Note: <888> 04/30/08 Wednesday 11:55 P.M.. I stayed up until 1 P.M.. I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with olive oil, orange and grape and cranraspberry juice with vitamins and supplements and coffee with milk and splenda sweetener. I washed the breakfast dishes. I made my bed. I chatted with a relative. I had a spare Radio Shack two way phone line switch. I connected it up next to the other one on the printer stand at the right front of the Samsung multipurpose unit. I also had extra telephone line cables. Thus one two line switch on the left is A: for the Samsung unit and B: for the Brother unit, and the two line switch on the right is B: for Optimum Online and A: for Verizon. I have them labeled, and I held them side by side with a broccoli rubber band. I also used the two sided tape that came with the other switch to secure it to the printer stand, so they are available for use with the two different telephone lines and the two different fax machines. I have the Brother unit connected up to the telephones lines now. I printed out a list of my fax numbers from the Samsung unit, and I put it with the Brother manuals on the Brother machine. I still have to some more setup work on the Brother machine besides its basic defaults. I straightened up the dining table, so the smaller items on it are neater. I put the Oregon Scientific weather station in front of the Brother unit. I moved the little brass frame with the British and Canadian coins to in front of the Harry's Bar ashtray to the right of the Northgate Syntax monitor. I freed up two clamp binders, so I now have three spare ones, so I could print out my last four months of notes tonight. I put the Phillips cell phone pouch on the near back of the down sofa. I wear it in the summer with my cell phone, when I don't have enough pockets. The old Rio Player and its parts are in the box in the bedroom window on the far left. Of course I still have the new Sandisk MP3 player on the dining table. I threw out the garbage, and I chatted with a neighbor. I picked up my mail. CIO
Note: <888> 04/30/08 Wednesday 10:25 A.M.. I installed the Vista printer drivers on the Netgear FR114P Network for the FIC Server, the Northgate Syntax, and the Expox computers. For the XP partition on the Epox computer, one has to disabled the Computer Associates Firewall for it to print over the network. I labeled the changed printers on the printer port boxes on the lower right side of the primary Vista computer, and I left them set at the default Lexmark E238 laser printer. Thus I have additional laser printing capacity on my network. I still have to set up the Dell in the bedroom and the Toshiba laptop for the Brother unit. I had another computer magazine telephone call.

Note: <888> 04/30/08 Wednesday 6:50 A.M.. I printed out the Brother MFC-8840D manual and quick start guide which were about 280 pages all together. I bound them in two clamp binders. I will need to get some more clamp binders from Staples, before I print out my every four month copy of my notes. According to the Brother MFC-8840D printer report, the printer has so far printed out 17844 pages, and it must have had its drum replaced recently, since it has 98% drum life left. Thus it is worth replacing the toner. I found these two cartridges at a lower price than regular that might be better than the bottom line generic cartridge Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more! Brother TN-570 toner cartridge . I think I still have a bit more printing on my primary Minolta PagePro 1250W, because as I recall, I put in a 6,000 sheet generic cartridge, when I replaced it a couple of years ago. I installed the drivers for both XP and Vista on the Epox computer for the HP LaserJet 1018 printer, and I put it on the near end of the coffee table underneath the keyboard drawer for the Northgate Syntax computer. I move the remote controls to the right on top of the magazines. CIO

I baked two breaded boneless breasts of chicken and three baked large potatoes with steamed broccoli crowns and baby carrots. I refrigerated in a flat Rubbermaid container one of the baked boneless breasts of chicken and 1.5 of the large baked potatoes, and I ate the rest with a cup of steamed vegetables with a glass of iced tea. I put a few pads of butter on the baked potato and a little bit of olive oil on the steamed vegetables. CIO
Note: <888> 04/30/08 Wednesday 3:15 A.M.. I watched a movie before going yesterday on Channel 778 high definition television about a Scottish family in Scotland and another movie about a British family traveling abroad on the same channel. I ate 1/3rd of a 16 ounce jar of CVS lightly salted peanuts. I went to bed about 10 A.M.. I had a computer survey telephone call before going to bed. I woke up about 7 P.M.. I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, orange and grape and cranraspberry juice with vitamins and supplements and coffee with milk and splenda sweetener. I washed the breakfast dishes. I made my bed. I chatted with a relative. I showered, and I cleaned up. I went out, and I went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a half gallon of Tropicana low acid orange juice for $2.50 and fresh Chiquita bananas for .59 a pound for $1.82 for $4.32 total. I then went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area. I used the bathroom at the Thataway restaurant. I admired the sculptures at the Senior and the Arts Center front yard. I viewed some of the art in the Greenwich Avenue store front windows. I walked through the Chase bank parking lot on Mason Street, and I walked along the north side of East Putnam Avenue from Mason Street to Greenwich Avenue. They have a large new furniture store there along with other specialty shops including Horseneck Liquors. I walked back down Greenwich Avenue. They are painting and stripping the cross walks downtown. I noticed in a pile of garbage, a discarded Brother all purpose fax, copier, and scanner. After my walk, I used my car, and I retrieved it, and I returned home. I brought it up with small folding cart that I keep in my trunk. It is a Brother International - Multifunction Centers - MFC-8840D , and it works, but it indicates it is low on toner. I can get the toner cartridge here in a generic model Brother TN540/TN570 Compatible Toner Cartridge for Brother MFC-8220, MFC-8440, HL-5140 Printers for $27 and $9.87 shipping for about $37, but for about $20 more, I can buy the original model toner cartridge from www.staples.com without the shipping. However, the unit works fine for now, and I should probably figure out how much usage the drum has on it before I make any investments in it. I moved the HP LaserJet 1018 printer from the left front of the dining table, and I put the Brother unit in its place. I connected it to both the power cable, and the USB cable, and the LPT cable that runs from the printer port box on the right lower side of the primary Vista computer. I set up its drivers and software, and it works just fine. I can set up the Brother unit with networking, so I should be able to run its printer features off the network, and possibly its other features. I put the HP LaserJet 1018 printer on top of the Epox computer monitor, and I will connect it up shortly to the Epox to use with it besides the network printers. More than likely the previous owner discarded the Brother unit because it was low on toner, and they got a newer color unit, which a lot of users are doing today, since the color units cost about as much as the older black and white units, but the color units are more expensive to use. I saw on local television I think on Channel 78 for the Greenwich, Connecticut planning and zoning commission meeting, they are planning to build two full size athletic playing fields on the harbor at the sight of the old Cos Cob power plant by the outlet for the Mianus River on Long Island Sound, and they plan to have a 3500 foot perimeter foot path along the waterfront surrounding the playing fields. They plan to build a 10 foot high concrete fence around the power transformer station still there, and they will have to build up the break waters and the retaining walls along the waterfront to level off the playing field areas, and there will be a modest amount of parking for the waterfront improvement, so locals will have room to park there, but it is near the Cos Cob train station, so maybe more people after commuter hours and on weekends will be able to park in that area. They had thought about building senior housing there, but they had to do an environmental cleanup of the site, because of PCPs left at the site from the old power generation station. It is the nature of being around the Swiss and the Swedes, we tend to know more than what is printed in the Hebrew press. I do know a friend Richard Van Marter Country Living Associates Richard Van Marter was also in the U.S. Army, so although he has the Swiss emblem on the rear of his Saab, more than likely he is not neutral. I do know when in Geneva, Switzerland, he visited the gun shop where Henry Kissinger buys his guns http://mikelouisscott.com/rv-ch-92.jpg , so whether he is Swiss Neutral or not, I have a fairly good idea that since his father belonged to Teddie Roosevelt's Camp Fire Gun Club about 10 miles north of us, he does know how to use them, because he frequently eats deer meat. Note: <888> 04/25/08 Friday 11:25 P.M.. I chatted with a relative. I filled a five quart pot with three quarts of water and a dash of sea salt and a teaspoon of olive oil, and I put it on the large electric burner on high to boil. While doing that, I put a couple of tablespoons of olive oil in a 10 inch stick proof frying pan and a few pads of butter, and then I peeled and diced three cloves of garlic and one medium large onion, and I added them to the frying pan, and I turned it on medium high electric burner heat on the smaller front burner, and once they began to sizzle, I added one eight ounce top round London broil burger cut into half inch chunks, and I seasoned it all with Old Bay Seasoning, garlic powder, ground black pepper, celery salt, cayenne pepper, paprika, Italian seasoning, and basil, and I mixed it all together stirring it until the beef was browned and the onions were blanched. I then added a 26 ounce jar of Francesco Rinaldi traditional tomato sauce, and I mixed it all together, and I covered it. Once the water in the pot was boiling, I added a 16 ounce package of Barilla linguine, and I boiled it for 12 minutes on high electric burner heat, and once it was done, I put a colander in another large pot, and I drained the hot water into the pot, and I set the colander of linguine on the side. I dumped the pot of hot water down the bathroom sink to clean out the shaving gel scum. While doing that I stirred the tomato sauce mixture frequently, and I then put half the linguine in a flat Rubbermaid container, and I put the other half on a large dinner plate with half of the tomato and beef mixture, and I put the other half of the tomato and beef mixture in a Rubbermaid container in the refrigerator, and I added some grated parmesan and Romano cheese mixture on top of the linguine and tomato and beef dinner, and I ate it all with a glass of iced tea. As usual after a meal, I cleaned up the kitchen. I threw the garbage outside. I emptied the two ashtrays outside of the front of the building. I walked around the outside of the building. There does not seem to be much activity around the ice skating rink anymore. However, we have had a bit of activity around the baseball field recently. I ate a three egg omelet with three slices Kraft white cheese with some grated parmesan and Romano cheese on it along with a toasted English muffin with butter and five strips of fried bacon with a glass of iced tea. Back around 1973, when the Republicans were not popular after Watergate, a few republicans held on in Manhattan eating cheese omelets in Greenwich Village, and once in a blue moon when the wealthier republicans would throw a fund raiser, they would server chicken pot pies. Of course since Greenwich, Connecticut is mostly a republican town, once one gets off Greenwich Avenue, the republicans seem to survive in this town, but you always have to keep an eye out for democrat spies with the Clintons living about five miles northwest of us, and the Kennedys and Cuomos living about five miles north of us. Since the democrats hold a lot of cocktail parties in this area, more than likely the democrats still drink a lot of liquor, so I am not sure how good their judgment is. I am pretty much tapped out as far as funds are concerned this month, so I will not be doing too much until next month, but my standards, I will have improved the apartment a little bit once I get the two new slipcovers. Although they might not smoke cigarettes, I can assure you with all of the first class liquor stores and pubs and bars and restaurants in this area, somebody out there in the wood work is still drinking alcohol. My balsa wood glider which I bought at the Ridgefield, Connecticut hardware store for about $1.58 two years ago is just doing fine. It is still in its packaging. It is the sole component of my www.af.mil . However, I recall when I drove up there two years ago to charge up the car battery on my Volvo wagon, a lot of people were shocked that gasoline at the Greenwich Automotive Exxon service station for self service premium was $2.979 a gallon, so there was not much traffic in this area at the time. Route 7 was full of gasoline guzzling vehicles for sale. Now two years later, it has gone up over another $1.19, which would mean $1.19 divided by 25 months, we have been experiencing $.0476 a gallon monthly increases for Exxon Self Service Premium at the Greenwich Automotive Services Exxon service station or $.5712 a year, or 21.233% increase per year for the last two years. However, the Social Security COLA Cost of Living Adjustment is only about a 2.30% increase this year Cost-of-Living Adjustments. Since energy costs are the primary variable in the COLA index, I would think it is quite safe to say, the U.S. Government is out of touch with economic reality in terms of its statistics on the COLA Social Security adjustment by a factor of about 10. Plus with my Energy Assistance being $235 less this year and my Renter's rebate being $500 less this year, it would seem to me the government is not living up to its commitment to the poor elderly and disabled people. I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes. I showered, and I cleaned up. I went out, and I went by the Arnold Bread outlet, and I bought two six packs of New York Everything bagels for .99 each for $1.98 total. I then went by my 3 P.M. appointment, and then I returned home. I picked up my mail. I chatted with a friend. Not much happening here in Southwest Greenwich, Connecticut. I suppose that is all for the best, since when not much is happening, it tends to save a bit of money. The friend that I chatted with was riding his bicycle in a town east of here along the shore front. Of course I live in a hilly part of Greenwich, so it is not as easy to ride a bicycle. However, I still do have my bicycle all set to go, if I need to ride it some time when there is less traffic. However, I can not do anything about the local hills. I then went to the Cos Cob Laundromat, and I put the dirty slip cover in a 65 pound capacity large washer machine, and I put 2.5 caps of Arm and Hammer liquid detergent in the prewash holder and 2.5 caps in the wash holder. Each cap is about 4 ounces, so it would be about 10 liquid ounces in each holder. I set the machine on cold delicate, and it cost $5.75 for the large washer machine, and it took about 38 minutes. I then put the slip cover in the dryer on low temperature for 6 seven minute cycles or 42 minutes for $1.50 for $7.25 total. I chatted with somebody from Brazil who was also doing laundry. I gave the individual a calling card. I found a Roosevelt dime in front of the Post Office next door. After the dry cycle the slip cover was dry and fluffy and like new. I then returned home. I put the slip cover on the down sofa over the slip cover that I washed a year ago. I put its four throw pillows with the old fabric on the back of the down sofa along with the white and color wool poncho and the orange and lemon afghan with an orange and a blue pattern throw pillow at each end. I moved the camera bag to the floor beneath the Lindbergh radio in front of the French reproduction chair. I move the Rio Player and its cables and holders to the side tray on top of the DeLonghi radiators to the right side of the bedroom desk. The moss green corduroy slip cover looks quite nice on the down sofa at the apartment entrance, and it fits quite well. I actually do not think I have ever washed it before, but it came out like new washing and drying it on the correct temperature settings. I used the larger washer machine, so it would be cleaned more thoroughly. The tag says the slip cover is made of nylon and polyester. CIO

I heard a helicopter fly overhead shortly before I woke up, but since they make them in Connecticut www.utc.com that is not unusual. I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with olive oil, orange and grape and cranraspberry juice with vitamins and supplements and coffee with milk and splenda sweetener. I went back to bed until 6:00 P.M.. I had a telephone call from Scarborough research to see if I had received their survey which I still have to fill out. I went outside, and I chatted with a few neighbors. I threw out some garbage. I walked around the building. One of my neighbors is putting in a Victory garden, and he dropped two packages of seeds, so I left them outside his apartment. I picked up my mail. I chatted with a relative. Not much seems to be going on. Energy wise, we are suppose to have a 400 year supply of coal in this country, and it would seem we could burn a little of it to have a little extra electricity. For the last few weeks at night, I have not been burning the primary apartment living room lights. I am now using the 15 watt energy efficient light in the bathroom which produces 60 watts of light which I leave on all the time. I leave a similar one on in the hallway bookcase light. I have a 15 watt sconce bulb in the small light in the bedroom going when I am awake. I have a lamp with another 15 watt energy efficient light going in the living room. I have a 20 watt bulb in the small elephant light on the living room window shelf. I have a power switch on the primary Vista computer control panel that turns on two energy efficient 15 watt lights, one on the speaker in the corner above the primary Vista computer setup, and the other in a fixture hanging above the keyboard. I also have a 15 watt energy efficient light in the kitchen stove fan I leave on all of the time. I also run an 8 watt night light bulb in the bathroom and another red 8 watt night light bulb in the kitchen. The primary FIC server has a 400 watt power supply, but it actually does not consume that much. That is just its maximum, and its monitors are rarely used. On the primary Vista computer, I have four 55 watt LCD monitor and the primary Vista computer has a 700 watt power supply, but it does not actually use that much, but that is its maximum. Recently in the late afternoon and early evening, I have been running the tower fan which is about 50 watts and the fan on the air conditioner to bring in fresh air which would be about 100 watts. Thus in terms of the lights alone, I am currently running 141 watts of lights when I am awake, along with the various computer items which I do not use continually. If I am not using the primary Vista computer for a while, its LCD screens go into power saving mode, where they use less electricity. That is about the best that I can do in terms of energy conservation, since I have to have lights to see to move around the apartment, when I am awake. I am running the router and the cable modem and the network switch all of the time which used about a 100 watts of electricity all together. I am have an electric hot water tank and a refrigerator that use quite a bit of electricity. CIO

I went back to bed until 3:00 P.M.. I watched the Pope's www.vatican.va mass from Yankee stadium. I then ate a baloney and cheese sandwich with a dill pickle slice and a glass of iced tea. I then showered, and I cleaned up. I went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area. I stopped by CVS, and I bought 4 buy one get on free of CVS 16 ounce Gold Emblem lightly salted dry roasted peanuts for $3.69 for two jars for $7.38 total. I sat out at various locations. I used the bathroom at Starbucks. I chatted with a Starbucks regular. I chatted with a couple of dog walkers. I then drove down by the waterfront on Steamboat Road, and there was one person down there from Pennsylvania. I then went by the Greenwich Automotive Services Exxon station, and I bought $7 of self service premium gasoline at $4.159 a gallon for 1.683 gallons for 19.3 miles driving since last Monday at odometer reading of 59803 for 11.4676 miles per gallon. Full service is about 20 cents a gallon more. I chatted with a young fellow riding a 1978 Harley Davidson Harley-Davidson motorcycle that he had just gotten going again with the higher price of fuel. He told me they are not that good on fuel economy. I checked my tires at 32 PSI all around. I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I browsed the store. I then used the ATM machine at the Chase Bank at the Stop and Shop branch. Last time I used the ATM machine inside the Stop and Shop to transfer funds in my account, there was a $2 charge, which I avoid by walking over to the Chase Bank www.chase.com . I then bought a three liter can of Star Extra Virgin olive oil from Tunisia for $20.49 and a half gallon of Florida Natural orange juice for $3 for $23.49 total. I put my purchases in the Audi, and then I went back inside the Stop and Shop, and I bought a dozen extra large jumbo eggs that expire May 4, 2008 for $2.49 and buy one get two free of www.ge.com Energy Smart 20 watt bulbs that put out 75 watts that last about five years and save about $44 for the life of the bulb for $4.99 all three for $7.48 total. I then returned home, and I chatted with a relative. There is a beautiful full moon out tonight, if anyone can afford to go out and possibly observe it down by the waterfront or where ever else one has a view of the night sky. CIO

Note: <888> 04/19/08 Saturday 9:50 P.M.. I put a cup of baby carrots and broccoli crowns in a plastic microwave proof pot with a lid and an inch of water, and I microwaved it on one vegetable cycle. I then took the pot out, and I put in the microwave a medium large Idaho potato that I had pricked three times on four sides with a fork, and I microwaved it on one potato cycle. While doing that I cut two half inch thick slices of cold eye round of beef, and I put a teaspoon of horse radish on each slice and Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce, and I then microwaved both the potato and vegetables on three vegetable cycles. I drained the vegetables, and I put them in a bowl with a little bit of olive oil. I cut opened the potato, and I sliced it inside a number of time, and I squeezed it, and then I added a few pads of butter. I ate it all with a glass of iced tea. CIO

I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with olive oil, orange and grape and cranraspberry juice with vitamins and supplements and coffee with milk and splenda sweetener. I went back to bed until 4:30 P.M.. I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes. I ate the remaining third of a 9.5 ounce can of CVS deluxe mixed nuts. I did two loads of laundry. I put clean linens on the bed. I picked up my mail, and I got a $5 bill from Scarborough Research that I will get for filling out one of their surveys. I made up another patch of passion punch. I made up another batch of Formula Two http://mikelouisscott.com/icetea.htm . I chatted with a relative. CIO
Note: <888> 04/19/08 Saturday 4:00 A.M.. I ate 2/3rds of a 10 ounce can of CVS deluxe mixed nuts. I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon. I am not sure whether I will be going out later today or not, since although I like being downtown on nice sunny days, it gets to be very expensive going downtown all of the time. Thus we may end up getting a bit of cabin fever around here this summer, but I can always keep busy on the computer, which I enjoy doing on the hot sultry days. Hot time summer in the city, back of my neck feeling dirt and gritty, cool time isn't it a pity, people all around me; as the old song use to go. CIO
Note: <888> 04/19/08 Saturday 3:05 A.M.. I just ordered Columbia Miramack 7005 Sunglasses from Campmor for $14.97 and $6.95 shipping for $21.92 total. CIO
Note: <888> 04/19/08 Saturday 2:20 A.M.. I also gave a calling card to one of the staff at the Greenwich Hardware store today. They had asked me a tech question that was simple enough to answer. Ctrl-C to copy and Ctrl-V to paste. I saw somebody wearing a Microsoft Office 2007 hat downtown today, so maybe Microsoft has shown up in the area to help out distressed beta testers, but more than likely it is just another OEM salesman.

I then went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area. I sat out at various locations. I chatted with a former night person at CVS, and I gave him a calling card. I also walked by the Chase Bank on Mason Street. I dressed more formally today, in case any visitors showed up from abroad. I wore my new $20 light green ultra suede light weight jacket I bought as a clearance item last summer from The Finest Men's Clothing at JoS. A. Bank Clothiers - The Expert in Men's Apparel. In moderate weather it is nice to wear a sports jacket for all of the items that one has to carry with them anymore. They tend to have a few pockets. I then covered it with Kraft Barbeque sauce. I baked it in the convection over at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. I also baked with it two potatoes that I scrubbed with cold water and a vegetable brush, and I pricked on four sides three times each side with a fork, and I microwave on one potato cycle first less three minutes. For the last 15 minutes of the cooking cycle, I boiled in a Revere pot with lid in an inch of water and a steamer tray a cup of baby carrots and broccoli crowns. I put the steamed vegetables in a bowl with a little bit of olive oil. I put the baked potato on a plate, and I sliced it open with a knife, and I cut diagonal slices inside it, and I added three pads of no salt butter to melt. I cut off two half 7/16th inch slices of the hot beef, and I put them on the dinner plate with the potato, and the beef juices. I put the rest of the beef in a Rubbermaid container, and I refrigerated it as I did with the other potatoes. I ate the dinner with a glass of iced tea. CIO

I went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop, and I bought a professional French chef style knife sharpener that is a bit dull for $2.
I then went to my usual Thursday appointment. I then toured the 911 memorial park on the south side of the Watson pavilion of the Greenwich Hospital.
I then went downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area. I chatted with some locals. Note: <888> 04/16/08 Wednesday 11:25 P.M.. After dinner, I chatted with a relative. I showered, and I cleaned up. I watched the Euro News. There does not seem to be much going on in Europe besides meetings. I guess meetings give the European politicians a chance to travel. I ate a 10 ounce can of Planter's Deluxe mixed nuts. In the old days back in the 1950s when Stillman Rockefeller was on the Board of Directors of Monsanto www.monsanto.com which owned Chemstrand the maker of Nylon and Acrilan, we got use to eating Planters Nuts when we flew around on the private company DC3s and Gulf Streams. They use to have boxed lunches on the plane, and there was always a well stocked bar with plenty of Planters nuts in reserve. Of course once we moved to Greenwich, Connecticut we had to learn to get by at the Greenwich Country Club http://www.geocities.com/mike2scott2006/Greenwich-Country-Club.jpg where I started the Greenwich Country Day Greenwich Country Day golf team with Pete French's help. The only Rockefeller, I ever met was Mary Rockefeller who was in my class at Greenwich Country Day along with a Frick, Vanderbilt, Dodge, and Warburg. There were also a few lesser relatives from some of the minor Robber Baron families. I guess about 20 years ago, when the Rockefellers fell on hard times, and they were forced to move www.exxon.com out of Manhattan down to the Boon Docks in Texas, the town of Greenwich, Connecticut never ever totally recovered from its former glory and prosperity. All we get is a few tourists looking for people whom do not live here anymore. I suppose a lot of prosperous people have visited here over the years, and from what I can tell one of the long term prosperous people whom is still able to manage to keep a foot hold on a back country estate is http://mikelouisscott.com/agakhan01.jpg , but with close to 700 homes around the world, he probably does not spend much time around here anymore, since he does not have any rich people to hang out with in this neck of the woods. Trust me the rich people have enough money and resources to know who is really rich, and whom are just the accessories and the camp travelers. I suppose since it is cold in Europe, the wealthy Europeans when they travel do not choose to visit in the northern part of the Americas, since everyone seems to enjoy escaping to the sun in warmer ports of call. From what I can tell, the only rice person that ever visits Canada is Queen Elizabeth II about every 20 years or so. Being up north in Connecticut, we are pretty much like Canada, and occasionally we get the well heeled golfer on an outing during the summer, and the rest of the time, the town of Greenwich, Connecticut is like a party waiting to happen. In other word's the Roaring 20s ended with the stock market crash of October 1929, and until about the 1970s, Greenwich was just a summer resort town and not much was happening here in the winter. I suppose since we do not have the Alps like Switzerland, we can not offer winter entertainment. CIO
Note: <888> 04/16/08 Wednesday 7:25 P.M.. I woke up at 9 A.M. this morning. I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted English muffin with olive oil, orange and grape and cranraspberry juice with vitamins and supplements and coffee with milk and splenda sweetener. I went back to bed until 2:30 P.M.. I watched President Bush's www.whitehouse.gov Energy Policy speech. I surfed the internet. I noticed at nearby www.homedepot.com in Port Chester, New York they have less expensive microwave ovens advertised on their web site than some of the other discount stores further away. Of course Home Depot is also a good place to find an inexpensive air conditioner once it gets warmer. I threw out some garbage, and I chatted with a neighbor. I picked up the mail. I got the www.lfc.edu alumni bulletin. I put away my four union suits and long underwear on the top closet shelf. I left one pair of Durafolds out in case we get a cold day. I hung out my leisure shorts on the long underwear hook at the bedroom entrance. I hung up the four new polo shirts with my monogram on them in the bedroom closet. I put away on the top left closet shelf the two comforters and electric blanket off the bed in the bedroom and the two comforters off the end of the living room sofas. I put the blue light weight summer blanket on the bed with a pink and green quilt along with a white light weight wool blanket at the end of the bed. I put my winter caps, gloves, and scarves on the lower shelf in the hallway sweater closet. In the right living room closet, I rotated my winter coats to the left, and my light spring and fall jackets to the right, so they are more easily accessible. I opened up the General Electric www.ge.com 15,500 BTU Profile air conditioner with remote control removing the Styrofoam and pinning up the curtain above it with bobby pins. I moved the white wicker breakfast tray from in front of it on the window shelf behind the Sony television. I arranged some of the bric-a-brac around the air conditioner. I have the remote control for the air conditioner and the tower fan on the brass and glass coffee table in front of the Ethan Allen recliner. I tested the air conditioner and fan, and they work just fine for the upcoming warmer weather. I am not leaving the primary apartment lights on most of the time, because they produce too much heat, and they do use a bit of electricity. I am just leaving some low lights on most of the time.

Note: <888> 04/15/08 Tuesday 11:55 P.M.. I ate the last Quaker granola bar. I ate five .25 inch by 1.25 inch by 1.75 inch slices of Vermont extra sharp cheddar cheese. I ran the www.crucial.com memory test on the Northgate Syntax backup computer, and it currently has a 256 meg. and a 512 meg. One could try this high density memory 1GB 128X64 PC-2700 DDR SDRAM 184 PINS <b><font color=red>HI-DENSITY GRADE </b></font> which might work, but this low density memory would definitely is suppose to work, so it would cost $66 to $45.50 to upgrade the Northgate Syntax computer to 2 gigabytes of memory. Since it has an AMD XP2000 processor, it is an older model, so at this point, I think the current 768 megs of memory are enough with Vista basic. Of course to get it in PNY memory would be about $120 which is way too expensive. Since it is just a backup computer, it is not really necessary. CIO

Note: <888> 04/15/08 Tuesday 3:05 A.M.. Not much happening in Yankee land, but I heard its cooler down in Dixie Land. I thought I saw the Mouth of the South walking around today, so maybe he came north of El Pape. I watched a bit of our local television High Definition channels, and although I don't watch it very much, the programs seem to repeat themselves frequently, so I guess there is not much new programming on High Definition Television. I guess you have to pay more for new content. Since I have a European outlook after having lived around Europeans in Greenwich, Connecticut all of these years and after having lived in Europe for about sevens months all together over five trips across the Pond, I guess I have exhausted my Ecological foot print for traveling across the Pond, but if you included my two week trip to Bermuda, it would be closer to eight months. However, if you included my 47 years living on and off in the New York Metropolitan area, I might have a broader viewpoint than some of the local wood cutters in Connecticut. I also saw somebody carrying a very large military regulation green duffle bag downtown today, so maybe the military is beginning to return from their travels abroad. We don't know much about what has happened in the war in Iraq since there has been strict United States Government censorship, and it is probably the least covered war of its duration in recent history. The local newspaper says that five thousand people are suppose to be withdrawn each month, so with 400,000 people over there, it would take 80 months or 6.6666666666666666666666667 years for the war to finally be over and for all of the military personnel to be withdrawn. Meanwhile back in Greenwich, Connecticut not much has changed over the years, but more McMansions are now made of rock and stone instead of wood. We have mostly European and Japanese cars here. There are still American cars on the road, but they tend to be the types that large people drive or families. I guess the rest of the world got modern along with computer equipment. Alas, the prices of the new items are also equally expensive. Without an increase of income at the COLA at the real level, I only get about a 1.5 % a year cost of living adjustment, but it would seem to be me the real world COLA in this area is closer to 50% to 100% a year at least for the last few years. Well, I am a bit tired, so I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon. I hear tell that England can be 2 to 5 times more expensive, but just because you speak English, it does not mean you will survive over there. Of course Canada has the same exchange rate on the Dollar, so if you have a United States Passport, you can visit and return from Canada to see how the Northern Canadians are doing. There are still a few Canadians around here, but they know I have not spent more than about two months in Canada during my life, so I really do not know that much about Canada. Since I have lived here longest, I would be like a Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court if I ever went to England. CIO
Note: <888> 04/15/08 Tuesday 1:15 A.M.. I watched a program on the National Geographic channel about foreigners caught abroad and arrested on drug offences. Apparently the time served is quite severe. Of course we have television shows here in America about life in prison, which although they seem more sanitary in the United State are not necessarily any better. From what I can tell, frequently individuals whom drink too much alcohol or use other controlled substances get caught up in a web of intrigue which leads to their down falls. I wander what life is like in an ordinary Chinese prison. I will now do some bottom fishing on the internet, which does not yield much anymore, since with inflation the prices have gotten so expensive around here, there are not many bargains to be found on the internet, and even when one finds a bargain, the savings are usually eaten up by the shipping costs. By my standards, the item has to be 90% off or more with free shipping. CIO

Note: <888> 04/14/08 Monday 10:15 P.M.. I chatted with my relative again. Once the water in the pot was boiling, I added a 16 ounce package of Barilla linquine, and I boiled it for 12 minutes on high electric burner heat, and once it was done, I put a colander in another large pot, and I drained the hot water into the pot, and I set the colander of linguine on the side. CIO

I stopped by the Greenwich Cigar Store, and I played a Green Backs scratch card for a dollar cost, and I won a dollar for a net profit of zero. I chatted with three associates, and I gave them calling cards. I stopped by CVS, and I read the store circular. I walked by the Chase Bank on Mason Street, and I did some business there. They now have the new quarters for the state of Oklahoma with the Scissor tailed fly catcher bird on the reverse side. I chatted with a relative on my AT&T go phone. After my walk, I used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center. I then went by the Greenwich Library, and I chatted with some staff. At Speakeasy - Speed Test , their download speed at the library is about 35.5 megs download and 2.5 megs upload. I then went by the Greenwich Automotive Services Exxon gasoline station, and they are out of regular and medium grade gasoline, and they just have premium. I bought $6 of self service premium unleaded gasoline at $3.959 a gallon for 1.516 gallons for 24.1 miles driving since last Thursday at odometer reading of 59783 miles for 15.897 miles per gallon driving at faster speeds on East Putnam Avenue when I got my tire fixed last Friday and driving slightly faster with less traffic which seems to be moving in the area. The good news about the higher prices of gasoline in the area is that the air quality seems to be a lot better in this area. I then returned home, and I picked up my mail. CIO

Note: <888> 04/14/08 Monday 10:15 A.M.. After the note last night, I tried putting in my spare new Maxtor hard drive in the FIC server, but that did not fix the problem, so I put the old hard drive back in. I also put in another IDE cable. I also tried disabling one of the DVD drives, but that did not fix the problem. I went to bed about midnight, and I woke up at 7:30 A.M. this morning. I booted the FIC computer in SVGA mode, and I installed the updates. In SVGA mode it was running just fine. I then booted it in regular AGP mode, and it ran just fine. However, I was thinking that since the apartment was warmer yesterday, it might be a overheating problem. I was thinking about putting in one of my more powerful spare CPU coolers. However, I remembered that I had used in the front of the FIC case a Cling Free Static free dryer sheet for an air filter. I pulled it out, and it was quite dirty, and I could hear the front Case fans going faster after it was removed. I also changed some of the AGP settings in the CMOS, and I also have the motherboard LAN and the Motherboard Audio disabled. With the cling free static free air filter removed in this morning's cooler apartment, the CPU temperature is now 59 degrees Celsius instead of 67 Degrees Celsius which is was yesterday. Thus I would say the FIC server computer is back to running fine again. I will start up the server on it shortly and shut down the Epox computer. CIO
Note: <888> 04/13/08 Sunday 7:00 P.M.. I did a memory test on the FIC server, and the Memory test passed. I chatted with a relative. I am ate half of a 10 ounce can of Planter's Deluxe mixed nuts with some iced tea. I am now doing a complete low level format of the first hard drive on the FIC server. Since the low level format utility works, I don't think it is the new IDE cable or the motherboard SIS hard drive controller. There was a report last night that a virus had infected a million computers, and about the time the FIC server shut down, Norton Internet Security 2008 reported the primary Vista computer as being attacked and it resolved the problem. All I can figure out that is a micro virus can write itself to beginning of the hard drive or the end, and by doing a complete low level format, the end of the hard drive is also wiped clean. It will take at least four hours for the low level format to complete. The Seagate Hard Drive utility has the low level or write zero option in its utilities. There is no problem with the Vista backup on the FIC server, since I have restored it before without any problems before this current problem. If it were the FIC motherboard, I have another nearly identical FIC motherboard, and the only difference is that its SIS bus is 233 MHz instead of 400 MHz, otherwise it is exactly the same. It is a bit warmer in the apartment up to 78 degrees, but I do not think that is the problem. Possibly since the FIC server runs all of the time, there is some other problem with its motherboard, but it does not show up when running the low level format or the memory test, but it did shut down, once when I was restoring the Vista Complete PC backup. When I restore the backup, I get different error message and system shut downs. I think I should rest some more, so I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go back to bed. CIO
Note: <888> 04/13/08 Sunday 4:40 P.M.. I was awake at 11:30 A.M. this morning. I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, orange and grape and cranraspberry juice with vitamins and supplements and coffee with milk and splenda sweetener. I washed the breakfast dishes, and I made my bed. I put a new 12 inch IDE cable in the FIC server, but that still did not fix the problem. I tried restoring the backup a few times, and it still crashes. I tried doing a partial low level format. I tried installing XP, but it still crashed on installation, which means it is a hardware problem. I am now restoring the Vista Ultimate backup, and then I will run the Vista memory diagnostics from the Vista installation disk. I chatted with a relative to wish the relative happy birthday. CIO
Note: <888> 04/13/08 Sunday 6:20 A.M.. I started up the Server on the Epox computer and updated its files. The FIC server worked briefly, and then it failed again. From past experience, all I can figured out, it might be a hard drive cable. It does not start in safe mode either. I will fix it later on today. I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon. CIO
Note: <888> 04/13/08 Sunday 4:05 A.M.. While I was sending out my notes, my FIC server malfunctioned like it was hacked. I restored the backup, but it still will not start up except in Safe Mode. I am not sure what the problem is. I am running the Disk tools to see if there is a problem with the hard drive. CIO

I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, orange and grape and cranraspberry juice with vitamins and supplements and coffee with milk and splenda sweetener. I surfed the internet. I went outside briefly, and I threw out some garbage, and I moved my Audi to its usual place, and I chatted with a neighbor. I went back to bed until noon. I watched a bit of television. I went back to bed until 4:30 P.M.. I went outside briefly, and I chatted with a neighbor. Another neighbor forgot himself. I ate a boloney and cheese sandwich with 1/3rd of a tube of Pringle sour cream and onion potato chips and a dill pickle slice with a glass of iced tea. I chatted with a relative who is having a birthday today. I did two loads of laundry and one dry cycle. I hung my woolens up to dry, so they will not shrink. Hopefully, I will not have to wear the long underwear union suits again until next winter. I put clean linens on the bed. Earlier I picked up the mail. I showered, and I cleaned up. I went downtown without long underwear or a polar fleece, so it is warmer out this evening. I did wear a jacket. I went by the Chase Bank on Mason Street. I then went by CVS, and I bought four cans of Planter's Deluxe Mixed Nuts for $2.99 each can for $11.96 total. They regularly are $6.59. I like munching on nuts, since it is a habit I picked up growing up down south, before I moved here in 1961. I then walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area. I sat out at various areas. I chatted with a relative on my AT&T Go Phone. It was not too busy out this past evening, and the regular Saturday night activity seemed to be about one third of its normal activity. I saw a license plate from West Virginia, so maybe some of the southern people are coming north. I then returned home. I made and ate a three egg omelet with grated parmesan cheese and four slices of Kraft white American cheese along with five strips of maple bacon and a toasted bagel with butter, and I ate it all with a glass of iced tea. I will now do some regular computer work. CIO
Note: <888> 04/11/08 Friday 10:30 P.M.. I chatted with a relative. I made two copies of the Mavis Tire repair receipt. I put one in the Audi with the other documents in the driver's side rear map holder. I also put a new Christmas Tree Pine Scent card hanging from the driver's side rear seat hook. They now sell them off a front vendor rack at the Stop and Shop. Tomorrow the Queen Elizabeth II QE2 - Itinerary - 2008 departs from Manhattan for its last Trans Atlantic voyage before retiring at the end of the year as a floating hotel in Dubai. Well, I am a bit tired after four hours sleep last night, so I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will go to bed soon. CIO

I put the tea in the refrigerator to become iced tea. I threw out the
garbage and the old periodical literature. I then checked out my Audi, and
I noticed the passenger side front tire was flat. I examined the tire and
at the top of the tire on the tread, there was one of the plastic director's
chair's feet round plastic cap with screw that had become embedded in the
automobile tire. I guess it fell out at the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop
yesterday, and became embedded in the tire. I was not able to pull it out,
and I figured it was best to leave it in, so the tire repair person would know
where the hole was. I replace the tired with the spare, and it is simple
enough to repair a flat on the Audi. However, the smaller spare was not
fully inflated. I changed into some casual clothes, and I brought down the
Slaymaker jump start system, and I pumped up the air in the spare tire to 50
PSI. I left the deflated tire in the rear of the Audi. I then drove
over to

Friday evening rush hour traffic. I went by the adjacent store of

His telephone number is 1-203-637-8017. I gave him one of my calling

about finance. I then walked in the other direction, and I chatted with a
couple of local law enforcement officers. I noticed the Howard Johnson's
www.hojo.com is still closed, and I was told,
they are planning a remodeling. I noticed my old insurance company Rand
Insurance was still there. I think I used them, when I had the 1971 yellow
Subaru station wagon. I toured the Greenwich Aqauria tropical fish tank
setup shop, and they have some dazzling displays. I chatted with them
briefly. I wanted to cross the street to look at the Balducci's store from
Greenwich Village, but there was too much traffic to make it across the street.
I chatted with another tire repair customer about IBM
www.ibm.com sailing teams around the world and
how they have several dozen offices in the Caribbean. About 7 P.M. the
Audi was ready. I then drove by the Greenwich Automotive Services Exxon
station, and I checked all of the tires for 32 PSI and the spare for 60 PSI.
I then returned home. I put the spare back in its lower rear compartment, and
the jack and its tools back in the side rear compartment, and I reorganized the
items stored in the trunk, and the glove compartment. When I was at
www.newcountryaudi.com earlier this
week, I was given an extra owners manual. I was told by Mavis, my H rated
Michelin tires are good to 130 miles per hour, and I still have five to ten
thousand miles wear left on them. I chatted with a neighbor. I
received a UPS notice, they tried to deliver

I ate there many times. It was as I recall near the Polo Lounge at the Westbury Hotel. Possibly it was a Morrison family cafeteria which were famous through out the south, and they were out of New Orleans, Louisiana, and the Morrison family also ran Lookout Mountain Camp LMC: for boys near Camp Desoto for girls. Both camps had equestrian riding programs.

Note: <888> 04/11/08 Friday 2:50 P.M.. In 1975, I visited with George Cary down at Hunterton in Bernardsville, New Jersey near New Hope, where Jeremy Wind who was a knight of the House of Orange and made money advertising www.vw.com . He was a partner of George Morrison on the farm where the United States Equestrian Team United States Equestrian Team Foundation - USET.org was. I guess they have since moved to Gladstone, New Jersey where George Cary's grandfather Jay Coogan had a farm with a lot of Queen Victoria's old four in hand carriages. Jay Coogan did not bother heating his house since coming from England it was warm enough in New Jersey. We also met Tab Hunter who might have made some money advertising www.coke.com . Jeremy Wind was from Mississippi horse farm country, and he also had a music group Chad and Jeremy. He lived in a small apartment on East 78th street where he was also the Tree Warden. As I recall Jeremy was red haired, George Morrison was dark or brown hair, and Tab Hunter was blond hair. I guess they networked up in horse circles with Mark Phillips to keep the British horse business going in New Jersey. Of course George Cary is so busy with New York Racing Association - Aqueduct and New York State, he does not pay much attention to them down in New Jersey. Jeremy also use to advertise Miller Beer Miller Beer > Home of Miller Lite and Miller Genuine Draft or some other popular beer. It was so long ago, I have a hard time remembering. CIO

I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, a toasted bagel with olive oil, orange and grape and cranraspberry juice with vitamins and supplements and coffee with milk and splenda sweetener. I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes. I chatted with a friend and the www.whitehouse.gov about out local economy. I also chatted with the British Embassy, and they do not seem to have the foggiest indication whom I am after all of these years. I guess the Noveau Riche new people in England don't bother to keep track of the Old Guard British living in America. I left two messages with a relative and another two messages with a friend. I still had problems with the older Netgear LAN card going online at startup, and I put in the new Netgear LAN card that is Vista ready, and that solved the problem, plus on 10/100 network setup, it goes about 10% faster or just under 16 megabytes per second download and 5.5 megabytes per second upload. To solve the sleep mode problem, I disabled it in Power Saving. CIO
Note: <888> 04/10/08 Thursday 10:40 P.M.. I chatted with a relative and a friend. I ate a bowl of potato salad with a glass of iced tea. When the primary Vista computer goes to sleep, it has not been waking up out of sleep mode without rebooting, so I changed a few CMOS settings, and I also disabled the motherboard LAN and the motherboard sound. I don't need the motherboard sound except to pipe it into the television, and I do not need the second LAN. When I rebooted I uninstalled the Netgear LAN, and then when I rebooted again, the Netgear LAN reinstalled itself, and then the computer connected online properly. I will now do a bit of regular computer work. It is suppose to be cold and damp tomorrow, so I will probably be staying inside, and I have no outside activity to do, so I might stay up later tonight, and get up later tomorrow. I will stay up as late as possible tonight. It is nice to get outside in the daytime to do some errands, but since I have been nocturnal for about 40 years, sooner or later I fall back into my nocturnal patterns. CIO
Note: <888> 04/10/08 Thursday 8:05 P.M.. Earlier today, when I was at Greenwich www.exxon.com , I also checked the air in the tires of the Audi for 32 Pounds Per Square Inch. This evening, I also checked the motor oil on the Audi, and it is topped up. I also filled up the windshield washer fluid container. CIO
Note: <888> 04/10/08 Thursday 7:45 P.M.. As mentioned before, I cancelled the order below. I have a set of four solid oak TV type tables, which stand about 20 inches high and about 15 inches by 20 inches square, so I put two of them in the rear of the Audi along with the folding chairs. They told me at www.llbean.com that there is still snow up in Freeport, Maine too, and they don't plant their tomatoes in Maine until Memorial Day. Thus I have four folding chairs and two solid oak folding TV tables in the rear of the Audi for leisure use, whenever I might have a chance to travel with guests, and since it costs money to drive these days, we could sit outside on some nice day and enjoy the scenery around the waterfront or elsewhere in town such as the Greenwich Common. They could also be used to campaign for our favorite political candidate www.johnmccain.com on Greenwich Avenue, and they also could be a portable outside office for short distances on a nice day. The Pope Benedict XVI Vatican: the Holy See is suppose to be in the U.S.A. Apostolic Journey to the United States of America and visit to the United Nations Organization Headquarters (April 15-21, 2008) and in New York City next Friday April 18, 2008 through Sunday April 20, 2008, so more than likely some prominent catholic families that people do not know about in this area might be showing up in this area. Also the Pope does not travel by himself, so there might be a few prominent Europeans visiting here too. Since he is addressing the Welcome to the UN. It's your world. , there might be some prominent church representative and other dignitaries from around the world too. CIO
Note: <888> 04/10/08 Thursday 6:45 P.M.. I cancelled the order for Macro Table: Outdoor Gear at L.L.Bean for $24.95 and $1.50 tax plus free shipping with coupon or promotion code "2373230" for $26.45 total. It has 7 to 10 day delivery. It folds up into a compact table that I can keep in the rear of the Audi with the four folding chairs, thus it will be available soon to use with the folding chairs. It stands 14.75 inches high, so technically one could use it with a couple of laptop computers or for cards or for a picnic or beverage containers. Here at the Greenwich, Connecticut branch of the Bermuda Yacht Club, such technical details are important, since we all know the British like to picnic particularly around the waterfront. In the details it says it collapses to 2.5 inches by 4.75 inches by 24 inches. Older people when they sit outside are better off with folding chairs than trying to sit on a picnic blanket. Since we can not usually afford to drive all the way to Tod's Point, we still have Byram Shore and Grass Island in our area along with a few other local parks or for that matter the pier on Steamboat Road. Maybe with the higher prices of fuel, the regular fishermen on the pier on Steamboat Road will not be able to hog the pier so much this summer. CIO
Note: <888> 04/10/08 Thursday 4:35 P.M.. I went to my 3 P.M. appointment. I will now do some regular computer work. There does not seem to be much worth bottom fishing for on the internet for, but at least I am not spending money, when I don't buy something. I think income tax day is coming up soon. If Richard Nixon were still available, since he wrote most of the tax laws when he was in the House of Representatives, and since he was a lawyer in a tax law firm, more than likely he would be the best person to use for preparing one's income taxes. I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes. I went outside, and I threw out some garbage, and I checked the weather. I then fixed the U.S.A. flag in the back where its lanyard hook had broken at the swivel, and I reconnected it by just using the lanyard hook. I raised it up about a foot from the top. I then showered, and I cleaned up. I went out. I moved the snow brushes and ice scrapers from the back seat floor to the trunk area of the Audi. I chatted with some neighbors. I then went downtown. I went by CVS, and I bought two CVS - Weekly Store Ad Online Folding Quad Chairs in red for $7.99 each and .96 for $16.94 total. They are suppose to support 225 pounds of weight. I put them in the trunk of the Audi. I then went back into CVS, and I bought a 27 ounce bottle of Febreze for $3.99 less a $3.50 Bonus Buck CVS coupon and .03 tax for .52 total. I then drove further downtown, and I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area. I stopped by the Greenwich Hardware store, and I bought a larger brass landyard for $2.76. I then completed my walk, and then I went by the Merry Go Round Mews thrift shop. I then used the bathroom at the senior and the arts center. I then went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift Shop, and I bought two folding wooden directors chairs with yellow canvas seats and backs for $5 each for $10 total. I took the canvas backs off the director chairs, so I could collapse them, and I put them both in the back trunk area of the Audi, along with their yellow canvas backs. I thus have four folding chairs in the back of the Audi for outside relaxation around the waterfront in my travels with any guests that might also arrive. I then went by the Greenwich Library, and I chatted with a staff member. I then went by the Greenwich Automotive Services Exxon gasoline station, and I bought $10 of self service premium gasoline at $3.899 a gallon for 2.564 gallons for 27.8 miles driving at odometer of 59759 miles since I last filled up 12 days ago for 10.843 miles per gallon driving in heavy local traffic stop and go driving. I chatted with a local Exxon observer. I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a 33.5 ounce box of Pepperidge Farm whole wheat goldfish crackers for $7.99 and fresh Chiquita bananas at .59 a pound for $1.06 for $9.05 total. I then bought a two pack of Stop and Shop Pure Power blue automatic toilet bowl cleaner tables 1.7 ounce each of the two for $2.85 total. I then returned home. I took the old lanyard broken lanyard off the flag bowl in back, but I was not able to attach the new one, since the ring fastening part of the old one was held on with three black plastic tie strips, so I use the new brass one to attach the flag to that ring. The new part can be used if someone ever reattaches it with similar black plastic tie strips. I chatted with some neighbors. I picked up my mail. I ate a baloney and cheese sandwich with potato salad and iced tea. I have a 3 P.M. appointment this afternoon. CIO

I have a Black and Decker electric can opener to give to a relative in Maine for an upcoming birthday, and I also will throw in two of the five multiple packs of alkaline batteries that I bought on sale at CVS at Christmas time. They always seem to need batteries in Maine. Of course sooner or later I might drive them up to Maine, or I might wait for relatives traveling north to take them up to Maine. I probably will not be going to Maine until the end of June or later. It is still cool enough, I am leaving the extra blankets and comforters available on the living room sofas, and I still need the comforter on the bed in the bedroom at night. Traditionally the Mad Rush of Florida people does not start to happen until around the first of June, but there are always a few Dixie cousins trying to get an early start up north, despite the colder nights that we still have. Of course further north of us particularly away from the waterfront, it can still be much colder. I chatted with the Key West Hotel Resorts & Florida Keys Beach Accommodations - Casa Marina Resort Key West , and they now have people from Panama working there, so it must be getting warmer down south. I suppose the Cherry blossoms are out in Washington D.C., but we have not yet reached that point yet here in Greenwich, Connecticut. I usually advise people to follow the blooming of the Azalea Society of America up north. In other words, one should be at the Masters Golf tournament The Official Site of the Masters Tournament this weekend, and the Welcome | Kentucky Derby 134 the first Saturday in May, so we usually don't see the southern people until about a month after that in their slow traveling up north, by which time, I am so hot, I am usually sitting by the General Electric Profile 15,500 BTU air conditioner with remote control that I bought eight years ago for $600 during the first week of June when it was a 100 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Its maintenance contract is paid up until September 12, 2008, but I have never had to use it, and I am not sure how much electricity I can afford for cooling this upcoming hot summer, but I do have to keep the computer equipment cooler, so I will probably have to keep the apartment below 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Note: <888> 04/09/08 Wednesday 7:10 A.M.. When I observed retired people in Florida in the 1970s, I noticed they all seemed to keep one or two folding beach chairs in their trunks of their automobiles, so when they traveled around up and down on the shores and beaches of Florida, they would have something to sit on in their travels. This past summer I left five various folding chairs up at the house and the cabana in Kennebunkport, Maine, and I also gave away the two folding Ford Explorer chairs that I had, when I sold the Buick wagon. To be honest, I never used any of the folding chairs, since I tend to end up sitting on a bench downtown or standing in my limited travels. However, I have noticed many folding chairs can not actually support the weight of individuals whom sit on them. I did some research, and I found this folding chair which is suppose to hold 350 pounds MAC Sports Big Boy Comfort Chair from Campmor in blue or black for $25.99 and $6.95 shipping for either one or two both. I do not need to order it for myself, but if one needed one, and one were heavier in weight, it would seem to fit the ticket. CIO
Note: <888> 04/09/08 Wednesday 5:45 A.M.. I refilled my AT&T Go Phone AT&T GoPhone with $25 in time and a $1.50 tax for $26.50 total. I now have $64.01 worth of time on the phone to use at 25 cents a minute, and the minutes are good until July 8, 2008, by which time I will have to refill them again. One of these days, I should try chatting on the Go Phone instead of changing the minutes. CIO

I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes. I made two copies of the Audi service report from yesterday. I caught the 3:35 P.M. public bus, and it dropped me off in front of www.newcountryaudi.com . The bus cost a $1.25. I picked up my Audi. I was not charged for the two recall repairs. I then went downtown, and I sat out for a while. I chatted with a regular at Starbucks. Starbucks gave away the promotional cups of coffee from noon to 12:30 P.M.. I used the bathroom at the Senior and the Arts center. I then went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought a six pack of Thomas New York Everything bagels for $2.50, a 30 ounce jar of Hellmann's lite mayonnaise for $3.99, a quart jar of Vlassic dill pickles for $2, a two pound bag of baby carrots for $2.99, a five pound bag of Idaho potatoes for $2.99, broccoli crowns at $1.99 a pound for $1.33 for $15.80 total. I chatted with another night person out in the day time. I then returned home. I chatted with a neighbor. I put away my groceries. I contemplated the price of tea in China. Well now much happening on the Eastern front. I saw a vintage orange Chevrolet station wagon while waiting for the bus, and it had black and yellow California plates on it, so I guess some people are returning to the warmer season around here. I was a bit over dressed for the warmer day, but since I do not use the electric heat in my apartment, I tend to feel cold all of the time. CIO
Note: <888> 04/08/08 Tuesday 3:15 P.M.. I took a short nap and watched some television. I just received a telephone call from www.newcountryaudi.com that the Audi is ready in about a half hour. There is a 3:35 P.M. bus, but I don't think I have the change, so I will probably walk it. I will now shut down the primary Vista computer, and I will get ready to go over there. Traditionally the only society in Manhattan has always been the Vanderbilts or whatever remains of them, so they keep a modest golf cottage http://www.geocities.com/mike2scott2006/Greenwich-Country-Club.jpg out here in Greenwich, Connecticut for any of their relatives whom know how to play golf or tennis. I have not been there in a couple of years, but it is suppose to be run like a modest three star hotel now, so if one knows a member, one can use its facilities, if one can afford it. A local lawyer on East Elm Street in Greenwich, Connecticut Larry Lawson might be a member, since he wears a Greenwich Country Club sweater in the Greenwich Library, so he could possibly arrange to put up guests there, but one would probably have to pay him some sort of token legal fee. With all of the great resorts and five star hotels in the world, the modest golfing and tennis facility at the Greenwich Country Club is not much in terms of first glass resorts in the world, but it does offer a token amount of hospitality off the beaten path in Greenwich, Connecticut. I remembered back during the last Thursday of May 1980, which would have been May 25, 2000, I went to my usual Thursday 3 P.M. appointment. After the appointment, I drove out to Tod's Point about 4 P.M. in my 1976 white Volvo 4 door sedan. Reilly was at the gate, and I have since seen him with Canadian license plates on his van, and he told me he retired because of a heart condition. I parked behind the bushes at the southwest picnic area parking area. I was wearing my brown leather Brooks Brothers leather jacket and Australian medium green fedora bush hat. When driving out, I saw a lady who looked like Queen Elizabeth II holding out a riding crop. I walked out towards the southwest picnic area. When I walked underneath, the tree limb overhanging the path about 100 yards south of the parking area, a large piece of bark fell off the lower side of the tree limb. I sat out further at the picnic bench, I observed about three ducks and a few sea gulls. I sat out for about 15 minutes. When I walked back towards the parking lot, I noticed at the base of tree where the bark had fallen off the tree limb, about six inches off the ground there was a five inch galvanized nail with a head nailed half way into the base of tree which was bent and it was holding a 1.5 inch by 1.5 inch florescent orange flat target marker. It sort of made me think that I was possibly being shot at. I told an undercover police office at the southwest parking area picnic table area near the restrooms who was standing there with three youths. I then went back to my car, and I drove back out to the gate, and I told Reilly what had happened. I also noticed a teenage youth riding a racing bike around Tod's Point with a florescent orange wind breaker jacket. I then went by the Riverside Post Office, and I told someone there what had happened. I then on the way back along the shore at the Indian Field Road Bridge, I saw a 1954 light blue and dark blue two tone Ford station wagon with a surf board on top with South Carolina license plates, and I used to see that car in the area. At Bruce park, I told a tall police office with dark hair who was playing baseball what had happened. I then went down to Steamboat Road, and I told the desk at the Indian Harbor Yacht Club what had happened. I helped a employee of the Indian Harbor Yacht Club to her car which was parked at the end of Steamboat Road. I then drove over to Grass Island, and I told several fishermen what had happened. I then went by the Greenwich Library, and I told the reference librarian what had happened. I then drove back home and coming out at Prospect street and West Putnam Avenue by Pray Volkswagon, I saw someone I know walking fast with two duffle bags out of the Belle Haven area where his family lives. I then called the Greenwich Police, and I told then again what had happened. I told a neighbor from Steamboat Road what had happened, and the neighbor said the lobstermen are always shooting at people they think are poachers. When I turned on television, current President Bush before being elected was up in Kennebunkport, Maine after a campaign swing in the area. I read the following day in the local www.greenwichtime.com , there was a Ku Klux Klan rally going on up in Hartford, Connecticut. A few days later, when I went back out to Tod's Point, I noticed that the "No Clamming" signs at the southwest picnic area had a few rifle bullet holes in them, which they later replaced that summer. Nothing ever came up more about the event, but the specifics that I mentioned are factual. I was later told by a veteran John McKillum who has since died and looked like Buddy Epson of the Beverly Hill Billys that, "There Ain't No More Kentucky Wind" implying that the high powered sniper rifles with laser scopes tend not to miss. However at long distance the earth does curve, and there is always wind at a distance. That is pretty much all that I recall. My web log notes on the event when it happened seem to have been deleted or edited from the computer, so it makes me wander what other specific other web log notes have been edited out or deleted and for what purpose and whom is doing it. Note: <888> 04/05/08 Saturday 10:45 A.M.. I watched some High Definition television amongst other things about the American Indians in Canada, and it mentioned a volcanic eruption from Oregon about 6,800 years ago, and another one from Alaska about 1,800 years ago, which caused it to be much colder up north. I ate two bowls of goldfish crackers. I just remembered when I worked at www.polaroid.com during the summers from 1968 to 1971, one of the best lunches in Cambridge, Massachusetts was a block south of Harvard www.harvard.edu Square, which served for about $1.89 a roast beef sandwich which was made with a Kaiser or bulkie roll pilled high with thinly sliced rare roast beef and thinly sliced Bermuda onion and Elsie's secret dressing which was sort of like mayonnaise with relish and horseradish. Well, I can not find any mention of it on the internet anymore, so maybe it has gone the way of Polaroid. Of course down by the waterfront in downtown Boston, there use to be Durgen Park, where everyone sat at picnic tables and ate big thick slices of prime rib of roast beef. I had to repair the coaxial TV cable to the Epox computer for some reason, it had pulled out from a two splitter. I clipped my finger nails and my toe nails. I will now reheat and eat the same dinner at the last five nights, and I will eat it with a glass of iced tea. CIO

Note: <888> 04/03/08 Thursday 1:10 P.M.. I made and ate a three extra large egg omelet with a little bit of grated parmesan and Romano cheese in it and on top of it, a toasted English muffin with butter, and five fried strips of maple flavored bacon. I ate it all with a glass of iced tea. I am going to throw out four old eggs that expired March 15, 2008. CIO
Note: <888> 04/03/08 Thursday 11:10 A.M.. I went out after the last note. I scraped a bit of frost off the front and rear windows of the Audi. I chatted with a neighbor. I went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought two six packs of Thomas' English muffins for $2.99 both, a loaf of Stop and Shop whole wheat bread for $2, a half gallon of Tropicana Premium orange juice with calcium for $2.50, Stop and Shop white American cheese for $5.49 a pound for $5.54, German wondabar baloney for $2.49 a pound for $4.20, four 64 ounce Ocean Spray cranraspberry juice for $2.50 each, four Ocean Spray crangrape juice for $2.50 each, a 48 ounce container of Quaker old fashioned oatmeal for $4.49, a 200 count box of Splenda sweetener for $9.49, a four variety box of 20 Twinings tea bags for $3.19, a 64 ounce container of Clorox ultra bleach for $2.19, a 38 ounce container of Pepperidge Farm whole wheat goldfish crackers for $7.99, a six pack of White Gem boneless breasts of chicken for $1.79 a pound for $8.25, a two pound bag of baby carrots for $2.99, broccoli crowns at $1.99 a pound for $2.17, and .13 tax for $77.99 total. I put my groceries in the rear of the car, and I brought my folding cart with me which I put in the back seat to haul them up when I returned. I then went by the Chase Bank on Mason Street. I then went by the Wachovia Bank on Benedict Place, and I paid my rent to the Greenwich Housing Authority. I then went by the Greenwich Hospital Thrift shop, and I chatted with some of the usual staff. I then returned home, and I chatted with some neighbors, and I brought up my groceries. I put away my groceries. I changed into my pajamas without the union suits, since currently in the apartment in the daytime, it is warm enough. I noticed the Pepsi Cola www.pepsi.com truck at the Stop and Shop was from Texas, so I guess they have to import it up here anymore. I have three six packs of the English muffins frozen, but I will not freeze the chicken, since I should be able to eat it up in the next week. My eggs might get old, if I snack on baloney and cheese sandwiches too for an extra meal. CIO

Note: <888> 04/03/08 Thursday 2:20 A.M.. I woke up at 8 P.M.. I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, two toasted English muffins with olive oil, orange and grape and cranraspberry juice with vitamins and supplements and coffee with milk and splenda sweetener. I chatted with a relative. I made my bed, and I washed the breakfast dishes. I showered, and I cleaned up. I went out, and I went by the Stop and Shop, and I bought buy one get one free of two six packs of English muffins for $2.99 both, fresh Chiquita bananas at .59 a pound for $1.13, and a Royal Crest Home Products shower curtain liner 70 inches wide by 72 inches long for with 12 reinforced metal grommets and magnetized disks at the bottom for $3.99 and .24 tax for $8.35 total. I then walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area. During my walk, I also checked out the south lower level train station garage, but there are no discarded computer items there. I sat out for a while at the south office train station plaza for a while, and I listened to the traffic on Interstate 95. I noticed at Carriage House Motors across the street from the train station, they have a vintage lime green opened mini Fiat automobile with a green and white canopy on top. It would be an economical Pope Mobile for the Pope's upcoming visit. It has wicker seats, so it does not weigh much. There were a few young people pub crawling. I also walked around the Bank of New York and Chase Bank parking lot on Mason Street. I then returned home. The round trip was 4.8 miles going the most direct way without traffic. At $3.94 a gallon for self service premium gasoline divided into an average of 12 miles per gallon in local in town driving at night without traffic, it works out to about 32.83 cents a mile to drive locally times 4.8 miles, a round trip downtown without traffic is $1.576. Of course I pay a lot more for insurance and maintenance on the Audi that the gasoline alone costs. I then did two loads of laundry, and I did a third load using bleach and liquid detergent to clean the shower curtain and liner, and I only am doing one dry cycle of the cotton items. I put clean linens on the bed, but I did not put all of the throw pillow back on, since they are sort of a pain to keep moving all of the time. I rehung the clean shower curtain and liner, and I left the new shower curtain liner on the toilet tank wicker rack. I have 5 minutes to go on the dry cycle. I am also making up a batch of Formula One http://mikelouisscott.com/icetea.htm . I have used up the six varieties of www.twinings.com tea, so I will have to make up Formula Two in the future, until I can afford the more exotic blends. I have to go out and get some of my first of the month grocery shopping this morning at around 8 A.M., and I also have to pay my rent at the Wachovia Bank on Benedict Place when it opens at 9 A.M.. I also have my regular 3 P.M. appointment this afternoon, so I should get in a nap sometime this morning and early afternoon. CIO

I had a telephone call yesterday at 3 P.M. from Diana Washington who works for Chris Shays Congressman Christopher Shays , and I explained the details for about a half hour of why it would be nice to return to the previous electricity policy that we had for the first eight years I lived here, when our electric bills were included in the rent, so we did not have such a financial burden, and we once again could have some heat in the winter. I went back to bed until 8 P.M.. I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and a sliced banana, two toasted English muffins with olive oil, orange and grape and cranraspberry juice with vitamins and supplements and coffee with milk and splenda sweetener. I chatted with a relative. I went back to bed until 11 P.M.. I ordered two Netgear® GA311 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Adapter at Office Depot. for $9.99 each and $1.20 tax with free shipping for $21.18 total. I washed the breakfast dishes.
