10/29/20 Thursday 10:10 P.M. I configured the Android TV device on the 49 inch Samsung television. I have it connected with an always on LAN cable, so it is faster than with wireless. I have it powered up by the front switch on the power strip to the right of the television. I hooked up a small wired keyboard and wired mouse to it to make it easier to use. I installed Netflix, Amazon Video, Amazon Music, Tubi, Hulu, Mobdro, ESPN, CBS All Access but Disney Plus will not work on it, but the regular Disney app for Android does work on it. Its remote control is simple enough to figure out how to use. It works off HDMI 1 off the Samsung television. Thus one has multiple viewing options on the big screen television. I went outside and drank a brewed coffee. I will now go outside again.

A lot of their coffee K cups are sale for half price or more. I bought four buy one get one free of 12 packs of Gold Emblem cappuccino French vanilla for $8.99 for each two packages, two 10 packs of Dunkin Donuts decaf for $4.99 each pack and a 10 pack of Dunkin Donuts vanilla for $4.99 less a CVS $5 off $30 mail coupon for $26.95 total. I then sat out briefly across the street. I returned home. I now have 12 hazelnut, 12 Nantucket, 6 Dunkin Donuts decaf, and 6 cappuccino French Vanilla cups in the drawer beneath the Kitchen Aid K cup brewer. I put the box of spare hazelnut K cups on the floor of the right living closet, and the other k cups are on the floor of the left living room closet. I will now go outside and drink a brewed cappuccino French Vanilla coffee.

I called up Optimum, and after a while, I was able to get someone that down graded my Cable Television service, so I still get Fox News and Fox Business News, but the entire three service package that was $274 a month is now down to $154 a month for a $120 savings. On a minor note on orange parkas, back in the winter of 1975, when Fred Von Mierers and George Nichols and myself moved Helen Kress Williams from the remaining gate house at her 40 acre estate on the waterfront in Oyster Bay near Sagamore Hill to Locust Valley next to the Fire House over three zero degree nights with a U-Haul trailer, I took a break at Sporters Pub in Locust Valley nearby, and all of the young males were wearing orange parkas, so I thought it might have something to do with House of Nassau in Nassau County or maybe with www.princeton.edu . Here in Greenwich wearing orange means one works for Parks and Recreation. Our mutual friend in those days from Syracuse might have thought it was the Syracuse Orange Men. CIO

10/21/20 Wednesday 3:50 P.M. On the Hisense Smart TV, the always on LAN connection quit working. I tried changing the Always on net switch, and that did not fix it. I tried the nearby computer LAN cable, and it worked, so it was not the LAN connector on the Hisense TV. I then rebooted the wireless net switches and that fixed the problem. I am now listing to Russia Today in English off the MOBDRO app. It does not sound much different than American television. I will now go outside again. CIO

I had an HDMI to 3 HDMI splitter, so I hooked it up the Samsung 49 inch television, so both the Amazon Fire Stick and the mini computers to its left can be connected on I believe HDMI 1 on the Samsung television with the Cable Box on HDMI 2. I am now listening to BBC 2 with their version of "The Antiques Road Show". I will now go outside again. I have a Amazon Fire Stick available on the Vizio television in the bedroom which I will hook up to "MOBDRO" shortly. CIO
10/21/20 Wednesday 11:45 A.M. I chatted with a friend. I disconnected the computer HDMI cable from the 49 inch Samsung television, and I moved the Amazon Firestick from the TV to the left of the primary work computer to the Samsung TV, and I used basically a slightly different method to set it up with "MOBDRO" https://www.juststream.io/how-to-install-mobdro-on-firestick/ , so it is now working just fine on the Samsung 49 inch television. I might make it easier to switch back to the a computer connection on it, once I did out a two foot HDMI extension cable, I think I have some where. I will now go outside and drink an instant coffee. !!!!!! 10/21/20 Wednesday 8:50 A.M. On the Android Smart TV it is really easy to install "MOBDRO" internet TV. On the Android television, one simply installs the "Downloader" app from the Google Play store, and then opens the Downloader app, and enter the URL "https://www.mobdro.to/mobdro.apk" which downloads the "MOBDRO" app, and then one selects the downloader to let it install it on the Android Smart TV, and it shows up in one's apps on the television. The only setting on the app that I had to change was to change a setting from phone to television. It has lots of free television including Fox television and the BBC. I guess if one changed its language in settings to another language, one would get the programs in that language. I will now go outside again. A friendly Norwegian neighbor told me about it. CIO

10/17/20 Saturday 11:25 P.M. I went outside again. It is 43 degrees Fahrenheit outside right now. Thus I think it is safe to activate the Freezing Norwegian Patrol downtown and Siberia Sam's Social Club. My father's name was Louis Dale Scott, and since Dale is a Norwegian name, I might be part Norwegian, besides Scottish, English, and Dutch. They used to fly the Norwegian Flag at the Atlantic Shores beach club next to the Casa Marina Hotel in Key West, also in fall of 1976, when it was 21 degrees Fahrenheit down in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the King of Norway was down there on vacation. Also there was a great big house in the center of Nantucket that flew a huge Norwegian flag. Norway also has a lot of ships that seem to travel the whole world besides all of their North Sea Oil which gives them no debt but a sovereign wealth fund of over a trillion dollars, but to get part of it, one has to be a Norwegian Citizen. Fred Von Mierers' rent controlled apartment was at 420 East 49th Street was a block east away from the Norwegian consulate in the Random House publishing building that also housed the Swedish consulate. A roommate at www.lfc.edu had a father that owned Random House. Also in Kennebunk, Maine, they have a Norway Savings Bank. There used to be a lot of Norwegians in Brooklyn, but with their North Sea Oil wealth, they seem to have moved to other locations. I even stayed with a Norwegian family in Lanzarote back in February 1972. I also had a classmate at Greenwich Country Day School whose family were in the Norwegian shipping business and distantly related to the Norwegian Royal family. When I visited the Albertville Olympics in 1992, the largest spectators were from Bergen, Norway. I also used to know Norwegians in Illinois, when I attended Lake Forest College which can also be quite cold. Back in February 1983, when I bought a round trip ticket on Scandanavian Airlines at J.F.K. to Stockholm, Sweden with a week's stay at the S.A.S. hotel there all for $800 cash, the jet landed at the military airport in Oslo, Norway, and the S.A.S. hotel told me, my ticket was only a one way ticket to Stockholm and no hotel stay. That is what messed up my travel plans, so I ended up spending a couple weeks or more at the Best Western Hotel behind the Royal Palace without eating hardly anything, until my father paid my hotel bill and return flight via Copenhagen which after a week at Easter Time at J.F.K. airport, I returned back to Nantucket and that December returned back to Greenwich. Well at least I did not freeze to death. When I first arrived in Oslo, there was over six feet of snow on the ground, which might be why the jet did not land in Stockholm. Since I do not have a modern auto speaker system, I installed it with the Bluetooth Jamo speaker connected with the wire that came with the Amazon Echo Auto. Both devices play off the power cup between the front seats powered by the plug in the back seat which has to have the ignition turn on. I set it up with the Amazon Alexa device on my Apple Iphone 6S Plus. I have the Jamo speaker also enabled in bluetooth on the Iphone 6S Plus. If the Iphone picks up wireless it works just fine for both music and chatting hands free through the internet. I chatted with a friend from the car. Yes, one talks with it like the Amazon Displays. I then bought buy one get one free of 150 count 500 mg cranberry pills for $32.49 less a $5 off $30 coupon from the previous purchase and less $10 bonus bucks from the previous purchase for $16.49 total. I then bought three 12 packs of www.coke.com Zero Sugar for $13 plus $1.80 can deposit for $14.80 total. I then used the bathroom at the CFCD coffee shop. I drove down to the Senior and the Arts Center. I sat out for a while. I walked the lower Greenwich Avenue area. I bought an Ace's High scratch card at Zen Stationary for a dollar, and I lost. I used the bathroom at Le Petit Cotien. I bought with my www.starbucks.com card a sausage and egg English muffin for $3.70, and I ate it front of the senior and the arts center. I then sat out for a while longer. I then went to the Acme grocery store at 160 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought two six packs of Thomas' Everything bagels for $2.99 each six pack, five 11 ounce Maria Callender chicken alfredo bowls for $2 each, and a 42 ounce Smart Balance spread for $6.99 for $22.97 total. I then returned home, and I put away my purchases. I put the green bag and cart back in the car, and I drank an instant coffee. I chatted with the friend that got the snow shovel. He will leave it in his car for when he visits Vermont in the winter. I filed this report. I will now go outside again. CIO

On the Apple Imac Mini late 2012 on the primary work computer setup, I was able to uninstall the old version of Norton Internet Security by selecting Go and Applications and right clickiing Norton Internet Security to move to Trash, and then the uninstall program for it came up, and uninstalled Norton Internet Security, and then I rebooted, and I was able to install the new license for Norton Internet Security from https://my.norton.com/extspa/account/subscriptions from the ten license subscription here https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085WWLW2N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_d_asin_title_o01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . I bought 20 four for $5 5 ounce Bumble Bee solid white albacore tuna fish and a 7 ounce Maxwell instant coffee for $2.99 less a $5 off $20 CVS coupon from a previous purchase and $5 bonus bucks from a previous purchase for $17.99 total. I then bought three 20 ounce Gold Emblem almonds for $6.99 each less a $4 off $20 coupon from the previous purchase and less $11 Bonus Bucks from the previous purchase for $6.97 total. I then used the bathroom at the CFCF coffee shop which was quite busy. I then went by the Acme grocery store at 160 West Putnam Avenue. I bought a five gallon bottle of Primo Vermont Spring water with bottle return for $7.49, a half gallon of Blue Diamond unsweetened almond milk for $3.79, a 8 pack of Jimmy Dean frozen sausage, egg, and cheese croissants for $13.19, two 4 packs of White Castle turkey and smoked cheeseburgers for $3.99 each four pack, a 12 ounce Hormel meat loaf with tomato sauce for $5.99, a 24 ounce Simply Mashed sour cream and chives mashed potatoes for $4.29, a 8 pack of Signature hotdog buns for $1.19, and four buy one get one free of Thomas' English muffins for $8.58 all, and a 2 pound bag of Mandarin oranges for $4.99 and a dime for a bag for $60.58 total. That might not be accurate since the Acme cash register receipt is never clear. I then returned home, and I put away my purchases. For October 2020, I paid my http://optonline.net/ Digital Cable TV, Optimum Boost Plus, Optimum Voice, and my http://www.verizon.net/ bill and my www.eversource.com electricity account. My current Optimum bill was $271 which is about $105 for high speed Cable Modem Internet, $35 for Optimum Voice long distance and about $131 for premium Cable TV. However that includes $50 in discounts for all three packages which covers the two cable boxes which are about $12 and taxes other fees. I printed out my Microsoft Sunset Income versus Spending report for September 2020, and I have it ready to mail to an interested relative. I will go downstairs and mail it now. CIO
