End of Scott's Notes week 05/31/02:

Note: <888> 05/31/02 Friday 11:55 P.M.: I finished the laundry. I had the rest of the Chinese mixture on white rice with ice tea and a cappuccino. I cleaned up. I went out, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue. I returned home. I will now send out my weekly note. CIO

Note: <888> 05/31/02 Friday 8:00 P.M.: About 3 A.M. this past morning, I had a roast beef sandwich on a Kaiser roll with Hellmann’s mayonnaise, horse radish, salt, and pepper along with ice tea. I went to bed about 4 A.M. this past morning. I think I was up about 3 P.M.. I had breakfast of oatmeal, toast, orange juice, coffee, vitamins, and supplements. I relaxed a bit. About 6 P.M. NOAA weather radio started going off with warnings for this area. I started my laundry, and I am on the dry cycle with about 45 minutes to go. I checked the outside weather conditions, and it sounds like the weather front might be arriving shortly.  I checked the Volvo mechanics manual I have, and it said that if the noise I am getting from the underneath of the car is a transmission noise, that the car might need to have 90 weight oil added which is what it uses for the manual transmission gear box.  I will have it checked on Tuesday at Exxon station next to the library. CIO

Note: <888> 05/31/02 Friday 1:35 A.M.: I went through www.geocities.com/mikelscott/scotwork.htm . I still have some individual sending me daily an email virus that Norton Anti Virus 2002 catches, and its origins daily or a different spammed email address each day. I suppose somebody with my email address might have an email worm on their machine. Well, I guess I will shut down for the night and watch some television. I checked out www.lanzarote.com . Apparently they now get 1.7 million visitors a year. CIO

Note: <888> 05/31/02 Friday 12:05 A.M.: I put the ice tea in the refrigerator. I went out, and I walked lower Greenwich Avenue. I drove down by the waterfront. I stopped by the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street. I then drove part way down the Avenue, and I tried driving up the steep hill at Indian Field Road, and the car went up it fine in second gear. However, I still have the rattling noise at lower idle which might be coming from the gear box or clutch. Another remote possibility might be that one of the cylinders is not firing properly, but it sounds like it is running smoothly. I will have Exxon next to the Greenwich Library check on it next week, if I get on an earlier schedule. I then went by the Food Emporium, and I bought four Tropicana half gallons of orange juice with calcium for $2.50 each, a 38 ounce box of Pepperidge Farm goldfish crackers for $5.29, AC five pound bag of sugar for $2.49 a boneless chicken breasts at $1.99 a pound for $4.30. However, the total came out to $20.77 since the cash register computer only took of the discount on two orange juices instead of four, so the cashier voided one of the orange juices to lower the price. I then returned home. I guess I will do some regular computer work.  CIO

Note: <888> 05/30/02 Thursday 10:00 P.M.: I went out about 1:30 P.M.. I stopped by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop, and I bought a eight ounce bottle of English Leather men’s cologne for $5. I then went by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street. I next drove down by the waterfront. I then made my 3 P.M. appointment. I then went by Gateway automotive, and I bought 3 feet of 5/16” hose for $2 and four hose clamps for $3.40 for $5.40 total. I then drove down to by the waterfront, and I sat out for a while. I then drove to another location on the waterfront. I then drove downtown. I stopped by the Greenwich Hardware store, and they gave me a ¼” by 1” bolt, ¼” by 1.25” bolt, two ¼” inch nuts, and two ¼ inch lock washers which normally would have been .35. I told them that Gateway Automotive sells Nu Finish car wax for $9.99. I then walked up to CVS, and I bought a Glade Plugin Scented Oil refill Mystical Garden scent for $2.99 and a green apple car air freshener for $1.19 plus .25 tax for $4.43. I chatted with a local. I complete my walk of the entire length of Greenwich Avenue, and I put the car air freshener in the car.  I bought a medium size pineapple from the Greenwich Avenue vegetable market for $2. I then returned a DVD disk to the Greenwich Library. I the went by Val’s liquor, and I bought a four ounce bottle of Angostura bitters for $4. I then returned home. I put the new glade plugin in the kitchen to scent the apartment. I then put part of the 5/16 inch hose with two clamps from the Volvo fuel injection chamber to the PCV valve, and I put another part of the hose with two clamps from the radiator to the radiator overflow tank. I also cleaned the PCV valve, and I put a larger 2 inch clamp around the PCV valve hose that connects to the valve cover.  The car is a lot peppier and runs smoother with the tighter vacuum system, but there is still a slight rattle at low idle. I do not think it is the exhaust system, but I have the bolts to try to secure the manifold pipe to the body bracket when the car is cold. I checked the Volvo by wedging a screw driver in the space between the manifold pipe and body bracket, and the car still had the rattle.  Two days ago, I checked the clutch clearance, and it is fine.  The car clutch and gear box work fine when driving and do not make any noise. I am not sure what is causing the rattling sound. I will have to wait until I am on an earlier schedule to have Greenwich Exxon check it out. I have not had Greenwich Exxon check the rear end and gear box fluid in eight years, but I thought the Oil Star lube garage checked those fluids whenever I have the oil changed.   Since the car seems to be running fine, I do not intend to make any major expenses on a 26 year old Volvo 244 DL. I then went upstairs, and I had a chilled Barq’s root beer in a frosted mug. I then made up another batch of rice, and I reheated some of my Chinese beef vegetable mixture, and I put it on top of the rice. I had this for dinner with ice tea and a cappuccino. I am simmering a 3 quart pot of concentrated tea to make 12 quarts ice tea www.geocities.com/mikelscott/icetea.htm right now.  I will now peel and chop up the pineapple and season it with orange juice and angostura bitters. CIO

Note: <888> 05/30/02 Thursday 1:00 P.M.: I watched television and slept last night. I was up at noon today. I had breakfast of three medium boiled eggs, oatmeal toast, orange juice, coffee, vitamins, and supplements. I had to throw out one of the cooked eggs since it was no good.  I have a 3 P.M. appointment today. CIO

Note: <888> 05/29/02 Wednesday 10:25 P.M.: I rested until 6 P.M..  I had ten Carr’s crackers with mozzarella cheese and ice tea. I then rested until 9:30 P.M.. I had some of the Chinese mixture from last night with rice and ice tea. CIO

Note: <888> 05/29/02 Wednesday 4:10 P.M.: I was up at noon today.  had breakfast of oatmeal, oatmeal bread toast, orange juice, coffee, vitamins, and supplements. I went out, and I checked my Volvo’s exhaust system, and the slight rattle I hear when I start up the car does not seem to be coming from the exhaust system. I think the problem might be that since I have it set on a lower idle, the car runs a little rougher when starting until it warms up. However, on a lower idle, one does not have to worry about it getting too hot in traffic in the summer. I touched up a few spots with touch paint. I came back inside, and I relaxed a bit. I had a relative call. I tried out Net2Phone, and it works quite well, and I chatted with a few people. I will now do some regular computer work instead of going out in the heat of the day. CIO

Note: <888> 05/29/02 Wednesday 2:40 A.M.: I sifted through my email. I will now shut down and relax before going to bed. CIO

Note: <888> 05/29/02 Wednesday 12:55 A.M.: I went out, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue. I sat out at various locations for a while. I then drove down by the waterfront. I then drove over to Grass Island, and I sat out by the waterfront for a half hour with the Coleman electronic mosquito repeller clipped to my shirt collar.  There tend to be a lot of bugs at Grass Island in the evening.  The Coleman electronic mosquito repeller was effective, and no mosquitoes or gnats bit me, although I could see some close by.  Since the package comes with three, the idea way to wear them might be one clipped to the collar and one clipped to either pocket of ones pants. I then went back home. I readjusted my Volvo idle downward, so the car does not overheat on the warmer days. I notice from inside the hood when one looks down on the manifold pipe that connects to the exhaust system, one can easily see the clamp it is suppose to connect to with what looks like it would take any nut and bolt and possibly a lock washer and washer. I will have to check it out when it is cold. I checked my oil too. I then went by the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street. I then went to the Greenwich Library, and I checked out a DVD video disk. I also read the Wall Street Journal and P.C. Magazine. I then went by Stop and Shop, and I bought a 12 pack of Northern quilted tissue for $3, 10 pack of S&S dry milk for $5.49, a Marie Callender boneless chicken breast dinner for $1.99, a four ounce container of sun dried tomatoes .99, a Stouffer’s 21 ounce lasagna $2.87, two four ounce cans of Sunny Deli portabella mushrooms .75 each, a green pepper at .99 a pound .41, a Vidalia onion at .79 a pound .58 for $17.01 total. I then returned home. I relaxed a bit. I chatted with a friend about 9:30 P.M.. I then started preparing a more elaborate dinner. I first too my China Village rice cooker. I washed a cup of white rice in a bowl, and then I strained it with a strainer. I then put it in the China village rice cooker with a cup and a half of water and five pads of margarine. I put the steamer insert and lid on, and I put it in the microwave oven. I set it for 11 minutes, but I did not start it yet. The China village rice cooker for a cup of white rice takes 11 minutes in microwave and five minutes standing covered afterwards. I then started preparing the ingredients for the meal. I took a 10 ounce shell steak, and I cut off the fat and bone. I cut it into ¼” by 1” by 1” chunks for about a cup of steak chunks which I put in a small dish. I then peeled and sliced eight cloves of garlic. I next peeled and diced ¾ of a Vidalia onion or about a cup. I put this in another small dish. I sliced on an angle half inch lengths of a half pound of asparagus. I cut off about a cup and a half of broccoli florets in smaller pieces. I opened and drained the two four ounce cans of Sunny Deli portabella mushrooms. I cleaned and diced a green pepper. I diced the four ounce container of sun dried tomatoes. I cut off the corn off an ear of corn on the cob. I rinced a half pound package of snow peas. I put all of these ingredients in separate small dishes for holding.  I then took my 12 inch Griswold cast iron fry pan with glass lid. I put it on the large electric burner on medium high. I added six tablespoons of olive oil and four pads of margarine. Once it was heated, I added the eight sliced cloves of garlic, the cup of shell steak chunks, and the cup of diced Vidalia onions. I sautéed these about five minutes adding ground black pepper and garlic powder.  I also started the rice cooking for 11 minutes in the microwave oven.  After sautéing the beef, garlic, and onions for five minutes, I added the broccoli florets, diced green pepper, sliced asparagus, and corn. I stirred and continue cooking on medium high another five minutes seasoning the mixture with ground black pepper, garlic powder, celery salt, chicken and meat seasoning, Basil, Oregano, Italian spices, ginger, nutmeg, Old Bay seasoning, and Chinese five spice which I mixed into the mixture. I then added a tablespoon of sesame oil, a tablespoon of Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce, two tablespoons of Modena, Italy balsamic vinegar, four tablespoons of La Choy low sodium soy sauce, a teaspoon of Angostura bitters and three quarters of a cup of Rene Junot French white table wine, and I mixed this all together, and I continue to cook covered with the glass lid on medium high stirring occasionally for ten minutes.  When the ten minutes were up, the rice was ready to stand for five minutes. I then added to the mixture, the diced sun dried tomatoes, the two four ounce cans of drained Sunny Deli portabella mushroom, and a half pound package of rinsed snow peas along with another quarter of a cup of white wine. I continued to steam this mixture over medium high heat covered for five minutes stirring occasionally. I then put about half the rice on a plate, and I put the rest of the rice in a container in the refrigerator. I then put about a cup and half of the seasoned vegetable beef mixture on top of the rice, and I put the rest in a container in the refrigerator. I had it for dinner with ice tea and a cappuccino. I then watched the BBC evening news. I will now do some regular computer work. CIO

Note: <888> 05/28/02 Tuesday 4:45 P.M.: I was up at 10 A.M. this morning. I watched the morning news. I had breakfast of three medium boiled eggs, oatmeal bread toast, orange juice, coffee, vitamins, and supplements. I fell back to sleep until 2 P.M.. I got up, and I went out, and I checked my car. I noticed that the rattle the car is making might have been that it was idling two slowly. I increased the idle on the car, and I adjust the airflow intake.  The car runs more smoothly with the increased idle, and it does not seem to rattle. Still, when I have the time, I should go over to Stamford Volvo, and see if they have the bolt for attaching the exhaust manifold pipe to the under body of the car. Still, I am not sure if the threaded opening is there or not, and possibly when they installed the exhaust manifold pipe last August, they just cut if off with a torch. Well at the moment the car seems to be running smoothly. I came back inside, and I picked up my AT&T bill out of the mail box. They now seem to be charging a minimum of $7.50 instead of $5.00 plus tax, still I tend to talk that much.  I had another roast beef sandwich on a Kaiser roll with Hellmann’s mayonnaise, horse radish, Vidalia onion, salt and pepper. I had it with Lays potato chips and sliced dill pickles with ice tea and a Brazilian instant coffee. I just clipped my toe nails and my finger nails, since they were getting a bit long.  The NOAA weather radio just went off saying there might be heavy showers this evening. I will now clean up and go out. CIO

Note: <888> 05/28/02 Tuesday 12:10 A.M.: Well, I finished for the day. I will now shut down and relax before going to bed. CIO

Note: <888> 05/27/02 Monday 11:50 P.M.: Preview Paul McCartney’s “Driving Rain” http://store.artistdirect.com/store/artist/album/0,,1571086,00.html . CIO

Note: <888> 05/27/02 Monday 10:10 P.M.:  Scott’s Random notes is now working at the GeoCities web site. I updated http://www.geocities.com/mikelscott/nasa.htm and http://www.geocities.com/mikelscott/nasa-111.htm . CIO

Note: <888> 05/27/02 Monday 9:10 P.M.: I went downtown. I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue. I sat out at various locations. I then drove down by the waterfront. I then went to another location along the waterfront, and I sat out in my beach chair for about a half hour. The mosquitoes are beginning to come out again. I then returned home.  I got out my package of three Coleman electronic mosquito repellers made in China, and I put a battery in the gray one. I attached it to my key chain. I now have it ready to turn on the next time I go down by the waterfront. I then watched a television program on the History Channel about the World Trade Center done the January before 911. A friend called and we chatted. I will now do a bit of regular computer work. I noticed last night the large files at the GeoCities web site do not come up. Hopefully, they will have it fixed after the holiday weekend. CIO

Note: <888> 05/27/02 Monday 5:45 P.M.: I heard the honor guard salute outside this morning about 7 A.M.. I was up about noon.  The nicotine patch came off during the night, so I put another one on, since I could not fine it in the bedding right away. I had breakfast of oatmeal, oatmeal bread toast, orange juice, coffee, vitamins, and supplements. I went out, and I washed the car with the hose I have in the trunk and a bucket of water with dishwashing detergent in it.  I cleaned the white walls with an S.O.S. pad. I dried the car. I then waxed the 1976 Volvo 244 DL with Nu Finish once a year car polish. I cleaned the windows inside and out with Windex. I cleaned the inside vinyl with Turtle Wax Extreme 2001 Protectant. I wiped the door openings with a damp cloth. I was able to get the passenger side rear door to open and close properly. I put all five beach chairs on that side of the car. I vacuumed the interior of the car.  Thus the car looks a lot better with its annual spring cleaning done. This took about four hours. I was able to vacuum using three extension cords out the front of the building. I had three diet Cokes while doing all of this. I came inside, and I had a roast beef sandwich on a Kaiser roll with Hellmann’s mayonnaise, horse radish, slices of Vidalia onion, and salt and pepper, along with a dill pickle slice and potato chips, ice tea, and a Brazilian instant coffee. I cleaned up, and I took off the nicotine patch while showering. I watched some of the Memorial Day events on television. I will now go out for some fresh air. CIO

Note: <888> 05/27/02 Monday 12:35 A.M.: I finished watching the DVD video. I watched a bit of television. I will now go to bed.  CIO

Note: <888> 05/26/02 Sunday 9:15 P.M.: I watched a bit of television. I took the new lamp shades from the bedroom night stand lamps, and I put them on the pineapple lamps on the brass coffee table on top of the bedroom desk. I took the shades from the pineapple lamps, and I put them on the bedroom night stand lamps. They are thus fit better relative to the size of the lamps. I tested Scott’s Random Notes on the backup computer, and they do not come up from the GeoCities web site on the backup computer either. Thus there must be something wrong with the GeoCities web site, or Optimum has blocked my notes. Well, I will now watch a DVD video disk. CIO

Note: <888> 05/26/02 Sunday 7:35 P.M.: After dinner, I closed the window and finished airing out the apartment. CIO

Note: <888> 05/26/02 Sunday 6:40 P.M.: I opened all my closets to air out with the window opened before I went out. I went out, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue. I stopped by CVS, and I bought two half price Sure Advantage regular deodorants for $2 each, and Gillette shaving gel sensitive skin for $1.99 plus .36 tax for $6.35 total. I then went by the Greenwich Hardware store, and I bought Nu Finish Once a Year Car Polish for $6.99 plus .42 tax for $6.41 total.  They told me they were going to raise it to $9.99. I also stopped by Pier One and looked at all the scented candles. I then drove down by the waterfront. I then went by the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street. I then went by Radio Shack in Cos Cob, and I bought a one foot 75 Ohm video cable with gold plated connectors $2.99 plus .18 tax for $3.17. I then went to the Cos Cob Farmer Market next door, and I bought asparagus at $1.99 a pound and a package of snow peas for $3.28 total. I then went to the Stop and Shop, and I bought two Vidalia onions at .79 a pound for $1.12, a package of Bernadinos’ six water Kaiser rolls $1.99, S&S rare roast beef at $5.99 a pound for $7.07, two Marie Calendar meals at $1.99 each, one beef tips and one meat loaf for $14.16 total. I then returned home.  The apartment smelled a lot fresher with the window open and the fan blowing in fresh air. I sprayed Bissell Air Freshener deodorizer in the closets and around the room. I took off the face plate off the wall cable plate and tightened the cable connector. I put on the new one foot cable I bought at Radio Shack connecting to the four splitter. Now Channel 2 seems to come in clear. I will now take a Kaiser roll and split it, and put mayonnaise on both sides. I will then put slices of rare roast beef on it, and I will put horse radish on the roast beef, and then I will put a few slices of Vidalia onion on it, and I will season it with salt and pepper, and I will have the roast beef sandwich with a dill pickle slice and potato chips along with ice tea and a cappuccino. CIO

Note: <888> 05/26/02 Sunday 2:45 P.M.: I rested until 2 P.M.. I chatted with a relative. I took off the old shades of the bedroom lamps, and I put the new shades on. I will throw out the old shades. I opened the left living room window. I disconnected the air conditioner, and I plugged in the fan and turned it on medium. I am now airing out the apartment. I will take a shower and put on the nicotine patch. Then I will go out for some fresh air. CIO

Note: <888> 05/26/02 Sunday 12:30 P.M.: I was up at 11 A.M. this morning. I had breakfast of three medium boiled eggs, oatmeal bread toast, orange juice, coffee, vitamins, and supplements. I watched some of the morning news.  Last night when I was out for a walk, I bought from Zyn stationary a #29 Cold Cash Doubler scratch card for $1, but I did not win anything. I will start using the nicotine patch today. CIO

Note: <888> 05/26/02 Sunday 12:25 A.M.: I went out, and I stopped by the Exxon station next to the Greenwich Library. I bought $10.50 of premium gasoline at $1.779  a gallon. I then dropped off a DVD video disk at the video drop at the Greenwich Library. I then went downtown. I first walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue, and I then walked lower Greenwich Avenue again. I sat out at various locations. I noticed that the mobile art exhibit at the senior and arts center has flood lights shining on it. However, the flood lights also shine out into Greenwich Avenue which interferes with the night time vision of divers in that location.  When I returned home, I called the Public Safety department, and I gave them my viewpoint. I also noticed that the mobiles have wires attaching them to the ground to keep them from swinging which people in that location can not see at night.  When I was first out, I saw the full moon rising and at the same time I saw a shooting star.  The wind was out of the southwest, so it was a dry night and easy on my arthritis. I drove down by the waterfront afterwards. I next went to the Stop and Shop, and I bought a bottle of Lysol Island Breeze cleaner for $2.99, a Tombstone Pepperoni pizza for $2.99, a dozen large eggs $1.69, three S&S premium margarine $2 all, a bulb of garlic .35, buy one get one free of B&G Kosher dill spears $2.69 both, for $12.89 total. I then returned home about 11 P.M., and I relaxed a bit.  I will now watch some television before going to bed. I will probably try to quit smoking when I wake up today using the nicotine patches. CIO

Note: <888> 05/25/02 Saturday 8:05 P.M.: I watched the ABC evening news. I had a broiled shell steak with Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce, steamed broccoli and corn on the cob, ice tea, and a cappuccino. I will now go out for some fresh air. CIO

Note: <888> 05/25/02 Saturday 6:20 P.M.: I finished house cleaning and watering the plants. I cleaned up. I finished listening to the Oldies count down. CIO

Note: <888> 05/25/02 Saturday 2:50 P.M.:  I am listening to www.warx.com for some vintage Oldies music.  I am playing the internet music through my amplifier stereo system. It is now for time for house cleaning. CIO

Note: <888> 05/25/02 Saturday 2:00 P.M.:  Last night I watched BBC programming on PBS channel 21 before going to bed at 11 P.M.. I was up at 8 A.M.. I had breakfast of oatmeal, orange juice, toast, coffee, vitamins, and supplements. I picked up a loaf of bread from the bread table. I have been taking Benedryl recently for allergies which make me sleepy when I wake up. I fell back asleep until 1:30 P.M.. I think the allergy season now might be less severe, so I will quit taking Benedryl. I had a telephone call from a relative.  I checked the mail.  I will now have a Boston Market beef pot roast dinner with ice tea and a Brazilian instant coffee. I will then start my house cleaning. CIO

End of Scott's Notes week 05/24/02:

Note: <888> 05/24/02 Friday 8:20 P.M.: It appears that the GeoCities upload is not working at the moment, so I can not update my “Scott’s Random Notes” . I did notice in the Greenwich Times today that water restrictions have been lifted locally. Thus I can hose and bucket wash and wax my car some time in the future when I have time, and when I get around to buying some car wax. I will now send out my weekly notes. I will then watch a DVD video disk.  I will try to go to bed around midnight. I will do house cleaning in the morning. I have a friend coming to visit at 1:30 P.M. tomorrow. CIO

Note: <888> 05/24/02 Friday 7:30 P.M.: The note still does not work without the HTML format. It is like

GeoCities has it blocked. The other pages at the site seem to work. CIO

Note: <888> 05/24/02 Friday 7:25 P.M.: For some odd reason, my web page of "Scott's Random Notes" will not display from the GeoCities web site. I am trying to post using the text editor instead of Microsoft Word 2002 with all the HTML content. I chatted with a friend. CIO

Note: <888> 05/24/02 Friday 6:10 P.M.: I was up at 8 A.M. this morning. I watched the morning news and relaxed. About 10 A.M., I had breakfast of three medium boiled eggs, oatmeal toast, orange juice, coffee, and vitamins. I then cleaned up, and I went out. I decided not to try the nicotine patches today, since it would be a busier day. I drove over to “Smokes for Less” in Byram, and I bought three patches of Seneca Ultra Lights 100s for $8.25 for three packages. I then on the way to town gave a neighbor a ride from the bus stop on the Post Road to town. I then went by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street. I then stopped by Midas, but they only had two people on today, so they could not check out the rattle on my Volvo. I then went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop and lamps were $2 and lamp shades were .50. I bought a pair of lampshades with a small blue stripe for .50 each $1 total. I then drove down by the waterfront and I chatted with some waterfront locals. I then drove to another part of the waterfront, and I chatted with a local while I searched my car for about a half hour looking for a DVD video disk that I thought I had brought with me, but later turned out to back at home. I chatted with some other locals. I could not get the passenger side rear door to open from the outside, so I moved the child lock latch on the door jam, and now it will not open from the outside or the inside, which I suppose is just as well since it occasionally would come open when closed. I then drove back to the other part of the waterfront. I then went by the ELDC thrift shop. I then went by the Greenwich Library, and I checked out two DVD video disks. I then returned home. I had a frosted diet Coke in a frosted mug. Then for a meal, I had two hotdogs with buns and ketchup and mustard and potato chips and two small dill pickles and ice tea and a cappuccino. I put the new lamp shades on top of the existing lamp shades on the bedroom nightstand tables on either side of the bed. CIO

Note: <888> 05/24/02 Friday 1:40 A.M.: I watched the DVD video. The TEAC DVD system is working just fine. I will now head off to bed. CIO

Note: <888> 05/23/02 Thursday 10:20 P.M.: I read the smoking patch information. I started to watch the TEAC DVD system, and once again it would not start properly. I disconnected it and reconnected it a number of times. I finally figured out the weight of the JVC videotape machine on top of it was causing it to malfunction. I moved the JVC videotape machine to the bookcase stereo rack, and the TEAC DVD video disk machine now starts properly. I will now watch a DVD video. CIO

Note: <888> 05/23/02 Thursday 8:55 P.M.: I was up at 6 A.M. this morning. I watched some morning news. I had breakfast of oatmeal, oatmeal toast, orange juice, coffee, vitamins, and supplements. I then fell back to sleep until 11 A.M.. I checked the mail. I had lunch of a Stouffer’s hearty turkey dinner with ice tea and Brazilian instant coffee. I then went out, and I returned a book to the Greenwich Library. I read the local paper and a Time Magazine special issue about “911”. I then made my 3 P.M. appointment.  I read another Time Magazine while waiting. I then stopped by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street. I then went to the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop. I next went downtown. I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out at various locations. I stopped by the Greenwich Hardware store, and I viewed their 70% off shelf in the front of the store. I went by CVS, and I bought a box of the CVS Nicotine Transdermal System of 14 patches Step One 21 mg. stop smoking aid with behavior support program for $38.99.  The wind was out of the southwest today, so it was dry which is good for arthritis.  After my walk, I drove by the waterfront. I have noticed in the last couple of days that my 1976 Volvo 244 DL has a slight exhaust rattling. I looked underneath the car, and the system is secure, but there is a bolt missing from the exhaust manifold pipe that is suppose to connect it to the under body of car.  I will have it checked soon. It does not appear to be anything major, and hopefully this will stop the slight rattling.  After the waterfront, I went by Stop and Shop, and I bought buy one get one free of large bags of Lays Barbeque potato chips for $2.99 both. I then went by the Food Emporium, and I bought two shell steaks at $3.99 a pound for $5.91 and buy one get one free of Edy’s sorbet pints, one raspberry and the other mandarin orange. I then returned home. I had a chilled diet Coke in a frosted mug. I relaxed a bit. I then had a broiled shell steak with Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce, steamed corn on the cob, steamed broccoli florets, ice tea, and a cappuccino. I will try the stop smoking patches starting tomorrow morning after I shower.  I think I will watch a DVD movie now. On my TEAC DVD video disk system, sometimes one has to unplug the machine to let the programming reset itself whenever it gets messed up.  CIO

Note: <888> 05/22/02 Wednesday 11:00 P.M.: I relaxed a bit. I had two hot dogs with buns and ketchup and mustard and three small dill pickles and ice tea. CIO

Note: <888> 05/22/02 Wednesday 9:35 P.M.: I finished the laundry. I hung the new shirts in my bedroom closet. I put the larger shorts in the top white bureau drawer with the other larger shorts. I put the Harry Potter mouse pad on the right side of the primary computer. CIO

Note: <888> 05/22/02 Wednesday 8:45 P.M.: I went out, and I made my 1 P.M. appointment at the Greenwich Hospital Dental outpatient clinic to have my teeth cleaned. I noticed they were serving barbeque hamburgers outside. I then went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop. I bought for $4 an extra large white Greenwich Ducks Unlimited 50th anniversary shirt for $4. I then went by the Mews Thrift Shop. For $10 I got 10 extra large polo  and crews and leisure shirts of various colors about half from the GAP including an Izod, an extra large blue boxer Speedo swim suit, a Ralph Lauren polo sweat shirt, and a pair of waist 40 inches denim shorts. I thanked them for the bargains. I then drove down by the waterfront. I then drove over to the Old Greenwich Rummage Room Thrift shop, and I bought a waist 40 inch pair of long white Bermuda style shorts for $4. While looking at their pants, I found $8 cash in a pair of pants pockets that I gave to the staff. I then drove around Tod’s Point, and I sat out at the southeast beach area for about 45 minutes.  I found a quarter. I then went by Staples in Old Greenwich. They have 80 gigabyte Maxtor 5400 rpm hard drives for $120 plus a $40 mailin rebate for $80 which is very reasonable. They also have a 2.4 gigahertz AT&T cordless phone for $50 with a $10 AT&T phone card. I bought a Harry Potter mouse pad from the clearance table for $1.50 plus .09 tax for $1.59. I then went back downtown, and I drove around the waterfront. I then stopped by the Greenwich Library, and I returned a DVD video disk, and I read the local paper. I then returned home. I am on the dry cycle of washing the clothes that I bought that needed washing. I made room in my bedroom closet for the new clothes by moving about 10 smaller polo shirt to the closet shelf to the right on the paper products making room for the new larger clothing items to hang along side the other clothes. CIO

Note: <888> 05/22/02 Wednesday 11:55 A.M.: I rested until 11 A.M.. I checked the mail. I had a Marie Callender meat loaf dinner with ice tea and a Brazilian instant coffee. I will now clean up. I have a 1 P.M. appointment. CIO

Note: <888> 05/22/02 Wednesday 6:15 A.M.: I watched a DVD video disk until 11 P.M. last night. I then went to bed. I was up at 4:30 A.M. this morning. I had breakfast of three medium boiled eggs, oatmeal bread toast, orange juice, coffee, vitamins and supplements. I watched a bit of television, and I checked my email.  CIO

Note: <888> 05/21/02 Tuesday 8:00 P.M.: I relaxed a bit. A friend called me up. I just had dinner of a Stouffer’s hearty pot roast dinner and ice tea. I will relax a bit more before going to bed later on. I will now shut down the computer. CIO

Note: <888> 05/21/02 Tuesday 4:00 P.M.: Well, I chatted with a relative and another individual. I did some computer work. It seems a bit damp out, so I will stay inside today. CIO

Note: <888> 05/21/02 Tuesday 1:50 P.M.: I was up at 5 A.M., and I watched a bit of the morning news. I had breakfast of oatmeal, oatmeal bread toast, orange juice, coffee, vitamins and supplements. I then chatted with a friend. I have been thinking about this Marine coral calcium from Japan that I am taking. Perhaps if the Florida Keys is made out of the same substance they could grind up the Florida Keys and sell it for 50 cents a pill.  Apparently this substance was very popular with the first pharmaceutical shops in Barcelona, Spain 300 years ago, and perhaps this is what leads to the legends of Ponce de Leon and the Fountain of Youth. I have a feeling it also might be the ingredients in Gator Aid, a well known sports drink from Florida. Whatever the case, it might explain why in theory some of the old alligators and crocodiles live to be 200 years old in Florida hanging around the coral deposits along the shores of Florida. Moreover from what I know and from what I saw on Dr. Robert Barefoot’s infomercial, there might be some truth to the validity it helps the body rejuvenate itself, and it is good for warding off diseases like Parkinson’s syndrome, cancer, and tired blood. Still, it is too early to tell whether it is doing any good for me or not. However, for all I know the Coral Calcium from Japan might be different from other coral deposits around the world. It is suppose to have a lot of electrolytes and enzymes that are suppose to be good for the body. Still locally it is cold and damp which is not good for my arthritis. Also despite taking the benedryl my allergies seem to be activated in this most severe allergy season. Well, when I got up at noon, I checked the mail. I then had a Marie Callender’s breaded fish fillet with macaroni and cheese meal along with ice tea and a Brazilian instant coffee. The Greenwich Times on Sunday said there are 1750 people from South America living in Greenwich, Connecticut and a lot more in the neighboring towns of Port Chester, New York; Danbury, Connecticut; and Stamford, Connecticut. Alas I do not speak Spanish or Portuguese, so I do not network with that community. Well, I guess I will clean up and go out for some routine activity. CIO

Note: <888> 05/20/02 Monday 11:10 P.M.: I finished watching the television movie. I had some ice tea.  Well, there is not much going on, since it is cooler out, and the people with the so called money to spend in this area prefer warm weather, so until it gets warmer, the general local economy will remain in recession.  Of course maybe some Canadian found a gold mine, and maybe that so called Canadian will spend some money in this area, while it is still cooler. Of course for all I know the moon is made of Swiss cheese. Thus for all I know with the threats of terrorism in this area, the people whom normally spend money in this area have fled the area to spend their ill begotton gains in other deluxe areas that are less threatened. Well, the real story is not much ever happens here, so people whom like to read books enjoy reading books here while nothing is happening. Cheerio.  Also on Dr. Robert Barefoot’s infomercial about Coral Calcium, they said they are also giving it to horses, which might explain why certain horses are winning unexpectedly. CIO

Note: <888> 05/20/02 Monday 7:50 P.M.: I had a couple of hotdogs with buns and ketchup and mustard and potato chips and ice tea. I will watch a television movie at 8 P.M.. CIO

Note: <888> 05/20/02 Monday 7:30 P.M.: I rested from 3 P.M. until 6 P.M.. A friend called, and we chatted. I watched the ABC evening news. CIO

Note: <888> 05/20/02 Monday 1:45 P.M.: Today I decided to have my primary meal of the day at noon.   I had a medium rare broiled shell steak with Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce, steamed white rice with La Choy low sodium soy sauce, steamed fresh corn on the cob, steamed fresh broccoli florets, ice tea, and a cappuccino. I then relaxed and listen to some of the chit chat from BBC radio 5 http://www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/ . They mentioned that Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Phillip, and Prince Charles visited the Chelsea Flower Show and were describing the garden of holistic medicine plants that Prince Charles had patronized.  Well, I guess this time of year the foliage would be coming out in England, and they probably would have an allergy season problem. On a lesser note, I tend to have busy weekends, so I frequently relax the Friday before weekends and the Monday after. CIO

Note: <888> 05/20/02 Monday 11:10 A.M.: I rested until 10:30 A.M.. I checked the mail. I will now listen to http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/ram/live_news.ram and there are other BBC listening links at http://www.bbc.co.uk/ . I believe the British humorously call the BBC “Aunt B”. Alas I have never been to the United Kingdom. Like parking on Greenwich Avenue, it is too expensive to go there. CIO

Note: <888> 05/20/02 Monday 5:35 A.M.: I went to bed at 4 P.M. yesterday. I had two calls from relatives. I was up at 4 A.M. this morning. I watched a bit of morning television. I had breakfast of three medium boiled eggs, oatmeal bread toast, orange juice, coffee, and vitamins and supplements. I will now do some regular computer work.  CIO

Note: <888> 05/19/02 Sunday 2:55 P.M.: I went back downtown at noon. I drove down by the waterfront. I then sat out for a while. I then walked with a local, and I walked up to the Greenwich Library.  We then walked along the Boston Post Road as far as Christ Church. We then returned to Greenwich Avenue, and we parted company.  I then walked back down the Avenue, and I sat out for a while. I then drove down by the waterfront. The Greenwich Crafts festival is going on at the Bruce Museum. I then returned home. I will now have some goldfish crackers and ice tea. I then will go to bed.  I will now before going to bed take a Tylenol, MSM, and a Coral Calcium pill along with another pill I take to relax. CIO

Note: <888> 05/19/02 Sunday 11:45 A.M.: I went over to the Port Chester, New York shopping center at 9:45 A.M.. The VitaminShoppe does not open until 11 A.M. on Sunday. I waited and toured Odd Job. I bought a “As Seen of TV” 301 piece Titanium coated drill bit set for $4.99, two Polaroid 9 volt batteries for $1.49 apiece, and two packages of 10 Ultra Plus twin blade disposable razors for .99 a package, a large tube of Crest tartar control toothpaste gel $1.59 plus .79 tax for $12.43 total. I then toured Staples. When the VitaminShoppe opened, I bought the last two bottles of 60 capsules each bottle of Natures Benefit, Inc. Professional Products Marine Coral Minerals which contain 100% pure ocean bed coral calcium from Okinawa, Japan. One is suppose to take two capsules a day with purified water, and two capsules contain 1000 mg. of Coral Calcium, 240 mg. calcium, 120 mg. of magnesium, and they also contain a lot of marine trace minerals. I paid $23.96 per bottle plus I had a $10 discount card for the VitaminShoppe for $37.92 total. I then returned home. I took one of Marine Coral Mineral coral calcium pills with a half of glass of orange juice. I will now go out for some more fresh air.   I put the drill set in the sweater closet with the other tools. CIO

Note: <888> 05/19/02 Sunday 9:10 A.M.: I went out, and I stopped by the waterfront. There were the usual fishermen fishing. I then drove downtown. I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out at various locations. I then drove by the ATM machine at Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street. I then went to the Food Emporium. I bought two shell steaks at $3.99 a pound for $6.06, four ears of corn for .67 total, and a dozen extra large eggs for $1.79 for $8.52 total. I then returned home, and I had some ice tea and watched a bit of television. I will now have a Swanson’s chicken teriyaki dinner with ice tea. CIO

Note: <888> 05/19/02 Sunday 5:00 A.M.: I watched Robert Barefoot’s program on Coral Calcium. It looks interesting. It is available at the VitaminShoppe VitaminShoppe.com - Product Details for Marine Coral Minerals by Natures Benefit . I might go over there at the Port Chester shopping center later this morning. I had a Tony’s pepperoni pizza with ice tea and a cappuccino. I make the Tony’s www.tonys.com frozen pizza, by cutting the frozen pizza into quarters and putting it on a cookie sheet. I then season it with celery salt, garlic powder, ground black pepper, Italian spices, oregano, and basil and sprinkle a few tablespoons of olive oil on it.  I then cook it in the convection oven at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 13 minutes. I will now clean up, and I guess I will go out for a chilly morning walk.  I will keep a keen eye out for Mountain Lions and Cougars and whatever cats might be prowling around in the early morning hours. CIO

Note: <888> 05/19/02 Sunday 3:30 A.M.: I watched a program about the Concorde which is older than my Volvo. Apparently they fly it down to Barbados a lot. I am now watching a program about Firenze, Italia. They showed Bertolloci’s dome that I once climbed which was quite a hike considering when I got to the top at it noon on Saturday, it was just closing, and we had to walk down which was much harder without really having time to enjoy the view. Now the program is lecturing on Cosmo Di Medici and his family’s art works. The GeoCities web site is back up and running. CIO

Note: <888> 05/19/02 Sunday 1:50 A.M.: I went back to bed until 1 A.M.. I am watching a program on Egyptology on the Travel channel. I finished making a batch of ice tea. CIO

I picked up a loaf of oatmeal bread from the bread table downstairs. I went out, and I stopped by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop. I then went by the Greenwich Hardware store. I bought four Satco flame tip 15 watt frosted bulbs for $2.49 each plus .60 tax for $10.56 total. I then drove down by the waterfront. I then stopped by the Greenwich Library, and I read the local paper, and I checked out a DVD video disk. I then went by Exxon, and I bought $12 of premium at $1.819 a gallon. I then went by the Stop and Shop. They now carry General Electric flame tip 15 watt frosted bulbs in a two pack for $2.79 both. I then returned home. I put the Satco flame tip bulbs in the sconces above the dining room table, and I put the GE bulbs with the other bulbs in the bedroom bureau. I vacuumed the apartment, and I finished my house cleaning. I finished the C: drive to E: drive backup at noon. I will now relax a bit and have some goldfish crackers and ice tea before going to bed.  CIO

Note: <888> 05/18/02 Saturday 5:45 A.M.: I sifted through my email. I am listening to www.wqxr.com for some relaxing classical music on my new computer headphones. CIO

Note: <888> 05/18/02 Saturday 4:50 A.M.: I am finished with the house cleaning except for vacuuming which I will do later when I will not disturb my neighbors. I enjoyed listening to the Beatles music with the wireless headphones while house cleaning. I can replace the rechargeable batteries in the wireless headphones after recharging them in my Radio Shack battery charger. CIO

Note: <888> 05/18/02 Saturday 3:35 A.M.: The www.geocities.com site where I have my site at www.geocities.com/mikelscott/ is down for maintenance until Sunday, so it will not be running. I listened to the music clips at http://www.paulmccartney.com/ . I can buy his new CD for less than $20 or $14 at www.amazon.com . I will now do my weekly house cleaning while listening to some vintage Beatles Music on MP3 on my TEAC DVD player with my Emerson Wireless headset, so I do not disturb the neighbors. I hope I do not drop the headphones in the toilet while I am cleaning the bathroom. CIO

Note: <888> 05/18/02 Saturday 2:10 A.M.: After I finished putting the laundry away, I cleaned up. I went out about 11:30 P.M., and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue in the rain with an umbrella. I sat out at various locations.  There were the usual number of pub crawlers at the Bleu Café http://www.bleu-cafe.com/ , the Dome restaurant, the Sundown saloon, and the Thataway café. They were playing a bit of music. I then drove down by the waterfront.  On weekends the Food Emporium is not open at night, but the Glory Days diner is now open 24 hours for late night dining. I returned home, and I had two hotdogs with buns and ketchup and mustard, potato chips, two small dill pickles, a frosted diet Coke in a frosted mug, and a cappuccino. I then watched a bit of television. CIO

I have about $13 of YAP time on the cards I have. I set up Net2Phone 10 and its speed dial. The later version does not seem to work with the YAP cards. Well, I will shut down for the night. I will relax a bit and maybe watch some television before going to bed. CIO

Note: <888> 05/16/02 Thursday 11:45 P.M.: I had some goldfish crackers and ice tea before going to bed this morning about 7 A.M.. I was up at 1 P.M..  For breakfast I had three medium boiled eggs, toast, orange juice, coffee, and vitamins. I made my 3 P.M. appointment. I returned home, and a friend had arrived to visit.  We went down by the waterfront and sat out by the waterfront for a while. We then drove around the waterfront. We then stopped by the Greenwich Hardware store. I was looking for 15 watt frosted candelabra bulbs, but they were out of them.  We then stopped by Smokes for Less in Byram for my friend to get some smokes. We then drove over to the Port Chester, New York shopping center. We toured Odd Job and Lenins and Things. I checked out Staples, and I met up with my friend at Vitamin Shoppe where he made a purchase. On returning home, I noticed my exhaust system was making a rattling sound. I checked it out later after dinner, and it was slightly touching the body, so it rattled. I turned it down a bit, and it is fine. I hit a stick on the way to Port Chester which might have knocked it up a bit. We watched the BBC evening news. I made the same dinner for us as last night. I also had a cappuccino. My friend left about 9 P.M.. I went out and fixed the rattling exhaust tail pipe. I dropped off a DVD video disk at the library video drop. I then went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out at various locations. I then drove down by the waterfront. I just now returned home, and I had some ice tea. CIO

I relaxed a bit. I had the same dinner as last night without the cappuccino. CIO

Note: <888> 05/15/02 Wednesday 5:00 A.M.: I watched a DVD video disk. I watched a bit of television. I will now have some Carr’s crackers with mozzarella cheese and ice tea.  I then will relax a bit before going to bed. CIO

Note: <888> 05/15/02 Wednesday 1:45 A.M.:  I finished going through www.geocities.com/mikelscott/scotwork.htm . I sifted through my email. Yesterday, I ran Norton Anti Virus and my system is clean. However, every day since April 11, 2002; somebody sends me an email virus worm to my address from different email addresses. Since my system is clean, it appears that somebody with my email address has an email worm or an individual is deliberately trying to send me an email worm spoofing various email addresses. It is a minor annoyance, but Norton AntiVirus 2002 catches it every time. CIO

Note: <888> 05/15/02 Wednesday 12:25 A.M.: For any fisherpersons or nautical people this site might be handy listing Tide times http://www2.primushost.com/~mcmorran/tide/tideform.html . CIO

I then returned home. I had some ice tea. I then mixed the new hazelnut coffee beans with the existing batch of Food Emporium red and blue bag coffee beans. I now have six mason jars of coffee beans which I keep underneath my dining room table. I opened up the Indiana Kitchen pork tenderloin package, and it had two one pound whole pork tenderloins in it. I cut off about two thirds of one, or about two thirds of a pound. I took a Pyrex pie dish, and I added a couple of tablespoons of olive oil, and a couple of tablespoons of La Choy low sodium soy sauce, and a tablespoon of Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce, and I rolled the pork tenderloin in it. I seasoned it on both sides with ground black pepper, celery salt, garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning, Italian spices, and Oregano. I added two quartered onions. I cooked it in the convection oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 minutes. I had it with steamed white rice with La Choy low sodium soy sauce, and steamed slices of fresh zucchini, sliced fresh asparagus, and fresh broccoli florets, along with ice tea, and a cappuccino. I then took off the cable they were connected to the primary computer, and I put it in the lower right desk drawer. I connected the new Panasonic stereo headphones to the primary computer. I will save the second gold Y-adaptor for future use, and I put it in the left top desk drawer. CIO

Note: <888> 05/13/02 Monday 10:05 A.M.: I had a cappuccino. I checked the mail, and it is not here yet. I guess I will clean up and go out for some daytime activity. CIO

Note: <888> 05/13/02 Monday 8:55 A.M.: The groin hernia was probably aggravated over the years when I did things like build the garage apartment in Plandome Manor, Long Island in 1982 and when I worked in the Lanqueduc restaurant in Nantucket and other restaurants from 1978 to 1983 lifting many heavy items like hundred pound bags of onions and garbage on a regular basis along with other construction work not to mention all the times I have moved furniture items. Thus since I am getting older and I have put on weight my abdomen wall is probably weaker allowing part of my intestinal region to slip down into the groin area. CIO

Note: <888> 05/13/02 Monday 8:45 A.M.: I have actually had the groin hernia since about February 1979 when there was an ice storm in New Canaan, Connecticut. I showed up at the apartment there, and a pipe had frozen in the basement, and I moved a trunk of mine with about 200 pounds of books to keep them from getting wet before fixing the frozen pipe. However, recently since I put on the weight the groin hernia seems to have gotten worse.  When I lie down, it goes away, but when I stand up it falls back down into the groin area. CIO

Note: <888> 05/13/02 Monday 8:25 A.M.: I researched “groin hernia” at www.google.com , and I came up with http://www.medbroadcast.com/health_topics/health_conditions/hernia/index.shtml . I have a bad groin hernia. I have not lifted that much heavy stuff recently besides the 85 pound HP laser printer and the Orion 25 inch television which weighed about 85 pound too. I use to move my furniture more frequently, but I have not done so in six month.  From reading the hernia site information, it says a groin hernia can be caused by being overweight. I am presently 217 pounds which I would say is 30 to 50 pound overweight for my six foot height and small bone frame. I have thought about having the hernia operated on, but I thought it might first be better to lose some weight which I have not succeeded in doing since I have not been walking as much recently in the colder weather damp weather. Well, I guess it is hard to stop the aging process. I just had a Boston Market chicken teriyaki with rice dinner with ice tea. I guess I will relax a bit now. CIO

Note: <888> 05/13/02 Monday 7:15 A.M.: I was up at 7 P.M. last night. I had breakfast of oatmeal, toast, orange juice, coffee, and vitamins. I watched television and rested until about 6 A.M. this morning. I chatted with a friend and a relative. About midnight I had two hotdogs with buns and ketchup and mustard, potato chips, two small dill pickles, ice tea, and a Brazilian instant coffee. I threw out the garbage a little while ago. My Volvo runs fine, but for the last three to five years, I have had one or two ripped rubber boots on the front steering arms which I have been told I should have replaced. Maybe I will look into it this week.  I have a 4:30 P.M. appointment this afternoon. CIO

Note: <888> 05/12/02 Sunday 8:55 A.M.: I finished watching the DVD video. Some of the Greenwich Library DVD videos are defected and can cause playing problems when watching them. I watched a bit of other television, and I relaxed. I guess I will head off to bed now. CIO

Note: <888> 05/12/02 Sunday 3:45 A.M.: I had dinner of the last of the cold eye round with horseradish sauce and Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce, steamed white rice with La Choy low sodium soy sauce, steamed fresh asparagus, and ice tea. I will now watch a DVD video. CIO

Note: <888> 05/12/02 Sunday 2:45 A.M.: I sifted through my email. There is a group of people in Greenwich, Connecticut stuck with old cars whom can not afford to go anywhere. Their web site is http://www.greenwichconcours.com/ .

Note: <888> 05/12/02 Sunday 12:55 A.M.: I fell asleep yesterday morning about 8 A.M.. I had a bowl of potato chips and ice tea before going to bed. I did not wait to get bread from the bread table, since I figured I would start eating the multiple grain bread from the Arnold Bread outlet which would be healthier and less fattening. I was up at 4 P.M., and I had breakfast of three medium boiled egg, toast, orange juice, coffee, and vitamins. I started house cleaning, and I got a tired spell, so I fell back to sleep until 9 P.M.. I had a Stouffer’s Hearty pot roast meal along with ice tea and Brazilian instant coffee. I then watched a bit of television. I just finished house cleaning. I still have to vacuum during a time I will not disturb my neighbors. CIO

Note: <888> 05/11/02 Saturday 4:00 A.M.: I did some regular computer work. I went out at 2:30 A.M.. I drove down by the waterfront. I then drove over to the Riverside Shopping Plaza to CVS. I bought two full length marine blue vinyl and steel beach chairs for $9.99 each, and two CVS ground black pepper .99  each, Italian spices $1, Ground Cinnamon $1, and Garlic Powder $1 plus $1.20 tax for $26.16 total. I then drove back through downtown, and I returned home. I put the two full length beach chairs in the right passenger side rear seat area of the Volvo since I do not have room in the trunk.  The last one I had like them lasted about 12 years. They are made in China. I will now shut down for the night. I will try not to have a snack. I will go to bed once I am tired. CIO

Note: <888> 05/10/02 Friday 11:00 P.M.: When I installed the Bosch Platinum spark plugs in the Volvo, I used the factory preset gap on the plugs of about .032 mm. I went out, and I put in $5 of premium gasoline at $1.819 a gallon at Exxon along with the Chevron Techron fuel injection system cleaner. I lowered the air in my tires which had gone up in the warmer weather from 34 PSI to 30 PSI. I then went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out at various locations. I then drove down by the waterfront. I next went to the Greenwich Library, and I read the Greenwich Times and the Wall Street Journal. I then went to Stop and Shop, and I bought S&S hotdog rolls for $1.19, B&G kosher dill spears for $2.69, Lays large bag of potato chips $1.99, La Choy low sodium soy sauce $2.39, and a large bottle of Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce for $2.29 for $10.55 total. I then returned home, and I had a ice tea. I relaxed a bit. I then had dinner of three 1/3 inch to ½ inch thick slices of cold eye round beef with horseradish and Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce, steamed white rice with La Choy low sodium soy sauce, steamed fresh cut asparagus, ice tea, and a cappuccino. I will now do some regular computer work. CIO

End of Scott's Notes week 05/10/02:

Note: <888> 05/10/02 Friday 5:20 P.M.:  About 3 A.M. this past morning, I had a dozen Carr’s crackers with Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese and ice tea. I went to bed about 4 A.M., and I was up at 3 P.M.. I had breakfast of oatmeal, toast, orange juice, coffee, and vitamins. I then went out, and I tuned up my 1976 Volvo 244 DL. I put in the new Mann air filter, Bosch distributor cap rotor, Bosch distributor cap, and four Bosch platinum spark plugs. This all took about an hour. I saved the old parts. The car runs just fine. I also sprayed WD40 on the ignition system to prevent corrosion. I checked the oil. I will put the Chevron Techron fuel injection system cleaner in the gas tank when I go downtown, and I fill up at Exxon. I also put on some gray duct tape on the passenger side rear tail light to prevent moisture leakage where it is cracked. I will now send out my weekly note. I will then clean up and go out for some fresh air. CIO

Note: <888> 05/09/02 Thursday 11:10 P.M.: I enjoyed dinner. I relaxed a bit. I will now watch some television before going to bed. CIO

Note: <888> 05/09/02 Thursday 9:25 P.M.: I was up until about 6 A.M. this morning. I watched a bit of television. I had a dozen Carr’s crackers with Cabot’s Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese about 6 A.M. along with ice tea. I was up at 1 P.M., and I had breakfast of three medium boiled eggs, toasted roll, vitamins, orange juice, and coffee. I went by Putnam Trust Bank of New York on Mason Street. I then made my 3 P.M. appointment. I then went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop. I then drove down by the waterfront. I then drove over to Stamford Volvo, and they did not have the tune up parts for my car. I toured the showroom, and they did not have the new Sport Utility Vehicle on display, but they did have a blue convertible. I then went to International Car Parts a couple blocks west of Stamford Volvo. I bought Chevron Techron fuel injection system cleaner for $7.95, WD-40 $2.95, a pine scent air freshener for .83, 4 Bosch BSP 4216 Platinum spark plugs for $3.95 each, a Bosch 04038 rotor for $5.71, a Bosch 03010 Distributor Cap $8.05, a Mann BEC 042-1107 air filter $7.62 plus $2.93 tax for $51.89 total. I will tune up my 1976 244 DL Volvo tomorrow when it is cold if the weather is clear. I then drove over to Staples in Old Greenwich, and from the clearance table I bought a Net2Phone YAP headset for $9 plus .54 tax for $9.54 total. Staples is reorganizing their store putting the aisles north to south instead of east of west. It looks like a lot of work. I then drove downtown, and I walked upper Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out at a couple of locations. I stopped by CVS, and I bought two 12 packs of Benedryl for $3.77 each package and two white Djeep lighters for $1.89 plus .23 tax for $11.55 total.  I noticed I can get boxes of 14 nicotine patches for $40 which means they would cost about $80 a month and would be about $50 a month cheaper than smoking. I am considering trying them again.  I returned home. I put the Net2Phone YAP headset on the primary computer. It works fine. I hung it on the right side of the speaker to the right of the computer chair. I took the old Andrea Electronic microphone, and I put it on the backup computer. The Net2Phone YAP headset came with a $10 YAP card which I have not installed yet. I chatted with a relative and a friend. I will now have three 1/3 “ to ½ “ inch thick slices of cold eye round with horse radish  and Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce, steamed white rice with La Choy low sodium soy sauce, steamed fresh asparagus, and ice tea. CIO

Note: <888> 05/09/02 Thursday 12:35 A.M.: I finished my regular internet work. I will now put the ice tea in the refrigerator. I will then either read or watch television or both.  CIO

Note: <888> 05/08/02 Wednesday 11:40 P.M.: I was up at 4 P.M. today. I received telephone calls from a relative and a friend. I had breakfast of oatmeal, toasted roll halves, orange juice, coffee, and vitamins. I cleaned up, and I went out. I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue, and I sat out at various locations. I drove down by the waterfront, and the usual fishermen were there. They did not seem to be having very good luck fishing. Still it is fun to see them again. I noticed at the exit 3 entrance east bound a Red Cross disaster services semi truck heading east. I went by the Greenwich Library, and I read the local paper, and I checked out a book. I then went to the Stop and Shop, and I bought a large container of Old Fashioned Quaker oatmeal for $3.99 and buy one get one free of Kahn’s beef franks for $3.69 both for $7.68 total. I returned home. I had a frosted diet Coke in a frosted mug. My 52nd birthday is tomorrow May 9, and a relative sent me a package. It contained an Olympus SuperZoom 3000 35mm camera with instructions and a roll of Kodak ASA 200 24 exposure film and a Radio Shack traveler’s alarm clock.  The camera was used, and I had to put a piece of black electrical tape on the back where a small part was missing. I installed the film, and the batteries are in good condition. I read the instructions to figure out the features on it. I now can take some pictures in my spare time providing I can afford the processing. However, people tend to be very camera shy in Greenwich, so one has to be careful taking pictures.  Still it is a most excellent camera, and I will enjoy using it in the future. Last summer while up in Maine, my old Canon camera malfunctioned on the scenic shots. I had dinner of three ½ inch thick slices of cold eye round beef with horse radish and Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce, steamed white rice with La Choy low sodium soy sauce, steamed fresh asparagus, ice tea, and a cappuccino. I am also making up a batch of ice tea. I put two AA batteries in the Radio Shack alarm clock. I will now do some regular computer work. CIO

Note: <888> 05/08/02 Wednesday 3:10 A.M.: I went through www.geocities.com/mikelscott/scotwork.htm . I looked at my email. Then from midnight until now, I watched cooking shows on the Food TV network. Well, I guess I will head off to bed now. CIO

I had a Barq’s frosted root beer in a frosted mug. I seasoned the eye round on all sides with ground black pepper, celery salt, garlic powder, Italian spices, and Sweet Baby Ray’s barbeque sauce, and I cooked it in the convection oven at 350 degree Fahrenheit for 50 minutes. I had three ½ inch slices of the eye round for dinner with steamed fresh yellow squash slices and fresh sliced asparagus and steamed white rice with La Choy low sodium soy sauce, ice tea, and a Brazilian instant coffee. I chatted with two friends while I was cooking dinner. I will now do some regular computer work. CIO

I bound them in an Oxford Clip binder, and added it to the other bound copies of my notes which I keep in the left hallway bookcase. The notes are now 1712 pages long. I am able to print them out fast with the HP LaserJet II printer using Postscript fonts which with the printer font cartridges print quite rapidly. I chatted with a friend for a while also. CIO
