I ate it across the street in the small park. I then drove down to the Board of Education parking lot. I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com . I walked the lower Greenwich Avenue area. I sat out at various locations. Before I left town, I used the bathroom again at Starbucks. I then went by the Acme grocery store. I bought ten Dannon 5.3 ounce raspberry yogurt and ten Dannon 5.3 ounce mixed berry yogurt for .50 each, four 7 ounce www.kraft.com shredded five Italian cheese for $1.88 each and two 8 ounce Signature grated parmesan and Romano cheese for $3.29 each for $24.10 total. The light blue Acrylic rug in the sitting area is a bit dirty, since it was in the kitchen for years, but when I have time, I have some rug cleaning powder that might improve its appearance. We then drove along the waterfront. We toured the new Cos Cob Power Plant park which is quite nice. I used the bathroom there. We drove over to Old Greenwich. Feinstond's Ace hardware store did not have the fire extinguisher in stock, so I will pick it up when it arrives. At the Sunoco station across from King's grocery store they have a special blue 2004 Volvo XC 70 wagon with 145,000 miles for sale for $4,500. It looks to be in very good shape. We then drove out to the picnic area at the southwest corner at Tod's Point, and we ate our lunches. One does not need a beach pass after 5 P.M. or as of November 1, 2018. I went outside. I setup the Asus Eee PC on top of the Apple Ipad 2 to the left side the Queen Anne chair at the hallway entrance, and I am updating it and working with it. It is a bit slow, but it does work, and it is relatively small. In trying to run my United States of America simple third world news room, I do the best based on what I can afford over 30 years of living in Connecticut State housing on extremely low income of SSI disability, so my viewpoint might be different than some of the wealthier people in the area. However, there are a lot more people in the world in my boat if you get my snow drift. CIO

10/18/18 Thursday 1:45 A.M. I turned off all the fans in the apartment to make it less noisy and a bit warmer. The two air conditioners are turned off, but I do not take them out until the last week of October in case we get any warmer days. I am testing the Gateway 17 inch NV73 by first listening to Amazon "Frank Sinatra's 100 greatest hits that I bought a few years ago for a dollar. I am now listening to Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops which started out with the "Yellow Rose of Texas". The Gateway 17 inch NV73 laptop seems to be working just fine with the two laptop coolers underneath it. Maybe I should not risk damaging it by replacing its cooler fan, but leave it as is for now. However, that is still an option. In the old days before the internet, I used to check out ten Broadway CDs from the Greenwich Library collection and put them in my football liquor case from the Greenwich Hospital thrift shop and play them when I was up all night. My downstairs neighbor looked like Pat Nixon, and she seemed to enjoy the music. I guess it looked like I was always carrying a bottle of liquor into the Greenwich Library. They suddenly changed to an "American in Paris", playing "the March of the Toreadors" which is really Spanish. In my research I found out that 1.5 billion people speak Spanish, but they never tell us English speaking people anything. They started a Spanish language satellite network in Greenwich, Connecticut about 35 years ago, but I do not know Spanish although I have visited Spain, so I have no idea what they are broadcasting to the world that brings so many of them up into the Nordic north. Since Consuela Vanderbilt married one of the wealthiest land owners in Spain, possibly here family has a few friends. Of course after the Spanish revolution in the 1930s, all of the establishment in Spain aparently fled elsewhere. CIO

10/18/18 Thursday 12:20 A.M. In installing the laptop computer cooler underneath the Gateway 17 inch NV73 laptop, I did not prop up its rear legs on the laptop cooler to give it better ventilation. It was overheating, but now with the rear legs propped up and second laptop cooler on top of, it should be cool enough to use for regular service. When it was on the oak dining table, it was in front of the living room air conditioner and fans which is a cooler location. On the laptop table to left of the primary work computer, it is a warmer location. Possibly the Gateway 17 inch NV73 laptop has a motherboard fan that is not functioning to cool it. It worked just fine in the cooler location. There is more heat in its current location, because it is above the primary www.hp.com work computer. Of course once winter sets in, it does tend to get a bit cooler in my apartment, if you get my wsnow drift. I went outside, and I drank a 9.5 cold home made Mocha Frappucinno coffee. CIO

I took the Dell Dimension E6400, the Dell Dimension E6410, the primary Apple laptop with High Sierra, and the hardly used Acer combination laptop and tablet, and I put them on the left hallway bookcase with their chargers and wireless mice along with the external DVD play, so only the Gateway 17 inch NV73 laptop in on the left computer desk with its accessories such as the wireless mouse, external speaker, headset, bluetooth ear piece, and Netgear wireless connector. Thus it is easier to use in the new setup. I also took the older Apple laptop and the Acer netbook and their chargers off the bedroom desk, and store them in the same left bookcase in the hallway. Thus both of those work areas are a little less cluttered. I can always put them out, if I need to travel or use them which does not seem like it will happen soon. The stuff that was in that bookcase, I moved to the shelf above. I will now go outside again. CIO

Although I have a parking meter card with funds, some of the electronic parking meters do not work because of worn out batteries which I found out later at the Town Hall parking facility. I discussed my view of finance with someone from Boston. 10/15/18 Monday 7:55 A.M. I got the Gateway NV73 laptop turning on with the power button. I updated its latest bios. While configuring Windows 7 product activication came up, and the product key on the Microsoft label would not work. I tried installing Windows 8 over it, however once it was installed the laptop started over heating and turning off. I put a USB laptop cooling fan underneath it which solved that problem. I did a low level format with the Seagate Utilities writing 3% of zeros on the drive to get rid of any possible boot sector viruses. I am now installing a fresh copy of Windows 8 on it. 10/15/18 Monday 3:50 A.M. On the Northgate NV73 laptop, I tried resetting the memory and the hard drive to no avail. Since the Northgate laptop worked for an hour after the half hour overheating method linked below, I will now try overheating it for two hours to hopefully reset the solder connections on the video chip to get to work properly. However, in fiddling with it, I discovered that when the laptop cover is only opened by about two inches, it does boot up which it did twice. Once it boot up, it stay on with the cover fully opened. I am now installing the Windows 7 updates on it. I will mark the exact dimension to have it opened to boot after that. I went outside. I will now shower and clean up. CIO

I then bought two red Smart Living three LED flashlights for $2.49 each and .32 tax for $5.30 total. I then went to the Putnam Shell at 401 West Putnam Avenue. I then toured the store some more. I bought two 9.5 ounce Doritos spicy chili corn chips for $2.99 each and two 16 ounce Picante taco chips sauce for $1.99 each for $9.96 total. I then drove down to the Board of Education parking lot. I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com . I sat out in front of the Senior and the Arts Center. I then bought two more red Smart Living 3 LED flashlights for $2.49 each and .32 tax for $5.30 total. I then drove over to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue. I bought two 12 ounce CVS Gold Emblem hazelnut ground coffee for $5 each and two 64 ounce Ocean Spray crangrape juice for $2.49 each for $14.98 total. I used the bathroom at CVS. I then drove down to the Board of Education parking lot. I walked the lower Greenwich Avenue area, and I sat out at various locations. I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com twice, and I chatted with a Starbucks regular. I sat out until Starbucks closed. I then returned home. I sat out briefly. I used my little folding cart from the back of the Volvo wagon to bring up the 45 pound container of bottled Poland Spring water. I then put it back in the rear of the car. While upstairs on the first trip, I put a 100 centime or thin European coin in my Volvo remote key to make better electrical contact with more pressure, and it now works just fine. I sat outside briefly. I put away my purchases. I installed two new alkaline D batteries in each new red 3 LED flashlight, and I put them on the left bookcase at the kitchen entrance. 10/04/18 Thursday 11:10 P.M. I fiddled with the www.apple.com Imac 7.1 for a while. I have www.skype.com setup on it to work with the www.microsoft.com USB headset. Although I am half Dutch American, the only time I visited Amsterdam was for three days before the 1992 Albertville, France Winter Olympics. While there, I learned that Philips a Dutch company is also the world's largest electronics company with a major presence in Asia. Alas, I do not speak any Dutch. However, in exploring nearby Westchester County in the old day, I noticed on Interstate I-287, www.klm.com better known as Royal Dutch airlines has a rather large office complex over there, so there must be a bit of money in exporting and importing and shipping horticultural products around the world. 10/03/18 Wednesday 8:40 P.M. I have the www.apple.com 2007 Imac-HDD setup with all of my free Apple apps. I also put www.openoffice.org for Apple on it. To install it one has to change the security settings to allow apps not from the Apple store. It works just fine with the www.hp.com wireless laser printer plug and play. I also installed www.skype.com for Apple on it. I moved the www.microsoft.com USB headset from the Jide Remix desktop on the big screen 49 inch Insignia television the Apple Imac. I also moved the Logitech M570 wireless keyboard and wireless mouse from the backup HP desktop to the Apple Imac, and I installed its Apple setipoint program. I put the basic Logitech wireless keyboard and wireless mouse on the HP backup computer. It all seems to be running just fine. To use it with the LAN cable. one has to turn on the secondary Network switch four switches back on the power strip on the far right power strip of the primary work computer setup. The Apple Imac turns on with the rear left back side switch. However, I have its power cable connected to the center power strip behind it which turns on with the second switch from the left power strip. To support High Sierra and possibly Mojave operating systems, one would need the Imac 2009 model or later and possibly have to buy the Lion operating system to upgrade for $20 from the Apple web store. One with High Sierra already installed on a later model costs $100 more. I think to install Mojave, one needs Sierra or maybe High Sierra. I went outside twice. I chatted with a relative. To Buy Lion for $20 for higher versions, probably would not work since Lion needs a 2009 Imac. Still El Capitan supports all of the free Apple apps that I am now installing. I sat out in the park across the street. I chatted with the new Orvis store across the street. I went back into CVS, and I used the bathroom. I then drove down to the Board of Education parking area. I walked the lower Greenwich Avenue area. I toured the www.apple.com store. I sat out for a while chatting with a www.starbucks.com regular. I then drove the Starbucks regular to get some diet www.coke.com at CVS on Greenwich Avenue for three 12 packs for $12 plus $1.80 can deposit and tax. I then dropped the Starbucks regular off and helped deliver the Coke. I then went by the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a five pack of Stop and Shop hearts of Romaine lettuce for $5.99, a banana for .49 a pound for .25, and a Vidalia sweet onion for $1.69 a pound for $1.28 for $7.52 total.
