I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com . I chatted with a Starbucks regular. I toured www.cvs.com . I noticed a few recent changes on Greenwich Avenue. The Bruckner juice bar in the basement of Meli Meli at Grigg street is now gone and for rent. They have three port-o-potties at the Board of Education Parking lot. Their number is 1-800-toilet. There is a new women's cosmetics shop opening up across the street from the old Ralph Lauren building, and they are looking for help. They are putting a new custom furniture shop at the top of Greenwich Avenue on the west side where the jogging shoe shop used to be. At the top of Greenwich Avenue on the east side of the street at Pickwick Plaza, they cut down a very big beautiful fifty foot tall tree which was not rotten. They left a 20 foot tall stump, so maybe they are going to put in an American Indian totem pole. According to the Greenwich Time ten years ago, a Chicago real estate firm bought the Pickwick Plaza complex for $400 million. Possibly they are going to expand the office complex at the top of Greenwich Avenue on that very valuable property with a new building. After my walk I returned home, and I sat outside briefly.

When I went outside at 8:30 A.M. this morning, my neighbors reported that they had just seen the 55 pound coyote cross the baseball field and head by the picnic tables on the east side of the building into the woods. One of my neighbor blew their air horn. I sat outside, and once again and at 9:20 A.M. this morning; the coyote appeared at the entrance path of the woods. I blew my air horn three times, and I told two neighbors. Earlier another neighbor reported it to the police. The parks and recreation workers saw the earlier sighting. Thus the coyote seems to be very active in the daytime. CIO

Graduation Week https://www.usma.edu/SitePages/Home.aspx and https://www.usma.edu/parents/siteassets/graduation%20activities%202018.pdf . The Lee family whom seem to think they have some influence at West Point do not like seeing members of the Scott family showing up. Alas, in my civilian career I have met a few other military families. Still the local followers of the Lee family always make sure I am broke during the week of graduation, so I can not show up. Still the Scott family is such a large family more than likely a couple members might be able to attend the graduation ceremonies if they happen to be in the area. I took down the Swedish blue and yellow cross flag off the white bookcase at the kitchen entrance, since although I drive a Swedish Volvo, more than likely all of the Swedes in the area have gone back to Scandinavia for the summer. I can always put it back up once it gets cold next fall. In it place I put the United States of America stars and stripes flag up at that location with the stars on that flag in the upper left corner unlike the big one on the right living room window with the stars in the upper right corner. However, 20 years ago at this time of year, I was shot at by a sniper at the southwest picnic area of Tod's Point which was never solved. I did chat with the current commander and chief about that incident when it happened. There are always a few disgruntled citizens traveling in this country this time of year, when they travel north for the warmer weather. I also found a white chair with a gold cushion by the dumpster earlier this past evening. I put it in the kitchen with the blue orthopedic cushion on it. I moved the small oak chair from the kitchen to the near side of the oak dining table. I took the pink cushion off the chair at the apartment entrance, and I put it on the www.harvard.edu chair to the left of the primary work computer. I will now go outside again. I used the bathroom at Starbucks. I then walked with the local down to Zyn Stationary. I bought a Ace's High scratch card for a dollar, and I lost. We chatted with another local. I took the 19 inch Seiki flat screen that I took out of the kitchen, and I placed it on the right rear of the Brother laser printer to the right side of the primary computer setup, and I have it hooked up to the living room cable system. 05/20/18 Sunday 12:35 A.M. Good news, I was able to fix the kitchen TV setup. I replaced the short defective coaxial cable from the rear of the living room cable box to the coaxial gold two splitter with a good short coaxial cable, and that fixed the problem. The kitchen television is as clear as a bell. I moved the small oak chair from the near side end of the oak dining table into the kitchen to have available for secure television watching. The kitchen except for the entrance is surrounded by brick walls. I can always move that little chair to get into the supplies of the far left lower kitchen cabinet. I will now go outside again. CIO

I once took this short cut when I was driving across country by myself from New Mexico to get to San Francisco faster, and I recall picking up a hitch hiker with a military bearing, and I asked him what he was doing out there in the middle of no where. I ate a salad consisting of a few handfuls of ripped iceberg lettuce on a large dinner plate and three diced Kosher dill spears and three ounces of Cracker Barrel Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese diced into half inch by quarter inch chunks and a diced fourth of a red bell pepper and a 4 ounce tin of Bumble Bee white breast of chicken meat and two large mushrooms cut into thin slices and 2.75 ounces of Fresh Gourmet cheese and garlic croutons seasoned with garlic powder, ground black pepper, Italian seasoning, oregano, Lowry's seasoned salt, with grated parmesan and Romano cheese on it and Stop and Wish Bone Red Wine Vinaigrette salad dressing and extra virgin olive oil and a 12 ounce glass of Fresco. I also reheated for six minutes 3/4ths of a cup of the Cajun Spanish rice mixture with a quarter of a cup of water which I ate. I will now drink a cup of coffee with Equal sweetener and milk outside. 05/17/18 Thursday 4:10 P.M. I threw out the garbage. I went by the www.chase.com bank at Deerfield Place. I then went by Charles Stuttig lock smith on Greenwich Avenue, and I got a copy of a key made for $3.16. I then drove the back way to Old Greenwich. I got my hair cut at the http://www.haircutplace.net/ for $30 and $5 tip for $35 total. I then toured the Old Greenwich Rummage Room Thrift Shop. They have a copy of Edgar Rice Borrough's "Tarzan" there for $5. I then use the bathroom at www.cvs.com . I then went to Feinstod hardware store, and I bought two windshield wipers for $11.75, but they did not fit my Volvo wagon, so I returned them. I then bought a small Shoreline air horn for $9.99 and .64 tax for $10.63 total. It might be useful for scaring away Coyotes. They have a bigger one for $25. I then went by the Sunoco station across from the Old Greenwich Post Office, but they did not have my model windshield wiper. I then headed over to Stamford Volvo on U.S. 1, but just east of Cytex just into Stamford, I saw a www.autozone.com , and I bought a 24 inch and 22 inch Bosch windshield wiper for $25.99 each and $3.30 tax for $55.28 total They installed them right away for free, and I tipped the installer $4. The old windshield wipers were quite worn out and not good in the rain this morning. I then returned to downtown Greenwich Avenue across from www.cvs.com . I gave a local without parking change a dollar off my parking card. One can get parking meter cards at the little office on the rear lower level of the Greenwich Town Hall. I chatted with a local. I used the bathroom at CVS. I bought a Daisy blueberry muffin for $1.29. I drove the local further downtown. I then returned home. I could see the big stump of the very large tree that fell down on Field Point Road. I sat outside chatting with neighbors. I filed this report. I will now go outside again. CIO

I stopped by www.cvs.com , and I bought five 3.5 tins of Bumble Bee sardines for $6.59 total. I then bought another 3.5 ounce tin of Bumble Bee sardines for $1.59 and two 40 ounce containers of low sodium V8 juice for $2 each and for 75% off two 18 table DulceGas for $1.74 each and also for 75% off a 30 tablet CVS chewable probiotic for $5.32 for $14.39 total. After I finished my walk, I used the bathroom again at Starbucks. I then stopped by Zyn Stationary, and I bought an Ace's High scratch card for a dollar, and I lost. I then sat out for a while longer. I then went by the Acme grocery store, and I bought a 10 pack of frozen blueberry waffles for $1.99, four 10.5 ounce Campbell's French onion soup for $1.99 each and a bulb of garlic for .79 for $10.74 total. I bought for 25% off a very nice Queen Anne style wing chair with dark pattern Clarence House fabric which might have Scotch Guard on it for $45. I just barely fit it into the back of my Volvo wagon with the rear tail gate opened. I drove slowly the half mile back to my building. I used my little folding cart to bring it up to my apartment. I took the green slip cover off the old dumpster Queen Anne chair, and I put the slip cover on my bedroom closet shelf. I used my little cart to bring down the old dumpster Queen Anne chair. I moved the other new Queen Anne chair from in front of the window sill to the hallway entrance. I put the newer Queen Anne Wing Chair in front of the window sill along side the Ethan Allen recliner. EDT, a full grown coyote about the size of a small German Shepard walked along the baseball field fence into the ice skating parking lot looking at the little kids with families and small dogs in the play ground and walked around the building to the north end and back into the woods on the east side of my building at 71 Vinci Drive in Greenwich, Connecticut. Three other neighbors saw it, and it did not seem to be afraid of people, and it is unusual to see them in the middle of the day. Thus there probably is one coyote in our small two acre patch of woods on the east side of the building. CIO

I went by the www.chase.com ATM machine at Deerfield Place. I went down to www.cvs.com on Greenwich Avenue. I used the bathroom there. I bought a 5 ounce bag of dried Philippine mangos for $2.99. I sat out for a while across the street. I then drove further downtown to the Board of Education parking lot. I bought a cup of Peak coffee at www.starbucks.com for $2.07, but they took $2.03 for it, since I did not have any change. I drank it with Splenda sweetener and half and half in front of the Senior and the Arts Center looking at the rear end of the horse sculpture. I then used the bathroom at Starbucks. I then walked the lower Greenwich Avenue area. I sat out at various locations. I chatted with a Starbucks regular in front of the large bed of white tulips in front of the Restoration Hardware store building. I then returned home, and I sat outside briefly. I delivered a package outside a neighbor's door. I filed this report. I will now go outside again. CIO

05/04/18 Friday 4:40 A.M. I turned both thermostats all of the way off to zero. I put the table fan on the front of the white bookcase at the kitchen entrance going on low speed. I put the pedestal fan on the right side of the mahogany bureau in the living room going at low speed. Since I use LED light bulbs through out the apartment that do not emit heat and use less electricity, it is economical to leave them turned on when active in the apartment. CIO

A lot of "Old Guard" yankees do not use air conditioning and the prefer to save the money for a bit of extra heat in the winter. Also most Europeans do not use air conditioning, since the seem to enjoy the warmer temperatures. I will now go outside again. CIO

The apartment complex is on the waterfront, and it has 400 acres of parks around it. However, one does not have as much security there as other areas in Connecticut. I went outside again. My current Optimum bill was $208.62, which is about $65 for high speed Cable Modem, $35 for Optimum Voice long distance and about $108.62 for premium Cable TV. However that includes $35 in discounts for all three packages which covers the two cable boxes which are about $12 and taxes other fees. I also paid my second www.geico.com payment on my four payment plan for the six month policy. I printed out two copies of my Microsoft Sunset Income versus Spending report for April 2018, and I have one copy read to mail with a forever stamp to an interested relative. 05/01/18 Tuesday 1:20 A.M. Happy May Day. I went downtown to the little park across the street from www.cvs.com . I picked a up prescription at CVS. I then sat outside across the street some more. I chatted with a relative. I then used the bathroom at CVS. I then toured the store. I bought three small plants about 4 inches high in 1.5 inch diameter plastic pots for $1.99 each and .38 tax for $6.35 total. I then sat out across the street some more. I chatted with a couple local dog walkers. I then drove down to the Board of Education parking lot. I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue. I sat out at various locations. It was so slow that even the Sundown Saloon was closed. I noticed that in the far left window of the Grand Restaurant being refurbished in that new building, there is a for rent sign for a three bedroom penthouse apartment with 3.5 bathrooms, but it does not say how much. There is a new eye glass shop opened a few doors north of the Apple store. They are having Art on the Avenue with a few paintings in shop windows. I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com half way through my walk. I sat out after my walk for a long time. I then took an eight mile drive, driving down by the waterfront on Steamboat Road. It looks pretty much the same down there. I drove through Bruce Park and north on Indian Field Road and back West on East Putnam Avenue and back down Greenwich Avenue again. I then drove West on Railroad Avenue and back northeast on Arch Street and up Mason Street to west on Elm Street and north by J.P. Morgan private banking and west on West Putnam Avenue. I stopped by the Putnam Shell at 401 West Putnam Avenue, and I checked the air on my tires for 32 PSI. I then bought $13 of self service V-Power gasoline at $3.899 a gallon for 3.3333 gallons at odometer reading of 117005 miles for 48.6 miles driven since Friday April 20, 2018 for 14.582 miles per gallon in local traffic. I then returned home. I sat outside briefly. I took the old tulips bulbs outs of my three four inch pots, and I transplanted the three small plants into the three 4 inch pots. I put them back on the Lazy Susan on the Oak Dining table with the three 1.5 inch plastic pots behind them. I will leave the old bulbs out in the gardeners big terracotta pot possibly to be replanted again. I will now go outside again to bay at the full moon. CIO
