One of my father's offices was two doors south it for Combustion Engineering in the same building on the ground floor was British Airlines. Alas with those connections, it never did me any good. Fred Von Mierer's apartment at 420 East 49th Street was three blocks east of the Waldorf. General MacArthur and his wife used to live in the Waldorf Towers. The Duke of Windsor and Wallace Simpson used to stay at the Waldorf Towers. The United States ambassador to the www.un.org had an apartment at the Waldorf Towers. Still it is a very busy neighborhood for simple people from Greenwich, Connecticut.

I covered a dinner plate with three ounces of baby spinach leaves, then I added a drained and flaked five ounce can of Bumble Bee solid white albacore tuna fish, four ounces of shredded mozzarella cheese, a quarter of a diced red Bermuda onion, grated parmesan and Romano cheese, and Wish Bone Jalapeņo and Lime dressing. I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice.

On Beta Testing the newest Windows betas on older machines, one can try this an created a Windows 11 beta Rufus for older machines with this method by downloading the latest Windows 11 beta 25300 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windowsinsiderpreviewiso?rfs=1 , and I used this procedure for Windows 11 on an older PC, Windows 11 Rufus installed from USB Pen Drive I made a Windows 11 Rufus USB pen drive with this method this https://rufus.ie/en/ to created a Windows 11 bootable USB pen drive for it to upgrade https://www.elevenforum.com/t/create-bootable-windows-11-iso-without-tpm-secure-boot-and-ram-requirements.1891/ I formatted the over 8 GB USB pen drive in NTFS, and I set Rufus to "MBR" selected and the second and third advanced options selected, also select options no TPM/no Secure boot. On the Dell Optiplex 790 desktop on the left side of the primary work computer on a second partition on it, I installed Windows 12 beta Canary Rufus, and I also configured it. I had a bit of a problem getting Dell B1160W laser printer attached to it working, but now the Dell Laser Printer EFI driver works just fine from Microsoft Word. However, its icon does not show up in the devices and printers icons.

While there I bought a 48 ounce Silk vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $5.99. I then drove the neighbor to Bellmore liquor, but it was closed. We then went by Var Max Liquor pantry, but it was closed. I then took the neighbor to Val's Liquor at the Stop and Shop plaza which was opened. I then dropped the neighbor off at my building. I then went to the Acme grocery store again, but they did not have Fresca. I then went to the Stop and Shop, but they did not have Fresca. I then went to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue, and I bought the last 12 pack of Fresca for $10.79 total. I then sat out in the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park. I then drove down to the Board of Education parking lot Veterans monument, and I sat out for a while. I then returned home. I put away my purchases. I drank a brewed coffee outside. 06/28/23 Wednesday 4:00 A.M.. I put some more tea in the K cups drawers. I went out to www.cvs.com at 644 West Putnam Avenue, but they did not have any Fresca. I then drove all of the way down Greenwich Avenue and down Steamboat Road. Tuesday night Wednesday morning is the slowest time of the week. As far as I can tell Long Island is still there. Somebody with the last name Scott used to own all of Long Island in the old days for any new comers out there. I then drove uptown on Milbank Avenue and back west to the Putnam Shell at 401 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought $20 of self service premium gasoline for $4.799 a gallon for 4.169 gallons at odometer reading of 124385 miles for 60.9 miles driven since Wednesday June 14, 2023 for 14.608 miles per gallon in local traffic. I then returned home. I sat outside. I filed this report. I will now go outside and drink another cup of tea with Splenda sweetener and lemon juice. I once heard that Limeys across the Pond drink a lot of tea, so we once threw them a Boston Tea Party. CIO

06/26/23 Monday 5:15 A.M.. I ate a bowl of Kellogg's raisin bran with almond milk. I channel surfed. Not much in the summer going on here. I guess with the local youth out of school, they are more active in our town on other activities. The summer is short here, so try to make the best of it. The weather in the fall is cool and comfortable, and goes on for a longer period of time. Once winter sets in around Thanksgiving Time, it takes about a month to get use to it. Basically our summer visitors from warmer areas do not realize it takes a bit of stamina to survive the winters. I have seen colder winters than the last two winters, when we did not have too much snow. The people whom enjoy our local clubs in the summer, do not seem to realize they are not too busy in the colder weather, but they still have to be maintained. Also it is usually much colder further north of here. Long Island Sound keeps this area a little bit warmer in the winter.

06/25/23 Sunday 9:05 P.M.. I put the three pound Angus eye round of beef on a roasting rack, and I put it in the Oster convection oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 65 minutes. After it cooks, I will let it rest for 15 minutes. I will then cut off three one fourth thick inch slices which I will put Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce on, and eat them went a bake medium potato with Smart Balance spread a 7 ounce pouch of Green Giant microwave vegetables with a 12 ounce glass of Fresca with three ounces of grapefruit juice. Such is Sunday dinner. CIO
06/25/23 Sunday 8:30 P.M.. I went out to the Acme grocery store at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a five gallon bottle of Primo Vermont spring water with bottle return for $7.49. I then drove downtown to www.cvs.com , and I toured the store. I sat out in the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park for a while. I then drove down to the Board of Education Parking Lot Veterans Monument, and I sat out for a long time. www.starbucks.com was closed at noon today for cleaning. I then went by the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a six pack of Stop and Shop English muffins for $2.99, two 48 ounce Ocean Spray diet cranberry juice for $3.49 each and a 48 ounce Florida Natural Grapefruit juice for $3 for $13.07 total. I then returned home. I brought up the 42 pound bottle of water with my little folding cart. I then put the other groceries away. I went out to the car, and I put the folding cart and the grey bag back in the car. I drank a cold Starbucks Frappucinno outside. I chatted with a friend. I filed this report. 06/24/23 Saturday 1:55 A.M.. I rested a bit. I noticed the night before last at the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue in the frozen fish counter, they have big whole filets of some sort of frozen red fish that are about $25 a piece.. I am not sure if they are salmon or some other types of fish. Back in October 1978, when I first bought the $150 used 1971 yellow Subaru wagon out on www.nantucket.net , I bought two halves of a blank surf casting rod, and the ferrals that I attached it. I then bought a couple of Hopkins lures, and I went out fishing by the old Navy Quonset hut on Lyon Farm Road. In two hours, I caught 78 Blue Fish and two stripped bass. I filleted them on the beach which guts in the ocean might have attracted more fish. Le Languedoc restaurant where I worked gave me 29 cents a pound for the blue fish filets and 59 cents a pound for the stripped bass filets. In my three trips across America in the Subaru, I never caught any fish anywhere else. When on my last trip to California in the used 1973 Volvo sedan from Belgium, on election day in Santa Barbara in 1980, I sold that surf casting rod and tackle box with gear for $10 of gasoline at the Shell gasoline on the Pacific Coast Highway. Thus the Reagan campaign was a low budget operation, but that night he did win the Presidential election, but I never got a job in Government, because having worked for four months at www.cbsnews.com as a clerk typist in 1973 for the commercials' paper work nobody wanted to deal with me except various jobs that were quite difficult and did not reflect my educational back ground.

The HP 17.3 inch laptop on the stainless steel cart in front of the left living room closet is all setup and configured with Windows 12 beta Canary Rufus. It is the bottom of the laptop stack, so the other laptop on top of it have to be moved to the right side on top of the www.harvard.edu chair. I will now shut down the primary work computer. 06/20/23 Tuesday 4:15 A.M.. Back in my days at Polaroid in Cambridge, Polaroid leased millions of dollars of www.ibm.com 360 main frame computers, so I guess that was why I was invited to the Watson family party at the St. Regis roof in Manhattan back in 1971. It was a long drive down from the Boston area and back with pit stops in Greenwich to pick up a director of Polaroid's daughter. We did have a good time. My step father knew the Watson family all of his life, but he did not use computers, but his family were involved in finance, so his people keeping track of his finances in the United States Trust Company, and he started the travel agency at Putnam Trust here in Greenwich which was later bought out by the Bank of New York Mellon and www.chase.com . I guess they have their own computer people. Back when I first returned to Greenwich from www.nantucket.net in December 1983, Putnam Trust used Olivetti Computers and the Greenwich Police Department used Wang Computers. The Greenwich Hospital as I recall used HP computers and the Greenwich Library used IBM computers. I think I might have once chatted with Michael Dell at the Knights of Columbus flea market when he was selling computer parts out of the back of his car, and I told how IBM bought a lot of parts from Asia. At the time a neighbor in Kennebunkport had become the President of IBM after having fifty thousand people work for him in IBM Japan. How times have changed. I think back then Microsoft was still making DOS or maybe Windows 3.0. CIO

06/20/23 Tuesday 1:20 A.M.. I rested until 11:30 P.M.. I went outside, and I drank a brewed coffee. I ate a bowl of Kellogg's raisin bran with almond milk. When I lived in the Boston area, it was an interesting city with lots of students, but since I was working I did not attend school there. I did visit the https://library.harvard.edu/libraries/widener a few times. I recall once being a traveler possibly in the spring of 1977, and when the library closed I slept on a stone bench at the open https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carpenter_Center_for_the_Visual_Arts . Since I did not have any money, I was sort of hungry. Possibly that time, I snuck into one of the cafeteria's at www.harvard.edu to get a bit to eat. Harvard has a lot of old buildings, so there are not many majestic building except possibly the Harvard Business School across the Charles River. In the summers while at Polaroid, I would drive into Cambridge at night after work, and wander around. In the Pier One Imports building there was a European style coffee shop and a bar called the "Club Casablanca", where I would drink a Heineken. I liked driving by Dr. Land's house on Bridle Street which was near Longfellow House. Sometimes I would run into other classmates from my previous schools. I took a lot of pictures in the park along the Charles River. Elsie's Sandwich shop just south of Harvard Square had a roast beef sandwich on a bulkie rolls with Bermuda onion and Russian dressing for $1.79. They also had a branch sandwich shop on the road to Wood's Hole. I explored Harvard Yard a number of times. A classmate of mine from Taft had an apartment near Harvard Square where he lived with Lisa Halaby before she became Queen Nord of Jordan. He also lived with Jimmy Buffett in Key West, when she met the King of Jordan. He also had the road house bar and grill on Fairgrounds Road on www.nantucket.net . The Harvard Square area has a lot of traffic. They had a newspaper stand there with newspapers from around the world. The Bickford family from Greenwich had a coffee shop there. I think on Christmas Eve in 1971 in a snow store, I bought a bottle of champagne for my family at a liquor store near Harvard Square. Two classmates of mine from Greenwich Country Day had rooms over looking the street leading to Harvard Square. I also visited the rooms of a Taft Classmate. I saw three African American Taft classmates there too. Where my family lived in Weston was near the Harvard Arboretum. In taking pictures around Boston, I photographed around the North End a lot, the Boston Common, and I would frequently drive out to Concord. I also explored the campus of www.mit.edu . It seemed in Cambridge a lot of the students were older than I was, so not many people paid much attention to me. I did see two classmates from Greenwich Country Day School at the Club Casa Blanca. The Taft classmate living near Harvard Square had two Doberman dogs, and he once gave away two dozen Doberman puppies at Harvard Square. At the Polaroid Research building on Osborne Street, Dr. Land and his associates would eat at the Greek restaurant across from the Necco Candy factory. Tech Square had the backup computers for NASA. Since when working I always had a big aluminum camera case with five Polaroid 180 cameras full of Polaroid film to test, a lot of the people around me thought I was some sort of agent photographing the many hippies in the area, since I had short hair, but I did drive a black Mustang convertible. I do not ever recall driving my 1951 Mercedes Benz 300 B touring car into Cambridge, but I think a few times I drove it to the Mercedes Benz Cadillac dealer on Commonwealth Avenue. Once I drove it to Brown University to visit a Taft classmate. I also drove it to Marblehead once for a summer swim party. I did drive it out from Illinois in 1968 and a return round trip in 1969 - 1970 and another round trip in the fall of 1971, so I was seen driving on the highways of America. I left Chicago in the late fall of 1972 with a Mercedes Diesel sedan that I drove to Boston in, but it had a mechanical problems, so I just left it at the house in Weston, when I came down to New York City around the first of 1973. Back in those days, Park Avenue in Manhattan was full of Mercedes 600 Limousines. I had sold my 1951 Mercedes 300 B to a pharmacist in Watertown before going to Europe in 1972. I saw a lot of taxis that looked like it in Athens, Greece.

I then drove down to the Board of Education Parking Lot Veterans monument, and I had a picnic in the Greenwich Common. I then sat out for a while at the Veterans Monument. I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com . I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue. I bought a six pack of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.50, six 20 ounce cans of Stop and Shop pineapple chunks for $1.69 each, and two four packs of Chaboni sugar free yogurt for $4 each four pack for $19.64 total. I then returned home. I did not get any mail. I put away my food. I put the grey bag in the car, and I drank a brewed coffee outside. I filed this report. I will now go outside again. CIO

I was reminded today that back in the early summer of 1975 when my troubles began, I was walking around the lacrosse field at Greenwich Country Day near my family home off Husted Lane, and I ran into somebody I knew riding a horse. I asked if I could ride it. The horse took off at a full gallop across the three hundred yard long lacrosse field, and when it reached the woods by the Greenwich Country Club fourth hole, it threw me over its head, head first into a tree trunk or stone wall. I was dazed. I returned the horse to its owner and walked home. I might have gotten a concussion, but I did not think to go to the hospital. Shortly there after I got a post card from www.nantucket.net, so I hitchhiked up there and camped out for a month. I did not have a brain scan until I finally quit living in Nantucket in December 1983, when the Greenwich Hospital gave me a complete physical with a brain scan, and told me I was disabled.

I then drove down to the Board of Education Parking Lot Veterans Monument and I sat out for a long time. I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com . I then sat out in front of the Senior and the Arts Center. I then went to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue, and I toured the store. I then sat out in the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park for a long time. I used the bathroom at the CFCF coffee. I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue. From the clearance section, I bought five 15 ounce Wish Bone Jalapeņo and Lime dressing for $1.69 each, two six packs of Stop and Shop English muffins for $1.50 each, and two 48 ounce Ocean Spray diet cranberry juice for $3.49 each for $18.53 total. My friends from the American Red Cross pulled out of Greenwich around 1976. I guess although they were well networked, they were more connected with other areas like Manhattan than this small rural community. When in Athens, Greece in the spring of 1976, I met the head of the International Red Cross from Switzerland that my classmate recognized. Also a retired relative worked as a Medical Doctor in the World Health Organization for her entire career after the Peace Corps when first out of medical school at www.nyu.edu .

06/11/23 Sunday 11:50 A.M.. I chatted with a friend. I went downtown to the Board of Education Veterans monument and the Senior and the Arts Center, and I sat out for a very long time. I used the bathroom twice at www.starbucks.com . I brought my own thermos of coffee with me to save money. I bought an Ace's High scratch card at Zen Stationary, and I lost as usual to the Bank of Bombay. After a long time, I drove to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue, and I toured the store. They now have a large section on the north aisle with pet supplies, but they moved the electronic and tools section somewhere else or got rid of it. I sat out in the Junior Chamber of Commerce Park for a long time. I gave a crow a bag of candy somebody left behind. I used the bathroom twice at the CFCF coffee. I chatted with another person about my idea of creating optic computers https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optical_computing that nobody is interested in, although the speed of light optics might be faster than binary electrons. I guess the current computer hardware is good enough. I guess one could make a crystal ball with an electron binary computer inside, and have it light up with fake colorful lights like it was a real optic computer, but it might not be able to cool itself fast enough in a crystal ball. Maybe a crystal cube with ventilation holes would be better. I then returned home. I sat outside. I filed this report. I will now go outside and drink a brewed coffee. I have a 2 P.M. appointment tomorrow, so I have to stay up longer today to get back on a day schedule tomorrow. CIO

On the upper left Dell Optiplex 790 desktop with Windows 10 at the far end of the oak dining table, I shrank the primary partition, and I installed Windows 12 beta Canary Rufus on it in a second partition. I still have to configure it. To install the USB pen drive on the Dell Optiplex 790 desktop, one has to enable TCM in bios. Also the F12 boot option does not work, but one has to press the ESC key, and it boots the USB pen drive with Windows 12 beta Canary Rufus.

06/11/23 Sunday 1:45 A.M.. I rested until 1 A.M.. I went outside, and I drank a brewed coffee. I first visited Nantucket in the summer of 1968, and I stayed for a long weekend on Orange Street with some local youth from Greenwich. I recall returning the following summer, and I stayed with some local youth from Boston in a bunk house near the Jetties beach. I returned again the following summer with a friend from British Airways in Boston, and he knew how to surf having lived in Hawaii. In the summer of 1974, Fred Von Mierers let me use his apartment in Manhattan while he visited Nantucket. Fred took over Billy Baldwin's interior decorating business, and Billy knew the Duke of Windsor, and Billy had been vacationing out on Nantucket since the mid 1930s. In the summer of 1975, I returned to Nantucket, and I camped out at a camp site for about month on Fairgrounds Road near the Camp Richard boy scout camp. In the summer of 1976, I returned for a week to Nantucket with a car, and I stayed for a week at the Pollard's Guest House near the White Elephant Hotel. In April 1977, I returned darkly tanned from Key West, and I stayed until Thanksgiving. I lived at Mrs. Florence France's guest house at 31 India Street working at the Gordon Folger Hotel as a pot scrubber. I think at the end of the season, I changed to Le Languedoc as a pot scrubber. In May 1978, I returned Nantucket with John Bolton, and we stayed at 31 India Street, and I had the same job routine, but working much longer at Le Languedoc as a pot scrubber dish washer. We also worked on painting the second oldest house on Nantucket on Lincoln Road over looking the Jettes Beach. We left in October with the $150 used Subaru that I put a new clutch in. I put a window box outside our window with Morning Glories in it, and by the end of the season the back of the house was covered with Morning Glories. We returned in April 1979 to 31 India Street after a trip to California and Florida. We only stayed about two weeks, since early in the season no work was available. I return on my own in April 1983, when I returned from Oslo, Norway, and I stayed until December 1983 working as the head dishwasher at Le Languedoc. I lived at the Grennon's guest house basement on Hussey Street. When I returned back to Greenwich around the summer of 1987, I returned to Nantucket for a weekend with a friend from this area, and we stayed at the new Sherburne Associates Hotel near the Nantucket Yacht Club. That is the last time I was actually on Nantucket. The problem with spending two much time at the beach in America, as one gets older one has to worry about skin cancer.

Back in Manhattan in the late 1970s, I read in the New York Times that police chief came of www.nantucket.net to Manhattan investigating the disappearance of a Canadian woman from Nantucket that worked for Morgan Stanley. During the third week of October 1977, when I was working at Le Languedoc on Nantucket on a warm day, I jogged out to the Mount Vernon Farm, and I was sun bathing on the beach there. I decided to go for a swim. When I was out about a hundred yards from shore, I got caught in a strong rip tide that felt like a whale swimming along side of me, and I swam with it, and I was dragged by the rip tide about two miles east to where the sand spit stuck out in the water by Surfside by the Nantucket sewer beds, and I was able to walk to shore. Maybe that is what happened to the missing Canadian woman.

If one is trying to drive all the way to Kennebunkport, Maine in electric car, there is a charging station on the Massachusetts turnpike east bound rest area in Framingham, Massachusetts, and in Kennebunkport, Maine at the Nonantum Hotel https://nonantumresort.com/ , there are a few charging stations. On can created a Windows 11 beta Rufus for older machines with this method by downloading the latest Windows 11 beta 25300 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windowsinsiderpreviewiso?rfs=1 , and I used this procedure for Windows 11 on an older PC, Windows 11 Rufus installed from USB Pen Drive I made a Windows 11 Rufus USB pen drive with this method this https://rufus.ie/en/ to created a Windows 11 bootable USB pen drive for it to upgrade https://www.elevenforum.com/t/create-bootable-windows-11-iso-without-tpm-secure-boot-and-ram-requirements.1891/ I formatted the over 8 GB USB pen drive in NTFS, and I set Rufus to "MBR" selected and the second and third advanced options selected, also select options no TPM/no Secure boot. The different language versions of the Windows 11 *.iso download are here https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11 thus for example if one wanted Windows 11 Professional in French download the *.iso file and make the Windows 11 Rufus USB pen drive the same way. Once again the Complete PC backup does not work, but Aomei backup does work. On the Windows 12 Canary Rufus beta install, the Windows Complete PC backup will not work, so one has to use the Aomei backup, which I just proved with a few complications does work. One can boot this USB drive https://www.hirensbootcd.org/usb-booting/ to do a low level format and use the Aomei utility to restore a backup, if one has made one with Aomei. When restoring the backup, I also selected the option to align SSD drive since the first drive is an SSD drive. To make the backup with Aomei, the free edition is here https://www.ubackup.com/ . One has to make the backup to a second internal hard drive or an external hard drive. A lot of the low income retired seniors and youth in this area living around www.ibm.com 's World Headquarter are on low income budgets, so they find Microsoft betas as long as they last useful.

06/07/23 Wednesday 5:35 A.M.. I went outside twice. At the far end of the oak dining table, I tried install Windows 12 beta Canary on a second partition, but neither partitions would work. I then booted the EZBCD pen drive, and I did a low level format on the first SSD drive. I then restored the Aomei backup from the second hard drive, but it still would not boot. I then booted the Windows 12 beta Canary USB install, and I tried Repair and Repair Startup, but it did not fix the problem. I then tried booting the computer from the first SSD drive, and it did an Automatic repair on startup, and the system now works the same as before. Apparently the second install was messing up the Master Boot Record.
I will now go outside and drink a cup of tea with Splenda sweetener and lemon juice. CIO

When I arrived in Oslo, Norway in February 1983, there was six feet of snow on the ground, so there must have been more snow in Stockholm, Sweden, where my flight was supposed to land. I did find Oslo an adventure, and possibly since my father's middle name is Dale, I might be part Norwegian. When I used Fred Von Mierers' apartment at 420 East 49th Street, the Norwegian and Swedish consulates were just a block to the west in the Random House building and the former British consulate was just around the corner. Times change, and I guess there is a new group of younger people walking around in circles in Manhattan.

I went to the Acme grocery store at 160 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought two 48 ounce diet Ocean Spray cranberry juice with lime for $3.49 each, two 12 ounce Perdue chicken patties for $3 each, a five pound bag of Russet potatoes for $5.99, and a roast beef wrap for $7.99 for $27.06 total. I then returned home. I put away the groceries. I put the grey bag back in the car. I picked up the mail. I drank a brewed coffee outside. I filed this report. I will now go outside again. CIO

I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of www.coke.com Zero Sugar.

06/03/23 Saturday 1:25 A.M.. The HP Tower Windows 12 Canary Rufu beta machine is all setup. I am now making an Aomei backup of it to the second internal hard drive. On the HP tower with the beta, since it is the same computer, I was able to activate my copy of Win TV 10 with the same product key, and it plays off the living room cable box. It also has Office 365 on it good until September 2023 and Norton Internet Security.

At the far end of the oak dining table on the on the HP tower computer on the floor on the right side, I was able to install Windows 12 beta Canary Rufus, by changing the CMOS setup to accept the USB pen drive, and I also had to delete the Windows 11 installation. I still have to configure it.

I then returned home.
