09/30/25 Tuesday 7:50 P.M. I ate four White Castle cheeseburger sliders with a glass of watered down diet cranberry juice. I will now shut down the HP laptop computer, and I will go to bed.
09/30/25 Tuesday 7:35 P.M. I channel surfed. The car was ready at 4:30 P.M. My neighbor drove me a half mile to Riverside Towing. There was no charge for the additional work. I was told to take the car for a long drive and come back tomorrow morning for a quick code scan set which will only take a minute, and then I can go to emissions again. I drove around back country twice and out and back to Tod's Point for 40 miles total. I used the bathroom at CVS and Tod's Point. I went to the Stop and Shop at 361 West Putnam Avenue. I bought a 16 pack of White Castle cheeseburger sliders for $14.99, and a four pack of yogurt for $7.29 and a 64 ounce container of Almond Breeze vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $4.49 for $26.77 total. I then returned home. I picked up the mail. I chatted with a friend. I put the food away. I filed this report.
09/30/25 Tuesday 3:45 P.M. I have only been as far North in Maine as Bowdoin College Welcome to Bowdoin College | Bowdoin College . However, my seventh grade English teacher at Greenwich Country Day school used to ski at Sugarloaf Mountain Sugarloaf.com | Sugarloaf up in Maine.
09/30/25 Tuesday 3:40 P.M. I have driven through Vermont before in August 1980 all the way to Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I recall around 1971 visiting in Burlington, Vermont. I have a friend in this area that lived once in Stowe, Vermont. Also the family that owned Le Languedoc out on Nantucket also had a bar called Sister Kate's in Stowe, Vermont. Even, though there is a governor Scott of Vermont Home | Office of Governor Phil Scott, I am not aware that he might be a relative up there in the North Country.
The Best of Vermont from The Vermont Country Store to your door! is up there as is Shelburne Farms . To attend the University of Vermont For People and Planet | The University of Vermont at the local Vermont rate, one has to be a legal Vermont resident. Stephan Rockefeller, Nelson's son used to be the dean of Middlebury College Middlebury before he went into the Religion business.

When I knew Myles McGough, when he graduated from the Taft School with me, he was part of a commune in St. Johnsbury, Vermont; where they restored Liberty Ship hatch covers into coffee tables. I guess there are other people in Vermont that do different crafts in the more rurual part of this country.

They are a half a mile away, so they will pick me up and drive me over there. I think it might be too late today to do emissions on the other side of town.

09/29/25 Monday 5:00 P.M. In 1968, I was out on Nantucket for a weekend. In 1969 and 1970, I was out on Nantucket for another weekend. In 1975 in the summer, I was out on Nantucket for about three weeks. In 1976 I was out on Nantucket for about a week in the summer. In 1977, I was out on Nantucket for the whole season From April to November for about eight months. In 1978, I was out on Nantucket for the whole season from May 1978 to November 1978 for about eight months. In 1983, I was out on Nantucket from April 1983 to December 1983 for about eight months. I think also I was on Nantucket for a week in the spring of 1979. Living out on Nantucket is like being a sailor lost at sea with no contact with the real world. I think there secretly people from California whom try to blend in out on Nantucket.

Once I was taking a picture of Walker's Point, and when I turned around there was somebody that look a bit like him standing behind me. Being a bit near sighted, I do not always recognize people that I am suppose to recognize.

I drove east to North Maple and then up North Street to Banksville. Then I took Upper Cross Road to Close Road and down Round Hill Road to North Maple and back to East Putnam Avenue which is about a twenty mile drive. I went to the Greenwich Shell, and I bought $34.01 of self service premium gasoline at $4.449 a gallon for 7.644 gallons at odometer reading of 128005 miles for 100.6 miles driven since Monday September 8, 2025 for 13.16 miles per gallon in local traffic. I then went to the Board of Education parking lot Veterans monument bench, and I chatted with a relative and a friend. I then returned home, and I filed this report.

09/24/25 Wednesday 4:25 P.M. Bill Clinton and the governor of California are on C-span talking about electric cars, which I can not possibly afford. Apparently California is very high tech. On the last two trips out there in 1980, I met the head of Xerox Parc of Palo Alto who had a beach house in Laguna Beach.

09/24/25 Wednesday 3:35 P.M. I chatted with Riverside towing. They got the parts in, and they are putting them on right now. They said to call back at 4:30 P.M. to see if the car is ready. It will be about $680 which I will charge on my credit card.
09/24/25 Wednesday 3:05 P.M. When I came off Nantucket around the first of December 1983, I had been down to Fort Lauderdale the month before. I took the Ferry from Nantucket to Hyannis, and I stayed up all night. In the morning at the airport, I saw Ted Kennedy, and Jackie Onassis was on my plane to New York. In New York, I took the Amtrak to Toronto, and I stayed at the Anglican Seminary there, and I explored around. When I came back to New York, I did not have a place to stay, so I stayed up at night at the East Airline terminal after a familiar pub closed. After a week, I came out here with swollen ankles, and I stayed in the Greenwich Hospital for a week. I did that a second time, and the second time, they gave me a Greenwich Social Work and found me an attic room at 100 Milbank Avenue in Greenwich, so I became a permanent resident. In April 1984 and May 1984, I lived a in room off Grigg Street. Finally in June 1984, I moved to 700 Steamboat Road for four and a half years in a studio apartment. I did not get a car until around the fall of 1985, so I was walking around downtown a lot. I would use the Greenwich Library in the afternoon and eat dinner a the Greenwich Hospital Cafeteria and then my usual walk down Greenwich Avenue to my waterfront studio apartment.
09/24/25 Wednesday 2:55 P.M. Not very busy out on Nantucket web cams - Nantucket . In the winter like Kennebunkport, some of the women do needlepoint out there. Of course some French Canadians and other off island people do maintenance out there during the slow times. The last thing I did out there in November 1983 after the Le Languedoc restaurant closed was to paint the trim on Admiral Halsey's Cape Cod house on the Polpis Road. There were bees in the trim though. It was one of those make work jobs that Ian Greenshield came up with. Ian Greenshield had been a body guard for Jackie Onassis in Stowe, Vermont, so he knew a lot of people. He lived about the fire house out on Nantucket.
09/24/25 Wednesday 2:45 P.M. I channel surfed. In the Winter, I have some long quiet days at home. I first returned back to Greenwich around December 13, 1983 after living out on Nantucket as a dishwasher from April 1983 to December 1983. April 1983 was when the bridge fell down on Interstate 95 in Greenwich, so I knew Greenwich would be a bit busy. The bridge was named after a local politician whose relative I took typing with at Eastern Middle School around 1965. Alas I still know how to type a bit, but staying continually in Greenwich all of the time, I do not have much diverse experience to write about other than Greenwich Avenue and the Stop and Shop and CVS and the Greenwich Library. Starbucks is also an outlet for diversion when I can afford it.

At the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut, we were not allowed to watch television or listen to radios. At Lake Forest College, I use to go to the Donnelly Library in the evening and read my class assignments. The last year and a half, I drove a taxi at night. In Europe, I did not have telephone, television or radio, but I could check out a pub to see if anyone spoke English. In Greenwich Village in 1973, the pubs had Jute Boxes. Around 1980, the pubs started showing video. Around the fall of 1984, I bought a Samsung 18 inch color television for the apartment at 700 Steamboat Road, but it was blurry with rabbit ears. In Florida from 1976 to 1979, I did not have telephone, television, or radio. I did use to read the New York Times in the Monroe County Library in the morning. Actually in Daytona in 1979, we might have had a black and white television, but there was not much on it. In my free time, when I had a car, I would work on my car which was simpler then.

Of course I was younger then, and I did not have the stimulation of television or cable television, so I guess I basically lived like a Trappist Monk Trappists - Wikipedia until I had to face the real world, when I left the island finally for good in December 1983. I did learn how to keep busy as best that I could with a lot of work as a pot scrubber and a dishwasher in the heat of the night.

Today, I noticed somebody wearing a traditional pair of top siders Aokleather Brown Kids Boat Shoes | Sperry . When I went to the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut from 1965 to 1968, I found out at the time the nearby U.S. Rubber plant in Naugatuck made topsiders. They had a factory store in Naugatuck, where they sold them for $8 a pair. However, I have similar shoes, but I don't wear them anymore, since the bottom of my feet have a high arch which does not work with a flat boat shoes.
I will now shut down the H.P. laptop computer. I will eat a yogurt. I will then go to bed. London is five hours ahead of New York, so to watch the Presidential visit on the BBC, one has to adjust for the right time.

I used the bathroom there. I then drove down to the Board of Education Parking lot Veterans Monument bench, and I sat out for a long time. I chatted with a friend on my cell phone for a long time. I used the bathroom at the Senior and the Arts Center. I then went to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue. I bought a Suave shampoo and another Suave conditioner for $6.79 total. I then sat out for a long time in the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park across the street. I then went to the Putnam Shell at 401 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought $33.04 of self service premium gasoline for $4.499 a gallon for 7.344 gallons at odometer reading of 127787 miles for 93.3 miles drive since Saturday August 30, 2025 for 12.705 miles per gallon in local traffic. This is a bit too complicated for me The Rosary – Prayer Resources – St. Josaphat Parish I was raised a Scottish Presbyterian, but when my family first moved to Greenwich we attended the Round Hill Community Church Round Hill Community Church . I did have friends at Christ Church too. At Taft I attended the Anglican Communion Service. Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois was a Presbyterian College. In my five round trips to Europe, I have visited large Catholic churches and two protestant churches in Norway. In Greenwich for most of these years since I returned to live here in December 1983, I have not had the time to attend church. Out on Nantucket, there were lots of Quakes, but also St. Paul's Episcopal Church. In my life I have always tries to keep busy working. I did once attend Christmas Eve Service at St. John's in Manhattan after going to Christ Church in Greenwich, and I saw a lot of people. In Kennebunkport, my family attended St. Anne's Episcopal Church which I have attended about a dozen times. The largest church I have visited is not the Vatican but the Agia Sophia in Istanbul which is now the Blue Mosque. Through my mother mother's family we are from the Dutch Reform Church.

Be a Microsoft Windows 12 beta tester in many different languages. I did this one can try this an created a Windows 11 beta Rufus for older machines with this method by downloading the latest Windows Developer 11 beta 27924 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windowsinsiderpreviewiso?rfs=1 , and I used this procedure for Windows 11 on an older PC, Windows 11 Rufus installed from USB Pen Drive I made a Windows 11 Rufus USB pen drive with this method this https://rufus.ie/en/ to created a Windows 11 bootable USB pen drive for it to upgrade https://www.elevenforum.com/t/create-bootable-windows-11-iso-without-tpm-secure-boot-and-ram-requirements.1891/ I formatted the over 8 GB USB pen drive in NTFS, and I set Rufus to "MBR" selected and the second and third advanced options selected, also select options no TPM/no Secure boot. The different language versions of the Windows 11 *.iso download are here https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11 thus for example if one wanted Windows 11 Professional in French download the *.iso file and make the Windows 11 Rufus USB pen drive the same way. Once again the Complete PC backup does not work, but Aomei backup does work. Microsoft does not pay its beta tester minions, but one learns a bit about their operating systems for free.
