I went inside, and I called 911, and I told the police. I also called a neighbor, and the Greenwich Housing Authority answering service. At the moment, I am not going out to see what is happening. There was another tenant moving around the parking lot. CIO
08/30/21 Monday 3:15 A.M. I moved the cups with writing pens to the rear left side of the primary eat location on the oak dining table, so there is more room to eat my meager meals. We have a lot of foreigners in our local community whom are used to eating smaller portions, so at 211 pounds, they think I am bit over fed. However, that comes from my sedentary lifestyle sitting in front of the various computers for long periods of time. I moved the large plant from the left side front of the oak dining table to the window side of the Ethan Allen recliner, so the various devices on the left side of the oak dining table are easily displayed and accessed. In other words, I have been tweaking my small "Pied A Terre" a little bit. CIO

I drove up Lake Avenue to Round Hill Road and up Round Hill Road to John Street, and then I turned around, and I drove down Round Hill Road to North Maple Avenue and back into town on East Putnam Avenue. They have recently repaved Round Hill Road north of the Merritt Parkway. I stopped by Greenwich Shell at 83 East Putnam Avenue, and I bought $24.07 of self service V-Power premium gasoline for $4.299 a gallon for 5.598 gallons at odometer reading of 121868 miles for 83 miles driven since Sunday August 15, 2021 for 14.828 miles per gallon in local traffic. I then drove down Greenwich Avenue. I chatted with a friend. I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com twice. I then returned home. I went outside, and I drank a brewed Twinning Earle Grey tea with Equal sweetener and lemon juice. I filed this report. The car seems to be running just fine, since the battery is getting fully charged driving a bit more. CIO

Candidates must be tech-friendly and readily available during their shift- must have a smartphone, willing to text, send and post photos on social media, and maintain regular communication with the team and clients when working. We also use a software program to schedule services and shifts, which will be used regularly. Pet care is incredibly fulfilling - but also a lot of work! Yes, we spend time with incredible four-legged friends but it's an incredible responsibility. Training will be provided and required. This is a physical job. You must be able to lift dogs into and out of your vehicle, walk dogs over 100lbs and there's also a lot of cleaning involved as well. Applicants must be comfortable with regular cleaning up of dog waste, and adhering to strict cleaning protocol at the Club. Ensuring dogs are always returned clean to their pet parents as well. 08/28/21 Saturday 10:00 P.M. I threw out the garbage and the waste paper and the used diapers. I moved the air purifier to the left front side of the Queen Anne chair at the hallway entrance with it going. I moved the salt lamp from the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner to behind the AOC monitor on the far end of the oak dining table. I turned on the newest jump start system to charge it up. I have two other older ones. I have not reported it, but twice in the last week, when I went out on errands, my 2005 Volvo XC 70 wagon would not start on the first try, but did on the second try. Since I do not drive very much, I thought it might be a low battery, so I took the car for a longer drive in back country a few days ago, and I have not had the problem since. CIO

With the hurricane approaching New Orleans, when I lived down South, until I moved here in June 1962, I attended Lookout Mountain Camp on the Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee border on high ground. I lived in Pensacola, Florida from 1953 to 1954, when my father was the assistant plant manager of the Chemstrand Nylon Textile factory there. My friend who had the Nixon connection was actually from Syracuse, New York; and his family owned the bank there, and his uncle was the District Attorney there. He was also the godson of E. I then drove down to the Senior and the Arts Center, and I sat out briefly watching the morning rush. I then went to the Acme grocery store at 160 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought two Thomas' English muffins for $4.49 each, two 13 ounce Maria Callender chicken Alfredo meals for $3 each, a 48 ounce Almond Breeze vanilla almond milk for $4.99, a 8 pack of Jimmy Dean frozen sausage, egg, and cheese croissant for $13.29 and 5% discount of $1.66 for $31.60 total. However, the English muffins were supposed to be buy one get one free, so I was over charged $4.49. I then returned home. I put away my purchases. I found a set of used white linen sheets that I left at that location. I found a set of new medium blue flannel sheets, that I put in the bedroom window. I found a new blue dress shirt and a new summer blue and white short sleeve shirt and a green polar fleece that I put on the bedroom closet upper shelf. I found four new pairs of Joseph Banks khaki pants I hung on the right side of the bedroom closet. I found ten pairs of walking shorts in white, khaki, dark blue and light blue, and now that I am waist 50 inches some of them might now fit me. I left them stacked on the bottom right closet floor. I found a pair of summer weight cotton pajamas that I hung on the back side of the bathroom door with the two pairs of red and white flannel pajamas. I showered and cleaned up. CIO

Town of Greenwich Hurricane Henri warning:
Good afternoon. This is Greenwich First Selectman Fred Camillo with an important message concerning Hurricane Henri, which is approaching our community. The National Weather Service has issued tropical storm and storm surge warnings for our area. The first effects from the storm are expected to arrive in Greenwich around 4am Sunday morning, with wind and rain steadily increasing throughout the day. Henri is expected to make landfall near New Haven around 8pm Sunday with sustained winds of 65 miles per hour and gusts up to 80 miles per hour. We are expecting moderate to major coastal and river area flooding. The storm is expected to depart our area Monday morning. This may be a dangerous storm which may also strengthen as it gets closer. Significant tree and power line damage may be expected. Preparations should be made now for power outages, including alternatives for medical necessities. Loose items located outside should be moved indoors or secured to fixed objects.
Town of Greenwich Public Safety crews will be on standby throughout the storm. The lobby of the Public Safety Complex will be open as a charging and cooling station if needed. Public Works and Parks crews will be working their best to keep our roads open. I would ask our community members to remain off the roads from Sunday afternoon through at least Monday morning as travel may be hazardous and to give our emergency crews safe access.
This storm will be impactful to our entire community for at least the next couple of days. Please stay tuned to local news and weather reports for updates on the storm and changes to warnings.
Please remember to assist those around you, including neighbors and senior citizens, who may need a little extra assistance preparing for the storm.

08/19/21 Thursday 12:45 P.M. I rested a bit. My primary key for my apartment front door quit working while I was trying to get it to work better by spraying WD 40 in the lock. I replaced it with a good spare key. I then went downtown to replace the spare key. The lock smith in the shopping plaza across the street from the Greenwich Hardware store has closed. Charles Studdig on Greenwich Avenue was closed. The lock smith where Lobster Craft is was closed. I sat out in front of the Senior and the Arts Center for a short spell. I then went by the Greenwich Hardware store, and they did not have the right blank for my key. I then went by the Greenwich Town Hall, and they told me that now that I had renewed my Senior Beach Pass online, my old Senior Beach Pass is still good, and one does not need a car window sticker anymore. I then went by Charles Studdig's lock smith on Greenwich Avenue, and the sign on the door says they are only opened for appointments on the street. I then returned home. I sat outside briefly. I have a spare set of good apartment keys on my spare Volvo key chain. I will now go outside and drink a brewed coffee. CIO

I then bought a medium Veranda blend coffee with almond milk and Splenda sweetener at www.starbucks.com for $2.84 off my Starbucks card. I used the bathroom there. I sat out in front of the Senior and the Arts Center chatting with a friend. I used the bathroom again at Starbucks. I then went to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue. I bought buy one get one 50% off of 7 ounce Blade sensitive skin shaving gel for $3.29 and $1.64 and .31 tax for $5.24 total. I then sat out across the street in Jaycee Park. I used the bathroom at the CFCF coffee shop. I then went to the Acme grocery store at 160 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a five gallon bottle of Primo Vermont Spring water with bottle return for $7.49 total. I used the bathroom there. I then returned home. I used my little folding cart from the car to bring up the 42 pound bottle of water. I then put it back in the car, and I threw out more garbage. I sat outside some more. 08/18/21 Wednesday 4:20 A.M. I moved the blue Rubbermaid hamper from the bedroom to the far end near side of the oak dining table in the living room. From the window side of the Ethan Allen recliner, I moved the emergency lantern to the floor at the apartment entrance side of the oak dining table. In its place I put the miniature lamp with the small Victorian lamp shade that switches on and off, and it is behind the Hey Google screen for low light usage in that area in front of the Hisense television. 08/18/21 Wednesday 3:35 A.M. I moved the Hoover upright vacuum cleaner from the far left side of the bed in the bedroom to in front of the hallway sweater closet that I do not open up too often. I moved the unused Insignia portable air conditioner from in front of the bedroom window and mahogany bureau to the far left side of the bed. I have two years to go on the Geek Squad warranty on it, so sometime I have to try to get Best Buy to repair it if possible. It is strong enough for the bedroom, but not for the living room. The mahogany bureau is now opened for access, but is mostly just contains a variety of spare light bulbs. If I temporarily move the LG 8000 BTU air conditioner at that corner, I can gain access to the spare toilet paper on the bedroom window shelf. I move the blue Rubbermain hamper from the bedroom desk to in front of the mahogany bureau behind the LG 8000 BTU portable air condioner. It is light weight and easy to move, if I need access in that area. Now the bedroom desk is opened for computer use, but one has to squeeze by the LG air conditioner to get at it. I will now go outside and drink a brewed coffee. CIO

08/18/21 Wednesday 2:20 A.M. I opened up the package of eight LED light bulbs, and I put one in the bathroom lamp for better light. I left the other seven behind the LG portable air conditioner in the bedroom. I moved the two bath robes in the bedroom from the hook at the entrance to the hooks on the opened bathroom door. I moved my primary bath towel to the hook where the bath robes were. I took the George H.W. Bush coffee cup from underneath the exhaust hose in the bedroom window, and I replaced it with another coffee cup. I move the George Bush coffee cup along side the other George Bush coffee cup on the oak dining table, and I put the rest of the new black Bic pens in it. I moved the emergency lantern that was on the living room window sill supporting the portable air conditioner exhaust hose at the window to the folding table beneath it, and I have another coffee cup supporting that exhaust hose. I never spend too much money in Kennebunkport, Maine; when I visited. As I recall the most expensive I ever bought was a Boston Red Socks mouse pad for $10 at the drugstore there. The George Bush coffee cups cost about $3 at the tourist shop by the bridge in downtown Kennebunkport, Maine. There were some other people from Greenwich besides family there, but they did not want to spoil me with all of the additional security when they were in power with the government. My biggest expense was the gasoline to drive there, which a relative paid for. CIO

I moved the Bumble Bee Lamp from the living room window sill to the bookcase in the bathroom, so a light is always on in the bathroom without having to turn on the light switch for the ceiling lights which can be tricky in the dark. Having to urinate frequently anyway, it is handy to have a light always on in the bathroom. I will now go outside and drink a brewed coffee. CIO

!!!!!! 08/15/21 Sunday 11:20 P.M. A simply way I figured out about ten years ago to help avoid computer hackers is first I do not use wireless. I use a LAN cable to connect the computer to the internet. I have a LAN cable running from the Cable Model to the Wireless Router. I then have a LAN cable running from the Wireless Router to the Net Switch. From the Net Switch I have a LAN cable running to the computer LAN port. To help avoid hackers, I have the Net Switch powered on by a Power Strip with switch. Whenever, I am not using the computer or am away from the computer, I turn off the switch on the Power Strip turning off the Net Switch taking the computer off line, so it can not be hacked. I think it takes a bit of time to hack a computer, so having it off line does not give the hacker time to gain access. I also use Norton 360 on the computers. CIO

On a cooler day, with the new LG refurbished 14000 BTU portable air conditioner on the back side of the oak dining table in my living room going at full power, my apartment living room is currently 73 degrees Fahrenheit, but once the afternoon sun hits my West facing windows over a black tar roof which absorbs heat, it will warm up to 78 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit in the living room when it can be over 110 degrees Fahrenheit outside my windows. The new bedroom LG 8000 BTU portable air conditioner works just fine at 72 degrees Fahrenheit, and the bedroom is about that temperature. CIO

In its place, I put the new Grace Digital Mondo Elite Internet Radio connected to both the TCL sound bar above it and the apartment Technics stereo system. I put the Phillips Apple Ipad stand with the Apple Ipad 2 on the right side of the Queen Anne chair at the hallway entrance on top of the two internet radios there. The TCL sound bar power turns on and off with the switch on the power strip beneath it. I also have the Ocean Digital Internet receiver at the same location connected to the TCL sound bar too. I will now go outside and drink a brewed coffee.

08/12/21 Thursday 11:35 P.M. I hooked up the last unused Ocean Digital Internet receiver on the brass and glass end table on the far side of the Ethan Allen recliner by the far side of the oak dining table. For speakers, I have it connected to the Technics apartment stereo amplifier, so it plays through out the apartment. It sounds just great. One just turns on the Technics amplifier, and it is all already selected settings. The Ocean Digital remote control on top of the unit along with the other three remote controls for the Hisense television system. The Favorites are already set up for the Ocean Digital Internet Receiver. The old Grace Internet radio with the built in speaker quit working, when I disconnected it, and then tested it. Possibly its power supply quit working, so at the moment it is not available to use. I will now go outside again. One can not play the apartment stereo system in the night time hours though.

I put a headset hanging on the Grace Internet receiver, and I have it hanging on the right wing of the Queen Anne chair. I will now go outside and drink a brewed coffee. CIO
08/11/21 Wednesday 2:20 A.M. While outside, I tested my Iphone 6S Plus off the Kitchen D-Link wireless repeater, and it works just fine. On the right side of the Queen Anne chair at the hallway entrance, I put the Grace Digital Internet Receiver underneath the Ocean Digital Radio with the Grace Digital Mondo Elite Internet Radio on top of the other two internet radios. I have the Grace Receiver connected to the Tower Speaker in front of the living room closets. Although the Grace Receive Internet Directory no long works, I have a hundred presets on it including a few Elvis stations, so I am now playing vintage Elvis. There is also Elvis on the Ocean Digital Radio. For the Digital Receiver to receive the LAN signal, the middle network switch has to be turned on with the second switch back on the power strip beneath it. I will now go outside again.

Well, 28 million people live in Florida, so I guess they know how to handle tropical storm activity if and when it happens. I once read round cement houses built like Igloos with thick walls are better at withstanding severe hurricane winds, but might not be too good against coastal flooding. With all of the redundant coffee shops on Greenwich Avenue, I think we really need a Fish and Chips shop like in England. In the old days out on www.nantucket.net , they ate mostly fish, and they seemed to survive. When I worked at https://languedocbistro.com/ they got their local fresh fish from Holdgate's Fish Monger. They also had blue tip crabs from the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. The locals could catch lots of Blue Fish, but the Stripped Bass only ran around the first week of June around Madaket. They also ate sea and bay scallops. I looked very healthy, when I left Nantucket at then end of November 1983 taking the ferry to Hyannis and then catching the next morning flight and seeing Teddy Kennedy at the airport, and Jackie Kennedy Onassis was on my flight to LaGuardia and John Von Airsdale who owned Provincetown Boston Airlines was the pilot, so he knew his way. In the winter Provincetown Boston Airline also flies a route around Aspen, Colorado; where they pay dishwashers pot scrubbers a bit more money to survive the harsh winter climate. However, it does get cold on Nantucket after Christmas, when the harbor can freeze preventing the ferry boats from arriving in the winter. They use a lot of people from Cape Cod and French Canadians to maintain the island in the winter. The Grennons that owned part of the Le Languedoc also had a restaurant called Sister Kate's in Stowe, Vermont, so they employed waiters from the Stowe Ski patrol where it can be minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit on top of the mountain in the winter. A French Canadian named Ian Greenshield did some of their maintenance, and he even had me do a day job painting the trim on Admiral Halsey's small cottage on the Polpis Road with clam shell driveway over looking the harbor. After that I saw him once on the beach in Kennebunk, Maine. Being French Canadian he probably spoke French and enjoyed a cocktail to relax from work. He also lived above the fire house on Nantucket. I used my little folding cart from the car to wheel it up to my apartment. I set it up in the living room, where the other LG 8000 BTU air conditioner was. I turned it on briefly to test it, and it runs. One is not supposed to run it for 24 hours to give time for the refrigerant to settle after shipping. I stored the shipping box on the bedroom desk. I will now go outside and put the folding cart back in the car. The package weighed 88 pounds, and the air conditioner weighed about 74 pounds, so it took a bit of effort to move and lift.

I then went to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue, and I bought three 12 packs of 12 ounce www.coke.com Zero Sugar for with a $1.80 can deposit and 19 cent coupon for $16.59 total. I then put them on the back seat of the car. I then went inside, and I toured the store, I bought three Pringles sour cream and onion for $5 all and a Anne's croissant for $1.49 less 6 cent coupon for $6.19 total. I then drove down to the Veterans monument at the Board of Education, and I sat out for a while. I ate the croissant. I then drove around downtown. I then stopped by www.mcdonalds.com and I viewed their menu. Filet of Fish is $4.19 if one wants to improvise fish and chips. I then drove by Wendy's, and their front restaurant was closed at 10 P.M.. They had signs advertising two breakfast sandwiches for $4 both or the basic Dave's hamburger for buy one get one free. I then returned home. I sat outside. I put away my purchases. I then went outside, and I put the little folding cart and green bag back in the car, and I drank a brewed coffee. 08/01/21 Sunday 8:55 P.M. It say on the LG portable air conditioner instructions for the 14000 BTU unit, one is supposed to not turn it on until it has sat upright for 24 hours after shipping. It also says not to use an extension cord on it. Thus to be prepared, I took the 8000 BTU portable air conditioner off the appliance extension cord, and I plugged it directly into the wall socket behind it. I then plugged the power strip that is underneath it into the appliance extension power cord. The power strip powers some less powerful devices. CIO

I stopped by the Greenwich Cigar store, and I bought an Ace's High scratch card for a dollar, and I lost as usual. I chatted with a friend at various locations. I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue.
