I bought an 8 pack of Jimmy Dean frozen sausage, egg, and cheese croissants for $11.99, a three pound bag of mandarin oranges for $5, two six packs of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.50 each and a wedge Youngster Baby Swiss cheese for $5.99 a pound for $6.29 for $27.28 total. I then went by www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue. I bought for half price three 16 card boxes of Hallmark Christmas cards for $3.49 each and .66 tax for $11.13 total. I then drove down to the Board of Education parking lot, and I sat out for a while. I chatted with a friend. I then returned home. On the way home, I engaged the "W" four wheel drive button of my 2005 Volvo XC 70, and all wheel drive seems to work just fine. One has to engage it while the car is idling. I sat outside. I put away my purchases. I put the green bag back in the car, and I drank a brewed coffee outside. I filed this report. I printed out my Microsoft Money Sunset report for December 2020, and I have it ready to mail to an interested relative with a 55 cent forever stamp. This is Greenwich First Selectman Fred Camillo with an important message concerning a large storm system arriving in our area later today. The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning and a flood watch covering Greenwich from now until Friday afternoon. The most severe part of the storm should be between midnight tonight and 10 am Friday with 2 to 4 inches of rain and winds gusting to 60 to 70 miles per hour. Please ensure any items left outside are properly secured so that they do not become dangerous projectiles during the storm.
The rain combined with current snow on the ground will likely result in localized flooding. Travel on the roadways may be extremely hazardous from sundown tonight until sunrise tomorrow. This weather event is likely to cause power outages, so we are asking everyone to make preparations now for emergency lighting and alternate power for essential devices. Temperatures are expected to drop dramatically Friday night into Saturday.
We have been advised by Eversource that they have additional repair crews on standby. The Town of Greenwich has public safety, public works, and parks and rec crews on standby as well.
The Public Safety Center lobby will be open 24 hours a day as an emergency warming center. Please stay tuned to local news and the Town of Greenwich website for updated information.

I then went to the www.chase.com bank at the top of Greenwich Avenue, and I got a roll of quarters for $10. I left them between the car seats for parking. I then drove down to the Senior and the Arts Center. I went by Grannick's Pharmacy, and I bought two bottles of 60 capsule Prostate Support for $8.99 each for $17.98 total. I sat out for a while. I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com . I walked down lower Greenwich Avenue as far at the www.apple.com store and back up to the Senior and the Arts Center. I then chatted for a while with a Starbucks regular. I then went by the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought two 5 gallon bottles of Poland Spring water with bottle return for $7.99 each for $15.98 total. They have big chunks of New York Strip steak roasts for about $45 on sale. I then returned home. I used my little cart to bring up the bottle water in two trips. I sat outside a while. I then bought another 16 ounce bag of Blue Diamond smoke house almonds for $5.99 less $5 bonus bucks from the previous sale for .99 total. I then drove around downtown Greenwich. The 21st they are going to close Greenwich Avenue at night to parking for snow removal. I then took the car for a longer drive to charge up the car battery a bit. I drove to the Riverside Shopping Center plaza, and I looked at the Verizon store where the accident occurred. What is interesting is on the north side of the Verizon store is a cosmetic laser surgery store that was also damaged. Possibly a misdirected laser caused the driver to have the accident. It is just a theory. I then went to the 24 house www.mcdonalds.com at Exit 5, and I bought two $3 bundles of double cheese burgers and fries and a medium coffee with half and half and Splenda sweetener for $7.83 total. I ate the food in my car. I then returned home, and I drank the coffee outside. I filed this report. I will now go outside again. CIO

12/17/20 Thursday 3:50 A.M. I watched the first part off of Netflix of "Tomorrow Never Comes", but I quit watching it, since I had watched it before. I then watched episode 2 of "The Queen's Palaces" about Windsor Castle. It reminded me back on November 20, 1992; when Windsor Castle had the fire, I had been up a hitch hiker down the hill by Cumberland Farms. His name was Terry Beasley from Sydney, Australia. He had a half dozen garbage bags of belongings. He told me the night before, he had stayed at the Episcopal Church in Rye, New York. He was hitch hiking up to www.harvard.edu to visit a friend. I drove him along the waterfront. He though Old Greenwich looked a bit like England. I drove him as fars as www.exxon.com gasoline station in Stratford, Connecticut. He looked a bit like Prince Charles, but larger. He was quite smart. When he got out of the car, I turned on the car radio, and I heard about the fire at Windsor Castle. One of the last things he said was that Beasley was the old name for the town that Windsor Castle was located. I went outside again. It does not seem to have snowed much more, but the existing fallen snow is still blowing around. I will now shut down the primary work computer, and I will go to bed. CIO

I ate a 13 ounce Hormel roast beef pot roast and mashed potatoes and gravy meal with Smart Balance spread and a 12 ounce glass of www.coke.com Zero Sugar. To explain a bit of my after Lake Forest College www.lfc.edu connection. In the summer of 1972 when I was living with a friend in Lake Forest, Illinois; I was introduced to Hurley Harris Haywood and Robert Glore from the area. Later that fall, I drove down with Hurley, Rob, and his cousin Whitney from Wassetta, Minnesota to Jacksonville, Florida, where Hurley lived. Rob went back down to Key West. I then flew down to St. Thomas where another classmate lived and then returned back to Chicago until about Christmas Time, when I drove back east with George Cary stopping by at his family's house in East Aurora, New York and back to Boston. I then moved from Boston to Manhattan, where I lived with my sister. Hurley Haywood had me visit him at the Waldorf Towers at the first of 1973, when I saw somebody that looked like the Duke of Windsor arriving after he had died. In September 1976, I drove down to Fort Lauderdale, and when it got too cold down there, my father who worked for a Saudi Arabian front company suggested I try Key West. I first visited Key West on Halloween in 1976, and it was all boarded up except a few bars. I then returned back hitch hiking around the first of 1973, when my car was towed at the Swimming Hall of Fame in Fort Lauderdale for too many parking tickets. It was 21 degrees Fahrenheit on Thanksgiving morning in 1976 in Fort Lauderdale. Key West was getting busier. Rob Glore was down there running a craft shop across from the post office, but nobody ever saw him around except in the craft shop. Around February Jim Eldert showed up out of the University of New Hampshire with a large group of people, and we returned up north around mid April. Jim seemed to know a lot people down there. I returned to south Florida from Nantucket after Thanksgiving in 1977. I spent time in Fort Lauderdale and worked as a dish washer in Boca Raton at "La Vielle Maison" for $2.15 an hour. After a brief trip to the Bahamas in February 1978, I hitch hiked back down to Key West, and Jim Eldert was back down there with a few friends. I met John Bolton from Manhasset, Long Island who told me was the architect on the Casa Marina Hotel restoration project. We lived at the abandoned hotel, since he had a key to the building. At the time, the Marriott Corporation was restoring the Casa Marina financed by the Equitable Life Insurance Company from Chicago. John and I went north in mid April 1978 to the Appalachian Trail for a few days and then returned back to Key West until the first of May 1978, when we hitch hiked up north and took the train from Washington D.C. to this area and then back to Nantucket. I lived with John and his sister the following winter of 1979 in Daytona after driving across country and touring Southern California. I think we made one side trip that winter to Key West. In August 1980, when I drove across country with John, we stopped by Key West on the way across country. I lived around John's family in various locations, until February 1982, when it was minus 21 degrees Fahrenheit in Manhattan, and I had to move out. I flew down to Key West, but it had all changed and was quite busy, because of a false computer report, I was shipped back up north, where I built John's grandmother a garage apartment out at Plandome Manor, Long Island for ten months. After traveling to Florida and Oslo, Norway, I returned to Nantucket for the summer season of 1983, and I returned back to Greenwich after visiting Vero Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Bayonette Point, Florida and Toronto on December 13, 1983, where I have remained ever since. Greenwich, Connecticut Winter Storm Warning
Good morning. This is Greenwich First Selectman Fred Camillo with an important message concerning a major winter storm expected to impact our Town later today. The storm is expected to arrive Wednesday afternoon and depart our area by the end of Thursday. Snow is forecasted to be heavy at times with rates up to 3 inches per hour with total snowfall between 6 and 18 inches. Winds may be gusting up to 40 miles per hour and temperatures may fall to the low of 20 degrees F. Travel may be hazardous from Wednesday evening until Thursday afternoon, therefore we are asking the public to remain off the roads during that time frame for everyone’s safety and to allow our Town DPW crews to clear the roads. The winds and snow may result in power outages, so we strongly recommend that plans should be made for back-up power for critical items such as warmth and essential medical devices. Please take a moment to ensure any vulnerable family members or neighbors are adequately prepared.
As a result of the pending snow storm, the Board of Selectmen has declared a snow emergency for the Town of Greenwich effective 5pm today, Wednesday, December 16th, 2020. Cars parked on designated snow emergency routes must be moved prior to 5pm today. A list of snow emergency routes is listed on the Town’s website.
Town of Greenwich emergency responders will be on duty and ready to assist. The Public Safety Center lobby will be open 24 hours a day as an emergency warming center. Please stay tuned to local news and the Town of Greenwich website for updated information.

Back around December 1973, when I was driving with a friend from his grandfather's English manor house in Gladstone, New Jersey, the fan belt on my Volvo broke in Far Hills, New Jersey in a snow storm, and I found an opened snow mobile shop in Far Hills, New Jersey that replaced the fan belt, so we made it to a Christmas Party at the Van Voorhees on Park Avenue with a few friends. I then returned home. I put away my purchases. Not much happening in this tiny southwest corner of the third smallest state in the nation. About the biggest people I ever see here is usually the White Plains, New York fire department, when they show up for the St. Patrick's Day parade. I have seen bigger people here, but they seem to come and go with the weather. The largest people I see in grocery stores here are at Whole Foods, so I guess some of them have a bit extra money for their food budgets. CIO

I bought a five gallon bottle of Primo filtered water with minerals with bottle return for $7.49, five 9 to 11 ounce Stouffer's frozen meals for $2 each, a 50% less sugar Tropicana 59 ounce orange juice for $3, a 42 ounce Smart Balance spread for $6.99, and buy one get one free of Thomas' English muffins for $4.49 both for $31.97 total. I then drove down to the Senior and the Arts Center. I viewed a very busy Greenwich Avenue with lots of young women shopping. I viewed www.starbucks.com . I then went to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue, and I bought three 12 packs of www.coke.com Zero Sugar for $6.99 each and a 12 pack of Fresca for $6.99 less two $3 discounts on each two I bought and $2.40 can deposit and two 7 ounce white Cheez-its for $2 each for $28.36 total. I then returned home. I brought up my purchases with two trips with my little folding cart. I then put the cart and the green bag back in the car, and I drank a brewed coffee outside. 12/03/20 Thursday 4:10 A.M. This Midnight television repair goes back to the old days in the Spring of 1973, when I worked the CBS Broadcast center on West 57th Street and lived at the St. Clair residence at West 9th Street, and just west of there where there was the Ninth Circle pub with a jute box with Beatles and Beach Boys music on it and on the west side of it at half basement level, there was a 24 hour television repair shop with lots of television parts. A year later when I lived briefly in Chelsea on West 20th street, I fixed the apartment's 1954 RCA black and white television with a glass tube that I got at that TV repair shop in the early morning hours. The Samsung 49 inch television in the living room now seems to be working perfectly. Knock on Wood. I will now shower and clean up. CIO
!!!!!! 12/03/20 Thursday 3:45 A.M. Hooray, I fixed the Samsung 49 inch television audio problem. I disconnected the Samsung television from the HDMI splitter, and I put a better quality HDMI cable from the Samsung cable box to the Samsung television. It now turns on right away with audio like it should. One has to leave the right Master Control box on for power to the Samsung television. I will now go outside again. CIO
12/03/20 Thursday 2:50 A.M. I went outside, and I drank my coffee. I washed the breakfast dishes. I tried fixing the audio problem on the 49 inch Samsung television by trying it out with the bedroom cable box, but that did not fix the problem. Thus for now, one still has to turn on the right control panel red master switch and then the Samsung television, and then turn off and on the right control panel red Master switch, and the audio works on the Samsung 49 inch television. In moving the bedroom cable box, I broke its coaxial cable, so I put a new coaxial cable on it, thus the bedroom signal is even better. For the bedroom cable box to work off HDMI 1 on the Vizio left television, one has to turn on the white power strip to turn on the HDMI splitter. The bathroom television also seems better. I will now go outside and drink a brewed coffee. CIO

12/02/20 Wednesday 1:15 P.M. On the Samsung 49 inch television, I moved the LG sound bar to the right on top of the Xerox laser printer. When the LG sound bar is turned on the Amazon music app on the Samsung 49 inch television sounds full fidelity for easy listening. I will now shut down the primary work computer, and I will go to bed. I guess I will be back to more of "Midnight Mike". When I was younger, I used to like sneaking out in the early morning hours to listen to discothèque music and seeing the people getting off the late shift trying to wind down. CIO
12/02/20 Wednesday 12:35 P.M. I ate a 9 ounce Hormel spaghetti and tomato sauce meal with grated Parmesan cheese and a 12 ounce glass of www.coke.com Zero Sugar. I took the LG sound bar off the right television in the bedroom, and I hooked it up to the Samsung 49 inch television. I have the Samsung television set to TV speakers, but the LG sound bar also plays too. One turns on the power to the LG sound with the right white power strip second switch to the left. The same audio problems still happen with the sound bar too, so one still has to turn off an on the Master Control red switch on the right control panel. Also the LG sound bar partially block the IR remote sensor, so one has to stand up to get direct line of site to the IR remote control sensor. I will now go outside again. CIO
12/02/20 Wednesday 11:50 A.M. There is a slight clich on the 49 inch Samsung television. Sometimes, when one first turns on the master switch for the right control panel to turn on the Cable Box and the HDMI splitters, and then turns on the Samsung television, the audio does not work. However, a quick fix it to turn off and on the red master switch on the right control panel, and then the audio works. I could try hooking up a sound bar to it, but for now, I think that is good enough. CIO

12/01/20 Tuesday 1:35 P.M. The building custodian is still working on repairing the bath tub plumbing. Apparently, the bath tub faucet was leaking when turned off and dripping a bit of water on the strips that I put in and running down to the spot where the small puddle was showing up on the bathroom floor. He told me he should be able to repair it. I spent most of the time outside. I chatted with a relative and a friend. After 31 years, it might be leaking a little bit. The building custodian is supposed to be here at 8:30 A.M. to check it out. CIO

The night maintenance person showed up and checked out the hot water tank above the bathroom sink, and there appears to me no leaks around the hot water tank or the bathroom ceiling area. The maintenance person will check it some more in a little while. Possibly it is the bath water pipes in the wall between the bath tub and the sink area. I went outside. I picked up the clean bath mats which are now dry. I will now go outside and drink another brewed coffee. CIO

I am not sure whether or not it is the hot water tank or not or some other leak from the storm yesterday. I called it in to the Greenwich Housing Authority to check it out as soon as possible. I am washing the throw rugs in the bathroom that got wet. I went outside again. CIO
