06/30/24 Sunday 11:00 P.M. I moved the AT&T two line telephone with speed dial from the desk to the right side of the Queen Anne chair, and I also put the long handset cable on it. From there I moved the Panasonic two line telephone to the right side of the desk with the regular handset cable on it. Thus one does not have to dial from the Queen Anne chair but use speed dial, and I never dial out from the desk except for the pound sign prompt at Chase when I try to get a code for their web site which is all messed up.

On the right side of the red leather Chesterfield chair, I put a folding oak TV table with a few small devices on it. Thus there is more room behind the bent oak chair on the left side of the teak dining table.

I then alternated it with six slices of honey ham with six slices of white American cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half. I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of www.coke.com Zero Sugar and a 15 ounce can of sweet peas with Smart Balance spread. The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap. I will now rest a bit. CIO

06/29/24 Saturday 10:25 P.M. I chatted with a relative. I went outside. I went downtown to the Central Greenwich Post Office, and I mailed the Renters Rebate information. I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue. I bought a 12 pack of Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese croissants for $16.99 and a five gallon bottle of Poland Spring water with bottle return for $9.99 for $26.98 total. I then returned home. I brought up the 42 pound bottle of Poland Spring water with my little folding cart, and I put it way and the groceries. I then put the folding cart back in the car, and I sat outside. I filed this report. I will now go outside and drink an instant coffee. CIO

Gulivers' Fire was across the street from my place 'Chaos' of Gulliver's fire in Port Chester lives on after 50 years (greenwichtime.com) My mother who was a nurse was one of the people responding to the tragedy at the Greenwich Hospital. It must have been quite traumatic. I had spent the night with Steve Wheelock in Manhattan, and when I saw the headlines in the New York news, I returned back out here. I think they should have a memorial plaque there with the names of the victims. I once read that were a number of foreign visitors that were also victims of the fire.
I will now go outside again. I no long stare at the stars at night in the Southern sky, but I looked to the North at our parking lot watching the busy neighbors come and go. CIO

I bought deli sliced white American cheese for $4.99 a pound for $5.01, deli sliced turkey for $5.99 a pound for $7.97, a six pack of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.99, a 64 ounce Almond Breeze vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $5.99 and two 48 ounce Ocean Spray diet cranberry juice for $3.10 each, and spinach wraps for $4.69 for $31.85 total. 06/28/24 Friday 2:20 A.M. To possibly make the living room cooler in the daytime, I moved the saddle color faux leather back about nine inches. I then moved the Queen Anne chair to the left about nine inches. I then pulled the new LG 14000 BTU air conditioner further out into the living room, so it has more air circulation. I then moved the black pedestal fan behind it blowing the cool air around. I then from the right living room window shelf, I moved the new table fan to the top the bookcase on the left side of the hallway entrance. In the bedroom, I also moved the antique bronze light on the mahogany bureau to shine light on the Dell 17.3 inch laptop keyboard. I also took out from there, the White Star line place mat, and I put it on the new square end table in front of the Queen Anne chair.

I also moved the folding mahogany chair to the bedroom laptop setup and from there the bent oak chair to the left side of the teak dining table.

To make the newly redecorated apartment more www.apple.com friendly like the younger people use, I moved the Apple MacBook Pro from the bedroom setup to the small dark oak table in front of the Harvard chair. From there, I moved the Dell 17.3 inch laptop setup to the bedroom. I also removed the Lenovo mini setup from the Samsung television, and I setup the Apple MacMini in its place. Thus the Amazon cube is not currently connected, but it can be connected in a few seconds.
I will now drink an instant coffee outside. CIO

06/26/24 Wednesday 10:40 P.M. The cot is cancelled, so any guest will have to sleep in the Ethan Allen recliner in the rare incidence that I ever have a guest. I tried testing Deepin Linux on the Lenovo Mini computer on the desk, but it does not work, because after the install the password that one installs does not work. I got rid of the Linux setup by booting the Hirens Hiren's BootCD PE (hirensbootcd.org) USB pen drive, and I selected utilities and security, and I did a low level format of the SSD drive. I then restored the Aomei backup of Windows 12 Canary beta by booting the Aomei restore pen drive, so the Lenovo Mini computer is back to way it was before. I went outside twice, and I channel surfed.

The orders with tracking of Track Package (amazon.com) for Amazon.com: Amazon Basics RJ45 Cat-6 Ethernet Patch Cable, 1Gpbs Transfer Speed, Gold-Plated Connectors, 25 Foot (7.6 Meters), Black : Electronics for $8.50 and with tracking of Track Package (amazon.com) for two Amazon.com: Frost King AC43H Air Conditioner Weatherseal Tape, 2-1/4 Inch, 2-1/4" W, 2-1/4" T, 42" L, Dark Gray : Home & Kitchen for $10.48 total arrived. I put part of a foam strip on the left side of the living room Plexiglass exhaust panel, and I stored the rest of it on the floor of the left living closet. I used the LAN cable to connect up the Apple MacBook Pro in the bedroom. I threw out the shipping boxes. I cancelled the cot. There server is now working again. CIO

I downloaded deepin - deepin Linux Operating System , and then I used Rufus Rufus - Create bootable USB drives the easy way to create a bootable pin drive, and then I did a new installation on the Lenovo Mini computer on the desk. I did not take time to install any apps though, but Linux has lots of free apps including www.openoffice.org for word processing. Linux also works faster on older computer. I could not figure how to install it dual boot with the existing Windows 12 Rufus beta, but if needed, I can always restore its Aomei backup which I know how to do.

In case I am ever force to have a guest in some unforeseen emergency I ordered TBKLEY Folding Camping Cots for Adults, Heavy Duty Folding Bed with Carry Bag for Traveling Camp Office Use 75" x 28", Silver - Walmart.com for $62.69 total. It does not take up much room when folded up, and I can store it in the bedroom closet which has plenty of room. If I had to use it, I can move a couple of small pieces of furniture over night. However, nobody has ever visited over night in over a decade or more.

06/26/24 Wednesday 2:05 A.M. I moved the antique brass reading lamp from the bookcase on the left side of the Samsung television to the mahogany bureau above the Apple Macbook Pro in the bedroom, so its keyboard has extra light. It only has electricity though when the bedroom light switch is turned on. I still have a swivel lamp above the Dell 17.3 inch laptop on the left side of the Samsung television. No need to photograph that move.
Today is nine months exactly that I have been working on my apartment since September 26, 2023. Thus I feel more like an interior decorator as opposed to a systems analyst on the internet. However, with www.ibm.com employing 288,000 people worldwide; more than likely there are other computer people in this neck of the woods so to speak. One of the last times I took the long trip to Armonk, New York to drop off a Windows beta of Windows 95, I noticed they had a big white helicopter at the gate like Marine One, so I figured they must do something in the north country where white can be a common color on aircraft.

On the Lenovo Mini computer that I disconnected from the Samsung television, it still has a LAN cable connected to it, and one can connect the HDMI video output to the Samsung television in five seconds by disconnecting the HDMI cable from the Amazon Cube and plugging it into the HDMI connector next to it for the Lenovo Mini computer, so that system is still operational. Big screen internet is sometimes handy for looking at you tube video and satellite photos of hurricane formations if anyone is ever interested. CIO

Back in the 1960s when my Scott family was more established with a Monsanto corporate membership at the Greenwich Country Club, we used to have, "Come As You Are," parties at the Club, and whenever one got the telephone call, one had to show up dressed as they were when they got the telephone call even if they were in the shower. I guess that would not be Royal protocol by Greenwich standards today. I will now go outside and drink instant coffee. Also in the hot summers in the 1960s Madras plaid clothing from India was very popular even in slacks and sports jackets. Back in the 1970s all of the Anglophile men were red and blue striped club ties too usually with blue blazers and Gant Oxford shirts from the Decker's outlet store for $5 in Norwalk which are made in New Haven. Also the reason I use LAN cables on my laptops, is since frequently the wireless network can be hacked. CIO
06/25/24 Tuesday 11:05 P.M. I am about to eat a 15 ounce Marie Callender chicken pot pie and a 12 ounce glass of www.coke.com Zero Sugar. Back in the old days, when a dollar was worth more, one could get four or five Morton or Swanson chicken pot pies for a dollar, which I ate a lot of growing up. The St. Moritz bakery on Greenwich Avenue use to sell home made chicken pot pies and so does the Acme grocery store, but they are more expensive and probably have a bit more chicken in them. Remember way up in Canada at the Gaylon Weston grocery stores that he owns 1250 of a regular chicken now costs $40. I did read once his father had built a development called Windsor in Vero Beach, Florida; so maybe that is why the prices of grapefruit juice have also gone up. I don't recall seeing a www.mcdonalds.com in Toronto the last time I was there in December 1983 sleeping at the Anglican Seminary Library at the University of Toronto. It was a nice red leather couch. The University of Toronto even had a big indoor swimming pool, but with my Nantucket and Fort Lauderdale tan, I was probably a bit too tan by Canadian standards. CIO

So a larger person can use the Apple Macbook Pro laptop in the cooler bedroom, I moved the bent oak chair from the left side of teak dining table to the Apple laptop setup in the bedroom, and from there I moved the folding mahogany chair which is smaller to the left side of the teak dining table, so a smaller person can use it there. I also put the dark blue cushion on the bent oak chair to the left of the Samsung television and from there, I put the Williamsburg blue cushion on the bent oak chair in the bedroom.

06/25/24 Tuesday 7:40 P.M. I channel surfed. When I bought the Harvard chair now costing $800 at the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop about 20 years ago for $45, they also had a Dartmouth College chair for the same price. I think to go to Dartmouth College, one has to be connected up with Nelson Rockefeller's group of cold weather friends, since he attended there having been born in Bar Harbor, Maine. However, in the charter of Dartmouth College certain American Indians are allowed to attend for free. I checked out the Hanover, New Hampshire area a number of times in warmer weather. However, I was told in the winter up there, one has to work two jobs, and the second job is to pay one's heating bill. However Harvard can be cold in the winter too. When my family lived in the Boston area, we wore sweaters until July. My Harvard chair has a stain on the seat that does not come off, and it has Dyno tape underneath that I think says Howard Prince. John Harvard died of tuberculosis which can be cured in Summerville, South Carolina from the pine trees there. There was a member of the Scott family who was a founding settler of Cambridge which like Boston has roads that developed from old cow paths. Although there are a lot of famous people whom attended Harvard, the most common job after Harvard is carpenter, since I guess there are a lot of trees in New England. The Harvard chair was designed, so the students in the dining hall could not hit each other over the head with it, so I guess the Harvard group of students used to be a rough and tumble group of students too. My first checking account was at Harvard Trust in 1968, but I never had more than $500 in the account, when I was working at Polaroid for $200 a week before taxes as a research photographer next to MIT on Osborne Street. Thus I am familiar with area, although I did not attend Harvard. One time, when I was living at West 74th Street in Manhattan, I drove up to Boston with two friends for the 350th anniversary of Boston, and returned the same day.

I moved the new desk fan from the round end table in the bedroom to the bedroom window shelf. Then I moved the White Star line place mat on the round end table in the bedroom and from the left side of the Samsung television, I moved the Apple Macbook Pro laptop setup to the round end table in the bedroom with the folding mahogany chair made in Vietnam with the red and white cushion in front of it. Now there is a cooler place to work on a laptop, since the bedroom is cooler than the living room in the hot summer heat. The Apple Macbook Pro works just fine off the apartment wireless.

I then alternated it with six slices of honey ham with six slices of white American cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half. I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice and a 15 ounce can of corn with Smart Balance spread. The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap. I will now rest a bit. CIO

I also disconnected the long LAN cable from the bedroom Optimum cable box, and I have it plugged into the Dell 17.3 inch laptop in front of the Harvard chair. From there, I moved the Microsoft Surface RT to the right side of the red leather Chesterfield chair. I also moved the White Star line place mat to the square end table in front of the Queen Anne chair.

06/24/24 Monday 4:15 A.M. I guess they still like horses King Charles and Queen Camilla Spend Prince William's Birthday at Royal Ascot Following Sweet Tribute (msn.com) . The last horse I rode back in the late spring or early summer of 1975 threw me head first into a tree or stone wall by the fourth hole at the Greenwich Country Club when I was riding it on the Greenwich Country Day playing fields. However in my brief life in Decatur, Alabama I did regularly horse back ride out in the woods for $5 an hour and also at Lookout Mountain Camp for boys, and I once got to ride a fast black horse at full gallop at General Wheeler's plantation west of Decatur. That is about all I know about horses anymore. CIO
06/24/24 Monday 4:00 A.M. The bedroom Vizio television works the internet off wireless not LAN. I did however hook up the bedroom Optimum cable box to the bedroom LAN cable to download the cable box LAN features, but at the moment, I do not know what button to push on the complicated Optimum remote control. Both televisions have sound bars, but I try not to watch too much television, because it does not seem relevant to my personal situation, but just distraction. In Norway, they only have children's programming with mostly cartoons, I was told. Some people worldwide probably still read a lot, but I use the internet to bottom fish and stay up to date on the news on the younger generation. From what little I know about the United States government is that they still produce a lot of paper work, so they probably use word processors and spread sheets, and print out at Pueblo, Colorado; where a distant relative once lived before moving to Seattle, Washington. For all I know whomever writes the content on the internet is just taking wire service feeds from the Associated Press and Reuters both of which were bought out by the Saudi Arabians over thirty years. Since I do not get much communications off the internet, I try to project my low income viewpoint based on my experience, and not the experience of Hollywood. I did noticed on my six trips to California between October 1978 and November 1980, I saw thousands of very tall big men along the coast line dressed as Heri Kristina's, so that must be a big movement out there in the warmer weather of Southern California. I never drove further north on the West Coast, but Fort Bragg on the ocean about a half day north of San Francisco, so I have not seen the colder wild wilderness of the Northwest where this Microsoft software comes from. I do my Grandfather Scott's younger brother Vernon Scott liked driving the back farm roads of America to visit friends in Oregon, and he told me had been to China about forty times selling soy beans which they have a lot of in the Midwest. He also was a Scottish Rite Mason. I was told his widow after he died put up Japanese students in her house that went to the University of Illinois in Champaign Urbana, so possibly they were studying some of the long forgotten stuff in the Engineering Library there. 06/24/24 Monday 2:45 A.M. I setup the Amazon Cube for the Samsung television. TCM works off Max, also I have Roku setup on it along with Amazon Prime, Amazon Britbox, and Netflix and few other apps. The Smithsonian channel is going off line today. I am not allowed to watch much television in my free time, because someone higher in authority thinks it is a waste of time. However, after all of these years, I do know how to setup the devices that I have. The have the "Flipper" channel on the Roku device though.
In decluttering my apartment this important device was thrown out as junk Amazon.com: Midland - WR120B - NOAA Emergency Weather Alert Radio - S.A.M.E. Localized Programming, Trilingual Display, 60+ Emergency Alerts, & Alarm Clock (WR120B - Box Packaging) : Electronics , but when I had it, it never worked, since we do not get the NOAA weather signal here. I think today, one is supposed to use cell phones for emergency broadcasts.

I disconnected the HDMI and LAN cables from the Lenovo Mini computer connected to the Samsung television in the living room, and I moved the Amazon Cube to the Samsung television which has a lot more internet content. However, one has to turn the Amazon Cube on and off with the button on top of the cube until the blue light flashes, but all of the other functions work with its remote control.
I will now go outside and drink a cup of instant coffee. A relative emailed me that I am supposed to say "an instant coffee" since instant starts with a valve. Since I went to grammar school at the Walter Jackson School in Decatur, Alabama; at Greenwich Country Day school I had to take special ed classes in grammar and spelling. I was told when I lived in the publishing area of East 49th Street in Manhattan, the editors do not care about the content, just the grammar and punctuation. When I first started my web site, I chatted with Bill Buckley's son at the Greenwich Library who used to have an office nearby, and he told me, when he looked at my web site, it seemed I was ignorant. I was also told by somebody from www.ibm.com at the Greenwich Library to make my web site really boring. So much for trying to get ahead in Greenwich. Decatur, Alabama did have the cheapest electricity in the United States of America with the eight hydroelectric dams on the nearby Tennessee River that were built in the 1930s by Tennessee Valley Authority to provide lots of electricity for the Oak Ridge Atomic Research laboratory that made plutonium well before Einstein's letter in 1942 to Roosevelt. Alas, I left it in my desk drawer, when it was stored in Norwich, Vermont in a rental barn or a rental house that I used for storage in the Philadelphia area. I never wore, because I did not know it was costly, and I thought it was gaudy. When I visited Albertville, France in the winter of 1992 for the Winter Olympics, I made a day side trip to Geneva, Switzerland, and I did visit the Rolex watch store next to all of the big American Banks and the La Coste shirt store. Also the yellow small Swiss Army knife that I bought there in the gun store has seemed to have disappeared too. CIO
06/23/24 Sunday 11:10 P.M. I watched off Netflix series 3 episode 1 of, "Vikings." I went outside midway through, and I drank a cup of instant coffee. When I visited Oslo, Norway back in February 1983, I was supposed to be going to Stockholm, Sweden on a round trip and a week's stay at the S.A.S. hotel that I paid $800 cash for at J.F.K. airport. For some reason, the jet landed in Oslo, Norway, and at the S.A.S. hotel in Oslo, they told me the ticket was only a one way flight to Stockholm and no hotel. Thus the black S.A.S. ticket agent at J.F.K. airport ripped me off for my $800 cash. I have complained numerous times to S.A.S. with no response. I did manage to survive for about the six weeks I was starving in Oslo on Swedish wasa crisp crackers and corn flakes, and I did get to go to a concert in the peace hall. Perhaps all of the Texans in the S.A.S. hotel in Oslo pulled a dirty trick on my flying over with me on Evergreen Airlines. I did walk around a lot in Oslo, and I visited the two oldest churches and the Frogmore Park. www.ibm.com and www.shell.com have big office buildings there. Maybe they were holding me as a political hostage while somebody from Scandinavia visited America. My father had to pay $2,000 for my stay at the Best Western Hotel behind the palace and my return flight to J.F.K. airport where I departed back to www.nantucket.net around Easter time in 1983 to be a dish washer, before I returned to Greenwich in December 1983 after side trips to Fort Lauderdale and Toronto. I was told by a Norwegian neighbor that if one tries to pan handle in Oslo, Norway; they throw you out of the country, but he did not say how one could afford that with no money. I once thought Fred Von Mierers might really be Fred Olson the Norwegian travel company, since his apartment at 420 East 49th Street now the German consulate used to be near the Norwegian and Swedish consulates in the Random House building on East 49th Street. Someone did fly a big Norwegian flag at a nice house in the center of Nantucket, when I was there, so maybe there are other Norwegians there. The Le Lanquedoc restaurant where I worked had waiters from the Stowe, Vermont ski patrol, so maybe some of those skiers were Norwegian. The head waitress looked like Princess Di, and the waiters were short, so I called them Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

I saw what looked like a big black leopard the size of a German Shepard crossing in the back parking lot of CVS. At CVS, I bought another desk fan with 25% and 15% off coupons for $20.32. I then got two jars of Maxwell House instant coffee for free with a $10 off coupon from the previous purchase. I then went to the Acme grocery store at 160 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a 42 ounce Smart Balance spread for $9.79 and a 64 ounce Almond Breeze vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $5.69 for $15.48 total. I then went to the Putnam Shell at 401 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought $27.01 of self service premium gasoline for $4.699 a gallon for 5.748 gallons at odometer reading of 125747 miles for 74.3 miles driven since Friday May 31, 2024 for 12.927 miles per gallon in local traffic. I then returned home. I put away my purchases. I put the grey bag back in the car. I drank a instant coffee outside. I then alternated it with with six slices of honey ham with six slices of provolone cheese, and I rolled it up, and I cut it in half. The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap. I will now rest a bit. CIO

I installed the new faucet aerator on the kitchen sink, but when turned off, it still drips a couple of drops a minutes when turned off. I moved the mahogany tea table to the left side of the Queen Anne chair with the green column lamp and two internet radios on it. From there I moved the small maple end table to the left side of the mahogany bureau in the bedroom with the desk fan on it. From there I moved the small brass and glass end table to in front of the octagon end table on the left side of the Ethan Allen recliner.

I will now go outside again. One of my well connected cold weather friends has a rich relative that lives up in Montana of Wyoming somewhere. I only met him once at Christmas Time in Sands Point, Long Island around 1987, and all he talked about was Ducks Unlimited. My diseased step father also has a son in Montana or Wyoming somewhere that grows hydroponic lettuce which must have expensive electricity bills. I did on one trip across country drive north from Denver to Laramie, Wyoming where it was minus twenty degrees Fahrenheit below zero in October and then two hours west of Laramie, Wyoming there was a Sinclair Oil Refinery. Going west that way, it is not as rocky as the Rocky Mountains, but has rolling plateaus. The hockey coach at Taft Mr. Sergeant had a ranch in Wyoming. I also had a fraternity brother at Lake Forest College name Mark Wheeler that worked on a ranch in Wyoming, and his father was the President of a Bank in Boston. If one had to flee for shelter in America, one could hide out at Truck Stops of America in Montana and keep driving in different directions on Interstate 90. I think to get to Seattle, Washington, one has to take Interstate 90 which from what I have read has a lot of grizzly bears. CIO

I checked to see if any apartment fire light were on, but none were on. I then called 911 off my Verizon line, and the fire department was already here, I guess for a non emergency call with four fire trucks. I then sat outside some more. I chatted with a friend. When I went to the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut from 1965 to 1968, one of my friends from Katonah, New York after he graduated dropped out of Utica College after his freshman year. He then rented an apartment off Harvard Square with the future Queen of Jordan. He also had a commune in St. Johnsbury, Vermont where he restored liberty hatch covers into coffee tables. He bought a big truck, and he would drive up to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick where he would buy antiques cheaply. He would drive them all the way out to the west coast in California which does not have many antiques, and he would sell them for four or five times as much. His family also had a house in Laguna Beach besides a pent house at Madison Avenue and East 67th Street and another house in Ireland. Once his mother asked me to get a generator for the house in Ireland, which I did not know how to do, but when I visited Laguna Beach a number of times from 1978 to 1980, they were building twin nuclear reactors at Dana Point nearby which have since been decommissioned. On the last trip, I met up with the head lawyer for Combustion Engineering in Montecito, so I thought they might have been working on those reactors too. My friend's father was the treasurer of Wolfson Construction that built the Pan Am building in Manhattan, I-684, and worked on Hoover Dam. I do know his parents had also lived in China. The last I heard from him, he was living in a condo at Mar Largo in Palm Beach, Florida and doing business deals in South America. I know he had the Road House bar out on Nantucket and lived with Jimmy Buffett in Key West too. He knew lots of people, which I never did. The internet says he passed away a number of years ago in West Palm Beach, so he is no longer a contact. He was the only Taft classmate that ever called me up. I did receive email twice from a mutual Taft classmate, but he also passed away. So much for prep school contacts. The little Cape Cod cottage in Katonah is still across the street from Martha Stewart's estate. Maybe a member of his family still own it. Wolfson Construction also owned the salvage company Merritt, Chapman, and Scott that has the salvage rights on the H.M.S. Republic that sank in 400 feet of water off of Nantucket in 1915 with a billion dollars in gold by today's standards which was never recovered. The gold was supposed to be for Italian earthquake relief. Maybe with the higher price of gold, it is now worth more. Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute probably has looked into to no avail though.

From there I moved the folding oak TV table to the left side of the Samsung television with the Dell 17.3 inch laptop on it. I also moved the two line AT&T telephone from the right desk drawer to the right side of the desk. Thus two people can eat at the teak dining table, and behind it the Dell 17.3 laptop can be used with the left chair turned around.

From there, I moved the Harvard chair to the right side of the saddle color faux leather chair. From there, I moved the dark oak table with the Panasonic two line telephone to the left side of the faux leather chair at the kitchen entrance. From there I moved the round end table to behind the end table between the Ethan Allen recliner and the red leather Chesterfield chair. I also moved the eagle lamp off the end table to the round end table.

The slices of deli ham I am using are very paper thin, but the cheese is just as thin, so it is basically a ham and cheese wrap. I will now rest some more. CIO

If one looks at Michael Louis Scott's Primary Computer System and other computer systems (scott-mike.com) on can look at all of the old computer equipment that I used and threw out, when I reorganized the apartment. I guess the younger generation runs everything off cell phones. I do know how to type off a laptop though. Since in the old days, my Verizon telephone line connected to computers went down to Port Chester and not Greenwich, and I once had the bios on four computer hacked through the Verizon telephone line, I figured out somebody at Verizon in Port Chester or access to it was doing something on the Verizon telephone lines. I used to know Donald Monroe in Manhattan who was from Fort Hood, Texas and lived on Varick Street in Manhattan where the telephone exchange and military intelligence used to be, before they moved to Fort Devans in Mass., so I figured they were doing something with the telephone lines. Fred Von Mierers had a steel www.army.mil two line telephone and Vivian West just had a black steel telephone like they used to make before high tech electronics. Fred show up in Manhattan shaking hands with General Westmoreland at the International Debutant Ball, and Vivian West had a former son in law whose father was an Army Colonel. That is all that I know. The last I knew about forty years ago, Donald Monroe was living on West 13th Street across from the Forbes building near the Windfield Scott townhouse now the Italian studies institute for New York University and across the street from Ramsey Clark who was Lyndon Johnson's attorney general. Donald Monroe was into video, and he one showed a video of fifty thousand Sherman tanks lined up at Fort Hood, Texas, but knowing photography, I thought it might have been a photo montage like Adolf Hitler used to do repeating the same small image over and over again. Fort Hood is the size of the State of Rhode Island, so Donald Monroe walked a lot to explore Manhattan.

When I first met Fred in Octber 1973 at Le Jardin Discotecque East Side Alien | Vanity Fair | March 1990 , one day he was modeling underwear for Sears and Roebuck, and a couple of days later he was pictured chatting with Nelson Rockefeller at some society event in the Eugenia Shepard column of the Daily News, so I figured he might be legitimate unlike some other people that I was around in Manhattan. The last time I actually chatted with him around 1989, he told me he was working for Mrs. Vanderbilt in Newport, Rhode Island. Alas the only big place I know of in Greenwich that has fancy interior decorating is the Greenwich Country Club which my family are no longer members of. It does mention in the article on Fred that he used to hang out at Harry's Bar in Venice, Italy which is famous as an old www.cia.gov hang out in Europe. Perhaps, in Manhattan he also went to another bar on Central Park South called Harry's Bar to meet the wide variety of people he had visit his apartment at 420 East 49th Street. I could never afford to go to that bar, but I went to the Oak Bar at the Plaza Hotel a few times, and it was an interesting place for a $2.25 drink in 1973 with Trader Vics downstairs which was Richard Nixon's favorite restaurant.

Sitting in the saddle color faux leather chair with the red ottoman is very comfortable with a complete view of the entire apartment. Back in May 1972, I visited Turkey formerly known as the Ottoman Empire. When the Turks invaded Vienna, Austria and then were driven out by the King of Poland, they left behind lots of big bags of coffee beans to start the Viennese Coffee Shops trend, where last I heard one can still smoke in Austria coffee shops where tobacco is probably a bit more expensive than cigar cigarettes from Kentucky.
