I then sat outside at the Board of Education veterans monument. I then went to the Stop and Shop at 160 West Putnam Avenue. I bought two 48 ounce Ocean Spray diet cranberry juice for $3.19 each, a 7 ounce Stop and Shop sliced provolone cheese for $3, two 14 ounce Boston Market Salisbury steak meals for $2.50 each, and two 6 packs of Stop and Shop premium English muffins for $2.50 each for $19.38 each. I then returned home. I put away my groceries. I filed this report. I will now go outside again. CIO

02/26/22 Saturday 7:55 A.M. I woke up at 6:45 A.M.. I chatted with a friend a neighbor. I ate ten Danish butter cookies. I went outside. Since I came off www.nantucket.net in December 1983, I walked downtown regularly until I got a car about three years later in 1986, when I lived at 700 Steamboat Road. I then had a habit of walking the 3.5 mile walk around Tod's Point, until gasoline got to expensive to drive over there from Byram which today is over $10 round trip to Tod's Point. Also around 2000 towards the end of May, I was shot at by a sniper at Tod's Point which case is still unresolved, so I quit walking around Tod's Point, and I started walking the entire length of Greenwich Avenue. About two years ago when Covid 19 broke out, I quit walking then entire length of Greenwich Avenue but just lower Greenwich Avenue, and recently I just sit out at two vantage points observing not much happening. Thus recently, I have been a regular on Greenwich Avenue for over twenty years. I also until about two years ago, also regularly covered the pier on Steamboat Road, when I figured out it was an extra dollar in gasoline to drive down there. Thus I covered the pier on Steamboat Road for over thirty years. I will now outside and drink a brewed coffee. CIO

02/23/22 Wednesday 1:55 A.M. I went outside again. When I first drove down to Florida in the third week of September 1976, I quit going south in Fort Lauderdale. I met a few locals like Steve Spielberg whom had worked with Jim Warburg at the Y.M.C.A. in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He had just made the movie JAWS, but at the time he was working as an Emergency Medical Technician on the beach in Fort Lauderdale, and he had the first cell phone I ever saw. He also had a baby lion in his house. I also met Norman Targon who was the top teenage hockey player in the State of Maine whose father was in charge of all of the psychology for the State of Maine. He had to go back up North for breaking probation for stealing televisions. Because I had South Caroline license plates on my 1966 Chevrolet Biscayne from Greenville, South Carolina where I had worked as an expeditor for Daniel www.fluor.com Construction company, I met Wiley Middleton who was a long time Florida resident who had done the camping trip with Flagler, Edison, Firestone, and www.ford.com after World War One. He kept an office at the Florida East Coast Railroad building on Las Olas Boulevard. He had built Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. I met a friend of his name Brian Hibbs from Cheshire, Connecticut whose father worked for the John Hancock Insurance Company out of Boston. The first time I drove down to Key West on Halloween in 1976, it was with Brian Hibbs, and it was pretty much deserted down there with everything boarded up. The following Winter of 1977, when I was trying to live in Key West, Brian showed up, but Jimmy Eldert whom had shown up told me to ignore Brian, since a younger Jimmy had a different group of friends out of the University of New Hampshire. Since my car had been towed in Fort Lauderdale for too many parking tickets at the Swimming Hall of Fame, I was stuck walking a lot and hitch hiking back and forth between Key West and Fort Lauderdale. When my six months of unemployment income arrived in April 1977, I got my car out of the Pound in Fort Lauderdale, and I drove north to Disney World for a day and then to St. Augustine, and then to Jacksonville, where Jim and I visited with Hurley Harris Bank Haywood, and then I put Jimmy back on a plane to go up north, and then I drove by Plains, Georgia, and back up North to www.nantucket.net, where I gave the car away to the Nantucket Hospital Thrift shop, since it was too big to park on a narrow India Street. I left the island a couple of times hitchhiking and visited Jimmy at the University of New Hampshire, where he was involved in the Seabrook Nuclear Power Station demonstration. I also went to the Science Fair at the Prudential Center, and I also visited Portland Maine, and www.dartmouth.edu with Jimmy, and for two weeks I cleaned up Sister Kate's bar in Stowe, Vermont, before returning back to Nantucket for the Season in May 1977. 02/23/22 Wednesday 12:45 A.M. Fred Meyers alias Fred Von Mierers was a good friend of Helen Kress Williams, and the Kress family art collection was on loan to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and she was also on the Board of Trustees of the Brooklyn Art Museum, so even though the dime stores were not doing well, the art collection was worth a lot of money. In Key West on Duval Street, they had a big Kress Department store that was later renamed "Fast Buck Freddies' " . Also on Duval street there was a small brick building for www.gulf.com oil. Across from the Key West Post Office Rob Glore had a craft shop with a half dozen girls working there, after he got out of school in Switzerland. His mother was from the www.dupont.com family that owned the largest chain of banks in Florida and the St. Joe paper company. Next it was the Key West Electric Company that also had a Scottish Rite Masons lodge there. Another relative's relative used to run Reynolds tobacco that has several streets in South Florida named after it. Another Greenwich resident was Henry Flagler's daughter, and Henry built the Florida East Coast Railroad, and the hotels like the Case Marina at the end of the railroad before it got wipe out by the hurricane in 1938. Harry Truman and his White House staff used to live in Key West at the Truman Annex Naval Base.

When I was in Key West in Winter from October 1976 to April 1977 and February 1978 to May 1978 and for a couple of days in the Winter of 1979 and for a day in August 1980 and back in the Winter of 1982 in February for a month, I was told that Sloppy Joe's Bar on Duval Street was not the original Sloppy Joe's bar, but it was built for the hoards of tourists, and the real Sloppy Joe's bar was just around the corner, and it was called "Captain Tony's" which had two pool tables in the cistern, and the names of the locals on the bar stools that they frequented there. In Manhattan back in the fall of 1973, I used to visit Daly's pub at 59th Street and First Avenue next to Ford Modeling, and one of the regulars that I knew there was Shawn Hemingway who was Ernest Hemingway's nephew, and he had gone to school in Switzerland. He later ended up at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, when I spent a lot of time walking around for free. I will now go outside again. CIO

As a matter of local reference in the Greenwich community, I attended Greenwich Country Day School from 1962 to 1965 thus many of my classmates are established members of this community that most everyone seems to know about. At the other schools I attended there was never any controversy around me other than I studied and worked very hard. I did not participate much in sports, since I have been weak and somewhat disabled most of my life, but I have managed to survive. I have researched and read quite a bit in my life, none of which seems to appear in the general media that most people watch, so I am not sure how viable any of it is today. Nobody communicates with me through the internet except two Red Cross volunteers that live elsewhere and have traveled extensively and also have Greenwich experience. From what I can tell, the younger generation are more interested in the gadgets for technology as opposed to old fashioned reading, and much could be my case anymore. CIO

When back in the third week of September 1976, when I drove down from here to Florida, I was planning to try to live in Merritt Island and work on computers for NASA, but it was a bit too cold there, so I set up camp in Fort Lauderdale, until it got too cold there, and I headed down to Key West, where NASA was supposed to train some of their astronauts. In the old days in the Space program, every pound of payload in Space cost $2 million, so the astronauts were not large people. I guess they got rid of me in Key West when I went up north in 1978 at 125 pounds, and then I returned briefly back in February 1982 at 1985 pounds. They have a very skinny group of darkly tanned thin people down there, I called the "Stick People". However, up north in the colder weather, people need more body fat to stay warm. CIO

I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a 48 ounce Silk vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $4.69 and from the clearance section a discounted box of 72 breakfast blend Stop and Shop K cups for $11.49 for $16.18 total. I then returned home. I picked up the mail. 02/04/22 Friday 4:05 P.M. I had a telephone appointment. I went outside. I have actually only visited the https://www.frick.org/ three or four times. Once or twice, I walked in off the street and toured it for free. Once I paid $10 to tour it. I also toured it with friends who had a museum pass the February after "911". However, I was familiar with the neighborhood, since in the winter of 1974, I knew Sandy Carlson from the Everson Art Museum in Syracuse, New York; and he was going to work at a gallery on East 67th Street, where I met W. Averill Harriman. I found Sandy a studio apartment on East 70th Street a block east of the The Frick for $350 a month. Thus I became familiar with the neighborhood where the Polo Lounge was at the Westbury Hotel near the French Consulate on Fifth Avenue a few blocks north. CIO

I took two slices of toasted Pepperidge Farm 15 grain bread, and I put Hellmann's mayonnaise on them, and I added eight 1/32nd inch thick slices of Stop and Shop turkey and six 1/32nd inch thick slices of Stop and Shop provolone cheese, and I cut the sandwich in half, and I ate it with Cape Cod wavy potato chips and a 12 ounce glass of www.coke.com Zero Sugar. 02/04/22 Friday 12:20 P.M. I chatted with a friend. I did come up with something on the Fricks. Back when McKinley became president, the only job they were interested in was ambassador to Switzerland. Helen Clay Frick also had a brother who lived in Alpine, New Jersey and whom was a doctor at Presbyterian St. Lukes in Manhattan. Obviously wealthy people that one reads about have other relatives whom are more private and manage to get by. I supposed much the same with the various Royals from around the world. Also some American families like the Vanderbilts have managed to marry into other established European families. Even Winston Churchill's mother was from the Randolph family in Virginia. CIO

02/04/22 Friday 11:25 A.M. Back in the 1970s, I knew Augustan Savard from Bulgaria that had gone to Oxford University, and he had the Box Tree restaurant in Manhattan and North Salem, New York. He told me that Helen Clay Frick once ate at his North Salem, New York restaurant, and she paid for it with a check from J.P. Morgan www.chase.com with her picture on it. She had the Frick Mansion in Pittsburg, the Frick Museum in Manhattan, an estate in Bedford, New York next to a friend's parents estate, a 250 room mansion in Beverly Farms, Massachusetts and a farm in Lenox, Massachusetts, so she probably had some other people help running her various households. There were also Frick family members here in Greenwich. There were also a lot of Frick mansions on Long Island including one on the north side of the Russian consulate in Glen Coe, Long Island which is now a plush retirement home. I chatted with a friend. I went to www.cvs.com . I bought buy one get one 50% off of CVS Gold Emblem whole cashew nuts with sea salt for $14.49 and $7.24 for $21.73 total. I then drove down to the Senior and the Arts Center. I sat out for a while. I used the bathroom at www.starbucks.com . I then sat out some more. I then went to the Stop and Shop at 161 West Putnam Avenue. I bought from the clearance section a day old 12 inch pumpkin pie for $4.49, buy one get one free of Thomas' English muffins for $4.79 both, a 2 pound bag of Halo mandarin oranges for $5.99, a 9 ounce package of Butter Ball roasted sliced turkey for $3.99, a 7 ounce package of Stop and Shop provolone sliced cheese for $3, and a 12 pack of Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, and cheese croissants for $15.29 for $37.55 total. 02/02/22 Wednesday 7:45 P.M. As a matter of reference, the tallest group of people that I have even seen was on Fort Lauderdale, Florida beach at the end of October 1983. There were two or three thousand older adults over seven feet tall, and there was a large oil portrait of General Omar Bradley in the lobby of the Bahia Mar Yacht Club there. There was a lesser group of tall men in the Florida Keys in 1976 to 1978, when I was there in the winter, and they were part of the Army Corps of Engineers rebuilding a 140 miles of the Florida Keys Highway, so people can see sunset and drive near the ocean without getting wet. The last time, I visited Toronto, Ontario, Canada in December 1983, there was an equally tall group of people at the sports bar across from the Toronto arena. I found out that the problem with my car was not that the tires were slipping on ice, but I have to warm it up before driving in the very cold weather. I went to the Acme grocery store at 160 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought a six pack of Thomas' Everything bagels for $3.59, ten 5.4 ounce Yoplait strawberry lemon yogurts for .70 each, a 59 ounce Simply Orange grapefruit juice for $4.99, and a 42 ounce Almond Breeze vanilla unsweetened almond milk for $4.99 for $18.39 with Tuesday Senior discount. I was told by the friend that my tires are good enough, and even with new tires, the tires could slip on ice. www.costco.com is supposed to have a Michelin Ice tire, and that is about the only winter tire available right now. However, the last I looked Costco does not offer wheel alignment. CIO
