Note:<888> 06/30/06  Friday 11:00 P.M.:   Earlier, I put $5 on my MacGray laundry card, so I now have $16.25 left on it.   The cable modem worked with the generator power, so I would think the router and network switch would work, so more than likely the Toshiba laptop would work.   For some reason the Sony television also worked, although I think it would draw a lot of power.   However, I am not sure if their are building electronics in the cable system that might keep the internet from working in a power failure, but the Optimum Voice telephone worked.   CIO

Note:<888> 06/30/06  Friday 10:45 P.M.:   I woke up at 3 P.M..  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted  English muffin with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with splenda and milk.   The was a wasp in my apartment, and I opened the door, and it flew out into the hallway.  About 4:15 P.M., the electricity went off.   I turned off my electronics when it came back on briefly.   With the building generator the low wattage lights work, but not the more powerful items.   I dressed, and I went out.   The fire department was also paying us a call.   I picked up my mail.   I went downtown, and I went by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street, and I used their ATM machine.   I then went by CVS on Greenwich Avenue, and I bought four 9.75 ounce lightly salted CVS whole cashew nuts for $2.50 each, a Hawaiian Breeze Glade Plug-in refill for $2.50, two 150 capsule count bottles of CVS Spectravite Senior USP Multivitamin/Mulitminerals for $9.79 both, 2 CVS Niacin Flush Free 500 mg 100 capsule bottles for $6.99 both, two bottles of CVS Balanced B-150 50 capsules for $9.99 both, two CVS MSM 1000 mg. 60 capsules bottles for $6.79 both, two CVS B-12 2000 mcg 60 capsules$7.19 both, 2 CVS garlic oil 100 capsules for $4.59 both, two CVS 1000 mg. vitamins C 100 capsule for $6.39 both, and two 96 count Tums Fancy Fruit extra strength for $2.99 each bottle less a $2.50 off CVS coupon for $67.71.   I then drove down a bit further on Greenwich Avenue, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.   I sat out at various locations.   I stopped by Zyn stationary, and I bought a ACES High $1 scratch card, and I won $2.   I used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center.   I stopped by CVS again, and I picked up a prescription.   I bought a 10 pack of CVS disposable twin blade razors for $3.29, a 7 ounce can of CVS sensitive skin shaving gel for $1.99, a CVS 3.5 ounce Clorox drop in toilet tablet for $1.99, and two buy one get one free Right Guard Xtreme cool peak deodorant 2.7 ounce solid stick for $3.69 both plus .66 tax for $11.62 total.   I then completed my walk.   I sat our some more for a while.   I drove down by the waterfront.   I went by the Greenwich Automotive Exxon service station next to the Greenwich Library, and I bought $20 of self service premium unleaded gasoline $3.599 a gallon for 88.6 miles driving the past 12 days at 16.1 miles per gallon at an average of 12 miles per hour.   I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a dozen large eggs for $1.69, whole boneless breasts of chicken at $2.99 a pound for $3.41, a 2 pound bag of onions for $2.19, a 16 ounce bag of baby carrots for $1.99, fresh broccoli crowns at $1.99 a pound for $2.09, and a bulb of fresh garlic at $2.99 a pound for .36 for $11.73 total.   I then returned home, and I put away my purchases.   I washed the breakfast dishes, and I made my bed.   I watered the plants, and I put out white vinegar in the scent bowl.   I threw out some garbage and periodical literature.   The elevator is not working.  I started up the server.   I left messages with two relatives.    CIO

Note:<888> 06/29/06  Thursday 11:30 P.M.:   I chatted with a relative.   I printed out five sheets of 10 or 50 calling cards total, and they are the same, but I added my home server web address.   I used Microsoft Picture It 10 Premium software which opened the Microsoft Home Publisher saved calling card off my computer.  I put 10 of the new calling cards in my wallet held together with a green rubber band, and I use a rubber band to hold together the other 40 which I placed on the top of my file rack on the dining table.  I will now do some regular internet work.   According to a relative, the Greenwich Hedge Fund article is in a more recent Vanity Fair, which the Greenwich Library did not have on display.  It is the one with a picture of some actress on the cover.  I read this article, but when I do it on my computer, it times out PCWorld.com - Internet Tips: Find the Name Behind a Malicious IP Address or one can use a tool like this GRSites.com DNS and Reverse DNS Lookup .  I was asked tonight in the library if one can use a program to undelete a lost file on a pen drive, and all I could think of, is that Norton Utilities 7.0 use to have a file undelete program, providing the file had not been overwritten, and I assume it would work on a pen drive.  CIO

Note:<888> 06/26/06  Monday 6:55 P.M.:   I went outside, and I chatted with some neighbors and the housing authority representative.   I made a few telephone calls regarding the technical difficulty, I have been having on the internet.   I ate three scoops of Edy's low fat caramel delight ice cream.   I basically called the local police, the police at National Center for Supercomputing Applications , and the www.cablevision.com Optimum Online tech support, and I left a message with a friend.   I also chatted with the office at the Bank of New York on Mason Street.   From what I can tell a lot of these internet people whom supposedly have money, only have something like Monopoly money or Play money, and whether they actually have real money or not is opened to question.   I found two Lincoln pennies on Greenwich Avenue yesterday.   Basically the internet is inexpensive communications for those of us whom know how to use it.   However, in terms of communications, there are other forms of communications, some of which might be more advanced.  From what I recall, I think the internet is part of DoD HPCMP - Defense Research and Engineering Network , and this is a map of it http://www.hpcmo.hpc.mil/Htdocs/DREN/dren2.gif and Defense Test and Evaluation and JOINT INTEROPERABILITY AND SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY TEST AND TRAINING, and this shows how it fits into the overall picture, which does not even have a working link for DREN.   I guess it is some sort of old project that with the larger Iraq war on, it was probably cut back and forgot about.  However, their primary web link still seems to work Joint Chiefs of Staff - JCS Link .  CIO

Note:<888> 06/26/06  Monday 3:35 P.M.:   I think they have been drinking too much www.coors.com out in Colorado.   My server was hacked again, and I got the IP address, and I did a reverse IP address lookup, and the hacker comes from www.level3.com .   If one looks at their board of directors Level 3 Communications, Inc. - Board of Directors , there is a Walter Scott Jr. The Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans: Walter Scott, Jr., whom I think is Warren Buffet's original partner.   Since there is also James Ellis former head of Offutt Air Force Base, it would seem to me that this is more than a random chance that they would be hacking me.   Thus it would seem that my insurance guy is hacking my web server.  If I had not paid them over $10,000 over the last 12 years or so, I would think of switching from www.geico.com to some other insurance company that would not cause me such problems.   I chatted with two relatives and a local security office.   CIO

Note:<888> 06/26/06  Monday 1:25 P.M.:  I emailed Vanity Fair about the Fred thing.   I went outside, and I threw away some garbage.   Crystal Rock Bottled Water was making their delivery to a neighbor.   Last time I looked www.perrier.com was still across the street, but that was over 10 years ago.   I picked up my mail, and I chatted with the building custodian.   I opened up a 7 ounce box of frozen Armour lite sausages, which I put in a 10 inch skillet with three tablespoons of water on medium heat with lid, and I cooked them for 7 minutes stirring occasionally.   While doing that I mixed in a large metal bowl with whisk three extra large eggs in a mixing bowl with a teaspoon of olive oil, a teaspoon of oregano, a tablespoon of grated parmesan cheese, and a couple of tablespoons of milk.  Once the sausages had cooked for seven minutes, I removed the lid, and I let the rest of the water evaporate, and then I added a couple of tablespoons of olive oil, and I mixed in the egg mixture, which I scrambled around the sausages.   Once the scrambled eggs were cooked to about medium soft, I put the frying pan on a dinner plate to warm the dinner plate, and also while cooking the eggs, I toasted two English muffin halves which I put a small bit of olive oil on.   I put it all on the dinner plate, and I ate it with a glass of iced tea.   I will now go through my email.   Judging by what I have been told by our local visitor from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida who went to www.mit.edu the enemy took over Palm Beach about eight years ago, and he has been surviving up north with his fellow students.  CIO

Note:<888> 06/25/06  Sunday 6:20 P.M.:   I watched some television.   "Please Don't Eat the Daisies" is on television again.  It is about a New York family that moves to the suburbs.   I ate two scoops of Butter Pecan ice cream.    Fat Frogs BBC NEWS | Programmes | From Our Own Correspondent | 'Aged 11, I was too big for Paris' FORTUNE Magazine: Warren Buffett gives away his fortune - Jun. 25, 2006 FORTUNE Magazine: A conversation with Warren Buffett - Jun. 25, 2006BBC NEWS | UK | Queen throws party for children .  Of course there is always the "The Wind in the Willows" and "Advice to My God Children".   I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will go to bed soon.   Perhaps I will channel surf the television.   CIO

Note:<888> 06/25/06  Sunday 4:35 P.M.:  I went out after the last message.  I stopped CVS, and I returned the two Southwestern Bell rechargeable telephone batteries for $6.36 cash refund.   I drove down by the waterfront on Steamboat Road.   I then walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.   I sat out at various locations.   I chatted with the pizza delivery person from Planet Pizza whom is from Brazil.   I chatted with a customer at the Greenwich Hardware store from Belgium.  I chatted with a family from Providence, Rhode Island.   I chatted with someone that looked familiar, but I could not place the individual.   About the time it started to rain, so I stopped by CVS briefly again.   I then sat underneath the glass canopy to stay dry for a while at the Pickwick Plaza by the Chase Bank.   I then completed my walk in the pouring rain.   I did not bring my umbrella, and I left it in the car, and as usual it rained.   I did have on my yellow DuPont Gortex rain slicker with hood, so it kept me from getting totally soaked.   I stood out for a while underneath the Greenwich Post Office colonnade which offers shelter from the rain.   I then stopped by the Greenwich Library, and I chatted with the reference librarian.   I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a 1.75 quart container of Edy's Slow Churn coffee ice cream for $1.99 and fresh green bananas at .79 a pound for $2.57 for $4.56 total.   I then returned home, and I chatted with a neighbor.   I then microwaved a 21 ounce frozen Maria Callendar meat lasagna which I sprinkled a couple of tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese on along with a few dashes of parsley, garlic powder, and oregano, and I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.    I chatted with a relative.   CIO

Note:<888> 06/25/06  Sunday 10:10 A.M.:   I chatted with a relative after the last message.   I ate three scoops of Edy's low fat slow churn caramel ice cream.   I went to bed, and I woke up at 6 A.M..   I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted  English muffin with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with splenda and milk.  I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes.   I used Microsoft Vista beta 2 to backup my entire primary computer system from the first hard drive to the second hard drive.    I then did a Microsoft Windows XP Professional Automatic System Recovery backup from the C: drive to the D: drive.   I watched the last half hour of the www.hourofpower.org on television channel 45 digital from 8 A.M. to 9 A.M..   We have Dutch families in Greenwich, Connecticut, but as far as I know we do not have a Dutch Reform church, but last I heard there is still a Dutch Reform Church in nearby Rye, New York, and there is another one in Tarrytown, New York.   The Rockefeller farm in North Tarrytown, New York used to be a Dutch Farm, and I once met a man would lived in Dorothy Bush's neighborhood whom claimed his family had owned it before the Rockefellers.   He even had a familiar Dutch look of my youngest uncle.   Also in Manhattan, there are still quite a few Dutch Reform churches including Marble Collegiate Church.   Thus the Dutch still have a presence in this area, so just because they do not walk around in wooden shoes, they have managed to keep a foot hold in the area.   On my primary computer system, the HP Photosmart P1000 printer turns on with the power strip switch.   I chatted with a Dutch friend whose family has continually lived in this area for 400 years.   His name is Richard Van Marter at Country Living Associates Real Estate in Wilton, Connecticut, and he knows this area better than anyone I have met in this area in the 45 years that I have lived here.   I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will shower, and I will clean up, and I will go out.   I have to return the Southwestern Bell cordless telephone batteries to CVS on Greenwich Avenue, so I have a little bit of mugging money.   CIO

End of Scott's Notes week of 06/24/06:

Note:<888> 06/24/06  Saturday 7:40 P.M.:   I opened a 6 ounce can of solid white albacore tuna fish, and I left the lid on, and I rinsed it underneath cold water pressing the lid a few times.  I then flaked it in a bowl with a fork, and I added two large tablespoons of Hellmann's low fat mayonnaise, and I mixed it all together.   I took four pieces of bread, and I put the tuna mixture on two pieces of the bread, and I put the top sides on the tuna sandwiches, and I cut them in half cross wise.  I also quartered two medium dill pickles lengthwise, and  I ate it all  with a glass of iced tea.    I will now send out my weekly notes.   CIO

Note:<888> 06/24/06  Saturday 7:00 P.M.:   I chatted with a friend.   I washed off the two green wrought iron patio or porch tables with Fantastic orange cleaner, and then I rinsed them with a hot damp cloth, and I dried them.   I put them in the far end of the living room by stereo system stacked on the chair and the floor in front of the chair, so they are out of the way of the primary living room sitting area, and I will take them up to Maine in two weeks.   One of them was missing the plastic cap on the bottom of its leg, so it would sit slightly unleveled, so I took the similar cap from a gallon jug of America's Choice white vinegar, and I trimmed it, and I inserted in the opening of the bottom of the leg, so although it is not quite as thick as the other legs' caps, it is more level and about a quarter inch less thick, but it also keeps the metal part of the leg from sitting on a damp outside deck.   They look quite nice, and they should look nice on the deck in Maine, and they are big enough to hold a potted flowering plant along with a drink glass or whatever one would set down on it from an adjacent chair.   CIO

Note:<888> 06/24/06  Saturday 5:50 P.M.:   I put away my laundry.   I ate a few handfuls of dry roasted peanuts with some iced tea.   Basically over here on the more affluent side of town with the same zip code as the poorer area of Belle Haven, we have learned to watch our budget in terms of computers.   I have heard there is even a wealthy European banking family living nearby, so if any of these so called rich Americans have barrowed money from them over the centuries, it would not look good for them being living high on the hog with barrowed money with your banker watching your every step.   I remember back in the more frugal days of Greenwich, Connecticut when John Reed was the President of Citicorp Welcome to Citibank , he use to drive a Volkswagen to commute to the Greenwich railroad station.   I use to see the former chairman of the Federal Reserve bank evening walking home from the Greenwich train station.  In the May 24, 2004 issue of www.forbes.com magazine, Steve Forbes said that Hedge Funds are the sleaziest game in town.   Since although they might be profitable, since they are also unregulated, one could also easily lose one's investment capital.  My personal viewpoint particularly if one has a large amount of investment capital, one tends to drive up the markets, when one buys into the markets, and when one sells one drives down the markets.   Thus it would seem prudent to me for large capital investors to invest in long term United States Government Dept U.S. Treasury - Daily Treasury Yield Curve , where at least one would not risk losing one's principal.   Even tax free municipal bonds can lose their principal I think if they are bid down.   CIO

Note:<888> 06/24/06  Saturday 3:45 P.M.:   I threw out some garbage.   I chatted with a neighbor.   I picked up my mail.   I cut the last four 1/4 inch thick slices of the cold eye round, and I put Gold's horseradish and Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce on them.   I put about a cup of broccoli crowns in a plastic microwave proof pot with an inch of water, and I ran it on one vegetable cycle, and then I put the Rubbermaid container with the remaining rice from last night, and I ran it on two more vegetable cycles, and then I removed the vegetables, and I drained them, and I put them in a bowl with a little bit of olive oil, and I ran the rice on one reheat cycle, and I put it on the dinner plate with the meat.   I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.   I chatted with a relative.   I am doing two loads of laundry, and I have five minutes to go on the wash cycle.   I put clean linens on the bed.    I am lending a neighbor a $1.80 off my laundry card, since the neighbor's laundry card does not work.    CIO

Note:<888> 06/24/06  Saturday 1:00 P.M.:   I woke up at 8 P.M..  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, a toasted  English muffin with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with splenda and milk.  I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes.   I went over to Port Chester, New York.   I stopped by the Bank of New ATM machine over on Midland Avenue in Port Chester, New York.   There is a large www.bmw.com car facility behind the Bank of New York at that location.   I then went over to Home Depot www.homedepot.com , and they have 5000 BTU Goldstar Air conditioners for $90, 6500 BTU Goldstar air conditioners for $120, they also have 10,000 BTU air conditioner for around $190, and I liked the 15,000 BTU LTH air conditioner for $320.   They also had a 18,000 BTU air conditioner, but I am not sure what electrical socket it takes.    I bought five 6 foot 16 gauge 13 amp extension cords for $1.24 each and two 12 foot 16 gauge 13 amp extension cords for $2.33 each plus .80 tax for $11.66.   I then returned home.   I chatted with a neighbor.  I disconnected the 20 inch Dell monitor from the primary computer, and I moved it out of the way.   I installed the other older Belkin Power Control Center beneath the other three power control centers.  I connected it to the surge protector power strip.    I used one six foot extension cord, and I connected the powered USB LAN device to the second control panel left switch.   I connected Minolta 1250W laser printer to the bottom control panel right switch.   I connected with a 6 foot extension cord the Logitech cordless headset for the primary computer to the second switch from the right on the bottom control panel.   I connected a  with a 6 foot extension cord the Logitech cordless headset for the server computer to the second switch from the left on the lower control panel.  I connected with another six foot extension cord and three prong adapter, the Lexmark X85 to the left switch on the bottom control panel.

They thus are setup as:

Computer, Left Monitor, Right Monitor, Cable Modem

Powered USB port and LAN device, Speakers, Network Switch, Router

Power Strip for the Logitech cordless headset, powered USB port and printers; Scanner; Lexmark E238; Lamp

Lexmark X85, Headset #2, Headset #1, Minolta laser printer

Each of the four control panels has a master switch.

I labeled the new switches on the fourth control panel with small labels covered with scotch tape.

I reinstalled the Dell 20 inch monitor.   Thus the top the Dell 20 inch monitor on the right is about 3.5 inches higher than the top of the Dell 19 inch monitor on the left.   I also took out the two floppy disk boxes from beneath printer stand beneath the control panels, and I put them on the floor the right of the woofer.  I move the old telephone cards by the AT&T telephone by the French reproduction chair in case any of them have time left on them.   I put the spare 15 foot, two 12 foot, and one 6 foot extension cords in a bag on top of the cable box beneath the living room desk.   Picture http://mikelouisscott.com/photo/primary-computer-with-four-power-control-centers-062406.JPG .   CIO

Note:<888> 06/23/06  Friday 11:55 P.M.:   I went out after the last message, and I chatted with some neighbors.  I returned back to my apartment, and when I turned on the Minolta laser printer, it blew the fuse on the UPS device.   I looked more closely at the small UPS instructions, and it said one is only suppose to connect the computer to it.  I moved the monitor again, and I removed the UPS device, and I checked its fuse which was blown.   I went out to the new www.radioshack.com in Cos Cob, and I bought two packages of four Radio Shack #270-1056 5 amp 125 volt fast acting fuses 5X20 mm GMA type.   I then drove down Greenwich Avenue by the waterfront, and I returned home.   I chatted with some neighbors.  I then installed one of the new fuses in the UPS device, and it works fine again.   I hooked up the surge protector power strip with all of the devices attached to it to the surge protector wall outlet.  I connected the UPS device to the computer switch for the Belkin surge protector power control switch.   I place the UPS device on the subwoofer beneath the keyboard, so it gets plenty of ventilation.   I plugged in the CPU cable to the UPS device.   I then had to put a new monitor cable on the 20 inch Dell monitor, since I broke one of the screws on the old cable.   To turn on the primary computer, one has to turn on the control panel switch and then the UPS device, and that turns on the computer which comes on with power.   To turn it off, one shuts down the computer, turns off the UPS device and then turns off the control panel switch.  The "power strip" switch also turn on the Minolta laser printer power, and the Lexmark X85, and the powered USB port box and the Logitech wireless headset.   On the server, I connected its UPS device to the Belkin surge protector power control strip and only the server CPU cable is now connected to the UPS device, and one turns on the server by turning on the UPS device and the CPU power switch.   I positioned the UPS device underneath the desk, so it gets plenty of ventilation.   For some reason, it looks like the server was hacked because it the Microsoft IIS server would not go online.  Instead of trying to troubleshoot it, I restored the C: drive ASR backup, and I did some minor configuration and updates, and it is now running again.  I then did a Microsoft Windows XP Automatic System Recovery backup of the C: drive.   I chatted with a relative whom thinks I am nuts for working on the computer all of the time.  Earlier today, I ate about 40% of 16 ounce jar of Planter's dry roasted peanuts with some ice tea.   I will now eat two scoops of butter pecan ice cream.  I put the spare fuses in a plastic zip lock bag in the left top desk drawer.   I could have used the fourth Belkin power control device that I removed, but that would have set the monitor two high.  I might put it with the backup systems in the bedroom.  However, it would not take too long if I decided to install it on the primary computer.   I will now go through my email.   CIO

Note:<888> 06/23/06  Friday 3:40 P.M.:   The order from www.geeks.com for one AP500W, 500w Power Supply, Pwr-ap500w, 500w Atx Power Supply Aluminum for $14 and two 650VA Two Outlet 110VAC UPS for $23.95 each plus with over $49 order with coupon "SHIP295", there is $2.95 ground shipping for $64.85 total arrived after the last note FedEx | Track .   I installed the new parts as I described in the note below.   The three Belkin surge control panels underneath the right center monitor of the primary computer have the following switch setup.

Computer, Left Monitor, Right Monitor, Cable Modem

Blank, Speakers, Network Switch, Router

Power Strip for the Logitech cordless headset, powered USB port and printers; Scanner; Lexmark E238; Lamp

Each of the three control panels has a master switch.

I labeled all of the switches with small labels covered in scotch tape.  I put the UPS devices as described earlier with the primary computer one plugged into wall outlet surge protector, with the surge protector strip plugged into it, and everything is connected to the surge protector strip.   I installed the server UPS device the same way, but I placed it underneath the desk, and from the second plug, I have an extension cord plugged into it connected to the low wattage elephant light and low wattage tube light by the television chair, so if one turned off the server in a power failure, there might be enough battery power for the low wattage lights for a short spell.   I will keep the boxes that the Belkin power control panels and the UPC devices came in.   I will throw out the shipping boxes   Thus I have ample surge protection on the primary and server computers.   I hooked up the old APC UPS device to the Northgate Syntax backup computer and Toshiba laptop power strip.   The APC UPS device has a worn out battery, but it still might provide surge protection.   I will now throw out the shipping boxes.   CIO

Note:<888> 06/23/06  Friday 11:15 A.M.:   I woke up at 6:30 A.M..  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, 2 slices of toast with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with splenda and milk.  I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes.   I watered the plants, and I put more white vinegar in the scent bowl on the window shelf.   I threw out the garbage and the old periodical literature including the old computer magazines.   I saw on the news yesterday that President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush get up at 5:30 A.M. in the morning, which I think is early by New York City standards, but I guess that is what time one has to get up to get the chores down on the ranch.   I had a problem with my computer system freezing, so I restored my Microsoft Vista Beta 2 backup of the entire system after making copies of the changed files to the second hard drive.   I still had the same problem.   I chatted with a local technical security group to no avail.   I think I finally fixed the problem.  The Logitech wireless headset was interfering with my Microsoft wireless laser mouse, so once I turned off the Logitech wireless headset the problem seems to have gone away.   I restored the changed files, so the system is back to the way it was, except I lost the last week's saved email which is no big deal.   The order from www.geeks.com for one AP500W, 500w Power Supply, Pwr-ap500w, 500w Atx Power Supply Aluminum for $14 and two 650VA Two Outlet 110VAC UPS for $23.95 each plus with over $49 order with coupon "SHIP295", there is $2.95 ground shipping for $64.85 total is out for delivery FedEx | Track .  Also the order for two eBay: BELKIN F9M520-08 SURGE PROTECTOR 5 PORT (item 9736316217 end time Jul-03-06 13:23:07 PDT) for $9.95 each and $22.90 Standard Flat Rate Shipping for both or $12.95 for one and $9.95 for the second for $42.80 total is DHL: Track (By number) "16626209154" is also out for delivery.   I will install both sets of items once both orders arrives, since I will have to move the 20 inch primary computer monitor to install the Belkin surge protectors, and I will put one of the UPS power supply devices on the left hand side of the coffee table between both monitors connected to the wall outlet surge protector, and I will plug in the primary system devices from their power control strip at that location.   The other UPS power supply device I will put on the floor connected to the server computer power strip.   I will use the two Belkin power control centers that I remove for some of my other devices for the primary computer system.   The installation once both shipments arrive will take a while.   CIO

Note:<888> 06/22/06  Thursday 6:30 P.M.:   I chatted with a relative.  I worked with http://mikelouisscott.com/visbeta.htm .   I rearranged some items in the apartment entrance area.   I took down the picture off the apartment door of Prince Charles and Prince William and Prince Harry, and I hung it above the kitchen sink.   I took down the picture above the kitchen entrance of Presidents Reagan, Bush, and their wives, and I hung it above the kitchen counter.   I moved the picture of Queen Juliana to the left above the kitchen entrance.   In moving the items off the door around, I broke the Putnam Lodge 1854 to 1954 Masonic dinner plate, and I glued its pieces together with CVS quick set gel glue, and I rehung it to the left of the bedroom door entrance.   I moved the plate of St. Paul's Church in Manhattan to the top center of the apartment entrance door.   I put the two small bird pictures on either side of it.  On the left side a little lower, I put the old mirror.  I put the Jensen weather station on the right side of the door and beneath that the White House www.whitehouse.gov letter from President Bush, and I put the framed Reader's Digest www.rd.com Map of Magellan beneath those.   I move the horse calendar to the right side panel of the right closet door in the living room.   I move the family picture frame to the wall on the lower part of the right kitchen entrance.   I moved the framed picture of Prince Charles and Camilla with their families to the window shelf by the dolphin light.   Thus the apartment is a little bit neater and better organized.

Hello Mr. Scott,

I did not find a Scott among John Jay's mother's predecessor's. However, I could not go back very far on her family tree. Here is information I was able to obtain from books in our collection.

Most of this information came from Stahr, Walter. John Jay, Founding Father. New York: Hambledon and London; 2005.

John Jay born 1745

John Jay did not have any British ancestors, his great-grandfather Pierre fled from France to Britain in late 17th century to escape persecution as a Huguenot.

John Jay’s grandfather Auguste or Augustus Jay came to America and worked for Frederick Philipse in New York.

1697 - Augustus Jay married Anna Maria Bayard, Dutch Church, New York City. She was related to many of the prominent Dutch families such as Stuyvesants, Van Cortlandts, and others.

John Jay’s maternal grandfather, Jacobus Van Cortlandt, married Eva Philipse, adopted daughter of Frederick Philipse. They had 5 children, two of whom, their son Frederick and their daughter Mary, married children of Augustus and Anna Jay.

1728 - John Jay’s father Peter married Mary Van Cortlandt.

1774 John Jay married Sarah (Sally) Van Brugh* Livingston (1756-1802), who was the daughter of William Livingston (1723-1790) and Susannah French (1723-1789).

* Monaghan, Frank. John Jay. New York: Bobbs-Merrill; 1935

I hope this information proves helpful.

End of Email.   Of course the book that I read in Greenwich, Connecticut library about the first families of Manhattan published around 1800, listed the first 2000 families in Manhattan, and two of them were from the Scott family, and it mentioned one of their daughters had married into the Jay family, so it must be a different Jay relative.   Whether the Scotts in Manhattan were related to the Scotts in Virginia, I do not know.  CIO

Note:<888> 06/22/06  Thursday 11:50 A.M.:   I woke up at 3:30 A.M..   I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, 2 slices of toast with olive oil, orange juice with vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with splenda and milk.    I went back to bed until 6 A.M..   I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes.   I showered, and I cleaned up.   I went out, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue.    I chatted with the www.mit.edu observer.   I chatted with the attorney for the Greenwich Housing Authority.   I stopped by CVS, and I bought four 16 ounce jars of Planter's dry roasted peanuts for buy one get one free for $3.39 both.  From the clearance rack, I bought a Linx 6 foot USB 2.0 cable A-B for $1.99, and a Southwestern cordless telephone battery S60508 for $4 and a Southwestern cordless telephone battery S60506 for $2 and .48 tax for $15.25 total.   I then went completed my walk.   I drove down by the waterfront.   I then went by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street.   I then went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop, and most everything is half price.   I bought a maple framed mirror about 19 inches by 29 inches for $10 and two medium green modern wrought iron with scalloped glass outside tables about 18.5 inches by 24.5 inches by 18 inches high for $15 each for $40 total.   I put them all in my car.   I said hello to another morning walker.   I then returned home.   I hung the maple frame mirror on the right side of the kitchen entrance.   I move the mirror from that location to the lower back side of the apartment entrance door.   I moved the horse calendar from the back of the door to the right hand side of the right living room closet door.   I stored the two green patio or porch tables at the near end of the down sofa.   I chatted with a relative.   I will return the two cordless telephone batteries, since they are the smaller ones, and they do not fit any of my cordless telephones.   I will take the two wrought iron outside porch or patio tables to my relative in Maine, when I visit in July.   Pictures

Note:<888> 06/21/06  Wednesday 8:25 P.M.:   I ate two scoops of butter pecan ice cream.   I will now shut down the primary computer, and I will go back to bed or watch television.   CIO

Note:<888> 06/21/06  Wednesday 7:50 P.M.:   I rested on the sofa until just now.   CIO

Note:<888> 06/21/06  Wednesday 2:10 P.M.:   I put the remaining half of the 2 pound defrosted eye round roast on a baking rack in a baking pan, and I seasoned it on all sides with garlic powder, ground black pepper, chicken and meat seasoning and Italian seasoning, and Texas Best barbeque sauce.   I baked it in the Farberware convection oven for 41 minutes at 325 degrees Fahrenheit.  I let it stand for a few minutes before carving off three 3/8th inch thick slices, which I put on a dinner plate with the juices.   I refrigerated the rest in a Rubbermaid container.   I also ate half of Michael Louis Scott's Microwave Oven Rice Recipe which I added two chicken bullion cubes to the rice recipe, and I refrigerated the other half in a Rubbermaid container.   I also steamed for 15 minutes on medium electric burner heat with an inch of water in a steamer tray about 2 cups of broccoli crowns and baby carrots which I put a little bit of olive oil on.  I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.   I then washed the dishes.   I will now put the primary computer on standby, and I will take a nap.  FOXNews.com - Revelers Welcome Summer at Stonehenge - International News | News of the World | Middle East News | Europe News .  CIO

Note:<888> 06/21/06  Wednesday 12:25 P.M.:   There is nothing I need at Costco, so I will save my money for now.   I went outside, and I chatted with some neighbors, and I picked up the mail.   I will now prepare my noon day meal like old Southern families do down south.  I still have the other half of the eye round defrosted.   CIO

Note:<888> 06/21/06  Wednesday 11:35 A.M.:   I chatted with a friend and a relative.   There is this tire deal at the moment Costco $60 Off a Set of 4 Michelin or Select BF Goodrich Tires Valid 06/05/06 - 6/25/06 ,  and I could get this set of tires Costco.com BFGoodrich® Traction T/A® V 205/55R16  for about $420 with the $60 discount plus tax, and I would still need to get the 4 wheel allignment.   My Costco card is good through June 2006.   However, they will probably have the same sale in the fall, and I could renew my Costco card at that time for $50.   Since I think my current tires are good for a round trip to Maine, I will probably wait until the fall.   CIO

Note:<888> 06/21/06  Wednesday 10:40 A.M.:   I checked with www.mavistire.com in nearby Cos Cob 1-203-698-9599, and they could install a set of V rated all season tires with mounting, stems, balancing, and four wheel alignment for about $550.  They would install a B.F. Goodrich traction V rating,  a ContiExtreme Contact V rating, or a Pirelli P6 Four Seasons H rating in size "205/55R16" , and their are other alternatives.   I chatted with www.samsclub.com up in Scarborough, Maine, and they could fit me out with a better set of Goodrich or Goodyear tires for my car for about $460 to $500, but they do not do alignments, and I would have to go to Sears nearby to get the tires aligned.   I still have over a quarter inch of tread on all four of my tires on the 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo wagon, so I technically could make the round trip to Maine during the first part of July 2006, and have the tires replaced locally here in Greenwich, Connecticut in the fall before the winter season.
