<888> 03/31/14 Monday 2:10 A.M.  I took the wire rack out of the Faberware Turbo convection oven, and I preheated the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit about five minutes.  While doing that I unwrapped the 14.06 ounce Greenway four cheese frozen pizza made in Italy, and I put it on the wire rack, and I seasoned it with celery salt, ground black pepper, garlic salt, Italian seasoning, a generous portion of grated Parmesan and Romano cheese, and extra virgin Italian olive oil over it all.  I then put the pizza on the rack in the Farberware Turbo convection oven on the center rack position for ten minutes.  After ten minutes, I used pot holders to take out the hot rack with pizza, and I put it on a wooden cutting board, so it would not burn the Formica counter top.  I then used a spatula to slide the pizza on to a dinner plate.  I ate it with a knife and fork along with a 12 ounce glass of Schweppes Ginger Ale.  I will now go back to bed for a while.  CIO

<888> 03/23/14 Sunday 4:00 A.M.  I made a number of telephone calls to various individuals on my speed dial list whom are awake at this hour.  Since the person who told me that the missing Malaysian Boeing 777 jet is in Iran as reported two and a half weeks ago, and since the Shah of Iran's family have moved out of Greenwich, Connecticut along with the Ali Khan, more than likely from the report two and a half weeks ago, it said the missing Boeing 777 jet could be reconfigured as a weapon, so possibly members of the local international community are moving to areas that they feel might be more secure.  However, it could all be a Chinese Paper Tiger trying to scare us.  I do not have the real answer, even if there were a real answer.  My personal viewpoint is that a group of con artist gypsies whom are well known called the Irish Travelers from Murphyville, South Carolina might be trying to scare people for profit.  They have been reported on many times in the Greenwich Time, so maybe they became high tech and international in their crimes or networked up with other international criminals.  I do not have the answer.  Having lived around the Irish in Boston and New York and Chicago, I happen to know a lot of Irish whom are involved in law enforcement whom might know more.  However, from the world geo political viewpoint, there are only 6 million people in Ireland, 2.5 million people in Northern Ireland, and a small scattering of them outside around the world, so they are not a major geopolitical force worldwide.  Since John www.harvard.edu was a minister from the Prison area of London, England, and he also died of tuberculosis, possibly people with Harvard degrees have some sort of problems with British law enforcement.  The area of Summerville, South Carolina which has lots of pine trees which use to be used for tuberculosis cures in the old days, since the pine was a heeling ingredient.  Decatur, Alabama where I also once lived had a tuberculosis sanatorium, when I lived there.  I am a computer techie, and not a medical person or geopolitician, but I do read a lot of bits and pieces of various news stories published in the English language in North America.  CIO

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-29 laptop computer is all setup with the new hard drive, and it runs just the same as before.  It has about 57 gigabytes of free hard drive space.  However, I disabled the Belkin wireless startup program, since it made Internet Explorer ask for a Belkin password which I do not have.  However, when one starts the Belkin wireless application from the desktop, it does not ask for a password in internet explorer.  Besides the Belkin card, I have built-in Panasonic wireless.  Although, the Panasonic CF-29 Toughbook is a bit slow starting up, once it starts up and loads all of its devices and software, it runs just fine.  In an emergency, if I had to go into the field, it is a very rugged computer.  I have $457.75 into its setup with all of its parts and accessories, although it is probably only worth half that today.  However, with the new hard drive, it should have long life.  The battery still shows a full charge.  Before you snub your nose at it, remember a new Panasonic Toughbook costs a lot more $4,319.99 Panasonic Toughbook 31 - Core i5 3340M / 2.7 GHz - Windows 7 Pro - 4 GB RAM - 50    CIO

<888> 03/17/14 Monday 11:35 A.M.  I threw out the garbage.  I moved the Volvo wagon to its usual place.  I chatted with neighbors.  One would never know it, but I live near the World Headquarters for the World's Most Secret Computer Company www.ibm.com and http://www.ibm.com/contact/us/en/  that nobody locally seems to know anything about up in Armonk, New York.  It is only about 8.9 miles away as the crow flies or about 18 minutes.  They have never shown any interest in me since I moved here in 1962, except inviting me to a deb party the St. Regis Hotel in Manhattan around 1970.  They did help finance http://www.greenhosp.org/ , if one needs medical assistance locally.  However, they probably have a lot of major security up there, not to mention it would be very expensive to drive that far away to see if anything might be happening up there.  Also the main route there King Street is a very busy two lane road with www.pepsi.com headquarters half way to Armonk not to mention the nearby http://www4.passur.com/hpn.html , so I guess all of the IBM business travelers go to nearby White Plains, New York, where there is more activity.  CIO

<888> 03/16/14 Sunday 9:25 P.M.  I once read in the local newspaper in Kennebunkport, Maine that the "Old Guard" like drinking Bloody Mary's on Sunday morning.   As I recall the recipe for a Bloody Mary is a couple of shots or ounces of http://www.smirnoff.com/ in a glass of ice with about four to six ounce of www.heinz.com tomato juice and dashes of ground black pepper, a few dashes http://www.leaperrins.com/ and a few dashes of http://www.tabasco.com/ and a teaspoon of Gold's Horse Radish, and all shaken or stirred, with a twist of lemon or lime wedge.  This is the internet version http://www.thebar.com/drink-recipe/bloody-mary?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=bloody%20mary%20recipe&utm_campaign=Desktop-General-US-NB-Recipes-Core-Exact&utm_content=22FOCyKS|pcrid|2005144321 which has a half ounce of lemon juice and also dashes of green tabasco sauce and a pinch of salt and a celery stick.

I just drank a 12 ounce glass of 50% punch and 50% Schweppes Ginger Ale.  CIO

<888> 03/16/14 Sunday 8:40 P.M.  I chatted with a relative.  The relative suggested that I watch "60 Minutes".  My old office at www.cbs.com in the spring and summer of 1973 used to be next to "60 Minutes".  I worked as a clerk typist on an IBM Selectric doing the paperwork for the commercials.  Each commercial film reel had to have its own paperwork for billing purposes.  Back then a minute of prime time advertising went for a million dollars, since so many people watched the major networks.  However, I was only paid $75 a week after taxes.  I had to be at work from 10 A.M. to 7 P.M., but since I had a hard time sleeping, I had a problem making it to work by 10 A.M., so I was fired.  I lived in a $35 a week room at the St. Clair residence on West 10th street just west of Fifth Avenue.  There used to be a pub a block west of their called the "Ninth Circle" where a lot of the CBS employees hung out after work.  There was even a 24 hour 7 day a week television repair shop next to the Ninth Circle, in case one needed a TV part at some odd time of the day.  The Ninth Circle at one time was one of the oldest steak houses in Manhattan.  However, as the neighborhood became more expensive, I guess the television people found other places to hang their hats.  I noticed today while walking by the Greenwich Train Station that Sanel's ? restaurant had little bottles of http://www.tabasco.com/ on their tables, which I wandered since it is so expensive, people might walk off with them. However, "CBS 60 Minutes" just had a segment on the Tabasco family and its operations.  It seems they are in gator country.  When I went to http://lookoutmountaincamp.com/ the Morrison family from New Orleans of cafeteria fame owned the camp.  Morrison's catering now does the catering at the Senior Center in Greenwich.  Since I was one of three Yankee campers at Lookout Mountain Camp, the other few hundred southern boys never kept track of me, but they were all from old established southern families.  Tabasco sauce tastes really good on Hickory smoked barbecue pork and chicken.  However, they do not know how to make real barbecue up north the way they do down south.  There used to be a barbecue place across the street from the World Wrestling Federation in Stamford, Connecticut, but I can not find mention of it on the internet.  It was right on the Stamford Darien border on US 1.  CIO

<888> 03/16/14 Sunday 5:40 P.M. CIO

<888> 03/16/14 Sunday 3:55 P.M.  I threw out the garbage.  I went downtown to the Greenwich Avenue CVS.  I bought two 12 packs of 12 ounce Canada Dry Ginger Ale and a 12 pack of 12 ounce A&W root beer for $11 and a $1.80 can deposit for $12.80 total.  I then bought a 16 ounce bag of CVS lightly salted almonds for $4.99 less the $4 bonus bucks on the previous purchase for .99 total.  I then went further downtown.  I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I sat out at various locations.  I chatted with another local walker.  I used the bathroom at CVS.  I sat out at the top of Greenwich Avenue.  I then went back by CVS, and I bought four 18 ounce cans of Progresso New England clam chowder for $1.49 each less .50 CVS machine coupon for $5.46 total.  I then finished my walk, and I sat out some more enjoying the brisk cool sunny day.  I then went by A&P Fresh, and I bought a 42 ounce Quaker Old Fashioned oatmeal for $5.99, a 12 ounce package of Purdue seasoned cutlets for $3.34, a three pound bag of organic Canadian Russet potatoes for $2.99, four 14.06 ounce Green Way frozen four cheese pizzas for $1.99 each less a 20% off frozen food coupon of $1.59 off for $19.69 total.  I then went by the Putnam Shell at 401 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought $9 of self service V-Powered premium gasoline for $4.299 a gallon for 2.093 gallons at odometer reading of 107557 miles for 26.7 miles driven since Saturday March 8, 2014 for 12.757 miles per gallon in mostly local traffic.  CIO

<888> 03/13/14 Thursday 11:50 A.M.  In the old days when gasoline was cheaper, one could drive up to Norwalk, Connecticut 15 miles to the east of use and browse the discount outlet stores.  Alas CompUSA is no longer there anymore.  Of course, one never knows what one might find at Walmart or whatever else is up there.  Of course the government does not think that disabled people should have too much money to travel around, so the government only lets them have enough money to stay home and read and possibly watch television if they can afford cable TV by cutting back on their food budget.  I think the disabled people should have a March on Washington, but obviously they can not afford to travel that far.  I found this chart http://www.ssa.gov/oact/STATS/dibStat.html that shows how many other people are in the same boat http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/poverty/report/2013/05/30/64681/the-facts-on-social-security-disability-insurance-and-supplemental-security-income-for-workers-with-disabilities/ .  Still I do the best to make ends meet.  CIO

<888> 03/13/14 Thursday 11:25 A.M.  I threw out the garbage.  I guess we are still in the North Country.  It is 19 degrees Fahrenheit outside right now.  Tonight, there will be a low of 13 degrees Fahrenheit.  There is no point in facing the Tundra on Greenwich Avenue, since the 4.7 miles of gasoline to go downtown and back, is enough to keep one warm and comfortable at home all day.  I guess those people who live within easy walking distance of Starbucks can sit out downtown and watch the Nordic people go about their simple village routines.  There is not too much new to do on the internet without spending money, so I just maintain my home office as best as I can afford.  I suppose the warm weather people down south will not be returning to this area until around June 1, 2014.  They usually leave after the end of the hurricane season in the end of November, and do not try to endure the colder winters.  Thus they make money on both ends of the warmer weather as they travel back and forth.  CIO

<888> 03/09/14 Sunday 1:25 A.M.  Back in 1978 while living at Mrs. Frances' Guest House at 31 India Street out in www.nantucket.net , I had a simpler way of making yogurt in Flossie's communal kitchen.  I would take a gallon of Hood whole milk and boil it in a pot to about 180 degrees Fahrenheit.  I would then cool it down in the refrigerator to slightly warmer than body temperature about 115 degrees Fahrenheit.  I would then mix in a 8 ounce cup of Columbo plain yogurt with a cup of the warm milk and then mix it all into the larger pot of warm.  I would then set the yogurt mixture in the gas oven which was slightly warmed by the pilot light or warm the lowest setting on an electric oven for about 12 hours overnight.  I would then put the bowl of yogurt in the refrigerator to chill for another 12 hours.  I would then have a lot of yogurt which slightly amused Flossie.  However, I only did that in the off season in the fall, when it was less busy.  Back in December 1983, when I first returned back to Greenwich, Connecticut from www.nantucket.net , I was living without a kitchen but with refrigerator at 100 Milbank Avenue in the third floor attic apartment.  For breakfast I would buy quart containers of Columbo plain yogurt for about $1.59 and half gallons of orange juice for about 59 cents.  I would have some of that each day for breakfast.  In June of 1984, when I moved to 700 Steamboat Road, I still did not have a kitchen, but a half size refrigerator.  I continued that same breakfast routine, since until October 1986, I did not have a car, so I had to walk back and forth downtown.  I did not eat lunch, but I would eat my dinners at the old Greenwich Hospital cafeteria which were $2.50.  In the first six months back in Greenwich in 1984, I went from 155 pounds to 205 pounds.  When I got the used yellow Volkswagen Dasher Station wagon in October 1986, I started cooking on a hot plate at 700 Steamboat Road, and I also had a small toaster oven.  I finally moved to 71 Vinci Drive in December 1988, and I have had a kitchen ever since.  However with all of the time I have spent on personal computers in the last 23 years, my cooking skills have declined, since I frequently do not have the time or resources to cook complete meals.  CIO

<888> 03/09/14 Sunday 12:10 A.M.  I set up the yogurt machine on the kitchen counter.  I made up a batch of yogurt per the instructions.  However, I made the five quarts of powdered milk about 50% more concentrated or about two quart packets of powdered milk for five cups.  I also used 6 packets of Truvia low fat sweetener to sweeten the yogurt, so it will be less fat.  I used three tablespoons of Chaboni yogurt for a starter.  Thus I will have 40 ounces of yogurt in 9 hours at 9:30 A.M. Sunday morning, but then I have to refrigerate it for eight hours before eating any.  I have a yogurt thermometer and a regular food thermometer for measuring the milk temperature as I heat and cool it.

The cost of the yogurt is:

One Chaboni Greek yogurt at $1.08

six packets of Truvia sweetener for $.45

powdered milk $2.60 for $4.05 total for 40 ounces of yogurt or a dime an ounce.

Eight 6 ounce cups of Chaboni yogurt would cost $8.58 for 48 ounces or 18 cents an ounce or $7.15 for 40 ounces.

Thus I am saving $3.10 for an hour's work. However, I can use the new yogurt for a starter which would mean a $.57 savings in the future for $3.48 for 40 ounces or 8.7 cents an ounce or 43.5 cents a five ounce cup of home made yogurt.  Of course I do not have the fruit in it, but I have more yogurt in it.  Thus it will be about a $3.67 savings for 40 ounces of home made yogurt without the fruit or 9.2 cent an ounce or 45.9 cents a five ounce cup.  Of course there is a bit of work to it at least an hour, and that does not include the electricity for heating and cooling the milk and the yogurt machine.    CIO

<888> 03/08/14 Saturday 7:55 P.M.  I woke up at 6:30 P.M..  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and milk, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a 12 ounce glass of 50% punch and 50% cold filtered water and vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and Splenda sweetener.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.  CIO

<888> 03/08/14 Saturday 11:55 A.M.  I threw out the garbage.  I scraped a thin layer of ice off the Volvo wagon.  I put the new www.geico.com insurance card in the Volvo wagon glove box.  I went downtown, and I sat out briefly.  I used the bathroom at Starbucks.  I then drove down by the waterfront on Steamboat Road.  The condos across from 600 Steamboat Road are coming along.  They have a huge pile of shredded rock and debris from the excavations.  I then drove through Bruce Park, where I saw two young fawns.  I drove along the waterfront to Old Greenwich.  I went by CVS in Old Greenwich, and I used the ATM machine at the Chase Bank in Old Greenwich.  I bought two 16 ounce Blue Diamond Wabasi and Soy almonds for $5.99 each for $11.98 total. I used the bathroom at CVS.  I then sat for a while.  At 8 A.M., when the http://thehaircutplace.com/ opened, I got my hair cut short for $25 and $5 tip for $30 total.  I then drove out to the Southwest Picnic area at Tod's Point, and I chatted with a relative on my wireless.  The former site on an island of a family friend's house now has one story partially framed in with a new house.  It seems like it has small windows for the waterfront.  Maybe that is to keep it warmer.  I then drove back through Old Greenwich, and I stopped by CVS in Cos Cob.  I bought four 40 pack boxes of Truvia sweetener for $3 each for $12 total.  I then bought a 2.5 ounce Ronson Butane refill container for $4.19 and .27 tax for $4.46 total.  I then went downtown, and I sat out for a while.  I used the bathroom at Starbucks.  I then went by Zen Stationary, and I played an Ace's High scratch card for a dollar, but I lost.  I then went by the Stop and Shop.  I bought a 64 ounce container of Welch's Lite grape juice for $3.39, a 64 ounce container of Ocean Spray cranraspberry juice $2.50, a 5 quart box of Stop and Shop powdered milk for $6.49, bananas for .79 a pound for $1.68, a two pound bag of baby carrots for $2.50, two 24 ounce Simply Mashed mashed potatoes for $2 each, buy one get one free of Perdue Italian short cuts of grill chicken for $5.99 both, buy one six pack get one six pack free of Fiber One multigrain English muffins for $3.99 both for $30.46 total.  I then went by the Putnam Shell at 401 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought $12 of self service premium V-Power gasoline with 20 cents a gallon off with my Stop and Shop card for $4.099 a gallon for 2.927 gallons at odometer reading of 107531 miles for 41.2 miles driving since Sunday February 16, 2014 for 14.076 miles per gallon in mostly local traffic.  I then returned home to Chez Vinci, and I put away my groceries.  CIO

<888> 03/08/14 Saturday 6:05 A.M.  I will now dress up warmly.  I will then go downtown for a walk, and I will also forage for some food.  I put a Charles Schwab golf tee by the Grundig shortwave radio to make it easier to push the small buttons.  CIO

<888> 03/08/14 Saturday 5:45 A.M.  I ate four 5/16th inch thick slices of cold white chicken breast meat with Frank's hot sauce on the chicken slices, and the reheated flavored rice from yesterday with soy sauce on it, and steam baby carrots cut lengthwise into quarters with Smart Balance Spread and extra virgin olive oil on them along with a 12 ounce glass of Schweppes Ginger Ale and a cup of green tea with Splenda sweetener and Borden's lemon juice.  I also put ground black pepper on the chicken, rice and carrots.  CIO

<888> 03/08/14 Saturday 3:50 A.M.  The Eton 6 volt power adapter would not work with the Grundig shortwave radio.  It powered it up, but not sound would play.  However, I happened to have a Casio 6 volt power adapter, and it works with the Eton line adapter that came with the Eton 6 volt power adapter, so I have the Grundig shortwave radio working off DC power as well as batteries.  I have it all setup with presets.  However, at this time of day, I only get one shortwave radio station clearly which happens to be a religious radio station.  The AM and FM stations come in very clear.  CIO

<888> 03/07/14 Friday 6:40 A.M.  On the Grundig shortwave radio, I followed the instruction at the bottom of this page http://www.amazon.com/Grundig-Traveler-Digital-Shortwave-Storage/dp/B001QTXKF6 to turn off sleep mode.  I am now doing a Shortwave Frequency scan again which will take a while.  It seems to be doing the scan properly.

I made up http://mikelouisscott.com/mlsrice.htm without the soy sauce.  I ate half and refrigerated half in a Rubbermaid container.  I ate it with a cold chicken leg and thigh along with two 3/8th inch thick slices of cold white breast chicken meat and with steamed baby carrots cut into quarters lengthwise with Smart Balance Spread and extra virgin olive oil on the vegetables and a 12 ounce glass of Schweppes Ginger Ale and a cup of green tea with Splenda sweetener and Borden's lemon juice.  CIO

<888> 03/07/14 Friday 5:15 A.M.  The Grundig shortwave radio froze and quit working while I was scanning for shortwave radio stations.  I tried removing and replacing the batteries to no avail.  I finally noticed a small reset button on the front of the control panel, and I pressed that, and it reset the radio, and it started working again.  I scanned the AM and FM radio stations, but I did not scan the SW radio stations.  One I get the power adapter, I will try scanning for the Shortwave Radion station again.  It does pickup quite a lot of them.  CIO

<888> 03/07/14 Friday 4:10 A.M.  I moved the Eton shortwave radio to the bedroom entrance on the left side.  I put three AA CVS alkaline batteries in the Grundig shortwave radio, and I propped it up on the platform on top of the Samsung laser printer at the apartment entrance, and I connected the wire antenna to it.  I am doing a scan of short wave radio stations now.  It can automatically scan for radio stations on the different radio bands and store them into memory.  CIO

<888> 03/06/14 Thursday 11:20 A.M.  In the old days in the 1960s, when my family lived in Greenwich in near back country, we only went down once a week on Saturday evenings to get a hamburger and French fries and www.coke.com  at the Nielsen's restaurant across the street from the Greenwich Library and the Exxon Station, so I did not know very much about what went on downtown, which was not very much from what I could tell.  In the early 1970s, I worked in the same area at Boodles as an a waiter, until I started exploring nearby Manhattan.  I spent a lot of time doing house maintenance in back country and reading, when I was not going to school.  In the summer, I played a bit of golf.  I will now shut down the primary work computer, and I will eat a Greek yogurt, and then I will go to bed.  In the comments on the yogurt machine, it says all that Greek yogurt is that it has been strained through cheese cloth.  But it says, one can make a thicker yogurt by using more powdered milk in it, and one can pour the little bit of water off the top, before eating it.  I have made yogurt in the past, but the controls on the new yogurt machine let's one control the yogurt making process more evenly.  Yogurt has lots of enzymes which are good for the digestion.  CIO

<888> 03/05/14 Wednesday 1:20 A.M.  I threw out the garbage.  I picked up the mail.  On a minor point of dispute, a lot of the local night time computer people that I have been around for 23 years in Greenwich, Connecticut were involved with the local astronomy club.  When I first returned back to Greenwich, Connecticut in December 1983, I lived at 100 Milbank Avenue across the street from the Greenwich Observatory.  When I used to chat with the physicist who taught physics at www.columbia.edu for fifty years after studying at www.harvard.edu , he told me that he knew all of the major computer people and nothing would come of the internet.  I just run my home computers, the skies around here are too lousy for astronomy.  However in Canary Island, Hawaii, Chile, Argentina, and a few other locations, there are major observatories that are not obscured by the night sky.  One former Taft School classmate has spent his career at the Harvard Astrophysics observatory.  Even out in Nantucket they had a small observatory.  Thus if one gets bored of home computers, one can always look to the night skies for signs of intelligence in the universe.  Even my last address on West 74th Street in Manhattan was a few blocks west of the Museum of Natural History Planetarium.  Once one sees the night time in Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, one begins to realize why in the old days there was so much focus on the starts in our galaxy.  If one looks at http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/NPP/news/earth-at-night.html , one can figure out where there is not as much artificial light interfering with viewing the skies at night.  CIO

<888> 03/04/14 Tuesday 11:50 P.M.  Meanwhile in the slow lane of Greenwich, Connecticut, it is time to shower and clean up for the New Amsterdam Night watch.  In the old days when gasoline was cheaper, at this hour of night and early morning, one could drive into Manhattan to network with its many night owls, but that is for the younger generation.  On use to be able park on the north side of FDR Post Office Federal Building east of third Avenue at 55th Street, and after 11 P.M., one can park there.  I think Third Avenue also has metered parking, but I am not sure if it costs at night.  Of course when the local yokels in Manhattan see a Connecticut license plate on a car, they try to take one to the cleaners with all of their schemes just the way they do with Texas Tourists.  With cell phones and wireless they are even better networked today.  Also the Midtown Manhattan has 5000 surveillance cameras controlled by Microsoft software, so Big Brother is watching your every move, while one wanders around.  It was my experience over 20 years ago, when I was mugged in that area on a summer's eve, I was told by the New York City Police Department that there was nothing they could do.  http://www.pjclarkes.com/ is relatively safe in the old days, because a lot of assistant district attorneys use to hang out there with guns after work.  CIO

<888> 03/04/14 Tuesday 10:55 P.M.  You don't have to live on Round Hill Road to see all of the trophy wives shopping on Greenwich Avenue Southern Connecticut is second most ‘overpriced’ metro area, Forbes says .  Many of the Old Guard in Greenwich always shopped at the many discount outlets in Norwalk, Connecticut and other locations in this area.  If I had any money to spend on shopping at a store for various items, I might go to http://tjmaxx.tjx.com/ up on Route 7 in Wilton, Connecticut.  T.J. Max does carry clothes for fat people. http://www.marshallsonline.com/ in Stamford, Connecticut and Port Chester, New York does not have as many clothes for men, particularly fat men.  Of course it would cost more money in Texas Tea to drive to those locations.  77% of the private money in the United States of America is controlled by women over 70 years old, so that means all of the men and all of the women under 70 years old, only control 23% of the private money.  Older women also tend to be frugal frequently living on tea and toast to keep within their budgets.  CIO

<888> 03/04/14 Tuesday 10:10 P.M.  Before going to bed after the last note, I had a telephone call from http://www.lightwaveonline.com/index.html , and I renewed my internet subscription for their publication, which I never have time to read.  I went to bed, and at 3 P.M., I chatted with an associate.  I finally woke up at 9 P.M.. CIO

<888> 03/04/14 Tuesday 12:40 P.M.  I moved the Volvo wagon to its usual place.  I used my Stanley glass scraper to remove the 2013 Greenwich Parks and Recreation pass from the inside driver's left side window, and I put in the new 2014 pass in the same location.  I saved the old sticker in the glove box.  The construction people are back at work on the new freight elevator.  They fixed the hole in the wall by the downstairs elevator, but they still have to paint it.  I chatted with neighbors.  I chatted with a relative.  CIO

<888> 03/04/14 Tuesday 11:10 A.M.  I went out, and the building custodian is fixing the hole in the sheet rock by the elevator downstairs.  I drove over to the Chase Bank at 19 West Putnam Avenue.  I then by the Wells Fargo Bank on Havemayer Place, and I paid my rent to the Greenwich Housing Authority.  I then went by the Stop and Shop.  I bought two 18 ounce cans of Campbell's New England clam chowder for $1.25 each, a five quart box of Stop and Shop powdered milk for $6.49, two 12 ounce generic honey for $2.50 each, deli sliced honey cured Stop and Shop ham for $6.99 a pound for $7.20, bananas for .79 a pound for $1.19, a 59 ounce Tropicana Orange juice with calcium for $3, a four 6 ounce pack of Chaboni strawberry Greek yogurt for $4.29, a 7 ounce package of Stop and Shop deli sliced Swiss cheese for $3.59, a package of cooked popcorn chicken for $2.49, can return of .65 for $35.10 total.  I then put my groceries in the Volvo wagon.  I though about it, and since I now have the Farberware Turbo convection oven installed, I went back inside the Stop and Shop, and I bought a eight pound Purdue oven ready chicken with out the neck and giblets for $9.99.  The skinny girl in front of me was buying lots of www.perrier.com .  I then returned home, and I put away my groceries.  CIO

<888> 03/04/14 Tuesday 8:35 A.M.  I woke up at 8 A.M..  I reheated and ate a 18 ounce can of Campbell's New England clam chowder which I put some dried parsley and ground black pepper and celery salt on, and I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Schweppes ginger ale.  I made my bed.  I will now dress up warmly, and I will go out and pay my rent to the Greenwich Housing Authority.  CIO

<888> 03/04/14 Tuesday 2:25 A.M.  I got distracted with some "Constant Comment".  I took the other half Frachetta 12 inch frozen 30 ounce supreme pizza that I had already seasoned with celery salt, garlic salt, ground black pepper, Italian seasoning, grated Parmesan and Romano Cheese, and extra virgin olive oil, and I put the other half on a rectangular baking sheet.  I baked  on the lower shelf of the Farberware oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes.  I ate it with sliced two medium small tomatoes seasoned with celery salt, garlic salt, ground black pepper, Italian spices, grated Parmesan and Romano cheese and extra virgin olive oil  and a 12 ounce glass of Schweppes Ginger Ale.  CIO

<888> 03/03/14 Monday 8:15 P.M.  I threw out the garbage.  One GMC drove by with a couple of young people.  I picked up the mail.  I got my rent statement from the Greenwich Housing Authority.  I got my annual Foot Stamp renewal form from the State of Connecticut Department of Social Services.  I have to fill it out and returning with the supporting documentation by March 25, 2014.  I got the renewal form for my Greenwich, Connecticut Senior Citizen Parks and Recreation beach pass.  One can renew the pass here http://www.greenwichct.org/Government/Departments/Parks_and_Recreation/webtrac/ .  I uploaded a scanned image of my Connecticut Driver's License for Proof of Residency.  In about five days, I will be able to renew my Parks and Recreation Pass Online.  CIO

<888> 03/03/14 Monday 4:10 A.M.  I took a Frachetta 12 inch frozen 30 ounce supreme pizza, and I took it out of its packaging and removed the cardboard bottom.  I put it on a cutting board, and I seasoned it celery salt, garlic salt, ground black pepper, Italian seasoning, grated Parmesan and Romano Cheese, and extra virgin olive oil.  I cut it into quarters.  I put half in a Rubbermaid container in the refrigerator, and I put the other half on a rectangular baking sheet.  While I was removing the Sharp Convection Microwave oven and replacing it with the Farberware Turbo Convection oven, the pizza defrosted and rose.  I baked  on the lower shelf of the Farberware oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes.  That is 10 minutes less than the recommended time, but the Farberware oven is hotter and the pizza was defrosted.  I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Schweppes Ginger Ale.  There is no information on repairing the Sharp Convection Microwave oven on the internet, other than it might have two fuses.  However, if the fuses blew, that probably means something else is wrong with it.  CIO

<888> 03/03/14 Monday 2:50 A.M.  I started to cook a pizza.  After two minutes, the Sharp Convection microwave oven finally quit working for good.  I tried it on a several other plugs, but it would not come back on again.  I removed the items from on top of it, and I carried it out of the kitchen which was a hoist.  I then got my folding cart from the back of the Volvo wagon, and I rolled the Sharp Convection microwave oven down to the dumpster area.  I then put the folding cart back in the rear of the Volvo wagon.  Once I clean off the top of the refrigerator, I have the old Farberware Convection oven stored in the bedroom closet that I will put on top of the refrigerator.  I also have a new Faberware convection oven in the bedroom closet that I keep in reserve.  Thus I will once again have proper baking facilities in the kitchen again.  The Sharp Convection oven has not worked properly for over a year.  The chair in the kitchen which I keep for smoking cigarettes by the kitchen fan block me from using the GE oven, but I never cook big items anyway.  I bought the Sharp Convection oven from the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop over five years ago for $45.  New they cost around $400.  CIO

<888> 03/02/14 Sunday 6:45 A.M.  My experience in staying in an apartment near the www.un.org occasionally from October 1973 to February 1975 was that besides a lot of automobile traffic in the neighborhood, people in the apartment did not try to keep flags for various guests, but instead Fred Von Mierers kept lots of different liquors and beverages for different guests.  He had a charge account at the liquor store just north of the British Consulate.  However, for big parties he would get the liquor duty free from the Mexican consulate, so he had some sort of connection with them.  Just because Fred Von Mierers showed up in Eugina Shepard's Society column in the Daily News shaking hands with Nelson Rockefeller, did not mean Nelson was paying the bills.  I once saw Fred coming out of the Getty Museum on Labor Day in 1980, when the museum was closed, so he also had some sort of connection with them.  If Fred should still be alive, the last time I chatted with him, he was reading four to six hundred year old Chinese books, so possibly he is living in some sort of obscure Chinese hideaway.  However, it is possible that he just has relatives that look like him which confuses people.  CIO
