Note: <888> 03/31/12 Saturday 6:05 P.M.  After I saw Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip at Bloomingdales Department store on Third Avenue in Manhattan on July 5, 1976, I went back into Manhattan a couple of days later, and I parked along side the Council on Foreign Relations , and I found a four foot stack of papers in the garbage can on Park Avenue from McGeorge Bundy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia with a lot of material on the Law of the Seas Conference at the www.un.org .  There were even a few pages on Howard Hughes' Glomar Explorer submarine and the search of Magnesium Nodules on the Ocean Floor.  A friend of my mother's who father owned the British Motor Boat company looked at them out here in Greenwich, Connecticut.  I had them in the trunk of my 1966 Chevrolet Biscayne four door sedan when I went down to Florida that following winter after having visited Nantucket that summer.  The following spring in April 1977, when I returned to Nantucket, I donated the Chevrolet Biscayne and most of its contents to the Nantucket Hospital Thrift shop.   I think I threw McGeorge Bundy's paper in the garbage cans behind the Nantucket Hospital Thrift Shop on India Street, so perhaps some enterprising Nantucket person found them.  CIO

St. Patrick’s Day Parade - Town of Greenwich, Connecticut .  One problem with going to the St. Patrick's Day parade when one is older, is that with all of the people and only a couple of bathroom downtown, if one has to go to the bathroom, there is no convenient place to go to the bathroom.  Hopefully the bathrooms will be opened at the Senior and the Arts center.  With the roads blocked in downtown Greenwich, one could always explore downtown Port Chester, New York which has lots of shopping available.

Note: <888> 03/23/12 Friday 12:45 P.M.  Traditionally when gasoline was not too expensive in this area in the old days before recently Greenwich Gas Prices – Find Greenwich, Connecticut Gas Stations and Cheap Gas in CT at Automobile Magazine when I had nothing better to do, I would take a ride up North Street in Greenwich and go west on Upper Cross Road and west on Lake Avenue and Close Road to Round Hill Road, and I would drive down Round Hill Road looking at the Great Estates of Greenwich where I once lived in the old days, when a house off Round Hill Road cost about $50,000.  When I first started working with personal computers about 22 years ago, I would still drive up to New Canaan, Connecticut to explore around.  I noticed back then that New Canaan did not have a Personal computer PC-DOS shop, but they had an Apple Computer store.  With the recent profitability of www.apple.com in the computer business, there might be some newly wealthy computer people in New Canaan, Connecticut whom made money off Apple computer stock instead of PC-DOS computer stock.  New Canaan has two CVS stores in downtown New Canaan and quite a few churches.  It still is about an hour and a half commute in Manhattan each way on the MetroNorth Commuter train plus the time it takes to get from one's house in the woods to the train station.  New Canaan can be very hot in the summer since it is away from Long Island Sound and colder in the winter for the same reason.  Still it is a very nice friendly group of people up there at "God's Little Acre".  Having lived mostly in Greenwich for most of my adult life, I also have lived in New Canaan, and I found it peaceful and a bit remote.  However, New Canaan does not have a public hospital as one gets older and needs more medical attention.  New Canaan has The Karl Chevrolet Company - Stamford Chevrolet - Fairfield County Chevrolet - New Canaan, CT Chevrolet dealer , if you don't feel like buying a foreign car.  There are also some "POSH" shops and restaurants in downtown New Canaan along with the Roger Sherman Inn Fine Dining, Lodging, Banquet, Wedding, Fairfield County CT, Westchester NY, Website Design New Canaan by SKYGATE MEDIA .  The parking meters at the New Canaan train station used dollar coins, if you should need to park.  I will now shower and clean up and put foot cream on my feet.  CIO

I rested until 10 A.M..  My grandfather Clarence Scott was a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason out of the lodge in Champaign, Illinois.  My father Louis Dale Scott never became a Mason.  I never became a Mason, although I grew up around a lot of Masons and lived around them in various locations around the World.  CIO

Note: <888> 03/19/12 Monday 7:45 A.M.  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana and milk, a toasted English muffin with Smart Balance spread, a 50% to 50% glass of punch and cold filtered water with vitamins and supplements, a cup of coffee with Splenda sweetener and milk.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.

There is a local bank at the top of Greenwich Avenue called Brand Landing Page | Citizens Bank , and if I am not mistaken, they are owned by RBS - Group Global Portal and RBS Our history - fast facts and after the last worldwide economic collapse four years ago, the British Government ended up owning 84% of RBS The Royal Bank of Scotland Group - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.  Thus if you put you money in Citizens Bank on Greenwich Avenue, one is lending it to England to bring them out of debt.  Whether they will be able to repay it or not is opened to debate.  CIO

Bern's Steak House in Tampa, Florida serves it from $32.30 to $207.50, if you can afford to visit Tampa, Florida.  They also have a lot of wine Bern's Fine Wines & Spirits - Buy Wine Online including a $1,095.95 bottle of this Château Mouton Rothschild Pauillac 2005 - Bern's Fine Wines & Spirits to wash it down with.  I guess the Rothschild family a'int going bankrupt anytime soon.  CIO

Truck fire halting traffic on I-95 - The BlogJam - Connecticut News

Traffic seems to be moving now, but a lot of traffic is waiting to get off I-95 West Bound at Arch Street exit 3 ConnDOT: CCTV# 4 Greenwich NB Exit 3 - Arch St.

I walked down to the Greenwich Train Station, and I walked over to the south side of the Railroad Plaza, and I observed the traffic accident.  There was a large truck car carrier that I guess had a fire.  The exit ramp at Exit 3 west bound was closed off, and only one lane of traffic west bound was opened.  I chatted with a friend on my wireless phone, and he told me that he was watching it on television.  I then walked up Greenwich Avenue, and I used the bathroom at Starbucks.  It was not busy downtown with the I-95 traffic from the east blocked downtown.  I toured CVS, and I used the bathroom there.  Further up Greenwich Avenue, they are getting ready to open a Mexican restaurant at the Pickwick Plaza Annex and a Apple computer repair store.  The new post office behind CVS is still not opened yet.  I walked down Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out for a while.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought two 16 ounce Stouffer's stuffed peppers for $2.50 each and two 19 ounce Stouffer's lasagna with meat for $2.50 each, and four day old muffins for $2.50, and a 15 ounce bag of Stop and Shop chewy chocolate chip cookies for $2.39 less a $2 off Stop and Shop coupon and less $1 off Stouffer's coupon for $11.64 total.  I got the Stouffer's sale prices, although the sale is over, since they still had the sale signs up.  Top round eye round of beef is $3.99 a pound this week.  I then returned home, and I said good morning to some neighbors.  I put away my groceries.  CIO

Note: <888> 03/06/12 Tuesday 4:40 A.M.  I ate a 18.8 ounce can of Campbell's New England clam chowder with a Kaiser roll with Smart Balance spread and a 12 ounce glass of diet 7-UP.  I watched Episodes 3 and 4 of "A Dance Through the Music of Time".

Well at least when I am on a night schedule and when it is cold, I don't go out at night or the early morning hours, so I don't have to worry about Mountain Lions and other night critters.  However, once it gets warmer I might venture out in the earlier evening hours.  I don't go out to much in the daytime, because I am frequently on a night schedule.  Also it can be very busy around here when one is on a daytime schedule, and I don't have too much to do around here when on a daytime schedule.  Down south a lot of people are on a night time schedule, since it is cooler at night.  Older people like myself can not go to late night spots like pubs, since it would not be good for business which is meant to attract the younger crowds.  Beside I gave up drinking alcohol over 20 years ago, when I took up personal computers, and I never really drank that much anyway.  I did use to enjoy sitting in coffee shops and having a cigarette and coffee and quiet conversation, but now that people whom smoke cigarettes are shunned, it is best to stay home and relax.  Although I am no longer familiar with Wall Street, I am quite familiar with the world of personal computers for better or worse.  A writer is suppose to write from experience, but having lived on minimum income since I graduated from college in 1972 from www.lfc.edu , I have limited experience to share in my writing.  I have been mostly an observer of life while working maintaining simple routines that seem to improve my living conditions.

I remembered today, one of the reasons that I do not like driving on Interstate I-95 was that back in the summer of 1966, I was riding with three other friends in a little MG or Austin Healy roadster, and we were between exit 5 and 6 heading east, when the driver lost control of the car, and it spun around 360 degrees on the highway and continued on in the same direction, and there was a great big semi trailer truck right behind us that could have totally done us in.  Two of the three friends are still around and the fourth one moved to California.  I still have the picture of the four of us drinking in Jack Dempsey's bar on Broadway when we were only about 16 years old.  However, we were not drinking when we almost had the automobile wreck.  Of course in my life I have been more scared in some aircraft flights in the old days than anything that ever happened on the ground.  As one gets older, one tends to be more cautious.  I consider Greenwich Avenue relatively safe by New York standards, but one still has to be careful when crossing the streets, particularly when the traffic officers are not on patrol.

I will now shut down the primary work computer, and I will go to bed soon.  I will eat five chocolate cookies before going to bed.  CIO

Note: <888> 03/05/12 Monday 5:50 P.M.  In Europe where gasoline prices are over twice as high as in the United States of America Gas prices worldwide: Norwegian gas is double U.S. price - Mar. 10, 2011 ,  people drive a lot less.  However, since they drive less, they drink more alcohol, wine and beer, since they don't have to worry about being arrested for drinking and driving.   Thus as gasoline prices rise in the United States of America, more people will be probably staying home and enjoying cocktails instead of cruising the open roads.   Thus I guess investing in alcohol, wine or beer might be a good investment as gasoline prices rise in the Unites States of America.  In New York City where a lot of people do not use automobiles, there is a pub or bar every half block or so, so more than likely alcohol consumption will be going up in the Unites States of America as people drive less.  CIO

One has to face the fact, when I am awake at night and the early morning hours, I am in tune with the majority of the world that is awake during those hours unlike the minority of people that live in the Western Hemisphere.  However, since I do not have the language skills to live anywhere in the Eastern Hemisphere besides the United Kingdom, I guess I will continue to be spending my time blogging in the Western Hemisphere to the few people that seem to know English.  So many people here speak English as a second or third language, they are not as fluent as I am in Western Hemisphere English based on my 61 years of using it with a Dutch accent.  People do not talk too much in the New York City area anyway, since there are so many people and languages, if everyone talked all of the time, it would be like the old city of Babylon.
