<888> 02/28/14 Friday 7:35 P.M.  I chatted with a friend twice.

My current www.optimum.net bill which I paid this morning was $142.37.  The break down for the bill was:

Optimum Economy cable TV: $44.95

two cable boxes $13.90

Optimum Voice $34.95 and $15 credit for all three services

Optimum High Speed Internet$49.95 and $10 credit for all three service and Ultra 101 High Speed Package $14.95

$9.85 credit from last month for lowering to the economy package

TV taxes and fees $6.13, Phone Sales tax $1.18, E-911 Fee $.70, Federal Universal Service Fund $.51

for a total of $142.37 and if one adds the $9.85 credit, it means that next month the bill would be about $152.22 give or take a few cents.  I technically could get rid of the Ultra 101 High Speed Package which costs $14.95, but that might effect my Internet video speed.

I will now shower and clean up.  I will not be going out for groceries tonight, since it is too cold out.  However, I will probably have to go out tomorrow night.  CIO

<888> 02/28/14 Friday 5:50 P.M.  Before going to bed, www.gop.com called me from Arizona up trying to get money, and I explained to them politely that I can not afford to give them money.  I woke up at 4:30 P.M..  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and milk, a toasted bagel with olive oil, a 12 ounce glass of 50% punch and 50% cold filtered water and vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and Splenda sweetener.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  CIO

<888> 02/28/14 Friday 6:00 A.M.  For night people, the worst thing about this Greenwich Byram area, there is no longer any 24 hours grocery stores.  However, I have not checked out the location where the Cumberland Farms store used to be across the border in Port Chester, New York where there is a small grocery store, but I do not know if it is 24 hours or not.  I normally do not drive in that direction.  Where the large amount of vacant ground floor space is at the West Putnam Avenue CVS location, one could put in a 24 hour grocery store there, but it probably would not be too busy.  Greenwich people being mostly family people tend to be daytime people.  CIO

<888> 02/28/14 Friday 5:45 A.M.  Over 20 years ago, when gasoline was a lot cheaper, and I was younger and not afraid to travel on cold nights, I used to go to other parts of Fairfield County and Westchester County and network with people in a few local pubs.  The net result is that Greenwich, Connecticut seems to have gotten busier for better or worse.  I liked White Plains, New York; because I knew the United States Secret Service has an office there, where the New Haven office was too far away, and Westport, Connecticut used to have the Connecticut State Police branch, and Danbury, Connecticut had Hughes satellite where they were making the Hubble telescope mirror.  North Salem, New York had a lot of horse country estates, if one did not want to pick apples.  Now that we are prisoners of Greenwich and even worse Byram, the neighbors in the neighboring towns must have already investigated Greenwich pretty thoroughly, and they are not interested in networking with us in our simple village atmosphere.  I did once notice something odd at a small three story apartment building near the waterfront in Southport, Connecticut.  For years, there was a sign in front of the building that said "No Parking, British Embassy"; so more than likely someone from England was living there.  A foreign ambassador does not have to have residence in Washington D.C. where most of the embassy buildings are near the Federal Government, but the foreign ambassador can live anywhere they chose in the Continental Unites States.  Thus technically some poor third world country without an ambassador in the United States of America could sell the job to somebody and they could legally live where they could afford and have full diplomatic recognition and immunity.  Thus a rich person could by the job and live where ever he might chose with diplomatic recognition and immunity.  CIO

<888> 02/28/14 Friday 3:25 A.M.  For March 2014, I paid my http://optonline.net/  Digital Cable TV, Optimum Boost Plus, Optimum Voice, and my http://www.cl-p.com/ electricity bill, and my http://www.verizon.com/ local telephone bill.  My current Optimum bill was now $142.37, but that was with a $9 credit from last month with the economy cable service, so the new Optimum Bill will be about $152, which is about $65 for high speed Cable Modem, $35 for Optimum Voice long distance and about $52 for economy Cable TV.  However that includes $25 in discounts for all three packages which covers the two cable boxes which are about $12 and taxes another fees.  CIO

<888> 02/28/14 Friday 2:40 A.M.  I was just thinking, if David Rockefeller should still be in the area and not down south somewhere warmer, he could put in a time capsule at the new www.chase.com bank office complex construction foundation across the street from the Greenwich Library, where the old www.exxon.com gasoline station used to be.  Since it would be a business trip, he could probably write it off on business.  They are in the process of pouring the foundation at the current time.  CIO

<888> 02/28/14 Friday 2:15 A.M.  Since when Colonel Tom Scott was President of the Pennsylvania Railroad after the Civil War, and he was in partnership with William Vanderbilt, he organized the Standard Oil Trust for John D. Rockefeller giving John D. Rockefeller the exclusive right to haul oil on the Pennsylvania Railroad.  Tom Scott's telegraph operator was a young Scottish boy named Andrew Carnegie who he also let barrow books from his private library.  Later when John D. Rockefeller got too big for his britches, he had the railroad union burn out the rolling stock of the Pennsylvania Railroad, so he could have the exclusive monopoly on oil through the Standard Oil pipe line.  Thus in the economic depression of the 1870s when Tom Scott was in his mid 70s, he was financially ruined.  However, Andrew Carnegie did make some money, and his niece married Stillman Rockefeller here in Greenwich, Connecticut where the family has lived here for over a hundred years.  For her own personal viewpoint of Greenwich, Connecticut; the Greenwich Library Oral History published this memoir.

http://mikelouisscott.com/Nancy%20Rockefeller/

http://mikelouisscottcom.cv.siteprotect.net/Nancy%20Rockefeller/

Thus beside many other Scottish families in the area, they have had a profound influence on the local community.

I was thinking if the Scottish should vote to become independent from England, they could make Scotland a tax free haven, and let the British bank all of their money there tax free.  It might be profitable.  CIO

<888> 02/28/14 Friday 1:50 A.M.  I used to know Robert E. Lee's great grandson here in Greenwich, Connecticut.  After the www.army.mil where he was a medical doctor and Colonel after attending www.usma.edu .  He used to volunteer at the Merry Go Round Mews thrift shop on Arch Street with Mrs. Godfrey Rockefeller and Jack Ceci the Italian godfather.  He seemed to know something about my old American family.  He was also living in retirement in Coral Gables, Florida; so I figured he would be an excellent hurricane observer.  However, when we started having a lot of hurricanes about seven years ago, I tried tracking him down, and I called up www.usma.edu , and they told me he had died in Houston, Texas the year before. He also looked like William Rockefeller from Rye, New York; so maybe they were distantly related.  He also looked Colonel Joe Knolton in Boston, Massachusetts who was a friend of my father, and Joe Knolton was the head of the museum of science and industry in Boston http://www.mos.org/ .  As I recall Joe Knolton had several sons with the same look that I have which the first generation immigrants here in America seem to think is a German look.  The Merry Go Mews thrift shop used to be the Scott family boarding house in Greenwich, Connecticut before Nancy Rockefeller bought it for a retirement home.  It also was about the warmest place in town.  CIO

!!!!!! <888> 02/26/14 Wednesday 11:30 P.M.  Iranian warships heading to USA to show reach .  John Bolton in his republican news letter said:

Iran is taking America to the cleaners.

As Iranian warships steam through the Suez Canal heading for open waters of the Atlantic Ocean near the United States, we should be reminded of an important fact:

Iran doesn't fear the United States, our allies, or international sanctions. It fears no one.

Iran's recent actions are a clear message that they are feeling quite pleased with themselves and that they have broken through the West's regime of sanctions and
feel secure enough to project their power on a global scale.

Recently, we received proof when Iran's foreign minister boldly disputed claims that Iran agreed to dismantle its nuclear program. He boasted,
"We did not agree to dismantle anything!"

Michael, are you comfortable with the fact that Iran's power is growing and America's power is declining? I'm certainly not.

I formed John Bolton PAC for one purpose -- to see that our leaders remain committed to restoring American economic and national security.

Barack Obama does not truly see America as exceptional; instead, he sees America as just another player in an increasingly multipolar world that includes an ascending Iran.

Imagine this - if Iran completes its nuclear weapons program those ships in the Atlantic could be carrying nuclear tipped missiles.
Its radical Islamic regime could park them off of New York, Boston or Washington and directly threaten American power and security.

And why can they do this?

Because Obama has made us weak.

We must be prepared to do what it takes to protect the idea of American exceptionalism and our basic Constitutional priorities -- the preservation of which are essential not only to our security, but to our prosperity as well.

I'm done
accepting second rate leadership for the best nation in the history of mankind.

So Michael, are you with me?

Sincerely,

John Bolton

However, since there is new information on the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), all HMGP applicants may want to attend this meeting as well. Also discussed at the meeting will be grants that residents can apply for.

The CDBG program funded by HUD is available to residents that had damage to their homes during Sandy.  Residents may want to consider this funding. There are income guidelines, but they can fund folks at all income levels depending on who applies to the program.  This is the OORR grant which is up to $150K.

http://www.ctrecovers.ct.gov/ctrecovers/cwp/view.asp?a=4498&q=528758

The first step in applying for this grant is to sign up with an intake center to be able to work with someone on the grant application. All but one of the intake centers are closing as of Feb 28, 2014.  The center in Fairfield will be open until April 1,2014.  The attached link provides information on this. Therefore, residents interested in this grant should apply as soon as possible. You may elect not to apply for a grant but at least you will have the option and won't be closed out of the program.  This program funds restoration, not just mitigation.

Note Greenwich has residents who are not yet back in their homes following Sandy. These workshops are for residents with unmet needs as a result of the storm. This is not a workshop on the new FEMA flood regulations.

We hope you find this information helpful. As always, please feel free to contact our offices with any concerns you may have about state issues.

Best Regards,

<888> 02/24/14 Monday 7:15 P.M.  I took the 8 GB microSD card out of the Roku 3 device in the bedroom, and I put in the Roku 2 GB microSD card that I just received.  The Roku 3 device formatted it.  Although it is a smaller microSD card, it works a lot better, and the channel icons in the menu interface now come up instead of being blank.  I took the 8 GB microSD card, and I put it in the microSD to SD adapter, and then I put the SD adapter in the SD to USB adapter plugged into the primary work computer.  I then formatted the 8 GB microSD card, and I put it in the older Nokia Go Phone, and it is recognized as 8 GB of microSD storage.  CIO

<888> 02/22/14 Saturday 4:15 A.M.  While fiddling with the Watch Cell Phone, I mistakenly dialed the www.whitehouse.gov which was on my phone list.  I hope I did not wake up anyone around 9 P.M. this past evening.  I got an RMA from www.newegg.com for $37.99 to return the watch phone.  I took the H2O sim card out of it, and I put it back in the old Nokia AT&T GoPhone.  I took the 8 GB microSD card out of it, and I put it in the bedroom Roku device, and it was recognized, and I formatted it in the Roku 3 device.  Thus it will save its content to the 8 GB MicroSD card, and work a little bit more fluidly.  I packaged up the contents of the Watch Cell Phone, and I put it in its shipping envelope, and I taped a large label on it. I then dressed up warmly.  I scraped a layer of thin ice off the Volvo wagon windows, and I drove over to the Valley Road Post office near by, and I mailed it to Whittier, California for $3.94 first class and three day delivery.  I am not sure though if the mail there goes out on Saturday morning from the lobby box.  I then returned home.  The roads look like they might be very slippery, and but I drove very slowly, and there was only one other car driving around.  I chatted with a neighbor watching television in the community room.  I could see out the back window of the community room a fire truck with flashing red lights responding to an emergency situation.  I chatted with the neighbor a bit.  CIO

<888> 02/22/14 Saturday 1:25 A.M.  I have gone through 50 more channels on the Roku device in the bedroom, and I have 55 more to go.  I fiddled with the watch phone.  The TracePhone Obama Phone sim card does not work with it.  The AT&T sim card from the Nokia Lumia 520 GoPhone works with it, when placed back in its larger sim card cut out.  However, both times I tried the two different sim cards, it gave me the option to import the telephone numbers, so I ended up with three sets of identical telephone numbers on the watch phone.  When I tried to delete the telephone numbers from the watch phone, it was password protected on the phone and not the sim card, and I could not find any mention in the instructions or the internet of a password to unlock the function.  Also changing the watch phone password requires the existing password, which I do not have.  I emailed the manufacturer http://www.china-msd.com/CN_contact.asp about the problem.  I would rather not return it to NewEgg within 30 days of February 12, 2014 invoice, when they have to receive it with my cell phone private telephone numbers locked into it.  I put the H2O sim card back in it.  It has a function, when one makes a cell phone call to enable the speaker, so one can hear more loudly.  Earlier I chatted with a friend.  Another friend heard http://www.ladycarnarvon.com/ speak recently in Manhattan.  CIO

<888> 02/18/14 Tuesday 8:30 P.M.  I took the small light fixture from the bedroom entrance, and I put it on top of the Epox computer in the living room with the second red light bulb in it.  I turned off the small white elephant light in the living room window.  Thus when the apartment lights are turned off, one can turn off the kitchen stove light and the hallway book light, and the apartment will be in red black out light including the red bulb in the bathroom night light.  I will turn on the red light in the living room, when going to bed, but there will still be white light from the hallway book light and the kitchen stove hood light.  CIO

<888> 02/18/14 Tuesday 5:20 P.M.  I moved the red light in the bedroom to the pineapple lamp on top of the Dell CPU, and I have it connected to the power strip to the left of the Dell CPU.  I also have the Netgear Ethernet switch and T-Mobil Linksys wireless router going in the bedroom.  Thus I will try to leave the red light on while I sleep for night light in the bedroom.  I put the 15 watt white bulb back in the small lamp at the bedroom entrance with a small white lamp shade on it, which I will no longer leave turned on for a night light.  CIO

<888> 02/18/14 Tuesday 4:50 P.M.  I threw out the shipping box.  The mail arrived.  I got a Christmas Greetings letter from Queen Elizabeth II from her Sandringham Estate http://www.royal.gov.uk/ .  I put it in the frame with other Christmas Letters from her, which I hang on the back side of the bedroom door.  The order with tracking of https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction?qtc_tLabels1=9102901013119200763234 on the order for two Feit Electric 60W Equivalent Red Spiral CFL Light Bulb for $4.98 each for $9.96 and $4.49 shipping for $14.45 total arrived.  I put one red light bulb in the small lamp at the bedroom entrance, and I put a small white lamp shade on it.  Thus I now have night vision lighting in the bedroom.  Since I always keep a white night light in the hallway and one in the kitchen and one in the living room, there is not point in put in more red lights at the moment.  Back to the kitchen Roku device.  CIO

<888> 02/18/14 Tuesday 4:10 P.M.  I have the Roku 3000 device hooked up to the Haier TV in the bedroom.  It works off the Haier TV HDMI 2 port, when on the five port switch box, it is port number 1.  I have it setup to work off the wired LAN which is always on.  The Sony Streaming device is now port 2 working off the wireless which is not always on.  The Memorex DVD player is port 3 and the living room cable box is port 4.  The port switch device remote has to be pointed at the IR sensor of the left side of the Haier TV screen, or it can be manually switched.  I activated the Roku 3000, and I installed its 203 channels and updates.  I activated Netflix and www.acorn.tv , and I still have to activate the rest of the channels that need activating after the I finish with the kitchen Roku device.  CIO

When I checked out the Truman White House at the Key West Navy Annex during the winter of 1978 with a friend, it appeared to be just a one story two or three bedroom bungalow, and when I walked into it, it was full of termites, and my foot went through the floor.  It was well photographed, so I am pretty sure it was it.  The Navy base was abandoned with lots of palm frons and coconuts lying all of the place.  There were two or three nice houses on the southern tip, with a lot of other abandoned buildings.  This is what it looks like today http://www.trumanlittlewhitehouse.com/ .  CIO

<888> 02/16/14 Sunday 5:55 P.M.  I threw out the garbage.  I went downtown to CVS, and I picked up a prescription.  I then went by the ATM machine at the Chase Bank at the top of Greenwich Avenue.  I then drove further downtown, and I parked in my usual location.  There is no point in cleaning off the snow off the benches, since there is too much snow around them.  I stopped by Zen Stationary, and I played a Quick Pick Powerball Ticket for $2.  I then walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I sat out at various places that were clear of snow, but a bit damp.  I used the bathroom at Starbucks.  I toured CVS again.  There are two flyers outside CVS for a Wired Haired Terrier lost in Bruce Park with a thousand dollar reward and a 914 area code.  It looks like the dog that won the Westminster Dog Show.  The sidewalk at the top of Greenwich Avenue as it turns into West Putnam Avenue is extremely slippery and icy and dangerous.  I finished my walk, and I sat out for a while.  I then went by the Stop and Shop.  I bought a 48 ounce Quaker Old Fashioned oats for $4.24, a quart of Borden's lemon juice for $2.69, a 8.5 ounce bag of Cape Cod Kettle potato chips for $3, bananas for .79 a pound for $2.06, four 19 ounce Stouffer's meat lasagna for $3 each, a six pack of Arnold New York Everything bagels for $3.99, a chicken and scallop potato dinner for $2.49, and 40 cents can return for $30.07 total.  I then went by the Putnam Shell at 401 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought $11.02 of self service premium V-Power gasoline for $4.199 a gallon with a dime a gallon off with my Stop and Shop card for 2.624 gallons at odometer reading of 107489 miles for 25.4 miles driven since Friday January 31, 2014 for 9.68 miles per gallon in mostly local traffic.  I then returned home.  I got the Sirius radio going again on the Volvo wagon by pressing the Menu button.  I think www.foxnews.com is Sirius 114.  I then put away my groceries.  CIO

<888> 02/15/14 Saturday 8:40 P.M.  I chatted with a relative.  When I chatted with the walker who lives downtown today, he told me that nobody is cleaning off the snow off the benches downtown.  I guess they have to have a town meeting and come up with an executive decision to figure out whom might do it.  Maybe they should start charging for people to sit on benches, and then they could afford to pay someone for cleaning the snow off the benches.  Also they should shovel pathways to the benches, so one can reach them more easily.  I guess with the snow melting a little bit in the daytime and freezing at night, it is quite treacherous out there on the wilds of Greenwich Avenue.  I used to go out there in cold weather all of the time around the clock until about a year ago, when I decided I was too old for that adventure.  The safest sidewalk in the winter in Manhattan is the sidewalk around the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, because they have steam pipes in the sidewalk to keep it defrosted.  Of course that is the high rent district. The cheapest place I know to stay in midtown Manhattan is the http://www.ymcanyc.org/vanderbilt/ which is convenient to Grand Central terminal.  Nobody seems to have reason to communicate with me through the internet, so I guess they do not find my content too interesting, although I do have a lot of experience in this area and with the internet.  The cheapest place to stay in this area is the http://stamfordymca.org/ .  In Elmsford, New York and in Norwalk, Connecticut they have http://www.extendedstayamerica.com/ .  More than likely with the colder weather up north, the wild life that is still active will be foraging for food closer to where people live.  The http://glorydaysdiner.com/ in Greenwich, Connecticut across the street from the Y.M.C.A. is opened 24 hours on weekends.  The pubs in Greenwich close at 2 A.M..  I think www.mcdonalds.com and www.wendys.com are opened until midnight on West Putnam Avenue.  Of course in my neck of the woods on West Putnam Avenue, we have three 24 hours gasoline stations with mini marts and a 24 hours CVS, so you know somebody is always moving around in this area.  By exit 5 on I-95, we have the Riverside Shopping center with a 24 hour CVS and just to the east a 24 hour Walgreen's and 24 hour Getty gasoline station and 24 hour Mobil station, and a few blocks to the west, there is another 24 hour Mobil station.  Unfortunately in central Greenwich downtown after 10 or 11 A.M., there are no grocery stores or gasoline stations opened.  I think downtown Starbucks on Greenwich Avenue closes at 11 P.M. on Friday and Saturday nights, and the other nights at 10 P.M..  The Stamford, Connecticut train station is opened 24 hours, but I never checked it out in the early morning hours.  The rest areas on I-95 in Darien, Connecticut are opened 24 hours.  In the old days, one could try to sneak into the basement of the www.yale.edu law school and sleep on one of their red leather couches in their well heated basement.  There is a homeless shelter at Westchester County airport, but one needs to be referred by a Westchester County social services agency.  Also in Stamford, Connecticut and Norwalk, Connecticut; they have homeless shelters.  Westport, Connecticut has a small homeless shelter for about 25 people near the center of town, but it fills up fast. New York City has a large shelter network, and I think the police are required to round up homeless people in severe cold weather and take them to the shelters.  Of course there are always people falling through the cracks of the social services safety net.  CIO

<888> 02/14/14 Friday 8:35 P.M.  Town of Greenwich Message:

This is an important message from the Greenwich Police Department.  Today is Friday, February 14th, 2104.

By unanimous action, effective at 3:00 pm this afternoon the Town of Greenwich Board of Selectmen has lifted the Snow Emergency parking restrictions set in place on Wednesday.  Even though the Snow Emergency has been cancelled, small amounts of additional snow are forecast for tomorrow and the Town of Greenwich continues to encourage residents to voluntarily avoid on-street parking as best possible.  Many roadways remain narrowed by accumulated snow and ice.  Public Works crews will remain at work throughout the weekend removing snow and dressing roads.  This work is accomplished much more efficiently when streets are clear of parked vehicles.

Relative to snow removal from private property, residents and especially snow removal contractors are reminded that it is unlawful to deposit any plowed or shoveled snow onto any public street, roadway or sidewalk.  Violations of this type are aggressively enforced by the Greenwich Police Department.  Violators are subject to a fine of 118 dollars per violation.

Also, and in accordance with Town of Greenwich ordinance, owners and occupants of property with public sidewalks are reminded that they are required to maintain these sidewalks as free from snow and ice.  Snow and ice must be removed from sidewalks not later than 18 hours from the time the snow has fallen or the ice has formed.

Finally, with all of the winter weather and cold temperatures many fire hydrants are becoming obstructed under unmelted snow and ice.  The Town is encouraging those who have a fire hydrant on their property to help keep it visible and accessible by shoveling it out.  Even if you do not have a fire hydrant on your property, please do not be afraid to adopt a nearby fire hydrant in your neighborhood.  Ready access to water for firefighting can be a true lifesaver when seconds count.

Spring is just around the corner.  Until it gets here, please stay warm, stay safe and have a wonderful Valentine’s Day.

Capt. Mark Kordick
Greenwich Police Department

Bush was on the board of directors of Texas Gulf Industries, and when they were flying the private jet out of an airport in Africa, the locals were shooting at it.  Also Julius Silver the treasurer of Polaroid used to live in the Byram section of Greenwich.  Also Lucy and Dezi Arnez got married at the Justice of the Peace in Byram, Connecticut. Being on the border of New York State, Byram Connecticut probably has a lot of other refugees from New York State.  About 12 years ago, I saw Senator DuPont walking down West Putnam Avenue in my area.  CIO

Town of Greenwich Snow Notice:

This is an important message for all Greenwich residents from the Greenwich Police Department.  Today is Wednesday, February 12th, 2104.  As many of you know, significant snow and ice precipitation is forecast to begin later this evening and continue through tomorrow evening.  In anticipation, the Town of Greenwich Board of Selectmen has unanimously voted to declare a Snow Emergency effective at 6:00 pm today.  The Snow Emergency will remain in effect until cancelled.

During the period of the Snow Emergency no vehicles are permitted to remain parked, stopped or standing on any Snow Emergency streets.  Vehicles in violation will be subject to ticketing and immediate towing.  If you are unsure if your vehicle is parked on a Snow Emergency street, a full list can be viewed at the Town of Greenwich website here.  Vehicles displaced from Snow Emergency streets may be lawfully parked in municipal off-street parking lots until the snow emergency is over.

Even if you do not live or work on a snow emergency street, if you have off-street parking available for your vehicle, you are encouraged to use it during and after the storm.  Snow and ice accumulations from previous storms are already narrowing some roadways.  It is much easier for Public Works to fully clean the street without vehicles parked in their way.  Your cooperation will ensure that road crews can keep all streets open for emergency First Responder vehicle traffic.

Further, with all of the winter weather and cold temperatures many fire hydrants are becoming obstructed under unmelted snow and ice.  The Town is encouraging those who have a fire hydrant on or near their property to help keep it visible and accessible.  Ready access to water for firefighting can be a true lifesaver when seconds count.

The latest predictions indicate that we should receive at least six and as many as fourteen inches of additional snow accumulation over the next 24 to 36 hours.  Icing conditions on walkways, roads, trees and power lines may become problematic especially late in the day tomorrow.  Obviously, residents should restrict travel during the storm only to essential trips.

Additional staffing has been added to Public Works road crews and to Greenwich's First Responder agencies.  The Town of Greenwich is fully prepared for the coming winter storm event.  You can best help us by remembering to move vehicles from snow emergency routes, keeping vehicles off of non-snow emergency streets as well if possible, and making sure that fire hydrants are clear of snow and ice.  During the coming storm, please stay indoors, stay warm and stay safe.

End of Notice:  CIO

<888> 02/12/14 Wednesday 8:15 P.M.  I was here in Greenwich, Connecticut in the winter of 1992 after http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Pinatubo erupted the previous June 1991.  That winter we had a lot of snow including a two foot snow fall that brought the town of Greenwich to a stand still.  What was very frustrating though for us whom like to see our traditional winter wonderland landscape, the second day after the snow fall, the Town of Greenwich Public Works Department showed up that evening on Greenwich Avenue after all of the cars had been removed with lots of dump trucks and front in loaders, and they stole all of the snow off of Greenwich Avenue in less than four hours.  There was a big debate with the environmentalists as to whether they should be allowed to dump the snow in Long Island sound which might have road oil in it, so they now dump it all at the Grass Island Parking area.  CIO

<888> 02/12/14 Wednesday 6:55 P.M.  I chatted with a relative.  I got to thinking that www.wm.com might make some extra money in a large snow storm, since they have the heavy equipment to removed it.  CIO

<888> 02/12/14 Wednesday 6:05 P.M.  I wanted to move the Volvo wagon 18 inches away from the snow bank, but the building custodian told me to keep it parked against the snow bank.  I picked up the mail.  The order with tracking of https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction!execute.action?formattedLabel=9400109699938188321617 on the order for New replacement fan for Delta EFB0612HA 60mm x 10mm fan for $8.99 with free shipping arrived.  I chatted with the new elevator contractor and the asbestos person, and I gave them each one of my internet cards.  CIO

<888> 02/12/14 Wednesday 3:50 P.M.  I got a notice, they will be doing asbestos removal in the building for the next week or two as part of the new elevator project.  The building custodian had me move the Volvo wagon from its usual spot to the north end entrance of the building, so when the snow comes tonight and tomorrow until Friday morning, there will be an area to clear the east side of the parking lot.  I chatted with neighbors.  It says 6 to 10 inches of snow until 6 A.M. on Friday http://forecast.weather.gov/showsigwx.php?warnzone=CTZ009&warncounty=CTC001&firewxzone=CTZ009&local_place1=&product1=Winter+Storm+Warning#.UvvacfuS7AM ,

so I will just stay home until the snow storm is cleared.  I cancelled my 1:30 P.M. appointment for this Friday.  I am thinking of canceling my digital Cable Television subscription after the Winter Olympics is over in order to save money.  I can watch repeats of Fox news off the Roku device, and I can watch Bloomberg News as part of the local https://www.aereo.com/ $8 a month internet subscription.  However, I would have to pay about $20 more for Optimum Voice, so the net savings would be about $72 a month.  If I do cancel the Digital Cable TV subscription, I might continue to pay for the two cable boxes which is about $10 a month, until I am sure I want to return them.  My friend out in Melville, Long Island told me the snow is piled up there a lot deeper than Nassau County to the west of them.  CIO

<888> 02/11/14 Tuesday 8:00 P.M.  I ate a muffin.  The way I figure it as an established Republican Party member in this country, the local branch of the democrat Roosevelt family in Darien, Connecticut which managed with all of their money to build http://maritimeaquarium.org/ is the cause of a lot of the problems in this area which the Republican Party members encounter.  Since they have established assets, they might encounter lawsuits should any republican party members choose to prosecute or bring them to court, even if it has to be at the Hague http://haguejusticeportal.net/ , since there might not be a fair trial in this country.  Yes, we have made the case.  I emailed this to the Hague.

I once had a BA in Economics from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois. James Paul Warburg of the Warburg banking family was a family friend. Since I am legally disabled, I have not practiced in economics, but I just read short summaries. I have worked the internet "http://mikelouisscott.com/" and "http://mikelouisscottcom.cv.siteprotect.net/"  to try to make some sense out of it. All I can figure out is that the Rothschild family is making all of the money out of the so called New World order, and as a person whom objects with others, we are being held prisoners of economics in our homes. As a Dutch American citizen, I seem to have no rights but to chat with a government paid psychiatrist and take my medication and constantly be intimidated by gangs and hoods when I try to network in the general public. Then they try to blame me for the problems by giving me the Hail Hitler salute, when all I have done is peacefully sit in public here for 30 years and observe and smoke cigarettes and work the personal computers. I was told by a German Physicist before he died that they do not like me in Greenwich, Connecticut since I look German, although I have lived here most of the time since 1962. I think because I only know English and have 5 years of High School French, some individuals have slandered me and my friends for their fun and profit. From what I can see on the Bloomberg News here in America, there is a lot of economic hype of worthless internet companies, possibly to launder drug cartel profits.

Grant was also from North Salem, New York, but he did not have much money except an Army pension, and he had to barrow money from Mark Twain the writer who lived in Ridgefield, Connecticut and Hartford, Connecticut.  I use to like playing Tom Sawyer in my travels, particularly down in Cayo Hueso.  CIO

<888> 02/10/14 Monday 11:15 A.M.  I chatted with a friend whom knows a few Canadians.  Of course with the colder winter, the St. Lawrence Seaway is obviously frozen over for a longer period of time, so all of the shipping out of the Great Lakes which also includes a lot of food can not make it to the other ports in the world particularly Europe where it might be needed.  It costs too much money to haul bulk cargo via air.  CIO

<888> 02/10/14 Monday 10:50 A.M.  I went outside, and I threw out the garbage.  I cleaned about two inches of snow and ice off the Volvo station wagon with the new snow brush ice scraper.  It works just fine.  I chatted with neighbors.  Basically the higher prices of gasoline and fuel in the United States of America is making all of us prisoners of our homes.  Still, if one organizes oneself, one does not need to venture out in an automobile on a daily basis just to spin one's wheels.  In Europe a lot of people have automobiles which they leave parked most of the time, since gasoline can be over $8 a gallon there almost twice as much as here.  It said on Bloomberg News this morning, a lot of our energy is supplied by natural gas which has gone up over 65% recently.  If one is out on Long Island driving on the Long Island Expressway in the Queens Section of New York City near Le Frac City, one can see the https://www.psegliny.com/ natural gas tanks, and easily tell by their height how much natural gas supply is left in them.  Also from Steamboat Road here in Greenwich, Connecticut on cold clear days, one can look across Long Island Sound and see a lot of steam escaping from one of the power plants out there.  When I knew Helen Kress Williams in Oyster Bay, Long Island; I think her family were involved with http://williamsenergygroup.com/ .  Now if one happens to know any Canadians, back in the period when I was working out on Long Island between 1978 and 1983, a group of other workers built a natural gas pipeline down from Canada to New Rochelle, New York and under Long Island Sound to supply Long Island with more Canadian Natural gas, so if one wants to stay warm out on Long Island, remember Canadians are supplying your Canadian Natural Gas.  CIO

I chatted with a Maltese dog and its owner.  I stopped by the 3D printer shop, and I gave them a pep talk.  I chatted with a regular Norwegian who was amused by my Chinese Army hat that I wore with new leather jacket.  I chatted with a gal from Las Angeles, California who came here for the http://www.westminsterkennelclub.org/ , and I told her the Long Island dog show was more interesting.  I finished my walk, and I sat out for a while.  I did not clean the benches off, since I figured who ever the head guru is in town will figure it out sooner or later.  I used the bathroom at Starbucks.  I went by Zen Stationary, and I bought another Ace's High scratch card for a dollar, but I lost. One can now win up to a thousand dollars on a Ace's High scratch card, which would probably pay for dinner on Greenwich Avenue for your twenty closest friends.  I also stopped by the TD bank to tell them about the Aga Khan traveling all the way up to Canada.  I also stopped by Ralph Lauren, and I told the gal there, she should have Ralph design a Abercrombie and Fitch type hunting jacket like Teddie Roosevelt use to wear which I am sure a lot of heavier people might like, https://www.google.com/search?q=Teddie+Roosevelt+Photo+at+Yellowstone&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=ohj4UrvjHLOwsAS3sIDICQ&ved=0CCQQsAQ&biw=1280&bih=805 .  After my walk, I went by the Greenwich Library, and I used the bathroom.  I chatted with a reference librarian and a regular patron.  I then went by the Stop and Shop.  I bought a 64 ounce Welch's grape juice for $2.50, a 64 ounce Ocean Spray cranraspberry juice for $3.39, a 48 ounce Ocean Spray old fashioned oatmeal for $4.24,  two 15 ounce Chef Boyardee meat ravioli for $1 each, a 3.5 ounce McCormick's grill meats Montreal spicy steak seasoning for $2.91, a two pound bag of baby carrots for $3.29, fresh bananas for .79 a pound for $1.45, a 12 ounce package of Purdue chicken cutlets for $2.39, a four 6 ounce cup of Chaboni black cherry Greek yogurt for $4.29, and a 7 ounce package of Stop and Shop deli sliced Swiss cheese for $3.59 for $30.05 total.  I chatted with a Stop and Shop employee about all of the small people in this area whom seem to think I am a giant which is far from the truth.  I then returned home, and I put away my groceries.  CIO

<888> 02/09/14 Sunday 12:40 A.M.  I will now shower and clean up.  I will then go downtown to Greenwich Avenue, and I will forage around and probably take a walk.  CIO

<888> 02/09/14 Sunday 11:40 A.M.  I woke up at 10:30 A.M..  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and milk, a toasted English muffin with olive oil, a 12 ounce glass of 50% punch and 50% cold filtered water and vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and Splenda sweetener.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.  Basically in back country Greenwich for the people whom live up Round Hill Road, it is such a long trip down Round Hill Road, people usually on northern Round Hill road only go downtown once a week.  Also when coming down Round Hill Road, just before Pecksland Road, one has to deal with the dangerous "Dead Man's Curve" which has claimed quite a few people over the years.  Still one can live in back country off Round Hill Road and try to survive off supplies from the local Round Hill store.  When my family lived off Round Hill Road, we use to attend the Round Hill Community Church, when it was at John Street, but I have never gone to their new church http://www.roundhillcommunitychurch.org/  at the Round Hill Community House except once to head Bishop John Moore from St. John's cathedral in Manhattan speak.  CIO

End of Scott's Notes week of 02/09/14:

<888> 02/09/14 Sunday 3:50 A.M.  I ate a Greek yogurt.  I will now send out my weekly notes.  I will then go back to bed.  CIO

<888> 02/09/14 Sunday 3:25 A.M.  I use to call the British embassy in Washington D.C. at 1-202-588-6500 at night and press 0 to chat with security.  They now have a system, where one can go through the prompts to get through to their emergency number in London, and if one is Scottish, London will transfer one to Edinburgh, Scotland; where they seem to understand and listen.  CIO

<888> 02/09/14 Sunday 2:35 A.M.  If you want to see how the Rockefeller family control the www.greenwichtime.com , one might notice in the earlier Greenwich Time article about the grand list of property in Greenwich, there is no mention of the Stillman Rockefeller property which is about two thousand acres on the east side of Glenville Road.  They might not list it, because technically I think it is a Christmas tree farm accessed at only a million dollars as rural agricultural property.  Of course they also have property in Texas and Scotland, so they probably regard that as a small piece of property.  So be nice to the Scottish.  Stillman's wife Nan was Andrew Carnegie's niece.  Of course there are other neighborhoods in Greenwich that look more deluxe where the Vanderbilt family have lived.  Also the Bush family were once neighbors of the Dodge family.  The Frick family also lived near where the Vanderbilt family lived.  The area where the Frick and Vanderbilt family lived might be where the Ford family might also have a house, since it looks like Grosse Point Farms, Michigan.  The Reed family also lived there amongst other neighborhoods in town.  I think the Mellon family might have property north of Greenwich in Banksville, New York which is more undeveloped.  CIO

<888> 02/09/14 Sunday 2:10 A.M.  Basically from what I know about the neighborhood where the Aka Khan has a house in Greenwich, Connecticut is near where my family once had a house.  In that neighborhood, the Rockefeller family, the Bush family, the Shah of Iran family, the Norwegian Royal family, the J.P. Morgan Belgium branch family where I bought my first personal Apple IIe computer for $100 at a tag sale, and the Bentley family all have homes in that neighborhood, and it is near where the Peterson and Watson and Powers and Shepard families once lived too.  There are quite a few other families in that neighborhood whom managed to stay more private for economic reasons.  It costs money to be public.  Tom Shaw whose family is in the construction business in town whom I had one of my first cigarettes with also built a spec house in that neighborhood recently, but he prefers to live down in Melbourne, Florida near www.nasa.gov .  There are also wild animals in that neighborhood.  Quite a few people from that old neighborhood have also ended up at http://www.johnsislandclub.org/ .  Of course the Aga Khan has multiple homes around the world, so whether he ever uses his property in Greenwich is opened to speculation.  CIO

Prime Minister of Canada to welcome Aga Khan:

PM to welcome His Highness the Aga Khan to Canada
February 7, 2014
Standoff, AB

Introduction

Prime Minister Stephen Harper today announced that His Highness the Aga Khan will make an official visit to Canada later this month. During his visit, the Aga Khan will meet with Prime Minister Harper, who has invited him to deliver an historic address to Parliament.

Canada has a warm and enduring relationship with the Aga Khan, 49th hereditary Imam (spiritual leader) of the world's 15 million Shia Ismaili Muslims. The Government of Canada has a strong, long-standing relationship with the institutions of the Ismaili Imamat, including the Aga Khan Foundation Canada (AKFC) and the Aga Khan Development Network. AKFC is a trusted partner of Canada on a wide range of international development initiatives, including in Afghanistan, in the areas of health, education, rural and economic development, and the creation of new opportunities for women. The Network’s underlying ethic is that of compassion for the most vulnerable in society and service to humanity without regard to faith, origin or gender.

<888> 02/08/14 Saturday 11:10 P.M.  I reheated and ate a 18 ounce can of Campbell's New England clam chowder which I put some dried parsley and ground black pepper and celery salt on, and I ate it with a 12 ounce glass of Canada Dry ginger ale.  I hooked up the 5 HDMI port switch device to the bedroom television setup, and I left its remote on the left side of it.  It works off HDMI 2 on the Haier TV for the additional devices.  The Roku device for the bedroom with tracking of https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction?qtc_tLabels1=92612999966477541400021625 on the order for $39.95 with free shipping refurbished Roku HD 2500R Digital WiFi Media Streaming Player seems to be delayed in the mail.  CIO

To save a trip across the Rio Buyrum, I ordered two Feit Electric 60W Equivalent Red Spiral CFL Light Bulb for $4.98 each for $9.96 and $4.49 shipping for $14.45 total.  I will use one in the bedroom and one in the living room for night light, when I feel I need it.  I will now take a nap.  CIO

<888> 02/07/14 Friday 11:45 P.M.  I chatted with a friend.  I watched the opening of the Winter of Olympics from Russia that was broadcast on N.B.C..  I guess to afford to pay off their $750 million cost to broadcast it, they have to have a lot of commercial advertising.  I ate three ounces of almonds while watching the show.  Earlier today I ate two ounces of almonds.   I will now shut down the primary work computer.  I will eat a Greek yogurt.  I will then go to bed.  It seems we are having a colder than normal winter, but it is my viewpoint that this Has the Sun gone to sleep? might be true.  CIO

<888> 02/07/14 Friday 6:55 P.M.  I picked up the mail.  I chatted with a neighbor and the building custodian.  If one reads the small print in the www.nytimes.com , in their article about the Tapan Zee bridge reconstruction, the picture of the heavy lifting barge they brought in from San Francisco through the Panama Canal says http://www.fluor.com/pages/default.aspx , and since I once worked for Daniel Construction in Greenville, South Carolina as an expeditor, and since Daniel was bought out by Fluor, more than likely somebody in this area is involved in the new bridge project.  They only paid me about $550 a month after taxes, and I lived in a $140 a month one bedroom apartment near the Greenville, South Carolina sheriff's department, where I saw about 200 sheriff deputies every morning on my way to work in my 1966 Chevrolet Biscayne  light blue 4 door sedan, we had pretty good security.  Also General William Westmoreland was from Greenville, South Carolina, so Daniel employed quite a lot of retired military personnel.  They offered me a job in Saudi Arabia building an air force base there.  When told that all of the tankers full of cement in the hot harbors had their cement going bad, I suggested that they build cement plants in Saudi Arabia, since they have most of the natural ingredients there.  Alas, since I live so far up north in wilderness of New England, those peanut munchers down south have long since forgot about me.  I still have communications with other relatives down south, but mostly I hear about grocery store politics from them.  CIO

<888> 02/07/14 Friday 5:40 P.M.  A good way to jam the http://www.nsa.gov/ by playing this http://www.disco-disco.com/sounds/djsets/robbieleslie-studio54-podcast.m3u .  It is also good work out music for exercise.  Of course to loud disco music probably made people a bit deaf.  Also the people who produced other music did not like it, since it was quite popular at one time.  I always wandered if the strobe lights in the disco were photographing people while they partied.  The music file said they were also using a lot of drugs at the discos to get "HIGH".  I guess that is what the West Coast was all about, while we were all freezing in the cold back East.  It is also was part of the Miami Sound Machine group of people.  The first discothèque I discovered was in Grenoble, France at the "Bird Land" disco in Marcelle's old barn behind his villa where Charles Rising King and his classmates at the University of Grenoble were staying during the French student riots.  Of course in French, the word discotheque means "Hall of Records".  A lot of disco music was never heard in this country, since it was only licensed for various cruise ships on various voyages.  They were sort of like the Beatles' "Magical Mystery Tours" to www.nantucket.net .

Town gears up for snowy week

Town of Greenwich, Connecticut Emergency Message:

This an important message from the Greenwich Police Department.  As many of you know, significant snow and ice precipitation is forecast for this later evening through tomorrow.  In anticipation, the Town of Greenwich Board of Selectmen has unanimously voted to declare a Snow Emergency effective later this evening at 1:00 am, Wednesday, February 5th, 2014.  The Snow Emergency will remain in effect until cancelled.

During the period of the Snow Emergency no vehicles are permitted to remain parked, stopped or standing on any Snow Emergency streets.  Vehicles in violation will be subject to ticketing and immediate towing.  If you are unsure if your vehicle is parked on a Snow Emergency street, a full list can be viewed here: Snow Emergency Streets  Vehicles displaced from Snow Emergency streets may be lawfully parked in municipal off-street parking lots until the snow emergency is over.  Your cooperation will ensure that road crews can keep Snow Emergency streets open for emergency First Responder vehicle traffic.

At this time, the State of Connecticut’s Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection is anticipating that this will be a "moderate to major" winter storm event.  Light snow beginning around midnight is predicted to give way to very heavy, wet snow through the early morning hours continuing to midday tomorrow with some periods of limited visibility.  The snow will be mixed with and finally end with periods of sleet and freezing rain.  Total snow accumulations are predicted to be 6 to 10 inches and total ice accretions of up to one-quarter of one inch are likely.  Temperatures, even during the daytime, are not predicted to be above freezing for several days.  This storm, especially with its potential for significant icing may cause trees and branches and power lines to become heavy and fall.  Residents should use extra caution when outdoors, be aware of the potential for falling trees and branches and never approach downed wires of any type.   Additionally, residents should be mindful of the possibility of power and communications interruptions during and following this winter storm event.

Additional staffing has been added to Public Works road crews and to Greenwich's emergency responder agencies and the Town of Greenwich is fully prepared for the coming snow and ice event.  You can best help us by remembering to move vehicles from snow emergency routes.  Please stay indoors, stay warm and stay safe.

Capt. Mark Kordick
Division Commander
Greenwich Police Department
