Merry Christmas and Happy New Years,

This past year I maintained my usual quiet routine around Greenwich.  I have had all three Covid 19 vaccine shots.  I am mostly on a night schedule a lot of the time.  I have continued to work on the internet a good deal of the time.  In June I had a Kidney stone operation that took about a month to recover from.  Otherwise, my health seems to be fine.  I do not travel out of the area, but I frequently go to downtown Greenwich for shopping and to observe the local pedestrian traffic.  I have installed Windows 11 on a number of my backup computers.  I have noticed a number of new residents in our area.  I am mostly working at home anymore, so I do not make it to the newly remodeled Greenwich Library.  I have my apartment setup for the colder weather when it arrives, but we have had mild weather so far this fall.  I talk frequently with friends and family.  I guess some of my generations are trying to familiarize themselves with the internet which I feel comfortable with.   I have lost ten pounds, and I am down to 211 pounds.  I am not walking as much, but I still sit out a lot observing our local area.  There is a lot of new building going on in Greenwich, so we are becoming a small metropolis.  I do not spend much time around the waterfront anymore to save on fuel which is close to $5 a gallon.  I am not quite a vegan yet, since I try to eat a little bit of protein, when I can afford it.  We do not seem to be getting as many foreign visitors anymore, but there are still people from New York City venturing out here.  If I had any wish, it would be to get rid of the telemarketers that constantly call me up in the daytime, when I am sleeping.  I still watch television, when I eat meals and internet movies to relax.  There seems to still be a lot of traffic in this area on the nearby highway, so I guess we are still a very busy area.  I did visit with relatives a month ago.  With Covid 19 worldwide, I probably will not be traveling anymore.  Greenwich Avenue is all lighted up with Holiday Lights in the trees to make it more festive looking.  I have not yet learned to Zoom, although I have the equipment for it.  I am trying to conserve a bit of energy by not cleaning up daily but every two or three days.  I still see quite a bit of aviation traffic being in the flight path of the nearby airport.  I do sometimes get on a day schedule, when I have daytime appointments.  As I get older, the downtown population seems to be getting younger.  We still have over a half dozen coffee shops on Greenwich Avenue for the downtown shoppers and pedestrians.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years,

Michael Louis Scott
