Note: <888> 11/30/04  Tuesday 12:30 P.M.:  I ran the maintenance utilities on the primary computer.  I showered and cleaned up.  I chatted with a neighbor.  I went out about 8 P.M..  I went downtown, and I walked upper Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out at various locations.  I stopped by and viewed the lobby of http://www.bankofamerica.com/ on Greenwich Avenue.  My father use to bank in the bank with the green dome, when it was called the First National Bank of Greenwich. I chatted with one of the officers.  I used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center.  I then drove down by the waterfront.  I then went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop.  I bought a multicolor golf umbrella for $3.  I put the umbrella on the umbrella tray behind the rear seat in my Volvo station wagon.  I then went by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street.  I used the bathroom downstairs by the vault.  I did some other banking transactions like getting parking quarters for parking downtown.  I then went back downtown, and I went by the Merry Go Round Mews thrift shop.  They have a number of items there.  I noticed a very nice worsted wool Dunhill black pin strip suit size 40L for $40.  They have a fainting couch for $200, a pair of ornate Italian palazzo sitting chairs for $500 apiece.  They took in a carved wood mirror which is not yet priced.  I noticed for some reason, they had a HP LaserJet 6P printer like I have for a backup laser printer for $150.  I think $25 would be more realistic, since one can buy new laser printers which are faster for $100.  I then walked lower Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out briefly downtown.  I returned home.  I chatted with a neighbor.  I picked up my mail.  I received my automobile registration renewal, and I have to pay by mid January 2005 $75 for the registration and $10 for the emissions fee for $85 total.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/29/04  Monday 1:35 P.M.:  I picked up my mail downstairs.  I put three teaspoons of olive oil and two pads of margarine in my 10 inch omelet pan, and I heated it over medium high electric heat, and once the fat began to bubble, I lowered it to a little lower than medium.  I had already broken three eggs in a metal bowl, and I added a couple of tablespoons of milk, and I mixed it altogether with a whisk.  I added the egg mixture to the omelet pan, and I let it heat until it was solid enough to flip over.  I then flipped it over with a spatula.  I then let it heat a little more until that side was cooked a little bit and it was puffy.  I then slid it on to a microwave proof plate, and I added two large sliced plum tomatoes sliced into 3/16 inch thick slices and 4 triangle slices 3 inches at the base 5 inches high by 3/32th inch thick slices of Norwegian Jarlsberg cheese, and I seasoned it with Italian seasoning, and I put it all in the General Electric microwave oven with a microwave cover, and I heated it on reheat for half of the reheat time to melt the cheese and warm the tomatoes.  I then slid the open face omelet on another plate and sprinkled it with grated parmesan cheese.  I also added two slices of toast with two slices each of margarine, and I cut the toast in half.  I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.  I wipe the omelet pan with a paper towel after cooking, so it remains seasoned instead of washing it, which would wash off the seasoning.  I then ate a piece of pecan pie, and I refrigerated the remaining pecan pie like the box suggested.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/29/04  Monday 11:55 A.M.:  I went out after the last message, and I saw our garbage truck removing the dumpster contents with the old computer items I threw away.  I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out at various locations.  I stopped by CVS during the walk.  Solid white albacore tuna fish is on sale for .99 a can.  I was told by a Greenwich town employee that Torrington, Connecticut TORRINGTON, CONNECTICUT is economically depressed, and people are living in buses up there.  I suppose once one gets out of this area, the reality of the less prosperous New England economy becomes real.  I noticed that in the window of the Korean grocery store the Greenwich Produce company just south of the Greenwich Post Office, there is a sign saying they are going out of business due to the poor economic conditions in this area.  I next drove down by the waterfront, and the construction tent that blew into Steamboat Road yesterday has been removed from Greenwich Capital Markets www.gcm.com owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland www.rbs.co.uk .  I next went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop.  They still have lots of Christmas merchandise.  One never knows what one will find there.  I then went by the Greenwich Library, and the Greenwich Time www.greenwichtime.com was not available.  I then went by the Arnold bread outlet, and I bought a Entenmann's 22 ounce Pecan pie for $1.79 and a loaf of Arnold Natural 100% whole wheat oat bread for $2.19 for $3.98 total.  I then returned home.  I drank some iced tea.  I chatted with a relative.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/29/04  Monday 6:40 A.M.:  I put three quarts of water in a five quart Revere pot, and I added a teaspoon of olive oil, and a few dashes of salt.  I brought it to a boil with the lid on it, and I put in a 16 ounce box of Stop and Shop vermicelli, and I boiled it for 6 minutes without the lid.  While boiling the Vermicelli, I put a half of a 26 ounce jar of Newman's Own roasted garlic and tomato sauce in a microwave proof plastic pot, and I put the lid on it, and I heated it on the Reheat cycle.  I drained the vermicelli in a colander, and I put half of it on a dinner plate, and I added the heated sauce, and I added a thin layer of grated parmesan cheese.  I refrigerated the other half of the sauce in the jar and the other half of the vermicelli in a Rubbermaid container.  I ate the meal with a glass of iced tea.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will clean up, and I will go out.  The current weather is Weather Underground: Greenwich, Connecticut Forecast .  CIO

Note: <888> 11/28/04  Sunday 10:00 A.M.:  I chatted with a relative.  I watched some television including the last 15 minutes of www.hourofpower.org which is on our local cable television system cable system on channel 45 from 8 A.M. to 9 A.M. on Sunday morning.  I met Dr. Schuller about 18 years ago, when he was signing a books at the Stamford, Connecticut mall.  I recall there were a lot of women there from the Dutch Reform Church in Rye, New York.  Dr. Schuller's wife Arvella Schuller is on the board of trustees of Hope College www.hope.edu where my mother's family is from in Holland, Michigan.  There are quite a few Dutch reform churches in Holland, Michigan.  I recall my mother's family use to go the 3rd Dutch Reform church which was near my Grandmother Boven's home.  I have seen Dr. Schuller's son Robert Schuller Junior in the Greenwich Library before, but whenever I see him, I think he is Brian Williams from N.B.C. since they look a bit the same, but I think Robert Schuller Junior is taller.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/28/04  Sunday 8:10 A.M.:  I went out after the last message.  I went by the Exxon gasoline station next to the Greenwich Library, and I bought $7 of premium gasoline at $2.479 a gallon for 15.9 miles per gallon usage averaging driving 13 miles per hour around town.  I then went downtown, and I started to walk Greenwich Avenue, but it started raining, and I cut short my walk after a half of block.  It is too windy to use an umbrella.  I drove down on Steamboat Road, and at about 7 A.M., the road is block by the steel pole frame construction tent with plastic on it that is about 100 feet long by 20 feet wide that was blown off of the front courtyard of Greenwich Capital Market www.gcm.com owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland www.rbs.co.uk .  It is blocking most of the road, and the steel frame would easily weigh over more than several tons.  The steel frame tent is being used to protect the brick repaving project in the courtyard of Greenwich Capital Markets.  I did not see any police there, but I am sure they know since there is always security in the reception area of Greenwich Capital Markets.  I then returned home.  I came upstairs, and my sunglasses were missing, so I went back downstairs, and I found them in my car.  I chatted with a neighbor.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/28/04  Sunday 5:50 A.M.:  I made and ate my usual salad www.geocities.com/mikelscott/salad.htm .  Instead of tuna fish, I used two 3/8th inch thick slices of the Butterball boneless white turkey breast that I cut into half inch wide strips, about one to two inches long.  I also used three artichoke hearts that I cut into quarters.  For the cheddar cheese portion, I used Stop and Shop Swiss cheese.  I used all of the other regular ingredients.  I ate the salad with a glass of iced tea.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will clean up, and I will go out.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/28/04  Sunday 4:15 A.M.:  I thought about it, and the French reproduction antique chair is a truly comfortable chair despite its skinny carved wooden arms, so I went outside, and I brought it back up to my apartment.  I put it where it was before to the right of the long mahogany bureau in the living room at the hallway entrance.  I put the white quilted slip cover back on it with the New Zealand sheep's skin on top of that and the small throw pillow that says, "With my Luck, When my Ship Comes in, I will be at the Airport."  I moved the Uniden cordless telephone to the right open drawer of the living room desk drawer, and I took the generic corded white phone off, and I put it underneath the bedroom bed, since it did not seem to work.  I move the small brass and marble lamp onto the small mahogany tea table.  I put the two small brass and glass end tables in front of the DeLonghi oil filled radiator in front of the Danish bar, and I moved the large brass and glass coffee table further down against them.  I put the third new office chair that I had where the French antique reproduction chair is, and I put it in between the two sofas at the sitting area entrance closer to the long green sofa, so there is about a two foot entrance space between it and the new sofa and in front of the brass and glass coffee table.  Thus assuming three people to each sofa, and three office chairs, and the French chair, I have ten comfortable sitting places in my living room besides the computer swivel chair, and three dining room table bent oak chairs.  If I ever turn on the DeLonghi oil filled radiators, I would have to move the items a bit around them.  However, it all looks fine, and it is a comfortable setup.  Thus the items that I got rid of cost me about $328.25.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/28/04  Sunday 3:00 A.M.:  I just checked outside, and the computer items are still in the dumpster.  The two mahogany end tables have been retrieved, but the magazine rack and the French reproduction antique chair are still there.  The French reproduction antique chair has thin carved wooden arms, and I clued the left arm back together when it broke, and its yellow brocade fabric is dirty.  It is similar to the furniture that Richard Wheelwright use to make and was used by the United States State department.  It is heavily upholstered with lots of springs and stuffing.  Today new it would probably cost about $2,000.  One can not lift it by the arms, or they might break again.  One lifts it by the seat.  It weighs about 60 pounds and is about 30 inches wide by 30 inches high by about 24 inches deep.  It was obviously made for a large individual.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/28/04  Sunday 2:35 A.M.:  I went to bed after the last message.  I had a telephone call from a friend at about 5 P.M..  I woke up at 10 P.M., and I ate breakfast of oatmeal, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I went back to bed until 1:30 A.M..  I took off three LAN cables from the bedroom hub, and I put them on top of the cable box underneath the living room desk.  The two LAN cables not connected to the two bedroom computers, I coiled and secured them with wire ties, so they are available for use with laptops.  The items that I threw out yesterday originally cost me $15 about 13 years ago for the French reproduction antique chair, $10 each recently for each of the mahogany end tables, $2.50 for the magazine rack, and the maple side table cost me $10 about a year ago at a tag sale, and I put about $10 of Stanley angle irons on it to reinforce the legs, and the American Academic Encyclopedia set cost about $5.75.  The two old HP computers were free as was the keyboard drawer, and one of them had a $10 LAN card in it.  The old AMD 233 MHz computer was about $230 seven years ago for the case, motherboard, memory, LAN card and CPU.  Two of the Dell 17 inch monitors cost $10 at the Greenwich Hospital thrift shop, and the third Dell 17 inch Trinitron monitor was $20.  Thus I threw out about $343.25 of items at my cost, when I purchased them.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/27/04  Saturday 2:40 P.M.:  I did one thing before going to bed.  I took the bent oak chair out of the kitchen, and I put it to the right of my bedroom desk next to the bed.  I then retrieved the small wooden chair from the dumpster which is more comfortable with its seat and back cushion, and I put it next to the stove in the kitchen to have a more comfortable smoking chair in the kitchen.  The maple side table has already been retrieved from the dumpster area.  I chatted with a relative.  Now I will go to bed.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/27/04  Saturday 1:30 P.M.:  I will now shut down the computer, and I will go to bed soon.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/27/04  Saturday 1:15 P.M.:  I have been a bit busy.  I went out after the last message, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I sat out at various locations.  I then drove by the lower parking garage train station dumpster, and there were three maple wood office chairs with purple upholstery in the dumpster.  I put one in the back of my Volvo station, and then I drove down by the waterfront.  I though about it, and I figured I could get the other two chairs in my Volvo station wagon if I put the rear seat down, so I put the rear seat down.  I then returned to the dumpster, and I was able to get the other two chairs in the Volvo station wagon.  I then returned home.  I brought the chairs upstairs outside of my apartment outside in the hallway.  Over the next four hours, I took out the French reproduction sitting chair with the mended arm, the maple side table, two mahogany end tables, the small wooden chair, the magazine rack, three Dell 17 inch monitors, and the two HP computers and the oldest AMD 233 MHz computer, and a computer keyboard drawer.  I put the computer items in the dumpster, and I left the furniture besides the dumpster. I threw out in the dumpster the set of American Academic Encyclopedias which were missing the I volume.  I also threw out all of my periodical literature.  I slid my newer sofa back, so it is about 2.5 feet away from the closet doors and five feet away from the opposite sofa.  I centered the brass and glass coffee table in between them.  I put my two long folding beach chair and my directors chair in front of the stereo bookcase, and then I put one of the three office chairs in front of them.  I put the oak folding tables at the bedroom door entrance. I put the two foot Christmas tree on the center of the brass and glass coffee table.  I put another of the three office chairs where the French reproduction chair was to the right of the long mahogany bureau.  I put the New Zealand sheep's skin throw over it.  I put the third office chair perpendicular to the new sofa, so it faces the kitchen entrance at the apartment entrance.  I put the mahogany tea table at the end of the new sofa next to the new office chair.  I put the big button and the two cordless telephones and the answering machine on it.  I put the remaining 19 inch monitor from the side table in the bedroom to the right side on the bedroom desk.  I stored my automobile parts and accessories underneath the side table in the bedroom along with the computer mice and keyboards.  I put the cables from the computer items that I threw away on top of the cable box underneath the living room desk.  I put the small flags on the side table in the bedroom with 2.25 million watt rechargeable lantern.  I reorganized the remaining bric-a-brac, so it makes some sense.  I put the small brass and marble pedestal lamp on the near side small brass and glass end table.  I put the wire CD rack in front of the Danish bar and the DeLonghi oil filled radiator in front of the Danish bar too.  In one turns on the DeLonghi oil filled radiator, one should move the wire CD rack further away.  I put my knit caps, scarves, and gloves on the right side of the side table in the bedroom.  I used my small cart from the back of the Volvo for bringing down the computer items.  I put the throws from the French reproduction chair in plastic bags in the false ceiling above the bed in the bedroom.  The apartment living room now looks a lot more spacious, and the bedroom looks a bit less cluttered.  In the future I still have to sift through some more items.  I made a number of trips outside doing all of this.  I picked up my mail.  I am now keeping the new periodical material on the bookcase in the bathroom.  I ate a piece of pumpkin pie with whipped cream and drank a glass of iced tea.  CIO

End of Scott's Notes week of 11/27/04:

Note: <888> 11/27/04  Saturday 4:10 A.M.:  I cut a individual servings worth of broccoli crowns in smaller pieces, and I heated them in a microwave proof plastic pot with lid on the vegetable cycle of the General Electric microwave oven.  I cut two 1/2 inch thick slices of the Butterball white meat boneless turkey breast, and I put them on a microwave proof dinner plate, and I added the remaining mushroom gravy and the remaining cooked rice and the remaining Stove top stuffing, and I put the plate with the food with a microwave lid on top of it in the microwave oven, and I heated it all on the Reheat cycle.  I then put the hot plate on another plate.  I strained the broccoli, and I put it in a bowl with a teaspoon of olive oil, and I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.  I will now send out my weekly notes.  I will then shower and clean up, and I will go out for a walk.  My electric blanket has shipped via UPS www.ups.com in two separate packages, but there are no shipping details yet.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/27/04  Saturday 2:25 A.M.:  After the last message, I went outside, and I threw out some garbage.  I chatted with a neighbor.  I did my vacuuming.  I ate a piece of pumpkin pie with whipped cream.  I went to bed.  At 10:30 A.M. a friend called up.  I microwaved and ate a bag of ACT II microwave popcorn.  I went back to bed.  At 3 P.M. I chatted with a relative.  I woke up at 8 P.M., and I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I chatted with a relative.  I watched some television.  I went back to bed until midnight.  I started two loads of laundry, and I have 35 minutes to go on the dry cycle.  I put clean linens on the bed in the bedroom.  I only have the heat turned on in the living room.  I generally do not turn the heat on in the bedroom unless it gets very cold.  I am warm enough with my comforter on the bed, and when I get the electric blanket, I will be warmer.  I do not turn on the heat in the bathroom.  I keep a Lasko box fan going on low on the living room window shelf do blow heat out into the room instead of having it rise into the false ceiling with six feet of air space above it.  I noticed when I removed the television cablevision wall plate to check its connections that there does seem to be insulation in the walls, but there are probably areas where it leaks.  I have the air conditioner and the area around it insulated with styrofoam, and the one winter that I took it out, it was not any warmer or cheaper.  Also we have single pane windows.  We do have thick brick exterior walls, but a lot of the masonry is cracked, so the cold wind blows into the walls.  However having lived here for the last 16 years, I am use to it.  The first eight years, the electric heat was included in the rent, but for the last eight years, we have had to pay for the electric heat, so I keep it cooler.  Also last January 2004, the www.cl-p.com electricity rate went up 12% and it is now going up another 17%.  Of course I have low blood pressure, so when I go to bed, I tend to feel colder whatever the room temperature until I finally get enough sleep and wake up.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/26/04  Friday 5:00 A.M.:  I went out after the last message.  I went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue including the train station area, and I sat out at various locations.  The wind had thrown some foam insulation boards that are being thrown out in front of Victoria's Secret, and they were all over the sidewalk, so I stacked them in two separate piles, so the sidewalk is now clear.  I could have brought them home to put in my windows to insulate them, but Styrofoam does burn, so it would be a fire hazard, so I will not try to use the material, although it would make it warmer in my apartment.  I met the owner of the building that Victoria's Secret is in about 15 years ago, and he is a wealthy Greek that bought the property and built the building, but I am not sure if he still owns it or not.  I next drove down by the waterfront.  I noticed the last office building on the right on Steamboat Road has a large "For Rent" sign in its windows.  I am not sure if it is the entire building or just some office space.  They do have a dock on the harbor as well as a patio though for summer enjoyment.  I next stopped by the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street.  I then returned home, and I drank some iced tea.  I went to Save on the Dream Suite Automatic Warming Blanket at SmartBargains.com , and I ordered the electric blanket in full size in Ecru color for $27.98 plus $6.95 shipping for $34.93 total.  Until Sunday www.smartbargains.com offers free shipping on orders over $50.  I will be a little low on money at the end of the month, but as it gets colder here, I figure it is worth having an electric blanket on the bed in the bedroom as well as a comforter.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/26/04  Friday 1:35 A.M.:  I cut a individual servings worth of broccoli crowns in smaller pieces, and I heated them in a microwave proof plastic pot with lid on the vegetable cycle of the General Electric microwave oven.  One can get the microwave proof cookware at www.walmart.com .   I cut two 17/32nds thick slices of the Butterball white meat boneless turkey breast, and I put them on a microwave proof dinner plate, and I added half of the remaining mushroom gravy and half of the remaining cooked rice and half of the remaining Stove top stuffing, and I put the plate with the food with a microwave lid on top of it in the microwave oven, and I heated it all on the Reheat cycle.  I then put the hot plate on another plate.  I strained the broccoli, and I put it in a bowl with a teaspoon of olive oil, and I put the remaining half can of Ocean Spray whole cranberry sauce in a bowl, and I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.  I will now shower and clean up, and I will go out for a walk.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/25/04  Thursday 7:05 A.M.:  I went out after the last message.  I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I sat out at various locations.  It seems to have cleared a bit, and it is quite nice out.  I noticed that starting at 5 A.M. on this Friday morning after Thanksgiving www.kbtoys.com is having a sale.  Also www.radioshack.com also has a sale on the Friday after Thanksgiving.  I enjoyed looking at all of the Christmas decorations on Greenwich Avenue.  After my walk, I drove down by the waterfront, but there were no fishermen there.  One would think with the warmer weather, they would be fishing.  I next stopped by Cumberland Farms www.cumberlandfarms.com on West Putnam Avenue on the Port Chester Greenwich border, and I bought a 7 ounce container of Garelick Farms light whipped cream for $2.39.  I noticed across the street, they are building a new office building or apartment complex just east of the Perrier headquarters if they are still there.  I chatted with a neighbor.  I then ate a piece of pumpkin pie with some of the whipped cream on it along with a glass of iced tea.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/25/04  Thursday 3:00 A.M.:  Basically in the time it took to cook a Mrs. Smith's frozen pumpkin pie, I made and ate my Thanksgiving dinner.  I cooked the Mrs. Smith's 2 pound 5 ounce pumpkin pie in the Farberware convection oven putting it on a baking sheet at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 55 minutes.  It now has to sit for 2 hours.  If I go out sometime soon, I will pick up some whipped cream at Cumberland Farms just across the border on West Putnam Avenue in Port Chester, New York.  While doing that I made up a batch of rice the usual way with the China Village rice steamer.  I put a 17 ounce can of Swanson's chicken broth in a pot with four tablespoons of butter and a teaspoon of Italian spices, and I brought it to a boil, and then I put in the 15 ounce package of Kraft www.kraft.com Stove Top Stuffing let it stand for five minutes off the heat, and then I fluffed it with a fork before serving.  I took a 10.5 ounce can of Franco American mushroom gravy, and I put it in a sauce pan, and I added ten 1/4 inch thick sliced medium to large mushrooms, and I heated it over medium heat with a lid under the mushrooms shrank.  While the rice was sitting for five minutes after cooking, I put in a microwave proof plastic pot with lid a half of a cup of water and one large service of broccoli crowns cutting into smaller pieces, and I heated it on the vegetable cycle on the General Electric microwave oven.  After that was done, I cut two 3/8th inch thick slices of the Butterball www.butterball.com boneless breast of white turkey meat which is already cooked, and I put them on a microwave proof plate with a microwave lid, and I heated them on the Reheat cycle for about three minutes.  I then served on a different dinner plate, one third of the rice, one third of the stuffing, the two turkey slices with one third of the mushroom gravy on them and in a separate bowl the broccoli with a teaspoon of olive oil on it, and in another bowl a half of a 15 ounce can of www.oceanspray.com whole cranberry sauce.  I ate it all with a glass of iced tea, and I just finished the dishes, and I am letting the pie cool.  Local weather calls for rain and thunderstorms today Weather Underground: Greenwich, Connecticut Forecast ,although it will be warmer.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/25/04  Thursday 1:15 A.M.:  Happy Thanksgiving Day.  I went out after the last message.  I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I sat out at various locations.  The local youth were using the local pubs.  The wind is out of the south, and it is currently raining, but today Thanksgiving Day should be warmer and clear.  There usually are a large number of volunteers on Central Park West in Manhattan blowing up the large cartoon character balloons for the New York Thanksgiving Day parade, so with the wind and the rain, they would be having additional problems stabilizing the balloons.  I am thinking about preparing my Thanksgiving Day meal in a little while instead of Friday morning when I am awake.  I will probably wake up tomorrow evening during today, but I would not be eating my primary meal until Friday morning.  Thus in a little while, I will prepare and eat my Thanksgiving Day meal.  Before I went out, I ate a Celeste 7 ounce Deluxe pizza with some iced tea.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/24/04  Wednesday 9:45 P.M.:  I was up at 5 P.M., and I ate breakfast of a oatmeal with a sliced banana, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I went downstairs, and I threw out some garbage.  I then picked up my mail.  I next went to bed until 9 P.M..  According to this it is raining, but at the moment it is clear Weather Underground: Greenwich, Connecticut Forecast Wednesday .  I suppose I could clean up and go out.  However, it depends on the conditions at the time I get out there as to whether I will take a walk or not.  Last night there was nothing going on except for the local youth hanging out at some of our local pubs which is par for the course during the Thanksgiving Holidays.  I suppose tomorrow night on Thanksgiving night the family people will be going to the movies.  Realistically not much ever happens in the suburbs, but since people maintain large complex homes, it keeps them busy doing their chores.  I guess I will be having my Thanksgiving meal late tomorrow night since I seem to be on a later schedule.  I frequently go to a later schedule at the end of the month when I am low on funds, and it does not cost to much money to go downtown for a walk.  However, my apartment is like my bank, and I am comfortable, and I have enough non perishable foods, so I never complain.  However, not many people in this area seem to be awake on a later schedule anymore, since it costs so much to live here, they have to keep busy working in the day time.  Thus on my schedule, I feel more like the Maytag repair man.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/24/04  Wednesday 7:55 A.M.:  One can order the Abercrombie and Fitch http://www.abercrombie.com/ catalog free online at http://www.abercrombie.com/anf/onlinestore/html/catalog.html .  The kids in the catalog look more like the kids that I grew up with, since most of my friends were the outdoors types.  This dude I am sure will be popular at the Winter Olympics Abercrombie & Fitch Stars on the Rise which are next suppose to be in Turin, Italy in 2006 INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE - WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES, TURIN, ITALY .  When I was last in Albertville, France in 1992, I mentioned when I was in Chamonix, it might be nice to travel through the St. Bernard Pass from Switzerland to Italy.  Italy can be a very colorful and festive country, but alas I don't think it is as cheap now as it was when I visited in 1972.  However a pack of Marlboros back then in Italy was about $5, when French cigarettes were about $2 and a Fiasco of Chianti was $3 and a weeks stay at the Pension Adria at the Santa Trinita bridge in Firenze, Italia with continental breakfast and five course dinner was $40 plus the cost of wine.   Of course one had to put a 100 lire coin about 16 cents back then at 585 lire to the dollar in the bath hot water heater for about three minutes of spray hot water in the tub.  A cappuccino with cream filled pastry was about a dollar.  A train ride to Rome from Florence was about $20.  A borcellino hat was about $2.  Dinner at lunch time was about $3 and dinner late at night at one of the late night restaurants was about $4.  The more enterprising youth in Florence would put down black felt clothes on the Ponte Vecchio, and sell gold trinkets.  Since there was very little crime in the area, the felt secure in displaying their gold on the street.  However, the population is fairly dense in the old part of the city in the daytime everyone is watching everyone like something out of a Machiavellian script.  However at night when there is no Fiat automobile www.fiat.com or www.alfaromeo.com traffic, one can walk about the Renaissance streets in the early morning hours, and only see the spray cannon street cleaning machine which also washes off the cars.  If the street cleaner sees you, he will turn off the spray when he passes by.  If he does not see you, you get a free shower.  I frequently have told people their street cleaning machines do a better job of cleaning the streets, since they wash down everything every night including the fronts of buildings, cars, sidewalks, streets, and whatever else is left outside.  Alas, I am not to good at standing out in cold mountainous areas anymore, so more than likely I will not be making it to Turin, Italy, also because of lack of funds.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/24/04  Wednesday 6:55 A.M.:  I just microwaved and ate a Celeste 7.26 ounce Suprema pizza, which I ate with a glass of iced tea.  We all know that www.chase.com bought www.jpmorgan.com .  Two days ago, I saw somebody walking around looking like he should be the chairman of J.P. Morgan Chase.  He looked like he had eaten half the Angus cattle in Scotland, but more than likely he can afford Lipitor www.lipitor.com after all the beef he looks like he has eaten.  Of course by fat people's standard, he is still small because he can still walk around easily.  J.P. Morgan Private Banking has an office next to the Greenwich Police station on Mason street, so more than likely the head of J.P. Morgan shows up occasionally.  He actually looks more like a Morgan than a Texas cattle baron, but whatever the case since we know the Morgan family were once pirates, they more than likely would be able to spend some money in our locally depressed economy.  Of course the Morgan Bank still has an office in London, and I am not sure if that was acquired by Chase or not.  From what I can tell the local economy is in a downturn, since the price of fuel is so high.  Also I was told by the night manager of Starbucks on Greenwich Avenue that they would be opened on Thanksgiving Day, but I am not sure what hours.  Usually the Versailles restaurant next to Starbucks is open and as usual the Glory Days diner on the Boston Post Road is always open.  Rue de Croissant has a "Cease Work" order in their window on their remodeling project, so possibly they did not have the right building permits.  They are also remodeling the Texaco gasoline station at Arch Street and Railroad Avenue.  According to the Greenwich Time http://www.greenwichtime.com/ about six months ago that gasoline station as well as the Shell station at Sherwood Place and East Putnam Avenue and the Exxon gasoline station next to the Greenwich Library are owned by a wealthy Texas oil individual whom acquired them a long time ago.  The individual thought they were over accessed at their $350,000 value, so perhaps the individual has not been here in a long time.  More than likely the individual or company would have other oil interests.  Somebody else told me the Volpe family owned them, but the Volpes might just keep an eye on them.  I believe the Volpe family are in the highway construction business, since they built a great deal of the Interstate Highway System with the Volpe construction company out of Boston, Massachusetts.  Volpe was Dwight Eisenhower's Secretary of Transportation, and there is a Volpe http://www.volpe.dot.gov/ National Transportation Systems Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts, so more than likely they travel around and see more.   CIO

Note: <888> 11/24/04  Wednesday 5:45 A.M.:  In my formative years in Decatur, Alabama before I moved here in 1961, I use to use the Carnegie Library in Decatur, Alabama which had lots of sea novels since Decatur was named after Stephen Decatur a United States Navy admiral famous for fighting the Barbary pirates off the North African coast.  In reading the many sea novels, it seemed a great many treasures were always being lost at sea including gold, thus I was never really too interested in looking for gold if it only ends up getting lost anyway.  With my friends in Decatur, Alabama at the southwest side of the Walter Jackson grade school play ground we did find petrified dinosaur eggs and in the stream beds south east of Decatur, we found lots of Indian artifacts including Indian arrow heads.  I used to use my grandfather Boven's Indian Head pennies that my mother had saved to buy penny candy at the local candy store down the road from our house.  I once found a V nickel in the dirt around our house.  However, at the moment although most people think that America has been sifted and sorted through thoroughly over the last half of a millennium, it is such a large continent and people are always in such a rush, there is always no telling what one might find on a more closer examination of this continent.  Still as I told a couple of friends from a church group in Sea Island, Georgia on a hot June day before "911", I had been all over the United States and there is nothing worth stealing from a military point of view.  It was my viewpoint after our country going overseas frequently during this century, that since we can not really afford to fight long wars overseas indefinitely, the next time the aggressive powers would probably be coming here, and we would have to defend our country here.  Of course it is hard to put a value on Freedom and Liberty unless one knows what slavery and oppression is.  I dare say most Americans would fight at home for their Freedom and Liberty, so any outside aggressors would have a very difficult time of it.  I recall Eleanor Roosevelt in planning the defense of the United States during World War II in case we were invaded wanted all of our citizens to plant Poison Ivy around the churches and to put Golden Rod in all of the public buildings, so I guess having been exposed to both in Alabama, the new arrivals having just arrived here have lots to learn about the American way of life.  I dare say some of the more fundamental American Indians are still hiding secrets from the long term European American residents.  We do know a lot of the American Indians and the African slaves were cannibals, so maybe that is why there are so many missing people.  Of course we still also have dangerous wildlife in the Americas too, so it is better to stay near the cement sidewalks and urban areas.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/24/04  Wednesday 4:45 A.M.:  The Australian waterproof matches were in a match box with orange, black, and white lettering, and I though they would be useful for lighting a cigarette on a rainy day in Nantucket.  My identification at the time showed that I was resident of New Canaan, Connecticut where the Chief of Police also had the last name Scott.  When I returned back from California, there were quite a few Californians working around the Shell station next to the train station in New Canaan, and that winter which was very cold, there were also Hawaiians with lots of body fat working at the Mobil gasoline station on the Merritt parkway in New Canaan.  However, at the time the area was still in major recession, and although I attended Ronald Reagan's first inaugural at my own expense, it was not until I returned from Nantucket in December 1983 about 21 years ago to this area that this area started to improve financially, lest we forget.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/24/04  Wednesday 4:30 A.M.:  Over the last three hours, I also ate seven black licorice twists.  I recall in the Jan Sport day pack, I think besides the other items mentioned, I had a pair of Lee blue jeans, a pink and a blue LaCoste http://www.lacoste.com/ polo shirt, my Greek fisherman's blue and white shirt that Joel gave me in Laguna Beach, California.  I think I put the five ounce Swiss Credit gold bar that was numbered inside a box of Australian waterproof matches, and I think I also had another box of Australian waterproof matches which I found at a camp store in Laguna Beach when I bought the Jan Sport day pack.  I also had a pair of long underwear knit bottoms.  I probably had my toiletry kit.  The United States passport would have been in my brown leather passport holder.  I probably had some souvenirs from my travels.  It may seem strange that I was using gold instead of American Express travelers checks, but at the time gold went from about $250 a ounce to over $850 an ounce, and there was gold fever http://www.kitco.com/ in the country.  At every airport there was a Deak Perrara gold exchange with long lines.  I recall exchanging the 2.5 ounce Kaiser Wilhelm gold coin for some lesser coins and cash at the coin store in Huntington Beach, California after I returned to California from Hawaii.  It seems like the people in California were honest, since I would leave my Jan Sport day pack on the beach in Laguna Beach with the gold coins and cash all day, and frequently leave it, and nobody would ever take it.  However, after being around the honest Californians, when I returned back to the Manhattan area, unfortunately they are not that honest here.  I used some older gold coins to exchange for the newer gold coins, and although they were older, they never went up in value when the spot value of the newer gold coins went up.  Of course, I also was around Mel Fisher's group in Key West, Florida when they were on their salvage dive for the gold they found there too.  Since one of my relative's husband's father was the chairman of Newmont mining, it would be safe to say that they probably had seen gold before.  They use to joke in California, "All the Gold in California is buried in a Bank in Beverly Hills".  Whatever the case after that experience, I no long keep precious metals or gems around me anymore.  I do have a Canadian quarter with Queen Elizabeth II's engraving on the front, and possibly the Canadian quarter is real silver unlike the U.S. quarter.  I also have a few old pennies that never went up in value along with my plate block stamp collection that never went up in value.  I am acquainted with somebody from DeBeers from South Africa, so possibly they would know more about what happened to the gold that I was carrying.  For all I know it was used to start Microsoft.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/24/04  Wednesday 3:50 A.M.:  I had a lot of witnesses in the places that I visited, and I did not do anything wrong, so it is my perspective that the fact that the individual that took my passport in the Jan Sport day back with the $6,800 in gold more than likely looked a little bit like me, since the individual used my passport in Amsterdam according to American Express.  The fact that the individual used a stolen United States passport and the individual stole $6,800 in gold would lead me to believe the individual might not be a United States citizen and whatever the case, the facts were reported to the New Canaan, Connecticut, Port Washington, New York, SoHo Manhattan and West Side Manhattan police precincts as well as the United States FBI and the United States State department.  I was told by the United States State department that at the time they had no way of tracking lost or stolen passports.  From my viewpoint, Interpol probably know more, but if it was an individual or youth of some prominence they might have covered it up.  However, since I was 30 years old at the time, and since I tended to look younger, the individual using the passport might have been younger.  Whatever, the case more that likely since it happened in this area, the individual still might live in this area or probably still returns to this area for other similar mischief.  Since I obtained the five ounce Swiss Credit bar and three one ounce gold Canadian maple leaf sovereigns from Sam Sloat's coin dealership in Westport, Connecticut possibly they might have tipped somebody or somebody might have been watching their store.  I did have permission to use the funds that I was using at the time, since my relatives were away, and I was dealing with this area when it was very economically depressed and in major recession at that time in 1980 as well as a good deal of Manhattan.  Since the people I was staying with in Manhattan and Port Washington, Long Island claimed to be United States State department employees, although they were also associated with the New York German consulate, it would seem to me that the democrats were playing dirty tricks because of my support for the upcoming republican administration.  If this happened to me on a simple basis, one can imagine what happened at higher levels in democratic administrations.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/24/04  Wednesday 3:00 A.M.:  Well, when I got back to New York or New Canaan, Connecticut to be exact, I was planning to move to Norway, and just before I left Greenwich, I bought a 1974 Burgundy Volvo 2 door sedan at John Delia's Subaru dealership here in Greenwich for $1,750, and I gave them my old 1972 Subaru that had been across country and down to Florida.  I had a small amount traveling funds in cash and a 5 ounce Swiss Credit bar and three 1 ounce Canadian Maple Leaf Sovereigns in a Jan Sport Day Pack which were worth about $6,800 plus some personal items like spare jeans and shirts.  I had planned to drive up to Canada leave the Volvo there and fly to Norway, and thus I would have a car whenever I returned.  However, I either left the day pack with the gold in the Subaru when I switched cars, or it was taken from the Volvo when I parked at Westchester airport to check flight schedules, or when I stopped at my friend's mother's apartment whose family were United States State department employees and I parked on Riverside Drive in Manhattan or when I parked in SoHo for dinner, and I discovered it missing when I checked the trunk of the Volvo later that evening in Port Washington, Long Island where my friend was picking up his passport and belongings at another family residence.  I thus was not able to make the trip to Norway with my friend whom was not very keen on moving to Norway, so with what little funds remained we drove back out to California, and we hung around Santa Barbara, Laguna Beach, and Santa Cruz, California traveling until after election day when we sold the Volvo in Anaheim, and returned back to New York shortly after election day.  Whatever happened to the Jan Sport day back is still a mystery, and it had my United States passport in it, which according to American Express was used in Amsterdam in the Netherlands sometime after that before I ever got there.  Thus from what I can tell, certain parties with government connections in one country or another are covering for the person that took my passport with the Jan Sport day bag and the traveling funds.  My own expenses for traveling in that period, since I was rather frugal were the cost of the Volvo, gasoline to California, a trip for one to California, then to Hawaii, to Maui, to Hawaii, back to California, a few local flights in California, the Hyatt in Maui, a couple nights in Carmel, about a half dozen nights in a cheap motel in Laguna beach, two expensive dinners but mostly light meals, and two airline tickets back from California.  Many nights I slept on the beach or in the Volvo to save money.  Thus the bulk of the funds were lost.  The sale of the Volvo in Anaheim in November 1980 for $1200 permitted us to fly back and provided some living expenses in New York when we returned to my friend's mother's apartment.  Since I knew quite a few Norwegians, I thought I would be better off living off the social welfare system in Norway than sleeping on friend's couches which I had been doing for a quite a bit of time until then.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/24/04  Wednesday 2:20 A.M.:  I remember after I left Kennebunkport, Maine in July 1980 when former President Bush #41 had just gotten the Vice Presidential nomination with Ronald Reagan, I went out to California to see what the Reagan group was about, and while I was out there, I thought I would visit Hawaii, so I caught a plane to Hawaii and a puddle jumper to Maui, and I booked a room in a simple beach motel for about $20 a night.  However, it looked like it might be hot, so I kept the key, and I checked into the Hyatt Regency in Maui at Lahaina, Hawaii Hyatt.com Maui hotels Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa into the least expensive ground floor inside room for about $90 a night, and I put the air conditioning on the maximum.  I did not eat much there, since it was an expensive hotel, but I did have the occasional breakfast buffet of tropical fruits, corn beef hash, and eggs.  I had one expensive dinner, which was about six large shrimp scampi with a half of a bottle of inexpensive German Riesling wine, and the whole meal was about $75, which I thought was expensive, but it was a beautiful dining room overlooking the ocean with waterfalls and very high ceilings and sort of a paradise atmosphere.  They also had a discothèque downstairs with local youth, and I would wear my pink linen pants with my linen Filipino shirt with the shirt tail out, and I would drink vodka and tonic.  The music really was not what I was use to listening to back in New York.  I recall after a week, the manager asked about the bill, and I was told it was about $750, so I gave him a one ounce Canadian gold maple leaf sovereign coin with Queen Elizabeth II's image on the front side which was worth about $875.  I think he gave me change back of about $100, so I could afford to travel to the airport and fly back to the main island of Hawaii, where I received some help near Pearl Harbor refinancing myself with a 2.5 ounce gold coin with Kaiser Wilhelm on it and some spare change.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/23/04  Tuesday 10:20 P.M.:  I chatted with a relative. I then slid it on to a microwave proof plate, and I added two large sliced plum tomatoes sliced into 3/16 inch thick slices and 10 slices of 2 inch by 1.5 inch by 3/32th inch thick slices of Stop and Shop Swiss cheese, and I seasoned it with Italian seasoning, and I put it all in the General Electric microwave oven with a microwave cover, and I heated it on reheat for half of the reheat time to melt the cheese and warm the tomatoes.  I then slid the open face omelet on another plate and sprinkled it with grated parmesan cheese.  I also added two slices of toast with two slices each of margarine, and I cut the toast in half.  I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.  Greenwich Time - Slain Marine comes back to Greenwich .  I will now shut down the computer, and I will now go back up for a walk.  It is suppose to rain tomorrow Weather Underground: Greenwich, Connecticut Forecast .

Note: <888> 11/23/04  Tuesday 8:55 P.M.:  I was up at 2 P.M. this afternoon.  I ate breakfast of oatmeal, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I threw out some garbage, and I picked up my mail.  I chatted with an associate.  I went back to bed until 7 P.M..  I chatted with a relative.  I cleaned up, and I went out.  I went by the Stop and Shop, and I used my $25 Thanksgiving voucher, and I bought a boneless cooked Butterball www.butterball.com white meat turkey breast at $4.29 a pound for $7.85, two half gallons of Minute Main Premium orange juice for $1.99 each, a 16 ounce container of Stop and Shop grated parmesan cheese for $5.99, broccoli crowns at $1.69 a pound for $1.41, a six ounce dry can of California black pitted olives for .99, a 16 ounce bag of baby carrots for $1.99, a 6.5 ounce box of Kraft www.kraft.com Stove Top stuffing for $1.50, a 8.5 ounce box Kraft Nabisco triscuts for $1.99 for $25.70 total.  I then returned home, and I put away my purchases, and I drank some iced tea.  Because, I used the $25 voucher, they keep the grocery receipt, so I did not get a grocery receipt.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/23/04  Tuesday 4:10 A.M.:  I read about a year ago on the internet that Greenshield was the name of the Rothschild family home in Europe, so maybe they branched out with this health care site Green Shield Canada  Welcome or Greenshield Investment Group or Greenshields Brewery & Pub Raleigh's Original Brewpub or University of Windsor - Lancers - Main - Greenshield Therapy Clinic or Greenshield Resources Ltd. or Surface Water Management for Athletic Turf - GreenShield Systems - Drainage, slit drainage, turf drainage, sand channel, sports turf - Drainage, slit drainage, turf drainage, sand channel, sports turf.  However, the Ian Greenshield I knew in Nantucket was a French Canadian contractor whom also built barns in Stowe, Vermont and claimed he had worked as a body guard for Jackie Onassis and he also had me work on my last project painting Admiral Halsey's small Cape cottage on Nantucket Harbor near town off the Polpis road.  I remember its eves and trim which we were painting were full of bees.  Ian looked like the actor Sean Connery and he had a lot of friends and he enjoyed a drink.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/23/04  Tuesday 3:00 A.M.:  I noticed something rather humorous earlier this evening which frequently happens out here.  There are a great many visitors to Manhattan whom do not speak English very clearly, and they ask the information booth at Grand Central Station how to get to Greenwich and are directed out here on the train when they actually are trying to find Greenwich Village in lower Manhattan.  This evening, I noticed a couple of young European student back packers downtown enjoying our town probably thinking it is Greenwich Village.  More than likely they are probably camping in one of our local parks.  I suppose if they surface in the daytime, we could all wear our old blue jeans and tie dye T-shirts and try to make the area look like Greenwich Village with a few random guitar players and other street musicians and hippie type atmosphere.  However, I am not really sure they are camping out here, but more than likely they probably are, unless they ran into other young people whom spoke their language.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/23/04  Tuesday 2:30 A.M.:  I went out after the last message, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area, and I sat out at various locations.  I chatted with the Kennedy Security guard working on the Baccarat store www.baccarat.fr  remodeling operation.  After I completed my walk, I drove down by the waterfront.  I then stopped by the Shell gasoline station on West Putnam Avenue, and I checked the air in my Volvo tires for 32 pounds per sqaure inch.  I toured the station shop, and I said Good Evening to the regular station manager.  I just now returned home, and I drank some iced tea.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/22/04  Monday 11:35 P.M.:  I made up a fresh batch of homemade hummus www.geocities.com/mikelscott/hummus.htm .  For the garlic portion, I used a one ounce bulb of fresh garlic.  I used all of the other regular ingredients.  I then made my usual salad www.geocities.com/mikelscott/salad.htm .  Instead of tuna fish, I used a tin of sardines that I chopped.  For the cheddar cheese portion, I used Stop and Shop Swiss cheese.  I used all of the other regular ingredients.  I ate the salad with a glass of iced tea.  Since around the holiday time we tend to be a little short shifted at night, I will go back downtown for a little bit of moon watching on the New Amsterdam night watch.  It is 46 degrees Fahrenheit right now Weather Underground: Greenwich, Connecticut Forecast .  I will leave the computer turned on while I go out.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/22/04  Monday 9:50 P.M.:  I installed the www.sidestep.com travel search engine on my Computer.  According to it, round trip from LaGuardia or J.F.K. to Florida is about $145, but round trip from Westchester airport to Florida is about $450, so I guess it would pay to fly out of a major New York airport, but it can cost about $100 round trip to get to the airport from here.  I suppose one could take the train to Grand Central for about $10 from Greenwich, Connecticut, and there is probably a bus from Grand Central to the LaGuardia or J.F.K. for about $20 give or take.  However, one can take the Amtrak train from the Stamford, Connecticut to Newark International Airport for $33, but one would also have to pay from Greenwich to Stamford and to get to and from the Greenwich train station.  I think there are livery bus services in the area that pick one up at their residence and delivers one to the airport and return, and they are probably not too much more expensive.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/22/04  Monday 9:35 P.M.:  I received a telephone call today that I will not be receiving my renter's rebate until January 2005, so I will be having a leaner Christmas Holiday this year.  Maybe it will come in time for Russian Orthodox Christmas which comes later than Western Christian Christmas.  I took my fairly sturdy chair from in front of the stereo system, and I removed the cushion, I use it to stand up on to reach into the false ceiling above the maple side table.  I took out the Christmas pine cone wreath with the CVS ornaments, and I hung it on the outside of my apartment door.  I took out the two foot tall artificial Christmas tree with about a dozen and a half ornaments, and I put it on the mahogany tea table in front of the Danish bar.  I noticed downtown a lot of the Christmas decorations are out, so now I have mine out.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/22/04  Monday 9:00 P.M.:  I was up at 3 P.M..  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I went downstairs, and I threw out some garbage, and I picked up some mail.  I cleaned up, and I went out.  I went by the Arnold Bread outlet, and I bought two 6 ounce boxes of Arnold regular cut cheese garlic croutons for $1.19 each, and a loaf of Arnold low carb bread for $2.39 for $4.77 total.  I then drove down by the waterfront.  I next went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue including the train station area, and I sat out at various locations.  I toured CVS, and after my walk, I used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center.  I then went by the Greenwich Library, and I read P.C. Magazine and Smart Computing magazine.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a 10 ounce bag of fresh spinach for $1.99.  I then returned home.  I used a chair at the apartment building front entrance, and I climbed up on it by the plug at the corner of the entrance roof for the holiday Italian lights, and I reset the circuit breaker between the two outlets, and the lights on the trees work, but the lights around the front entrance roof do not work.  They come on when the spotlight is turned on at night.  I left the lights going, and they look more festive.  I then came upstairs, and I drank some iced tea.  I chatted with a relative.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/20/04  Saturday 9:40 P.M.:  I went out after the last message.  I went by the Exxon gasoline station next to the Greenwich Library, and I bought $7 of premium gasoline at $2.479 a gallon for 13.9 miles per gallon usage averaging driving 11 miles per hour around town.  I went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I sat out at various locations.  During my walk, I stopped by the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Greenwich Avenue.  I stopped by CVS, and I bought two buy one get one free of 16 ounce cans of Ocean Spray whole cranberry sauce for $1 both cans and a seven ounce package of black licorice twists for $1.19 plus .07 tax for $2.26 total.  I then completed my walk.  They have finished repaving the sidewalk at the top of Greenwich Avenue on the east side of the street in front of Pickwick Plaza.  After my walk, I used the bathroom at Starbucks www.starbucks.com .  They have not been too busy since they remodeled the store and raised their prices, but one still can get you basic cup of coffee there for $1.40.  I next drove down by the waterfront.  They are still repaving the brick facade entry patio of Greenwich Capital Market www.gcm.com owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland www.rbs.co.uk .  They use about half inch thick veneer bricks, and I think it would be smarter to use thick slate of regular thick bricks or some other paving material, because over time the veneer bricks will crack and break again.  I then went by the Food Emporium, and I bought five 16 ounce boxes of Ronzoni #9 thin spaghetti noodles for $2 all, a 2 pound 5 ounce frozen Mrs. Smith's pumpkin pie for $1.99, and four 26 ounce jars of Francesco Rinaldi tomato spaghetti sauce two of which are three cheese and two tomato, garlic, and onion for .99 each jar for $7.95 total.  I then returned home.  I chatted with a neighbor.  I drank some iced tea.  I chatted with a relative from San Antonio, Texas, and I was told the San Antonio, Texas animal shelter has to put to sleep or gas 90% of the animals turned into it, because only 10% are claimed.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/20/04  Saturday 4:40 P.M.:  I had a telephone call from a friend at 9 A.M..  The first two times the bedroom Columbia corded phone rang, it did not work, so I picked it up on the cordless telephone in the living room.  I chatted with my friend.  I then changed the long cord on the handset of the bedroom Columbia telephone with a regular size one, and it now works.  The longer cord on the telephone before, I think had a lose connection.  I went back to bed until 1 P.M..  I checked outside my apartment, and the package from www.sierratradingpost.com arrived.  I then went back to bed until 3 P.M..  I opened the package from www.sierratradingpost.com , and the four cotton turtlenecks for $8.95 each Medalist Cotton Turtleneck (for Men) one 2XL in Teal, one 2XL in dark teal, one XL in Red, and one XL in Navy  plus $8.25 postage for $44.05 total are just fine.  I unwrapped them, and I put them on the middle left hallway sweater closet shelf.  I keep my collapsed shipping boxes underneath the right side of the bed in the bedroom.  I checked my mail downstairs, and I received my 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo station wagon Connecticut title.  I put it in the usual place I keep my important papers.  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  My primary computer started up all right connected to the Siemens router, so whatever the problem, it was more than likely a problem with the Optimum Online www.optimum.net service which is now fixed.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will clean up, and I will go out.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/19/04  Friday 6:30 P.M.:  I finished house cleaning and watering the plants.  I ran Norton Antivirus 2004 while doing my house cleaning.  I also ran Spybot Search and Destroy a number of times.  I am having a problem with removing some cookies and Dcom entries, but I will leave it as is for now.  I chatted with my relative whom had the hip surgery, and my relative just received a couple of pints of O negative blood.  My relative is being moved a rehabilitation facility tomorrow morning.  Two of my sisters and my relative are O negative, and I am O positive.  I threw out all of the garbage including the bathroom garbage and the waste paper.  I received a $25 Holiday Aid food voucher good at the Stop and Shop and the Greenwich Foot Mart.  I will probably use it on Wednesday to get a smoked Butterball http://www.butterball.com/  boneless turkey breast with some of the trimmings.  At the moment I have plenty of food at home and a well stocked pantry.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/19/04  Friday 1:10 A.M.:  I received the AOL www.aol.com 9.0 CD a few days ago with a free 2 month offer.  I installed the AOL 9.0 CD, and when it prompted me for which plan, I had to call them up at 1-866-854-1015 , and I requested and got the $14.95 a month plan for people whom already have broadband connections.  I had to give them my debit card information, and I will be billed for the third month after January 18, 2005.  I think I will keep AOL because I also get high speed video such as CNN and ABC along with other offerings.  I will have to study it more.  I have the AOL name of "MSCOTTGreenwich" , and although it does not work with AOL as a screen name, I still have the AOL instant message name of "mmikescott" .  I will now set it up on the Dell  backup computer too.  I will have to remember to leave $14.95 in my debit card account, so when AOL bills me, it will not be overdrawn.  I thus have more news and options with the AOL package.  However, the Real Player in AOL only works on my left monitor.  I think there is a way to fix that, but I can not recall how now.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/18/04  Thursday 7:50 P.M.:  I was up at 10 A.M. this morning.  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I went outside, and I threw out some garbage.  I picked up my mail at the mail room.  I called about my Renter's rebate, and they called me back to tell me they would look into it.  I then cleaned up, and I went out.  I drove down by the waterfront.  I then made my 1:45 P.M. appointment.  I filled out the information for the NEON energy assistance program.  I also was told that the Renters Rebates are processed by Social Security numbers, so mine might take a while yet.  I then made my 3 P.M. appointment.  I next went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop.  I then went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area, and I sat out at various locations.  I noticed at the Greenwich train station that the new cross walk above the tracks might have an elevator, but it is hard to tell at this point, and the station attendant did not know.  I also stopped by Harrington's of Vermont http://www.harringtonham.com/ , and they have all sorts of specialty items including Holiday smoked hams and turkeys.  I was told they smoke their meats with corn cobs.  I stopped by the Korean fruit and vegetable market, and I bought three medium and three small Dole bananas for .85.  I also stopped by the 70% off rack at the Greenwich Hardware store, and I bought a 16 ounce green Thermos www.thermos.com food jar Thermos® Products Food Jar 7221A for $4.80 plus .29 tax for $5.09 total.  I guess one could also use it for coffee or hot food or a chilled item too.  I then completed my walk.  I also used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center.  I next drove down by the waterfront.  On the way up Steamboat Road at the Greenwich Capital building http://www.gcm.com/ owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland www.rbs.co.uk I noticed they had a couple of dozen young men outside the building in regimental coats and kilts, so I guess some special event is going on today.  Prince Charles birthday was this past Sunday on November 14.  He was born in 1948 The Prince of Wales - About the Prince , so maybe they are celebrating a belated birthday.  I waved at the guys anyway.  I then went by the Greenwich Library, and I then returned home.  I drank some iced tea.  I leant a neighbor a package of Seneca Ultra Lights 100s cigarettes.  I will put the thermos food jar to the right of the Farberware convection oven on top of the refrigerator with the other thermos bottles.  I now could take a hot cup of soup or stew and a hot cup of coffee with me on an extended journey such as part of the day at Tod's Point.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/17/04  Wednesday 11:55 P.M.:  I did some regular computer work.  I finished off eating a box with about 10 triscuts remaining.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will go to bed soon.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/17/04  Wednesday 10:45 P.M.:  In the building that I am currently living in for the last sixteen years, it is made for handicap and retired individuals.  However, although handicap people live here, the east wing is up five steps from the elevator on the ground floor and on the second floor where I live, it is up six steps in my second floor east section of the building.  I have no problems with the steps now, but as I get older since I intend to live here for the rest of my years, I might sometime in the future have problems with the six steps.  Also my apartment currently is very crowded with furniture, so some of the passage ways are about two feet wide, which despite the six steps would also be hard for someone on a walker on in a wheel chair.  Of course Greenwich, Connecticut has quite a number of big strong people, so if one of them were available to lift an individual, they might be able to visit.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/17/04  Wednesday 10:10 P.M.:  I was thinking about it today, and I guess if one were handicapped, disabled, or could not climb stairs, when the Greenwich Train station west New York bound side is locked up, one could take a train from the Stamford, Connecticut bound out of New York east bound side of the Greenwich, Connecticut train station to Stamford, Connecticut and then use the elevators on the Stamford platform to transfer to the New York bound side.  However, the east bound side of the Greenwich train station is on a very steep hill on either side, so one would have difficulty in a wheel chair getting up that steep hill, however a slow walker could probably make it.  There is generally taxi service on the east bound side in Greenwich until the last train about 1 A.M..  Starbucks on Greenwich Avenue has handicap accessible bathrooms, but it has about a 10 inch high stone threshold, so it would be hard to get into in a wheel chair.  However, there are other restaurants and coffee shops in Greenwich with more user friendly thresholds.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/17/04  Wednesday 8:15 P.M.:  I went out after the last message.  I went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop, and they had their Christmas items up for sale for their Christmas preview.  With all the Christmas items, I was lucky to find a parking place.  I bought a plaid decorated with ribbon photograph album for $3.50.  I then went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I chatted with a few regulars downtown.  After my walk, I used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center.  I then drove down by the waterfront.  I then went by the Greenwich Library, and I read the Greenwich Time.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a top round roast beef for $1.99 a pound for $8.32, a 10 ounce jar of Helluva-a-Good horse radish for $2 and a 32 ounce bottle of Borden's real lemon juice for $2.79 for $13.11 total.  I remembered, I had a $2 off store coupon, so I bought two buy one get one free of 18 ounce cans of Progresso New England clam chowder for $2.69 both less $2 off coupon for .69 total.  I then returned home, and I chatted with a neighbor.  I then took the top round roast beef, and I put it on a roasting rack in a roasting pan, and I seasoned all sides with Old Bay Seasoning, garlic powder, chicken and meat seasoning, celery salt, Italian spices, ground black pepper, and Kraft Bulls Eye barbeque sauce.  I put it in the Farberware convection oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and I am cooking it for 55 minutes and let stand for five minutes before carving.  I am also making up a batch of rice the usual way with the China Village rice steamer.  I will also use the reheat button to heat a 15 ounce cans of Lesueur very young small early peas.  I will eat three 3/8th inch thick slices of the beef with Lea and Perrins worcestershire sauce and with half of the rice and half of the peas, and I will refrigerate the rest in Rubbermaid containers.  I just chatted with my relative whom had hip surgery today, and my relative is doing well, but it will take two to three weeks to recover.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/17/04  Wednesday 1:45 P.M.:  My www.sierratradingpost.com order of four turtle necks Medalist Cotton Turtleneck (for Men) shipped DHL/USPS www.dhl.com from Aurora, Colorado on 11/16/04 at 9:29 P.M..  I probably will get it on Monday, but maybe Saturday.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will clean up, and I will go out.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/17/04  Wednesday 1:30 P.M.:  I went to bed after the last message.  A friend called at 7 A.M..  I slept until 11 A.M..  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I went outside, and I threw out some garbage.  I picked up my mail.  I went back to bed until about 1 P.M..  I chatted with a relative, and my relative who was having hip replacement surgery came through the surgery all right and is now recovering.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/17/04  Wednesday 1:15 A.M.:  I ate half of a 12 ounce jar of dry roasted peanuts with some iced tea.  I watched some vintage television on the Turner movie channel.  I actually enjoy the old movies, but I do not have the time to watch them, since I am busy on the internet.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will go to bed soon.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/16/04  Tuesday 11:55 P.M.:  I went out after the last message.  I went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I sat out at various locations.  They are still installing the Christmas tree lights downtown.  I also noticed a long time fixture on Greenwich Avenue, the Baskin Robbins ice cream parlor at the top of Greenwich Avenue has gone out of business.  I guess it was a victim of the ever increasing rents on Greenwich Avenue.  Of course one can always buy ice cream at the grocery stores.  I next drove down by the waterfront.  I noticed coming through town, they are just about complete with the expansion of the Arch street railroad bridge underpass.  On the new stairs to the platforms on the west side of Arch street one has to go up four levels to get to the train station level.  Of course there is an elevator in the Greenwich railroad station.  However that is not opened all the time.  Thus individuals coming out on the train would be restricted in their activity on the north side of the train station, if they were impaired from climbing long flights of stairs.  However, on the south side of the train station, it is at ground level.  They are also in the process of building a new stairway overpass over the tracks, but once again that would only be for the able bodied.  I was under the impression that the public transportation was suppose to be available to the handicapped and disabled, but having climbed many a stair in the subways of New York, I guess that is not really the case.  I next drove down by the waterfront.  I then returned home, and I drank some iced tea.  I just received intruder attacks from Apt Technologies in Santa Cruz, California.  I do not have the time to continually report on intruder attacks, so in the future, I will only report on Trojan attacks.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/16/04  Tuesday 8:35 P.M.:  Latest intruder attack from Ilink Limited in Hong Kong.  I chatted with a relative whom is having surgery tomorrow.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will go out for a while after I clean up.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/16/04  Tuesday 8:05 P.M.:  The latest intruder attack was from Road Runner-Commercial in Herndon, Virginia.  I took a five quart Revere pot, and I put in a teaspoon of olive oil, a few dashes of salt, and about 3.5 quarts of water, and I brought it to a boil over high heat.  I then boiled over medium high heat a 16 ounce box of Stop and Shop vermicelli for six minutes.  I drained it in a colander, and I put half on a plate, and I refrigerated the other half in a Rubbermaid container in the refrigerator.  While boiling the vermicelli, I also reheated in a plastic microwave pot with lid in the General Electric microwave oven half of a 26 ounce jar of Master Choice marinara tomato sauce, and I put the remaining half in the jar in the refrigerator.  I put the heated tomato sauce on the cooked vermicelli, and I added a thin layer of grated parmesan cheese.  I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/16/04  Tuesday 7:05 P.M.:  Latest intruders are from Cable i Televisio de Catalunya in Spain and IIAT Customers Servers Farm in Russia.  Judging from the IP addresses that my Norton Internet Security 2004 firewall is reporting, knowing something about probability and the distribution of internet sites, it seems that possibly it is some hacking program simply posting random IP addresses and not actually coming from the servers reported.  Judging from the IP address locations, it would seem to be someone from California based on what their regional education might be in that area and not a very high level of education at that.  It basically seems to be someone educated on television with hacking capabilities on the internet.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/16/04  Tuesday 5:25 P.M.:  ABC News: Lost Luggage Becomes Found Treasure and the latest intruder attack IP address came from within the Optimum Online system.  Thus we have local hackers attacking our systems too.  One has to setup Norton Internet Security 2004 or later to show inbound attacks.  The latest came from Sympatico HSE in Toronto, Ontario.  Thus although Optimum Online www.optimum.net assigns a new IP address every time one logs onto their system, there are plenty of hackers and attackers out there constantly attacking one's systems, so one needs to use a Firewall to prevent such intrusions.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/16/04  Tuesday 5:05 P.M.:  If one uses Norton Internet Security 2004 or later, and one has Java installed, one can click on Statistics and Attacker Details to find out whom intruders are.  The latest intruder was from Cablespeed in Millersville, Maryland.  One can also click on Visual Tracking and enter the IP address of an attacker if one has it.  One can cut and pasta the IP address into the URL address by entering the key strokes "Ctrl-C" to copy and "Ctrl-V" to paste.  However, one first needs the IP address, which I think only Norton Internet Security 2004 or later gives, but possibly other firewall programs do as well.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/16/04  Tuesday 4:35 P.M.:  I was up at 11 A.M. when a friend called.  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I went outside, and I threw out garbage.  I picked up the mail.  I watched President Bush's news conference.  I went back to bed.  I was up at 3:30 P.M..  I just turned on the primary computer, and as soon as I turned it on an IP address from Hanaro Telecom Co. in Seocho-Ku, Korea attempted to intrude on my computer.  The intrusions are coming from a town near the Korean border, so maybe North Koreans are attempting to intrude on my computer.  Possibly they are mad that I sold my 1999 Hyundai Accent, but I still have my General Electric Profile 15,500 BTU air conditioner with remote control that was made in Korea.  Maybe they are mad that I am advertising cheaper bananas at the Korean fruit and vegetable store next to the Greenwich Post Office.  In the old days the "Moonies" were always snooping around me, because they would see me awake at night.  Also the local Lutheran church next to the Greenwich Town Hall has a Korean church using their facilities.  I also know the "Moonies" sell flowers in our neighborhood on holidays.  Possibly it is some old friend from the military that got transferred to Korea.  www.hanaro.com is Korea's fastest internet service.  Well, I am still waiting for my old 1999 Hyundai Accent L rebate card to be activated on November 16, which is today.  I will have to stop by Stamford Hyundai to see if they accept it.  I am suppose to have $120 on the card to only be used at a Hyundai dealership.  I just had the computer intruded on from 268 Bush street in San Francisco, California by "PPPoX Pool".  CIO

Note: <888> 11/16/04  Tuesday 4:05 A.M.:  The latest intrusion attempt came from ThePlanet.com in Dallas, Texas, but for all I know, people must be really bored to keep trying such activity, unless they are trying to sell tech support or hardware after they mess up someone's computer in which case, they could be prosecuted for a Class A felony fraud.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will go to bed.  Stay warm if you are in the cold country.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/16/04  Tuesday 3:45 A.M.:  The latest intrusion detection was from Asia Infonet Co., Ltd., Din Daeng, Thailand and earlier one from China.  Of course, I know enough about the internet to know that cleaver enough individuals can fake IP addresses.  I once dealt with a software engineer that drank too much bourbon that traveled around for the U.S. government.  Needless to say from what I know about software engineering, there is no real reason to bother my computer operation, unless someone is trying to keep me busy on the computer, so I do not spend as much time downtown.  However during time of war, such activity could be considered close to counter espionage, which during time of war could be tried as a Capitol offence.  However, that would only be the case if I were a high level government official, however if such individuals are bothering me, more than likely they are bothering more important individuals as well.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/16/04  Tuesday 3:15 A.M.:  Other intrusions have come from Mountain Cablevision LTD. Hamilton, Ontario; America Online, Dulles, Virginia; Korea Telecom, Korea; Korea Network Information, Korea; Hanaro Telecom, Korea; Neostrada Plus, Wroclaw, Poland; Dacom Corp., Korea; and Sequent Computer Systems, Inc., Essex Junction, Vermont.  They have tried to install the Back Orifice and the Netbus Trojan virus programs to remotely control my computer.  Norton Internet Security 2004 has detected and blocked them, but I sort of wander what the point is, unless it is some sort of spider crawling around the internet randomly targeting vulnerable computers.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/16/04  Tuesday 2:20 A.M.:  I uninstalled and reinstalled Sun Java, and I got the Norton Internet Security 2004 Attacker details working with the Java, and the last two attacks came from www.conxion.net which is now http://www.navisite.com/infrastructure-services.cfm .  In the future, I will have to use that feature of Norton Internet Security 2004 to see where attacks are coming from.  The last attack came from the Santa Clara, California, which is out there in the Silicone Valley, so perhaps some web head thinks I have not been working hard enough on the computer.  However for the last few years since 911, I have been spending quite a bit more time outside in the weather year round doing other routines, so I have not been able to keep up with the tech aspects of the internet as much as I would like.  I feel like putting the techie in Santa Clara, California in some place like Juno, Alaska, so they would begin to know at my age it is not easy being out in the weather as much as I am.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/14/04  Sunday 3:35 P.M.:  I went through my email. I then slid it on to a microwave proof plate, and I added two large sliced plum tomatoes sliced into 3/16 inch thick slices and 10 slices of 1.5 inch by 1.25 inch by 1/8th inch thick slices of Stop and Shop Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese, and I seasoned it with Italian seasoning, and I put it all in the General Electric microwave oven with a microwave cover, and I heated it on reheat for half of the reheat time to melt the cheese and warm the tomatoes.  I then slid the open face omelet on another plate and sprinkled it with grated parmesan cheese.  I also added two slices of toast with two slices each of margarine, and I cut the toast in half.  I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/14/04  Sunday 1:40 P.M.:  I went to bed after the last message.  I woke up during the night, and I ate the remaining fourth of a 12 ounce can of CVS mixed nuts.  I was up at 8 A.M. this morning, and I ate breakfast of oatmeal, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I then went back to bed until 12:30 P.M.  I watched a bit of television.  I will now do some regular computer work.  As far as the Greenwich Time www.greenwichtime.com is concerned its main advertising revenue is derived from advertising Greenwich, Connecticut real estate, so more than likely it would not be in its interest to print anything that was detrimental to Greenwich, Connecticut real estate  http://www.geocities.com/mikelscott/gwreal.htm  values.  However, having lived here most of my life in Greenwich, Connecticut nothing much happens worth reporting most of the time anyway.  It is just because we have a lot of cleaver writers, certain news events tend to get over reported.  I once met Otis Chandler Junior out living on a 40 acre avocado ranch in a Buckmaster Fuller house in Oceanside, California, and as I recall, he did not even have any printed matter in his house besides Architectural Digest.  I think he has since move to Chicago, Illinois since he acquired the Chicago Tribune Company http://www.tribune.com/ which owns the Times Mirror company Times Mirror Company (the) Profile Information at Business.com .  However like the Hearst family, the Chandler family have other business interests besides the Newspaper business.  I also ate four black licorice twists.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/13/04  Saturday 10:45 P.M.:  I microwaved a 7.26 ounce Celeste Suprema pizza, which I ate with a glass of iced tea.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will go to bed.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/13/04  Saturday 10:05 P.M.:  Over the years, I have noticed quite a few people enjoying a meal at one of our local pizza parlors next to the Greenwich train station and movie theatre called Planet Pizza, and I just recently noticed they have a web site http://www.planetpizza.com/ .  I was once told by one of their employees that their biggest corporate customer was IBM www.ibm.com up in Armonk, New York, and I joked they should deliver motherboards in pizza boxes.  Apparently quite a few Italians seem to work locally for IBM, so some of them seem to think it stands for Italian Business Machines, but it stands for International Business Machines.  I believe the Italian Business Machine company is www.olivetti.com , which use to have a nice modern building on the west side of Park Avenue in Manhattan at 59th street.  However, the last time I checked the bamboo at IBM's office in Manhattan at the southwest corner of Madison Avenue and 57th Street was about two years ago during the G8 conference.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/13/04  Saturday 9:40 P.M.:  I went out after the last message.  I drove downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out at various locations.  I used the bathroom at the Senior and Arts center, and I stopped by CVS.  I noticed on a bulletin message on the front door of the Senior and Arts center that only people over 75 years of age or older will be able to get flu shots when they are offered at the Greenwich High School some time in the near future and also younger people with special medical conditions.  I next drove down by the waterfront.  I then stopped by the Exxon gasoline station next to the Greenwich Library, and I bought $10.75 of premium gasoline at $2.499 a gallon for 14.4 miles per gallon usage this week averaging driving 12 miles per hour locally around town.  The Volvo has a dashboard computer that gives me this information, which I reset after I fill up the Volvo.  I chatted with a relative.  I watched a program on CNN about Saudi Arabia being at a Cross Roads which was somewhat informative.  Apparently they have a large youth population there, and they have 30% unemployment, but they are working on programs there to put the local population to work.  I remember recently back around 1973, I visited with a friend from East Aurora, New York, and we visited his grandfather down in Gladstone, New Jersey, and his grandfather had a traditional British stone country house with out buildings.  His grandfather had worked as a honor guard for Queen Victoria, and I guess in Queen Victoria's time, they did not have much energy, because during that winter evening, I noticed the temperature inside the house was below 50 degrees Fahrenheit.  Thus he must have had some Scottish blood in him too or some other product from Scotland.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/13/04  Saturday 4:15 P.M.:  I went outside briefly.  One of my neighbors told me that my next door neighbor got into a car wreck, but she has returned home safely.  However, her car was pretty badly damaged.  I chatted with www.dhl.com , and I was told that my package from www.sierratradingpost.com was delivered to the local United States post office, so it will be delivered here on Monday.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will go out for some fresh air.  I also chatted with someone else on the telephone.  CIO

End of Scott's Notes week of 11/13/04:

Note: <888> 11/13/04  Saturday 2:30 P.M.:  I made and ate my usual salad www.geocities.com/mikelscott/salad.htm .  I use a tin of sardines that I chopped instead of tuna fish.  For the cheddar cheese portion, I used Stop and Shop Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese.  I used all of the other regular ingredients.  I ate the salad with a glass of iced tea.  For middle age individuals like myself whom take Lipitor www.lipitor.com to control one's cholesterol, I have chosen not to eat too much beef to keep my cholesterol down.  So I am not necessarily a vegetarian, and the salads costs just as much as a cooked dinner of beef, poultry, fish, or pork.  Also they tend to take more time to prepare.  On arthritis, I read this book "The Arthritis Cure" by Jason Theodosakis Amazon.com: Books: The Arthritis Cure: The Medical Miracle That Can Halt, Reverse, and May Even Cure Osteoarthritis about five years ago.  Today, I take double strength of Glucosamine Hydrochoride 1500 mg. and Chondroitin Sulfate 1200 mg. once a day and twice a day MSM 1000 mg., and it does seem to help with my arthritis.   However, the book says the first remedy takes about three months to take effect.  The MSM is an anti-inflammatory, so it helps with the pain.  Along with my Vitamins and supplements, when I wake up, I also take a half of a aspirin and an Advil, and I take a Tylenol before I go to bed.  I will now send out my weekly notes.  I will then shut down the computer, and I will clean up, and I will go out.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/13/04  Saturday 12:30 P.M.:  I just picked up the mail including the grocery store circulars, and starting today at the Food Emporium, premium aged boneless Angus sirloin steaks are $4.99 a pound, and starting tomorrow at the Stop and Shop top round roast is $1.99 a pound, and starting next week on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at Porricelli's boneless chicken breasts are $1.88 a pound, so if one can afford the gasoline to shop around, one can still eat in Greenwich, Connecticut providing one has a kitchen.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/13/04  Saturday 12:05 P.M.:  Last winter, I was told by a customer with bad arthritis at the Putnam Trust Bank of New York parking lot on Mason Street here in Greenwich, Connecticut that a good cure for arthritis is soak white raisins in gin.  This week while making my 3 P.M. Thursday appointment, I read in a two week old U.S. News and World Report that Teresa Heinz Kerry suggests soaking white raisins in Gilbey's gin for two weeks, and this article says that one is suppose to eat nine of the white raisins a day for arthritis New York Daily News - Home - Michael Goodwin: She's out there , but it does not say what one is suppose to do with the Gin.  I might have to try it some time.  The person who told me about it at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street looked like a prominent democrat associated with Berkshire Hathaway http://www.berkshirehathaway.com/ who is suppose to live in Omaha, Nebraska, but may indeed visit out here too.  He once told me he lived in Scarsdale, New York when I tried to interest him in buying the General Reinsurance building on Steamboat Road now the Greenwich Capital http://www.gcm.com/ building owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland http://www.rbs.co.uk/ .  I also was reminded one of the best values on beef in Greenwich, Connecticut is that one can buy chopped beef at Manero's butcher chop for $2.49 a pound Manero's Steakhouse Restaurant, Butcher Shop, Wedding & Banquet Facilities in Greenwich, CT. according to their web site at http://www.maneros-greenwichct.com/ .  One could also look for hamburger buns at the Arnold bread outlet.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/13/04  Saturday 11:30 A.M.:  I put away both loads of laundry.  According to www.airborne.com , my www.sierratradingpost.com order two extra large white turtlenecks Medalist Two-Layer Midweight Performance Turtleneck (for Men) and two large pairs of grey heather Fox Merino wool casual socks Fox River Merino Wool Casual Socks (for Men and Women) plus $8.25 shipping for $46.05 total arrived at the DHL facility in Norwalk, Connecticut at 9:37 A.M. this morning via Allentown, Pa. from Salt Lake City, Utah, with the original shipment from Cheyenne, Wyoming on 11/10/04.  However, it is suppose to be delivered by the United States Post office, so I guess DHL has to transfer it to the post office for delivery.  Apparently www.dhl.com partnered with the post office on deliveries which included delivering to U.S. Post Office boxes for those of you whom do not have home delivery, although they do most of the shipping.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/09/04  Tuesday 4:10 A.M.:  Needless to say just because I take local fitness walks on Greenwich Avenue does not mean that I am a security agent.  Many people take fitness walks and great many of them walk in the New York Metropolitan area, so if one wants to be a security agent that walks try joining the www.goarmy.com or http://www.army.mil/ , of course that is only for the fit and young, and there are other alternative services like http://www.geocities.com/mikelscott/dod.htm , not to mention other opportunities world wide.  I was once told that the French Foreign Legion http://www.foreignlegionlife.com/ or http://www.ambafrance-us.org/atoz/legion/index.asp  will take people until age 45, and also one is eligible for French citizenship after three years of service but not guaranteed it, only on a case by case basis.  Of course it might help if one spoke French.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/09/04  Tuesday 3:45 A.M.:  I just noticed that http://www.brinkshomesecurity.com/ is headquartered in Irving, Texas where http://www2.exxonmobil.com/ is headquartered, so we must have some local people here affiliated with them.  However, Wells Fargo http://www.wellsfargo.com/ does not locally seem to be in the security business anymore, but locally we use to have http://www.wackenhut.com/ in Hartford, Connecticut and a number of locations in New York.  Also locally in Greenwich, Connecticut beside the Greenwich Police Department http://www.greenwichct.org/PoliceDept/PoliceDept.asp , we also have Google Search: Kennedy Security near Greenwich, CT , which have local experience, and I have chatted with Roger Kennedy before about the possibility of alligators in this area during the warmer months.  However, since Greenwich, Connecticut is a New England town, and since New Englanders are frequently thrifty and frugal like the Greenwich town motto, "Frugality and Fortune", we frequently rely on our wits and based on what our budget can afford.  Of course the wealthier people also employ other private security agencies as well as various other government agencies which are too numerous to count.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/09/04  Tuesday 2:55 A.M.:  After the last message, I picked up my mail.  I received in the mail a package of from a relative that had a blue Alex Cannon from Rowayton, Connecticut  denim shirt large size regularly $59.50 for $29.99 from T.J. Maxx www.tjmaxx.com  style 498631 and a pair of Bungalow Brand waist 40 inch length 30 inches 70% Rayon 30% Polyester made in Jordan with a suggested retail price of $48.  However, the pants are more summer pants, but the denim shirt with a pullover would be comfortable for winter.  Of course, I could wear the summer pants with my long underwear like I frequently do with other summer pants.  I removed the tags, and I hung them in my living room closet.  I also received a 1 day pass for www.samsclub.com where they only charge one an additional 10%, however it is not good in Elmsford, New York which is my nearest Sams.  I ate the other half of the 12 ounce can of CVS mixed nuts with a glass of iced tea.  I went to bed at 4 P.M..  I was up at 11 P.M..  I ate breakfast of oatmeal, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I changed the four AAA batteries in my RCA remote control for my Proscan television in the bedroom.  I put in two new AAA Energizer batteries, one Walgreen's heavy duty AAA battery, and a slightly used Energizer AAA battery.  I still have spare batteries including three four packs of Duracell AAA batteries, but I did not feel like them using them for the remote control.  I save them for my Kensington Wireless mouse.  I move the wooden carved pineapple from the salad bowl on the dining room table, and I put the spare apartment keys and Volvo keys that were hanging on it in the relish dish next to the salad bowl.  I put the wooden pineapple on the top shelf of the mahogany end table at the apartment entrance.  When I knew Helen Kress Williams from Manhattan and Oyster Bay, Long Island, we visited her 40 acre estate in Oyster Bay, Long Island where the main house had burned down in 1926, and only the gate house remained.  However, there was a brick wall around the property near Sagamore Hill the Teddy Roosevelt family home.  By the garage she had her own gasoline pump  with the Pegasus flying horse from Mobil www.mobil.com on it, but alas during the early 1970s oil embargo the pump did not work, so she had to buy gasoline at the Marathon http://www.marathon.com/  oil station just across the Queensborough Bridge as one left Manhattan.  On either side of the brick entrance gate each side was topped with a large stone pineapple.  She explained it was the Christian symbol of hospitality from the days when the Boston missionaries went to Hawaii.  Of course during the wars of this past century the pine apple was also a slang term for a hand grenade which would not necessarily be Christian hospitality.  Just like Cook's travel from England is named for Captain Cook, but most people forget that Captain Cook was eaten by the Hawaiians.  I can find a web site for Cook's of England, so they must have gone the way of the Guni bird or been eaten.  Back in April 1975, when I tried quitting smoking cigarettes, I tried camping out at the Conyers Farm lake and swimming in the brisk spring fed water.  Some of the other local area residents were also doing the same thing, and I met Louis Rosenstiel whom owned the property and his daughter, and I visited in their home.  His caretaker on the property Siegert told me there were bears on the property, and Louis Rosenstiel use to walk the property with three very large Russian wolf hounds which I would have thought he might have used to keep wolves away.  Locally I have been told that a cousin of Paul Allen of Microsoft fame named Jim Allen is in partnership with Peter Brant at Conyers Farm, so possibly Paul Allen is involved in the $54 million dollar corporate purchase the 80 acre polo farm at Conyers Farm, which I think might have been the old Rynwood estate.   I emailed Paul Allen about this property  http://www.greenwichcountryestate.com/ that Preferred Properties  http://www.pproperties.com/ was offering, and his people emailed me back, they would look into it.  Knowing Greenwich Real Estate, it is my viewpoint that Round Hill Road real estate is more desirable than North Street real estate, but perhaps Paul Allen did not want to be a neighbor of Leona Helmsley.  Whatever the case, the transaction was handled by Roger Pierson in private for the parties involved, so no one knows whom is behind the transaction.  However, if one were living in either location, I would recommend a Russian wolf hound, since wolves and other wild life do not seem to respect private property rights. Of course if it were Paul Allen www.paulallen.com , he would be use to wildlife coming from the upper northwest which is full of wild life.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/08/04  Monday 11:15 A.M.:  I went out after the last message.  I went downtown, and I sat out for a while.  A little before 9 A.M., I walked over to the Wachovia Bank on Havemeyer Place, and I paid my rent to the Greenwich Housing Authority.  I then drove down by the waterfront.  I next went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop, and most all merchandise remains half price.  I  bought a moss green medium size wooden sitting chair with spindle back for $2.50 and a plaid yellow, lime green, and cranberry chair cushion for $1.50 for $4 total.  I then returned home.  I brought up the chair and the cushion.  I cleaned the chair with Windex orange cleaner.  I pressed in one of the chair support dowels which was a tight fit without glue, so the chair is more stable.  I moved the directors chair from the front of the stereo system bookcase by the Orion television, and I folded it up with out its black canvas back which I stored inside the folded directors chair, and I stored it at the far end the down filled sofa along with the beach chairs and they are covered by the blue towels, so it is not conspicuous.  I then took the moss green medium size wooden chair, and I put it where the directors chair was, and it fits just fine in that location.  I put the blue and yellow cushion from the directors chair on the seat of the moss green wooden chair and I tied the yellow, lime green, and cranberry plaid chair cushion to the back spindles of the chair to use as a back cushion.  Since I weigh 210 pounds, it is very stable with me sitting on it, so any smaller individuals whom it is basically designed for, it would be stable and comfortable enough to sit on.  Plus it is light enough to move, if one wanted to get behind it to take out the solid oak folding table set or folding wooden card table chair or open up the television cabinet.  I still have the spare three packs of Perrier www.perrier.com  2000 stored under the chair in that location.  I obtained the Perrier 2000, when on my birthday on May 9, 2000, I bought about $250 of Perrier at the Food Emporium for about $2.59 a three pack, and I later returned about $150 of it, when I needed money.  The rest I guess was gradually drunk over the years.  However, I still have 24 3/4 liter bottles of Perrier, and 18 of them are in the Year 2000 three packs.  Of course, the last time I looked about 13 years ago, Perrier's Western Hemisphere headquarters were across the street from me on West Putnam Avenue by the New York border.  However, recently although Great Waters of France which owns Perrier was bought out by http://www.nestle-watersna.com/ which owns a number of other water and sparkling water companies.  I keep three of the Perrier bottles refrigerated in the refrigerator, but although I think it is very healthy for one to drink, I do not drink it myself hardly at all, since it is very expensive.  When I worked at the Languedoc restaurant in Nantucket, they also use to have little Perrier bottles on the tables with flowers in them, and I use to see the product around Manhattan, but alas the last time I was in France about 13 years ago for the Albertville, France winter Olympics, I did not see any evidence of Perrier around France, it was all Evian.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/08/04  Monday 5:40 A.M.:  I went out after the last message.  I went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I sat out at various locations.  I chatted with a dog walker.  In the downtown sidewalk repaving project, they have been stalled on completing the sidewalk construction outside the Pickwick Plaza and the Chase bank.  I don't think they ran out of cement, but for some odd reason it is just bare ground and gravel and a Porta Potty.  Perhaps it is some mass conspiracy to keep the local youth from creating a disturbance skate boarding there.  We will have to see what develops there over time.  Maybe they are planning to pave the sidewalk outside the Chase Bank with gold, but first they have to find the gold.  During my walk, outside Carlson travel, I found an open older discarded Compaq computer.  I salvaged from it a 32 meg and a 64 meg memory chip, a two USB port PCI card, and a AMD K2 366 MHz processor.  After my walk, I drove down by the waterfront.  I next returned home about 2 P.M..  My procedure for starting the primary computer with the Siemens router for the backup computers works.  However, at the moment I have it connected directly to the cable modem.  I then did some Mickey Mouse maintenance on the backup computers.  On the IBM Cyrix computer in the bedroom, I took out the IBM Cyrix 233 MHz MMX processor that only ran at 183 MHz, and I installed the AMD K2 336 MHz processor, and I used some of the CPU thermal grease that I keep in my top left living room desk drawer, when I put the CPU fan back on.  It took a while, but I finally got the motherboard dip pins set right for the AMD processor, but when it boots, it only registers at 233 MHz, which is still faster.  I also put the 2 USB port PCI card in the computer, which in the future will be known as the AMD 233 MHz processor.  I put the IBM 233 MHz MMX Cyrix processor in the little box in my second down left living room desk drawer along with the Intel 133 MHz processor that I kept as a souvenir.  In the backup Gateway computer, I had a 128 meg memory chip, so I added the 64 meg and the 32 meg memory chips, so it now shows 224 megs.  This took a while but the backup computers in the bedroom still work online with the Siemens router and the Linksys Hub.  I am trying to stay awake until 9 A.M., so I can pay my rent to the Greenwich Housing Authority at the Wachovia www.wachovia.com Bank branch at Havemeyer Place.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/07/04  Sunday 8:55 P.M.:  I just woke up from my nap.  I saw on the news that a lot of anti Bush people are trying to move to Canada, and emigration applications have gone up six fold.  It does not make sense to me, since although Canada initially seems more civilized, it is a much harder life up in Canada, once one has to earn a living.  It would seem to me that since I have only counted 122 Canadian license plates in Greenwich, Connecticut in 21 years since I returned off of Nantucket that Canadians can not afford to visit the New York area.  According to this the Canadian dollar is getting stronger and the U.S. dollar is getting weaker Monthly Average Graph (American Dollar, Canadian Dollar) 2003 . The head of International for Monsanto www.monsanto.com use to be Canadian.  When I was just out of college, and some friends took me to Fort Erie rack track outside Toronto, Canada where the Queen Mother was presenting the trophy, I met the head of General Motors in Canada.  I worked with someone in Nantucket from Montreal whom was affiliated with the Rothschild family.  The last time I was in Key West, I ran into someone from Chicago, Illinois that looked like Cardinal Cody, and he told me his sister owned 25% of Molson's brewing.  I still own a Air Canada flight bag.  Basically Canada economically is not much different than the USA, but the people tend to be physically much larger.  Hudson's Bay Company is www.hbc.com and still opened for business.  I use to know people from Olympia and York.  Whatever, the case I would dare say we have some Canadian in our local woods.  Louis Rosenstiel that used to own Conyers Farm was a Canadian that owned Schenley Liquor http://www.thekirkwoodgroup.com/beverages/spirits/whisky/schenley/  now owned by http://www.bartoninc.com/ .  Locally Peter Brant is also Canadian.  Whatever the case, Canada also has a lot grain fed beef which is suppose to be superior to corn fed beef.  However, it gets colder in Canada, so more than likely one would be cold if one ever went outdoors.  Both Toronto and Montreal each have over 20 miles of underground pedestrian streets for shopping, so one can avoid the cold.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/07/04  Sunday 1:00 P.M.:  The last time I was in Key West, Florida was in February 1982.  I went down there because it was minus 25 degrees below zero Fahrenheit in New York City, and my room mate whom worked for Cyrus Vance in New York City kicked me out of the apartment we shared, so her son could move in.  I stayed a week with somebody in New York from Hollywood, Florida whom had to leave New York City to go the island of St. Bartholomew's on an assignment for Vogue magazine.  I thus did not have any place to stay in New York City, and since it was so cold in New York City, I flew down to Key West with a stop over at National Airport, West Palm Beach, Miami, and arriving at Key West, Florida.  That night while enjoying a few Vodka and orange juices, I met Steve Bahl at a local pub in Key West, and a mutual acquaintance told me he owned a million head of dairy cattle in Wisconsin, so I would imagine with the temperatures in New York City at that time it was even colder in Wisconsin.  Steve looked like Adolph Hitler and talked like Tennessee Ernie Ford which is a common accent in the southeast.  I am not sure how many dairy cows he actually owns, but he might be part of one of those large dairy cooperatives.  This time of year when it is cooler, they can start shipping cheese, so if one is interested in Wisconsin cheese, this is their web site http://www.fennimorecheese.com/ .  One of my parents original friends in Greenwich, Connecticut back in 1961 owned a Wisconsin cheese company too.  When I went down to former President Bush's #41 inaugural in 1989, I walked into the Georgetown Inn with a few friends and found myself at the Wisconsin reception party with then governor Tommy Thomson and Bart Star was also there.  Needless to say there was lots of free food there, so we helped ourselves and ate quite a lot of free food that was very good.  Thus if one ever attends a Presidential inaugural be sure to stop by at the Wisconsin reception, since they seem to have a lot of food in Wisconsin.  I still have a picture somewhere in my apartment from the Greenwich Time about 15 years ago of someone named Smith from Wisconsin whom was walking across America in a kilt with bag pipes.  Since I went to Lake Forest College www.lfc.edu which is only about 20 miles south of the Wisconsin border in Lake Forest, Illinois, I have probably met other people from Wisconsin.  One local here drives a van with Wisconsin license plates.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/06/04  Saturday 3:40 P.M.:  This microwave oven rice steamer seems like the same as the China Village Microwave Rice Steamer that I use http://fantes.com/microwave.htm#rice or Microwave Rice Steamer , but I am not sure the second link for the same name Joyce Chen includes the steam circulating inner lid that the first one does.  The China Village one that I use came from the Food Emporium for $15 about four years ago, so perhaps they still carry it.  My basic rice recipe is to wash a cup of Carolina enriched white rice in a bowl with hot water, then I strain it with a wire strainer rinsing it with hot water, then I put the cup of rice in the rice steamer with 14 ounces of water two tablespoons of olive oil and a teaspoon of sesame oil, and I put the inner and outer lids on it, and I microwave it in my three year old 1100 watt General Electric microwave oven for 11 minutes, and then I let it stand for 5 minutes to finish cooking and then I serve it.  My recipe differs from the one that came with the China Village rice cooker, but by trial and error, I came up with the way I cook it.  However, different microwave ovens have different power, so the cooking time might vary.  One of these days, I might change to brown rice which is suppose to be more nutritious Microwave brown rice cooks faster - The Honolulu Advertiser - Hawaii's Newspaper .  Presently I have a new 10 pound bag of Carolina enriched white rice and about two more pounds opened, which is about $5 a 10 pound bag at the Stop and Shop, and I also have about a pound and a half of brown rice, and I also have a five pound bag of Della Japanese sushi rice which comes from Arkansas.  I noticed once when I toured the Japanese grocery store which is mostly in Japanese by exit 5 on I-95 across from the Riverside shopping center that they have lots of expensive over $20 a 10 pound bag of Japanese rice.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/06/04  Saturday 7:55 A.M.:  I put three tablespoons of olive oil in a small six inch skillet, and I heated it over medium high electric burner heat for about two minutes, I then put the other salmon pattie that I made last night, and I heated it 4.5 minutes a side halfway between medium high and medium heat.  I also added two pads of margarine for each side.  I also reheated with the General Electric microwave oven vegetable button the rice from last night and a can of Green Giant green beans in a plastic microwave proof plastic pot with lid including the bean can water.  Once I drained the water off the beans after heating, I put on a couple of teaspoons of olive oil.  I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.  I unplugged and took apart the Honeywell Hepa air purifier, and I washed the outer carbon filter in soapy hot water, and I rinsed it off with hot water, and I squeeze out the excess moisture, and I put it back around the inner paper filter, which one can not clean.  I put it back up on the top of the bookcase above the stereo, and I set it on low speed.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will clean up, and I will go out.  Current weather in Greenwich, Connecticut 06830 U.S.A. End of Scott's Notes week of 11/06/04:

Note: <888> 11/06/04  Saturday 4:00 A.M.:  I was up at midnight, and I ate breakfast of oatmeal, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I went back to bed until 2:30 A.M..  I tried starting up the primary computer with the Siemens router, and it would not go online.  I started it up without the Siemens router, and it went online.  I turned off the computer, and I tried installing the other cable modem that I have, but it would not go online unless I opened another account.  I reinstalled my regular cable modem, but first I turned it on without the cable and LAN connected to it to recycle its settings.  I then started it up with the Siemens router connected, and it went online.  However, once it goes online for a while, it usually starts up with the Siemens router.  I will have to wait for it to be off for an extended period of time to see if it goes online with the Siemens router.  I also went to http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php , and I downloaded and installed TCP Optimizer, and I first saved my current settings, and then I optimized my settings including network adaptors, and I rebooted.  I also stretched the cable to the cable modem a little further to the left from the wall cable, so it there is more play in the cable modem cable.  It works fine now, but once I shut down for an extended period, I will have to see if the Siemens router goes online.  Perhaps recycling the cable modem by turning it on for a short period and then off with both LAN and cable disconnected might have fixed the problem.  I will now send out my weekly notes.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/05/04  Friday 4:05 P.M.:  A friend called at noon, and said he would be coming out to visit at 1:30 P.M..  I drank a cup of coffee, and I showered and cleaned up.  I waited outside for my friend to arrive.  My friend arrived at 1:30 P.M..  We came up to my apartment, and I gave my friend the grand tour of the apartment.  We chatted for a while.  I made lunch for us.  I microwaved a Pepperidge Farm 16 ounce chicken pot pie primavera for my friend, and I microwaved a Stouffer's 16 ounce chicken pot pie for myself.  My friend drank two Sprites in a frosted mug.  I drank some iced tea.  We chatted for a while.  My friend left at 3:45 P.M..  I will now shut down the computer, and I will go back to bed.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/05/04  Friday 11:00 A.M.:  I checked the mail.  I took the comforter and the blue and grey knit throw from the back side of the new sofa, and I put them along the top back of the green sofa.  I still have not received my rent bill this month.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will go to bed.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/05/04  Friday 10:35 A.M.:  While doing the backup, I heated and ate a 18.5 ounce bowl of Campbell's steak and potatoes soup, which I ate with a glass of iced tea.  After I did the Automated System Recovery Backup from the C: to the D: drive, I backed up the non system C: files, the My Documents files, and the music files.  I then ran Norton Disk Doctor on the C: and D: drives.  I then ran Norton Speed Disk on the C: drive.  I next ran Norton Antivirus 2004 on the entire system.  I went outside briefly.  I replaced the Kensington Wireless mouse batteries with two new AAA Energizer batteries.  They system seems to be running just fine.  I also did my apartment vacuuming while running the computer maintenance programs.  Earlier this morning, Norton Internet Security 2004 stopped hacker attempts a number of times of Netbus Trojan.  I find it peculiar that it is so easy for an intruder to get through Optimum Online's security procedures, since every time I boot up, Optimum assigns a new IP address.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/05/04  Friday 7:05 A.M.:  I ran Ad-aware SE and Norton Win Doctor.  I will now do a system restore backup and then I will run disk cleanup.  I will then do a full automatic system recovery backup from the C: drive to the D: drive.  This will take about an hour.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/05/04  Friday 6:45 A.M.:  I went to http://www.smokemcheapcigarettes.com/ , and I ordered seven cartons of Seneca Ultra Lights 100s for $11 each carton plus $1.20 a carton priority mail shipping for $85.40 total.  I plan to quit smoking some time in the near future, but it is easier to try to quit when one has cigarettes at the right time.  Hopefully this will be my last cigarette order.  I chatted with a friend.  I noticed at the Food Emporium that ground sirloin beef is $2.99 a pound and whole Purdue oven stuffer chickens are .79 a pound.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/05/04  Friday 6:00 A.M.:  I went out after the last message.  I went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I sat out at various locations.  I used the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Greenwich Avenue.  I drove down by the waterfront.  I then went by the Food Emporium, and I bought two Pepperidge Farm www.pepperidgefarm.com 16 ounce alfredo chicken pot pies and two chicken primavera chicken pot pies for $2.50 each, and four Stouffer's www.stouffers.com 16 ounce chicken pot pies for $1.66 each, a 16.5 bottle of Monari balsamic vinegar for $2.99, a large piece of Norwegian Jarlsberg cheese at $4.99 a pound $12.18, and a 64 ounce bottle of Heinz distilled white vinegar for $2.59 for $35.30 total.  I then returned home, and I put my purchases away.  I put some more Heinz white vinegar in the bowl by the center lamp on the window shelf in the living room for odor control.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/05/04  Friday 2:55 A.M.:  I finished my house cleaning and watering the plants.  I still have to do the vacuuming.  I moved the large beige pillow from the middle of the green sofa to the middle of the new sofa with the other two beige pillows on either end.  I put the green pillow with the strawberry in the middle on the green sofa, so there is a wider area when one stretches out on the green sofa.  I threw out the garbage including the Braun coffee box.  I will now go out for some outdoors activity.  I guess this is part of being part of the Honorary New Amsterdam Night Watch.  It will take me a few minutes to dress warmly before going out, and I will turn off the computer.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/05/04  Friday 12:15 A.M.:  I took a 15 ounce can of Bumble Bee Alaska salmon, and I opened the lid, and I squeezed out the water with the lid.  I put the salmon on a plate, an I went through it bit by bit with my fingers looking for and removing any small bones.  I then put it in the CuisineArt food processor, and I seasoned it with Old Bay Seasoning, Celery salt, and Italian seasoning, and I ran the food processor for a short cycle about a half dozen times.  I then formed the salmon into two patties.  I left one on the plate, and I refrigerated the other in a Rubbermaid container.  I then rinsed a cup of Carolina enriched rice in a metal bowl underneath hot water, and I strained it in a wire strainer, and I rinsed it with hot water from the sink spray attachment.  I then put the rice in the China Village microwave rice steamer, and I added 14 ounces of water and two tablespoons of olive oil and a teaspoon of sesame oil.  I then put the inner and outer lids on it, and I put it in the General Electric microwave oven on high for 11 minutes.  I let it stand with the lids on it for five minutes outside the microwave oven to finish the cooking process.  11 minutes before the rice was done cooking, I put three tablespoons of olive oil in a medium fry pan on the front medium electric burner on medium high.  After about two minutes when the oil was heated, I turned the burner between medium high and medium electric heat.  I then put the salmon cake in the fry pan, and I cooked it for 4.5 minutes adding two pads of margarine, and then I flipped it carefully, and I cooked the other side for 4.5 minutes with two more pads of margarine.  While the other items were waiting to be done, I took a 14 ounce can of Green Giant green beans, and I put them in microwave proof plastic pot with lid with the can water, and I put them in the General Electric microwave oven, and I pressed the vegetable button.  When they were all done about the same time, I put half of the rice on a dinner plate with the cooked salmon cake, and I refrigerated the other half of the rice in a Rubbermaid container.  I strained the beans with a metal straining spoon, and I put them in a bowl with a couple of teaspoons of olive oil on them.  I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.  I will now do my house cleaning and watering the plants.  I will not vacuum until after 8 A.M. in the morning, so as not to disturb my neighbors.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/04/04  Thursday 10:40 P.M.:  I ate the 5 ounce can of Blue Diamond smoked almonds before going to bed this morning.  I had a telephone call from a friend this morning at about 10:30 A.M..  I woke up at noon.  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, toast with strawberry preserves, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I picked up my mail downstairs.  I tried starting the computer with the Siemens router connected, but it would not go online, so I started it with the cable modem connected directly to the computer, and it works fine that way.  I think Optimum Online www.optimumonline.net has changed the way the computer connects because even with the cable modem connected directly, it now takes more time to connect.  I made out a check to Northeast Utilities www.cl-p.com to pay my electricity bill.  I showered and cleaned up.  I went out, and I stopped by the Valley Road post office to mail my electricity payment.  I then made my 3 P.M. appointment.  I have to schedule a dental appointment at the Greenwich Hospital dental clinic after the first of the year.  I went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop and most everything is half price.  I then went by CVS on Greenwich Avenue, and I picked up a prescription.  I then went by the Greenwich Library, and I read the Greenwich Time.  I noticed that the October 2004 National Geographic magazine http://www.nationalgeographic.com/  has an article about the volcanoes in Hawaii, which I will have to read when I have time.  I returned home about 5 P.M., and I went back to bed.  I had a telephone call from a relative about 9:30 P.M..  CIO

Note: <888> 11/04/04  Thursday 4:35 A.M.:  I did a www.ussearch.com about my friend whom is posting poetry from prison, and judging from the same addresses posted a few years ago, I remembered he use to work for http://www.royaldoulton.com/ , so unless he is smuggling contraband in the China, I doubt if he did anything wrong.  However, it would explain when one sees him, there seems to be lots of British around.  I remember, he use to think he was King James of Scotland, but in my formal education, I have not heard of any recent monarchs in Scotland.  Whatever the case, more than likely he has come through the New York area over the years, and chosen not to look me up, since more than likely since he is from New York, he would know lots of other people.  Of course like me, he has cousins that look the same.  I also remembered he was friends of one of the members of the oldest families in Greenwich, Connecticut whom was majoring in law at UCLA, so more than likely if he got into trouble, he would have legal representation.  Whatever the case, I also had anther friend whom moved to California back in 1967, so maybe the two of them caught up with each other.  I guess Californians move so fast when they come back east, they forget about the people whom they once knew when overwhelmed by the millions of people whom live in this area.  A local observer told me I now look like Doug McClure when he use to make movies, but other people seem to still think I look like Peter Jennings.  My bio is still posted at my web site at http://www.geocities.com/mikelscott/resumee.htm , so after having posted it for 14 years, I do not think it will lead to gainful employment, so I will continue to volunteer in my own way.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/04/04  Thursday 3:10 A.M.:  I checked my cable connection where it comes out of the living room wall, and the two foot gold cable that went from the wall plate to the gold four way splitter that has three connections for television and one for the gold cable to the cable modem, and the cable to the wall plate connector seemed a bit looser than it should be.  I removed the wall plate, and I removed the cable feed to the wall plate, and I removed the two foot gold cable from the four way connector and cable wall plate, and I connected the cable feed directly to the four way gold connector, and I stuffed in a small hand towel in the wall plate metal housing to reduce the cold draft.  Also there is a cable without a screw thread connector that leads to the bedroom cable wall plate which does not work.  Possibly I could fix that in the future.  The cable speed is still about the same at 3.4 megs, but I turned off the Cable modem and the Siemens router for ten minutes, and I then with the computer turned on, I turned on the cable modem and then the Siemens router, and it connected up right away to the internet without any problems.  However, this is a slow time of day, so maybe Optimum does not have problems this time of day.  I put the two foot gold cable on the bottom right of the sweater closet in the hallway.  Well anyway without the wall plate connector, there should be less static on the cable modem connection as well as the television cable connections.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/04/04  Thursday 1:55 A.M.:  I reconnected the Siemens router, and it is now working fine with the Cable modem.  It seems that there might be some problem with the Optimum service when it is busier that prevents the Siemens router from working correctly.  Thus it would seem to me to be a Optimum Online www.optimum.net problem, which does not occur when its service is less busy.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/04/04  Thursday 1:35 A.M.:  I put away my laundry.  I made and ate my usual salad www.geocities.com/mikelscott/salad.htm .  I used a tin of sardines that I chopped instead of tuna fish.  For the cheddar cheese portion, I used Stop and Shop Swiss cheese.  I used all of the other regular ingredients.  I ate the salad with a glass of iced tea.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/03/04  Wednesday 11:50 P.M.:  A relative called at 7:30 A.M. this morning.  I was up at 4:30 P.M..  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with a sliced banana, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I picked up the mail downstairs.  I put clean linens on the bed in the bedroom.  I chatted with a relative.  I cleaned up, and I went out.  I took my Volvo for a drive on Interstate I-95 from exit 2 to exit 5 driving it up to 55 miles per hour to burn out the carbon from the spark plugs, since I normally do not drive much on the highway.  I stopped by at Staples in Old Greenwich, and I toured the store.  They do not sell a router with a printer server, but a regular router is $50 plus tax.  I then went to the Mobil Express car wash, and I had my Volvo washed for $5.  I then towel dried any remaining moisture with the blue towel I keep in the rear of the Volvo.  I then drove back to downtown Greenwich, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I used the bathroom at the Senior and Arts center, and I sat out at various locations.  I drove down by the waterfront.  None of the fishermen are there, so I guess the fishing season is over.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a loaf of Arnold Healthnut bread for $3.09, two 1 pound bars of Stop and Shop Swiss cheese for $3.69 each, four half gallons of Tropicana Premium light and healthy reduced calories orange juice with calcium for $2 each, three frozen Celeste Deluxe and three frozen Celeste Supreme six inch pizzas for buy one get two free for $2.49 each three, a 17 ounce bottle of Colavita aged balsamic sweet vinegar of Modena, Italy for $2.99, a 48 ounce container of Quaker old fashioned oatmeal for $3.99, a 18.5 ounce dented can of Campbell sirloin and beef soup for .60, a 10 quart package of Stop and Shop dried milk for $6.99, two 6.5 ounce dry cans one jumbo and one medium of California black pitted olives for .99 each, two quart jars of Stop and Shop strawberry preserves for $1.99 each, a 25 bag package of five different types of Twinings tea for $3.19, and two bulbs of regular garlic at $2.79 a pound for .67 for $47.84 total.  I then returned home, and I used my cart from my apartment to bring up the groceries.  I found someone's apartment keys on the east side door of the building, and I put them on the bulletin board by the mail room.  I started two loads of laundry, and I have 30 minutes to go on the dry cycle.  I also put $5 on my MacGray laundry card, and I have $14.05 remaining on the laundry card.  When I started up the primary computer, I tried starting it with the Siemens router attached, but it does not work.  It still does work connected directly to the cable modem.  Perhaps, I could try one of my other two older cable modems, but I do not think that is the problem.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/03/04  Wednesday 4:45 A.M.:  I ate a bowl of triscuts.  I watched some television.  I ate two black licorice twists.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will go to bed soon.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/03/04  Wednesday 4:00 A.M.:  I watched some Fox News on television.  It looks like both President Bush and Vice President Cheney www.georgewbush.com  are pretty much assured reelection.  There is some dispute about the Provincial ballots in Ohio, however statistically Bush Cheney would still win Ohio.   They are also leading in three of the remaining four states.  I decided that since the community room is frequently locked up within our locked building the food that I stocked up in the community room kitchen would not really be available, and most of my neighbors seem to have enough food.  Also since most all of the canned items are less than six month old, they are good for another six months to a years, so even though I am bored of looking at them, I decided I might use them during this upcoming winter, so I brought them back up to my apartment, and I put them back in their shelves to have available for use.  If they ever start to get too old, I can always take them over to Help A Neighbor at Christ Church on East Putnam Avenue.  Although currently I am in a balanced budget cycle, frequently unexpected events can throw off that budget.  Thus I will have the canned goods in reserve, and generally during the winter, I tend to eat more canned goods.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/03/04  Wednesday 1:20 A.M.:  I put three teaspoons of olive oil and three pads of margarine in my 10 inch omelet pan, and I heated it over medium high electric heat, and once the fat began to bubble, I lowered it to a little lower than medium.  I had already broken three eggs in a metal bowl, and I added a couple of tablespoons of milk, and I mixed it altogether with a whisk.  I added the egg mixture to the omelet pan, and I let it head until it was solid enough to flip over.  I then flipped it over with a spatula.  I then let it heat a little more until that side was cooked a little bit and it was puffy.  I then slid it on to a microwave proof plate, and I added two sliced plum tomatoes sliced into 3/16 inch thick slices and 10 slices of 1.5 inch by 1.5 inch by 3/16th inch thick slices of Stop and Shop Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese, and I put it all in the microwave oven with a microwave cover, and I heated it on reheat to melt the cheese and warm the tomatoes.  I then put the microwave proof plate with the open face omelet on another plate, and I sprinkled it with grated parmesan cheese and a few dashes of Italian seasoning.  I also added two slices of toast with two slices each of margarine, and I cut the toast in half.  I ate it all with a glass of iced tea.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/03/04  Wednesday 12:15 A.M.:  I went out after the last message, and I went by the Greenwich Library.  I chatted with a British citizen as I was leaving.  I then walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue including the train station area, and I sat out at various locations.  At the beginning of the walk, I mailed my Cablevision and my Optimum online cable modem and my Energy Winter Protection plan form at the outdoor box at the central Greenwich post office.  They are putting the Christmas lights out on Greenwich Avenue.  I then drove down by the waterfront.  I then went by the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street.  I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought four Chiquita bananas slightly green at $1.46 a pound for $1.01 and two dented 18.8 ounce cans of Campbell's steak and potatoes soup for .60 each for $2.21 total.  I then returned home.  From the community room kitchen cupboard, I took out the two cans of Campbell's New England clam chowder and brought them back up to my apartment, and I put in the steak and potatoes soup in the community room kitchen cupboard.  I then came upstairs, and I drank some iced tea.  I studied the Fox News http://www.foxnews.com/ web site and from the U.S. House drop down menu, one can get the results for the Presidential race state by state.  From this list of electoral votes http://www.fec.gov/pages/elecvote.htm and from what I can assume from what I know that the more urban democratic areas report in sooner and the more rural republican areas report in later, it presently looks like President Bush is doing well in Florida, but it looks like Kerry will pick up California.  From all of the other states I looked at in Wisconsin and New Hampshire the races are very close with Kerry slightly ahead, thus Wisconsin could determine the outcome of the election.  That is my analysis of the Fox News information without watching television.  Of course Alaska and Hawaii might tip the difference.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/02/04  Tuesday 7:50 P.M.:  I had a call from a friend today whom did not know whether he was leaving town or not.  I slept until 6 P.M..  I ate breakfast of oatmeal, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I picked up the mail downstairs.  I chatted with a friend, and I left two messages with relatives.  I made out checks to pay my Optimum Online cable modem and my Cablevision service, and I will mail the payments when I go out.  I also filled out the Winter Protection Plan form.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will go out.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/02/04  Tuesday 6:25 A.M.:  I did Whois search on www.prisonerexpress.org and it seems to be coming out of Cornell University www.cornell.edu with links to the Huntington Library http://www.huntington.org/ , and we all know that the President of Taiwan and Taipei attended Cornell and that the Huntington Library is out on the west coast closer to China, and I know the individual involved was the first person I recommended to Microsoft as an employee, and the person involved use to hang out around Howard Hughes www.hughes.com group of people, so maybe it is just another way of trying to sell me DirectTV, which I am not allowed to have, since I live in a public housing complex.  I do know the individual so called involved as a prisoner use to be the Disk Jockey in the volunteer church radio station in Santa Cruz, California near Fort Ord, supposedly which radio station as a collection of over a million old records.  Whatever the case, I would tend to agree some of the current music is not what we are use to listening too, but I suppose much was the same with our current generation when they were younger.  I happen to know of a bar in Laguna Beach, California near where the head of Xerox Parc whom looked like Nelson Rockefeller lived, and Laguna has a street named Hughes boulevard, so possibly if the person were in prison, it would be by choice or for protective custody.  It does not say on the web site which prison or in what country.  However, there used to be a line of poetry "We are all just prisoners here, of our own device" from the Eagles song "The Hotel California" which also happens to be across from the bar in Laguna Beach where I celebrated Ronald Reagan's victory 24 years ago on election night.  Thus they must be having so much fun out in California, they don't want to be bothered with nerds on the east coast until their ground starts shaking or they don't get their high tech pay checks.  Whatever the case, I have no intentions of leaving my comfortable living accommodations just to see what the other side of the country does for lifestyle when realistically, I am only 20 miles from Manhattan, which is a lot easier to get to than the strawberry fields of California.  When we were younger and more foolish the prisoner in question and I once walked all the way down most of Broadway barefoot in a foot of snow, just to show that we were use to colder weather when no one was around.  Of course, I once use to pretend to be the Barefoot Mailman in Florida too.  I went outside briefly, and noticed another Housing Authority personnel was around.  I checked the kitchen in the community room to make sure that the supplies were still there.  I watched some television about Alexander Hamilton.  I suppose a little bit before 7 A.M., I will drive over to vote, so I can sleep all day.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/02/04  Tuesday 4:25 A.M.:  I am just doing a little bit of routine computer work.  If one studies this site, it will show what can happen to one, when one loses track of their friends http://www.prisonerexpress.org/deception.html .  If one searches the last name "Eldert", it will show the name of someone that I once knew and many other people once knew, but perhaps it is not the same person, but by the writing it sounds like the same person.  Of course what prison it is, is open to conjecture.  Alas, I am not a lawyer, and I have no financial resources to use towards such a cause, but just emailing a few friends and contacts to look into the matter.  I ate 12 Town House crackers with twelve 1.5 inch by 1.5 inch by 1/8th inch slices of Stop and Shop Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/02/04  Tuesday 12:55 A.M.:  Happy Election Day.  I cleaned the Propert kitchen scale, and I left it on one of the little wooden shelves on the left side of the kitchen.  Occasionally starting this time of year we get members of the wayfaring public traveling into our building and checking out the community room kitchen for supplies.  In the past I left food in it that was not perishable.  I put about 30 pounds of various canned foods and other food supplies in the shelves of the right cabinet in the community room kitchen in case any stranded travelers need a cup of soup or canned vegetable or fruit in their travels.  I also put four cups and four spoons with the other items.  Alas I have no pork and beans.  I will have to remember to check the cupboard in a month to see if it was used.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/01/04  Monday 11:00 P.M.:  I made and ate my usual salad www.geocities.com/mikelscott/salad.htm .  Instead of tuna fish, I used a tin of sardines that I chopped.  For the cheddar cheese portion, I used Stop and Shop Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese.  I used all of the other regular ingredients.  I ate the salad with a glass of iced tea.  I also ate three black licorice twists.  I went outside, and I reset the odometer on my Volvo to zero miles.  I checked out the community room and the community room kitchen.  They have the electric fan going in there to keep it warm along with the central heating, so it is warm and comfortable, but I think they should turn off the electric fan at night to save energy.  I should have donated the old Royal coffee maker to the community room kitchen, since there is not a coffee maker in there.  There are a couple of very old jars of coffee in the community room kitchen refrigerator that I donated a long time ago, and also some cans of coffee in the cupboard.  I also noticed that the two palm plants in the community room kitchen are plants from my apartment that I donated.   Also the big palm plant in the green Mexican earthenware pot in the center window alcove in the community room is one that I donated.  Since I keep my apartment window drapes drawn, the plants were not doing well in my apartment.  I still have the one large pathos plant and two small miniature palms that manage to survive in my apartment.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/01/04  Monday 9:00 P.M.:  I was up at noon today.  I ate breakfast of oatmeal, toast with strawberry jam, orange juice, vitamins, supplements, and coffee.  I went downstairs, and I picked up the mail.  I made out a check to pay my Verizon telephone bill.  I cleaned up, and I went out.  I went by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street.  I then went by the central Greenwich post office, and I mailed my Verizon telephone payment, and I obtained a United States Post Office money order at .90 cost to pay my GEICO www.geico.com automobile insurance payment, and I mailed it.  I straightened up the Bush Cheney sign www.georgewbush.com in front of the post office which had been knocked askew by some passer by.  I then went to my 4 P.M. appointment.  I also set up an appointment in the future to apply for the NEON energy assistance program.  I then walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out at various locations.  During my walk, I went by the Greenwich Hardware store and from the 70% off rack, I bought a Good Cook adjustable cheese slicer for $1.20, a Good Cook grill turner for $1.20 and a Good Cook Angled Tongs for .75 plus .19 tax for $3.34 total.  I also stopped by CVS, and I bought ten 2.75 ounce tins of Beach Cliff sardines in water for .49 each, two 19 ounce bottles of Ajax antibacterial orange dish washing soap .88 each, two 26 ounce Windex multi-surface sparkling orange spray bottle containers for $1.99 each, and two 6 ounce cans of Blue Diamond smokehouse almonds for buy one get one free for $3.19 both plus .34 tax for $14.17 total.  I then completed my walk.  I used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center.  I then went by the Greenwich Library, but I forgot to read the Greenwich Time.  I then went by the Exxon gasoline station next to the Greenwich Library, and I bought $9.25 of premium gasoline at $2.519 gallon for 14.1 miles per gallon usage.  When I returned home, I reset the Volvo trip computer, and I averaged 11 miles per hour driving around town.  I will hang the new kitchen utensils from the steel rack hanging from the kitchen ceiling.  I received a telephone call from the local republican headquarters, and I told them I would be voting for www.georgewbush.com tomorrow.  When I went out this afternoon, I noticed somebody had retrieved the blue corduroy love seat from besides the dumpster, so I hope someone is comfortable.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/01/04  Monday 2:20 A.M.:  I put a few teaspoons of olive oil in a small frying pan, and I heated it over medium high electric heat.  I then turned it down to medium, and I sautéed a five ounce can of Armour Vienna sausages with a few dashes of black pepper.  I then ate them with some Bournier Dijon mustard.  I also had some iced tea.  I will now shut down the computer, and I will go to bed.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/01/04  Monday 1:50 A.M.: I finished going through my email.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/01/04  Monday 1:30 A.M.: I ate a bowl of triscuts and two black licorice twists.  I turned on the television, but it is the usual children's entertainment programming.  CIO

Note: <888> 11/01/04  Monday 12:25 A.M.:  Maybe Michael Louis Scott's Web Site and Directory should have an executive dinner at Greenwich, Connecticut Chamber of Commerce Morton's the Steakhouse which seems to be now at 35 Church Street where Lucas' steakhouse use to be.  Alas, it would not be good for my cholesterol or budget.  The last time I looked at Costco www.costco.com about six months ago, a New York strip steak was $8.59 a pound.  Also at http://www.stewleonards.com/ about two months ago, filet mignon cost about $6.59 a pound, but it would cost big bucks to drive to Stews.  CIO
