He had moved from Greenwich to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and then to Lincoln, New Hampshire. I woke up at noon. I ate my usual breakfast of pineapple chunks, fruit cocktail, Jimmy Dean sausage egg and cheese croissant, two English muffins with Smart Balance spread, diet cranberry juice, and an instant coffee inside. I rested until 3 P.M.

07/30/25 Wednesday 9:45 P.M. Fred Von Mierers, once had me take Helen Kress Williams to the New York Metropolitan Opera, and she paid for the head table at the Opera Guild. However, being frugal, we took a New York City bus round trip. The twin brother of my Lake Forest College roommate named Tom McMurray had a studio apartment on East 13th Street near www.forbes.com across the street from Astis restaurant which had a lot of opera stars working as waiters.
07/30/25 Wednesday 9:40 P.M. The reason people from Syracuse got to travel was General Electric made jet engines there. They also made Chrysler automobiles and Carrier air conditioners there. A Colonel Blair also once had a State Department training school there. Other than driving down or up the New York Thruway, I have never explored Syracuse, New York. I do know they can get fifteen feet of snow there in the winter, so there were some people from there down in Key West around Jimmy Eldert. The Eldert family are one of the founding Dutch families of New Amsterdam, which Helen Kress Williams with her connections knew.
07/30/25 Wednesday 9:20 P.M. Around October 1973, I was fired from being a waiter at Boodles in Greenwich. I had a used blue Volvo sedan that I had bought from Dave Peabody in Greenwich with a loan from Mr. Dupont at the Union Bank in Darien. I had read in the New York Times that the European Jet people were going to the Le Jardin discothèque in Manhattan near Times Square. I went there, and I met Fred Von Mierers who showed me his apartment at 420 East 49th Street. The following day in the Eugina Shepard society column Fred was pictured shaking hands with Nelson Rockefeller. The next time I saw Fred, he told me was designing a beach cabana for Nelson Rockefeller at his beach house in Bermuda. Shortly there after, Fred and I met Jimmy Eldert from Syracuse at Le Jardin. Jimmy had hitch hiked to New York City, but he told us his parents followed him. Later on, I met Tim Grant, and he knew Sandy Carlson that ran the Everson Art Museum in Syracuse. Sandy knew Jim Eldert too. Later on I found Sandy a studio apartment on East 70th Street next to the Explorers Club. Sandy and Tim Grant both knew each other from Temple University in Philadelphia. Sandy had me go to an Art Gallery opening on East 67th Street on the Galley he was running in Manhattan, and there I saw W. Averill Harriman with an older woman whom might have been his sister. Sandy later moved to Paris to run a gallery there. George Gordon Cary is the nephew of W. Averill Harriman's sister who lived out at Sands Point, Long Island and kept an apartment on East 72nd Street, where I once stayed with George.
07/30/25 Wednesday 8:45 P.M. The people I met in Manhattan never visited me in Greenwich to see how I lived simply in back country. However, once on the Fourth of July around 1974, Tim Grant and Juan Montoya https://juanmontoyadesign.com/ did visit, and I took them out to lunch at the Greenwich Country Club. I guess Greenwich people are not too important in Manhattan compared to the people there with their North Shore Long Island view points.
07/30/25 Wednesday 8:35 P.M. Jimmy Eldert might have had British or Scottish connections at one time. One time on Nantucket, I saw him wearing a St. Andrews University T Shirt. Another time, he told me had worked at Sandringham, but I do not know in what capacity. Jimmy Eldert lived near Billy Baldwin out on Nantucket, and Billy Baldwin knew the Duke of Windsor.

I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue. I bought a 16 pack of White Castle cheeseburger sliders for $15.79 and a 12 pack of Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese croissants for $17.49 for $33.28 total. I then returned home. I picked up the mail. I put away the food. I filed this report.

07/29/25 Tuesday 2:30 P.M. The first time I went to Nantucket I think was the summer of 1969, when my family had moved to Wellesley. I went to the beach, at the Salty Dog bar, where I was drinking a beer on Main Street, I ran into my roommate that previous year at Lake Forest College named Guy Erdman. I recall, I also met up with people from Greenwich Country Day school, and one of them George Witbold had an apartment on Orange street, where they put me up for the night. I recall returning to Nantucket in the summer of 1971 with Ian Emberson whose father worked for British Airways. He went surfing at Surside. We only stay for a day. I recall maybe in between those days going out to Nantucket, and a family with a Bunk House near the Jettes beach put me up. They met me when I arrived off the ferry. Oie Wood from Cataumet called ahead to have them meet me. I did not finally return to Nantucket until I hitchhiked up there from Greenwich in July 1975, and I then camped out for a couple of weeks at Fairgrounds Road. In Nantucket, if you don't have money, like every place else, they are not too hospitable.
07/29/25 Tuesday 2:10 P.M. I sprayed some WD 40 on the toilet tank water lever device, so the toilet now works for now.
07/29/25 Tuesday 2:05 P.M. I rested until 2 P.M. The toilet is malfunctioning again. I will leave the tank lid off to push the plunger to get it to work. I will now drink an instant coffee.
07/29/25 Tuesday 12:15 P.M. I woke up at 9 A.M. I ate my usual breakfast of pineapple chunks, fruit cocktail, Jimmy Dean sausage egg and cheese croissant, two English muffins with Smart Balance spread, diet cranberry juice, and an instant coffee inside. I rested until noon.

07/28/25 Monday 3:40 P.M. I went to the Family Center, and I enjoyed waiting an hour in the cold air conditioning in the lobby. The follow up on my lab work by the nurse doctor is to quit taking all of my vitamins and supplements and only take the multivitamin ever two days. I still take my prescriptions. All of the vitamins and supplements are too much work on my kidneys. Also I am supposed to drink at least three classes of water a day to flush out my kidneys. Also the nurse doctor sent me to 500 West Putnam Avenue for a chest x-ray. I then sat out in front of the Senior and the Arts Center. Some news agency was making a news story. I chatted with a friend on my cell phone. I then returned home. While out the building custodian fixed the bathroom toilet which was not flushing properly. I will now drink an instant coffee inside. Also no more chocolate milk shakes because they are too much sugar.

I then went to Putnam Shell at 401 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought $29.06 of self service premium gasoline for $4.399 a gallon for 6.649 gallons at odometer reading of 127354 miles for 92.7 miles driven since Sunday July 13, 2025 for 13.942 miles per gallon in local traffic. I then returned home. I picked up the mail. I put away the food. I filed this report.

07/18/25 Friday 7:55 A.M. I went by the Mobil station on West Putnam Avenue, but their front door was locked. I went by the Exxon station on the Port Chester border, and I bought a package of Lucky Strike Menthol 100 cigarettes for $12 by mistake. I do not smoke menthol, so I did not smoke them. I went downtown to the www.chase.com ATM on Greenwich Avenue at Elm Street, and then I went to the Veterans bench, and I sat out for a while. I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com . I bought a medium iced coffee for $4.24, and I drank it in front of the Senior and the Arts Center. I then walked lower Greenwich Avenue and the train station area. The building on the east side of lower Greenwich Avenue seems to have sold, and they are working on it. There is also an ice cream sundae shop on that block. I stopped by Zen Stationary, and I bought a carton of Seneca cigar cigarettes blue for $30. I sat out some more at the Veterans bench. I used the bathroom at Starbucks again. I then went to the Junior Chamber of Commerce park, and I sat out briefly, and I chatted with a friend whom told me I have to quit smoking again, which I will try as soon as possible. I viewed www.cvs.com . I then returned home, and I filed this report. I have a 4 P.M. visit this afternoon from an associate. I will now shut down the HP laptop computer. I will eat a yogurt. 07/18/25 Friday 4:10 A.M. I went outside. I chatted with an Irish carpenter downtown yesterday morning. Before my extensive computer activity over the years, it reminded me of other work I had done. In the summer of 1966, I helped frame a house on Baldwin Farms South in Greenwich. Up in Boston in the summer of 1970, I gutted the old Howard Johnson's chocolate factory on the harbor in Boston, and I also shoveled gravel at the tank farm of the Polaroid manufacturing plant in Waltham. In the winter of 1977 and 1978 in Key West, I was around the Casa Marina Hotel construction project, although I did not actually do any work. In the summer of 1978 in Nantucket on Lincoln Avenue, I worked on renovating one of the oldest houses on Nantucket. From April 1982 to February 1983, I built the garage apartment out on Plandome Manor, Long Island. However, from that experience where I had to take ten Tylenol a day because of my severe arthritis, I never tried construction anymore. Living off disability all of these years, I was able to increase my personal computer skills though. I will now go downtown early before www.starbucks.com opens at 4:30 A.M. Quite frankly not smoking and being on the nicotine patch has me sleeping 12 to 18 hours a day, which I do not think is healthy either.

His mother had the house next to the Robert Kennedy family in Hyannisport, and his father lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He also sailed around the world, when he graduated from the University of Virginia Law School. He was known as "Bink". I saw him out on Nantucket in the summer of 1975, when he was on Wolf Barker's sail boat. 07/16/25 Wednesday 4:15 A.M. In the living room, I adjusted the LG 14000 BTU air conditioner exhaust hose, so that it is more direct. In the northwest corner of the living room, I folded up the beach chair, and I put it in the corner, I moved one of the bent oak chairs from the bedroom into its place in front of the Dell 17 inch laptop. It is currently 77 degree in the bedroom and 78 degrees in the living room.
