike.   I then took a break at the Wells, Maine Amtrak train station.   I then drove into my relatives’ house in Kennebunkport, Maine at 5:30 P.M., or a seven hour trip with not too much traffic except around I-495.   I put the two green wrought iron tables on the porch.  I put the liquor that I brought up from my apartment in the bar.  I carried in my luggage.  I cleaned up.   We had a cocktail party on the porch.  I drank tonic water.  I had sliced pork tenderloin, salad, and baked potato for dinner.   I went out with two relatives, and we went to an outdoor bar on the waterfront.  I think it was the Arundel Wharf bar.   My relatives had a Guinness beer.   We returned back to my relatives’ house at 9:30 P.M..   I went to bed until 4 A.M..  I got up, and I went outside for a cigarette.  I drank some orange juice and vitamins and supplements.  I went back to bed until 2 P.M..  I ate breakfast of blueberry pancakes with maple syrup, blueberry muffin, cantaloupe, half of a banana, and half of a peach, and a cup of coffee.  I did some minor chores.   I showered, and I cleaned up.  CIO

Note:<888> 07/06/06  Thursday 11:15 P.M.:   There was a tragedy in the building after the last message.   I finished packing.   I chatted with two relatives.   I chatted with some neighbors.   I finished preparing to leave tomorrow morning about 10 A.M..   I will now shut down the computer, and I will go to bed soon.   I will not be posting any other notes until possibly I am up in Maine tomorrow afternoon or evening.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/06/06  Thursday 8:45 P.M.:  I mostly finished packing.   I will not move my luggage into the car until tomorrow morning.  I put about 2 ounces of the baby spinach leaves on a dinner plate four 4 inch by 1 inch by .25 inch slices of Danish Plumrose ham sliced into .25 inch wide strips, five 1.25 inch by 1.25 inch by .25 inch slices of Stop and Shop Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese sliced into .25 inch wide strips, 15 pitted California black olives, and about 1/4th of a pint of grape tomatoes and a couple tablespoons of Kraft grated parmesan cheese and  seasoned it with balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil.   I microwaved and ate a Maria Callendar 21 ounce lasagna, which I ate with a glass of iced tea.   I will try to continue to post my notes at http://geocities.com/mikelscott/note04.htm .   I will now shut down the server until I return from vacation.  CIO

Note:<888> 07/06/06  Thursday 5:45 P.M.:   I woke up at 11 A.M., and I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted  English muffin with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with splenda and milk.   I washed the breakfast dishes, and I made my bed.   I showered, and I cleaned up.   I went out, and I chatted with a neighbor.   I went by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street.   I then went downtown, and I chatted with the MIT observer.  The MIT observer if from Florida, but his family are originally from Texas and Philadelphia, so like other families he has roots in America, and he has bit of the MacDonald family look from western Canada land grant also.   I gave the MIT observer a 16 ounce jar of Planter's Dry Roasted peanuts and a pack of Seneca Ultra Lights 100s in a box.   I then drove down by the waterfront.   I then went by the Greenwich Hospital thrift shop, and I bought a Belkin control panel without surge protection for $5.   At a later date, I will hook it up the bedroom desk computers to control the Dell V350 backup computer.    I then by the Greenwich Automotive Services Exxon service station next to the Greenwich Library, and I bought $13 of Exxon premium unleaded self service gasoline at $3.639 a gallon for 55.8 miles driving during the past week at 16.1 miles per gallon at an average of 13 miles per hour.   I then returned home, and I chatted with a neighbor.   I put the Belkin control panel underneath the side board in the bedroom.    I took down the two green iron and glass outdoor tables, and I put them upside down on the back seat of my car.   I chatted briefly with a neighbor, and I leant the neighbor a package of Seneca Ultra Lights 100s in a box.   I have to watch my cigarette lending, or I will not have any at the end of the month, or until I get my order after the first of the month.   I will now start packing for my trip to Kennebunkport, Maine Kennebunkport, Maine, Scott's Internet Hotlist to visit with relative tomorrow.   I ate the last of the Cardini Caesar croutons.  CIO

Note:<888> 07/06/06  Thursday 4:00 A.M.:   Sign President Bush's 60th birthday card GOP.com | Republican National Committee :: Happy Birthday, President Bush .   I donated $5 on the web link, and I sent a Happy Birthday message.   I went through my email.   I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will go to bed soon.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/06/06  Thursday 2:55 A.M.:   I went out after the last note.   I chatted with a neighbor.    I drove East on Interstate 95 from exit 2 to exit 5, and I returned back on East Putnam Avenue, and the car seems to be running just fine.   I went downtown, and I chatted with the www.mit.edu observer before and after my walk.   The www.mit.edu observer is related to the Lindsay family such as in John Lindsay - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia , but since he is from Florida, he probably never heard of John Lindsay.    I went to John Lindsay's going away part back in 1973, just before the New York economy crumbled.    I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out at various locations.   I found a small red box of California sun maid raisins by the Greenwich Post Office that I left out on the bench by the senior center.   I gave the MIT observer a package of Seneca Ultra Lights 100s in the box.   I drove down by the waterfront.   There were a few fishermen there.   I returned home.   I put about a cup of the last remaining baby carrots and broccoli crowns in a plastic microwave proof pot with lid and an inch of water, and I heated it and the Rubbermaid container with the last cooked barbeque boneless breast of chicken on four vegetable cycles of the General Electric microwave oven.   I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.   I will now go through my email.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/05/06  Wednesday 8:45 P.M.:   I put the laundry away.   I chatted with a relative.   I ate some of the gelatin and fruit mixture with some iced tea.   I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will shower, and I will clean up.   I will then go out, and I will take a drive from exit 2 to exit 5 on Interstate 95 to make sure the car runs all right.   I will then return back by East Putnam Avenue.   Thus I will do a short test road trip.   I guess after that I will take my regular walk on Greenwich Avenue in my usual Maytag Repairman mode.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/05/06  Wednesday 7:05 P.M.:   I woke up at 4 P.M., and I chatted with a friend.    I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted  English muffin with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with splenda and milk.   I went outside, and I threw out some garbage, and I picked up my mail.   I chatted with a neighbor.   I have 40 minutes to go on the dry cycle of two loads of laundry.    I put clean linens on the bed.   I washed the breakfast dishes.   This morning before going to bed, I ate a 9.75 ounce can of CVS whole lightly salted cashew nuts.   I guess I had a case of the munchies.   I need to get back on a daytime schedule to leave on Friday morning.   Maybe, I will try going back to bed tonight at midnight, and getting up at 6 A.M. tomorrow.  I have a number of things to do including packing before I leave.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/05/06  Wednesday 3:45 A.M.:   I went out after the last message.   I went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.   The train station was still opened at 10:30 P.M..   I chatted with a patron of the Thataway cafe where they have Karaoke on Sunday nights.   I chatted with the MIT www.mit.edu observer for a while.  I gave the MIT observer a pack of Seneca Ultra Lights 100s in a box.   I chatted a bit about this area and Florida where the MIT observer is from.   I have earlier told the MIT observer that most of the town of Greenwich, Connecticut is owned by legal residents of the state of Florida whom only spend the summer here.    I also chatted with the other plant watering person, since the regular plant watering person was busy with other duties.   I sat out at a few locations.   I drove down by the waterfront.   For those unfamiliar with this area, the White Diner or the Glory Days Diner or whatever they call it is still opened 24 hours  a day seven days week 364 days a year across from the YMCA on East Putnam Avenue, and possibly on Christmas too, but I am not sure about Christmas.   I no longer go there at night, since it is more expensive, and I only drink one cup of coffee now when I wake up.   The younger generation also does not like me eves dropping on what they are chatting about.   I returned home.   I put an inch of water in a large Revere pot with steamer tray, and I and I steamed for 15 minutes starting on high heat electric burner heat and lowering to medium once it began to steam two ears of sweet corn and 1.5 cups of baby carrots and broccoli crowns, and I put the corn on the cob on a dinner plate with one of the barbeque boneless breasts of chicken that I heated in a Rubbermaid container on two reheat cycles of the General Electric microwave oven.    I also put the other steamed vegetables in a bowl with a little bit of olive on them as well as on the sweet corn on the cob.    I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.   I will now go to bed.   I have to be up at about 7 A.M. on this Friday when I leave for Maine, so I will have to be to bed earlier on Thursday night.   I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will go to bed soon.  CIO

Note:<888> 07/04/06  Tuesday 9:10 P.M.:   I woke up at 10 A.M..   I chatted with a relative.   I went back to bed until a little before 2:30 P.M., and I watched the NASA www.nasa.gov Space Shuttle launch.    I went outside to see if I could see it passing by, but the skies were overcast.   I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted  English muffin with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with splenda and milk.   I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes.   I routinely wash the dishes after every meal, which is not too difficult for me to do from past work experience.    I chatted with a relative.   I tried testing the Toshiba laptop computer with the AT&T wireless router, and it would not go online.   I reinstalled the Netgear card driver for the Toshiba laptop, and it goes online with the AT&T wireless router without any problems.   I chatted with two my relatives in Maine.   The IBM www.ibm.com Netvista computer works just fine up in Maine going online with wireless connectivity, so I will not be bringing up the Toshiba laptop.   They are both about the same CPU and memory speed.    If one needs to test one's summer retreat connection speeds, one can try Speakeasy - Speed Test .   I have one technical problem that I can live with for now.   When I turn on the AT&T wireless router, its signal interferes with the Server Logitech wireless mouse signal, and the Logitech wireless mouse quits working, but when I turn off the AT&T wireless router, the Logitech wireless mouse starts working again.  A little while ago, I ate a 5.75 ounce tube of Pringle sour cream and onion potato chips.   I will now eat a bowl of the gelatin and fruit mixture with iced tea.   I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will shower and clean up after I eat the gelatin, and I will go out for some cooler fresh air.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/04/06  Tuesday 2:45 A.M.:   I ate the last piece of apple pie with two scoops of butter pecan ice cream.   I watched part of the Fox News www.foxnews.com broadcast a little while ago.   Apparently North Korea plans to test launch a missile which would have the capability of carrying a small nuclear payload as far as the Pacific Northwest of the United States of America.   The United States of America government has indicated that they might have to bomb the North Korean missile facility to prevent the test launch.   This obviously also has the Japanese and the South Koreans  worried.    Since North Korea is a Communist country like Communist China and also since North Korea is allied with Russia, more than likely bombing the North Korean Missile test facility might cause Russia or China or both to take some hostile action in retaliation.   If I were in one of those remote summer hideaway camps, I would stay there while the weather is still warm.   I plan to go up to Kennebunkport, Maine Kennebunkport, Maine, Scott's Internet Hotlist this coming Friday for a week and possibly part of another week after that.   I will not be around my regular computers or communications setup.    However, I left the old IBM Netvista up there, and there is wireless connectivity, so I might try to keep up my web log.   I have not made up my mind as to whether I will bring the old Toshiba laptop computer or not.   Bon Soir.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/04/06  Tuesday 2:00 A.M.:   I went through my email.   If you need a video camera, you can bid on this Sony CCD-TRV138 Hi8 Handycam Camcorder 2.5 in LCD or buy if for $170 and $17 shipping or $184 total.   Alas, I can not afford it.  www.nasa.gov is suppose to launch the Space Shuttle at 2:38 P.M. Eastern Daylight time BBC NEWS | Americas | Discovery ruled safe for lift-off .   STS-121 Discovery -- Space Shuttle Mission .   NASA - Space Shuttle . NASA - Why Are There Two Different Countdown Clocks? . NASA - Space Shuttle - Launch and Landing  .   I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will go to bed soon.   Happy Fourth of July.   It is 230 years since July 4, 1776, and 30 years since on July 5, 1976 since I saw Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip touring Bloomingdales in Manhattan during the day following the bicentennial on July 4, 1976.   Thus she was 6 years younger than me today, when I saw them then.  My blue and white check leisure pants have a hole in the right knee, so I guess I will have to quit using them, and use another heavier pair.  CIO

Note:<888> 07/04/06  Tuesday 1:30 A.M.:   I tried watching some television, but there was not much that interested me.    I will now go through my email.    CIO

Note:<888> 07/03/06  Monday 11:45 P.M.:   I then opened up the package of three 3/4 pound boneless chicken breasts, and I rinsed them underneath cold water, and I dried them with a paper towel.   I then put them in a Pyrex pie dish, and I rubbed olive oil on both sides of each boneless chicken breast.   I then seasoned both sides with garlic powder, chicken and meat seasoning, ground black pepper, Italian seasoning, dried parsley and Kraft Bulls Eye barbeque sauce one side at a time with the rib side down for cooking.  I then poured into the dish at the side, so as not to disturb the seasoning about a quarter of a cup of La Choy low sodium soy sauce.   I then cooked them in the Farberware convection oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 35 minutes.   While doing that, I put about 2 ounces of the baby spinach leaves on a dinner plate with one third of a thinly sliced and peeled cucumber slices, four 4 inch by 1 inch by .25 inch slices of Danish Plumrose ham sliced into .25 inch wide strips, five 1.25 inch by 1.25 inch by .25 inch slices of Stop and Shop Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese sliced into .25 inch wide strips, 10 pitted California black olives, around and about 1.5 ounces of Cardini Caesar croutons, and about 1/4th of a pint of grape tomatoes and a couple tablespoons of Kraft grated parmesan cheese and  seasoned it with balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil.   Also for the last 15 minutes the chicken was cooking I put about 1.5 cups of baby carrots and broccoli crowns and two ears of cleaned corn on the cob on a steamer tray in a large Revere pot with an inch of water, and over 15 minutes I brought it to a boil over high electric heat, and then I reduced it to medium for the remaining of the 15 minutes.   Once the chicken was done, I put one with half the cooking juices in a Rubbermaid container with lid in the refrigerator and the other two cooked chicken breasts I put on a dinner plate with the remaining 2/3rds of the cooking juices over it and the two ears of corn on the cob with olive oil on them on the dinner plate too.   I put the steamed baby carrots and broccoli crowns with a bit of olive oil in a separate bowl.   I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.   CIO

Note:<888> 07/03/06  Monday 10:05 P.M.:   I tried to hook up the clock radio telephone, but I needed a female to female telephone wire connector.   I went back downtown to www.cvs.com , and I bought two Philips www.philips.com female to female telephone wire connectors for $2.99 each and .36 tax for $6.34 total.   I then sat out briefly downtown.   I then went by the Food Emporium, and I bought three Tropicana 59 ounce carafes of orange juice with calcium for $3.89 each, but they were suppose to be $2.50 each, so I was over charged $4.17 and 3 boneless breast of chicken halves for $2.99 a pound for $6.13 for $17.80 total.   I will go back by the Food Emporium tomorrow to get my $4.17 back.   I then returned home.  I used the telephone female to female telephone wire connector to connect the Columbia telephone line on the left side of the bed, and I put a two way splitter in it, and then a short cable to the Columbia telephone, and then I ran the cable from the telephone clock radio on the right side of the bed to the other half of the splitter.   I set the telephone clock radio to the right time.  One controls its functions by the switch on the left side.   It has an alarm reset button, for when the alarm goes off, and it is simpler to set.   I moved the RCA clock radio to the window shelf in the living room beneath the air conditioner.  I put the spare female to female telephone wire connector in the right night stand drawer by the bed with the other telephone parts.   CIO
